We lunched at Boudin because they had good salad options, and a member of our party is on a restrictive diet. The Asian salad was huge and fresh (and there were quite a few salads to chose from). My son enjoyed his grilled cheese with bacon and my turkey avocado on whole wheat was really good. As one would expect, the bread was especially fresh and delicious (you could see into the bread baking area where more was being made). Sandwiches came with choice of chips or salad. The greens in my salad were starting to brown around the edge. Another member of our party enjoyed the chowder in bread bowl and a red tail beer. You order at the counter, take a number to your table and food is delivered to your table. Servers were especially nice and helpful. There is a pretty good sized seating area, inside and out. The smallish parking lot is already busy. Chipotle and Krispy Kreme share the same strip mall...and KK isn't open yet. Vacaville food offerings tend to be on the heavier side of things so it's always a breath of fresh air when new places come in that offer lighter (and delicious) options. Enter Boudin SF. I remember going to the wharf with my parents to be greeted with delicious clam chowder in heart signature bread bowls. Now I don't need to go to sf to relive this experience, I barely have to drive more than five minutes actually. This place is almost always busy and for good reason (the food is GOOD). However, we always seem to be in and out in less than ten minutes despite the daunting lines. The staff always looks cheerful despite the crowds they have to deal with which makes coming in an even more pleasant experience. Every time I have come here at least one server went above and beyond to make our experience better which leaves a lasting impression and keeps my family coming back for more. I always get the boudin SF combo which gets you a bread bowl of soup and a half sandwich for 8.99...not bad when this keeps me full all throughout the day without fail. My favorite combination is the clam chowder with the pesto chicken sandwich but I've heard good things about virtually everything on the menu. The pastries and bread offerings are always tasty. I love bringing home a loaf of their signature sourdough as it compliments pretty much everything I have lying around my fridge. Their muffins are also tasty but I never have room after their meals so I always save it for later. So thank you boudin for choosing Vacaville as your newest location. Stopped by to meet a business partner for lunch and was happily surprised how good it was. We both had the burger on a brioche bun with avocado and it was really good. I saw many other meals the people were eating and they all looked delicious. The people serving you were nice and the place was really clean. Ok so first I. get a free loaf of bread once a month for being on the boudin club. My wife and I Oder our meal then I asked to get my monthly bread the cashier said there was not one available, however on the app and receipt it said there was. After pointing that out the cashier begrudgingly got the bread. My wife prefer the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was good but the grilled cheese sandwich was cold and the cheese was only partially melted. I ordered the California burger with no cheese when it came the burger was cold greasy and had cheese. The manager took it back to fix and when it did come back it was the same burger except the cheese had been partially scrapped off. Since I have an allergy to milk products this would not have been a good experience. Finally after a third return and almost 45 minutes later I got an edible burger. If you haven't been to a Boudin, know that you can always count on beautiful bread displays and decorative baked pieces for purchase, nice lighting, patio seating, and the best, creamiest clam chowder. This location has wonderful, friendly staff. They sometimes offer samples too. The inside dining room is fairly large, but can fill up quickly during lunch hours. The parking lot can fill up quickly too. I recommend anything on the menu including that crazy-sounding-grilled-cheese-apple-sandwich! Boudin's has fresh baked pastries and cookies, packaged cookies, their canned soup to take home, with of course their wonderful bread baked on location. the staff is great! they not only bring your order to you if you eat there but interact with you. many of the families with small children got goodies for their kids like small turtle breads, crayons and color menu and kids cups for drinks. The place has Peet's coffee and Teas along with beer on draft and wine so it really is a great inexpensive fresh place to grab a bite. Half sandwich and soup is $7.99, $1 more if you want the bread bowl. My fav is the butternut squash soup. The Brie and Apple sandwich was yummy too! Great portion size for a regular eater. While I normally have a decent enough experience at the location, as the food and service have been relatively consistent in my experiences, today was so awful I have to make my concerns heard. What started as an Uber Eats issue with incorrect order being delivered ( addresses with Uber Eats ) upon receiving ANOTHER order of burned, cold, and incorrect food, we were forced to drive it back to the restaurant. We were met with Manager James, who was quick to defend the processes at the restaurant. I don't know how Uber Eats was able to burn the grilled cheese, but please James, continue. Ultimately just looking for the food to be remade, while standing waiting we get to hear voices from the kitchen discussing different derogatory terms in Spanish. Could have been in reference to our order, or the MANY orders of customers in ear shot as it is a open kitchen. I understand mistakes happen, no one was looking for a free loaf of bread or a hand out, simply empathy and edible food. Disappointing attitude by the staff. This Boudin SF location get 5 stars for their customer service alone! We stopped by on way back home, San Jose, from Sacramento. We ordered the basic Baguette Burger and the Turkey Avocado sandwich with a salad and soups as side. The soup was exceptional! We were attended by a gentleman named Angelo. He came to check on us many times. I jokingly made a comment about how the soup was too small and he brought over a second since "it was a slow day and it was close to closing time." I also sneaked a bite of my daughter's flourless peanut butter cookie that came with her kid's meal (choice of cookie or applesauce) and it was awesome....okay, I ate the whole thing. She was full from the free turtle-shaped bread they give to children. Parking can get a little tight when it's busy, but the butternut squash soup is so good that I don't care. Family and I were in town for a weekend soccer tournament. Found this spot on yelp. Was so darn good we went two mornings in a row. The food was above average (bacon/egg sandwich and the breakfast plate). But the brie & apple sandwich was the "bomb.com!" If you like Brie cheese get this sandwich!! Stellar service! Everyone is so nice and welcoming! My mom is a regular here and she's always raving about how sweet everyone is and of course how delicious the sandwiches and soups are. The chowder is pretty good. You have to get the bread bowl, the sourdough bread is delicious. I like the half salad/soup option or half soup/sandwich option (~$8). My favorite is the chicken pesto and the spring salad. The spring has apples, walnuts, cranberries and apples with balsamic! Yum so delicious! I do wish their plates were bigger not portion size but actual plate. When I ordered the sandwich/salad option the small plate was so filled the salad was falling off. Boudin is a chain restaurant, so you already know what to expect when you go in. They are known for their sourdough bread, which is delicious and they also have soups, salads and sandwiches. I have tried a few of their sandwiches and none of them have ever disappointed me, and I would say my favorite is the turkey pesto. Most of the time though, I will order a salad here and my go to is actually the new Chicken Kale Caesar, which is topped with two sourdough breadsticks. The salad is well balanced and never overdressed, which is a huge plus. Regretfully, I haven't tried much of their baked goods, but I have had their cookies which are excellent! We walked in and the place was really clean, the employees friendly, and the menu looked delicious. Our meals were togo and I guess they took longer to prepare than usual because the guy who handed me the bag apologized for the wait...it was Friday night so I thought it would have been longer. The chowder was great and had lots of stuff in it, the bread bowl was soft where it needed to be and thicker where needed. My chicken pesto sandwich was awesome! Good food, horrible service. I've been coming to Boudin's in Vacaville since it's opened and have really enjoyed their food, however I have noticed that each time I place an order for pick up, the service is absolutely horrible. I went in to pick up two salads and a kids pizza. As I was waiting in the pick up line I saw an employee realize that I was there and continue working. I thought, no problem, she probably doesn't run the register/to go orders. A few minutes later a man arrived in line behind me. Almost immediately, he was greeted by the same employee that had previously acknowledged my presence yet decided to keep working. The man was helped before I was, and I was eventually helped by another employee who seemed to be making his rounds. You ever been to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and seen the theme park-like line in front of that place that bakes their own sourdough bread bowls and puts clam chowder in it? Well this is that place, minus the crazy lines, without the tourists, and in Vacaville. The clam chowder is delicious. The bread bowl is a nice touch but I am convinced that you actually get more chowder if you get it in a regular bowl. Their sandwiches are great too, although the crust can get pretty tough sometimes depending on the batch that day. The salad that usually comes with the meals is literally just chopped romaine and a balsalmic dressing. If you are willing to upgrade to the ceasar, it's worth it. If you come with kids, the staff will often will come by and give them a piece of sourdough shaped like a turtle. Also, if you join their rewards club, you get a free loaf of their famous sourdough a month for 13 months. Another bonus is the location. Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Chipolte and a yogurt place are all in the same plaza. Right across the street is even more food places and a decent shopping plaza. read more

My mom and I eat here 1-2x a week. We absolutely love their butternut squash soup! I always get it with their pesto chicken sandwich on rosemary focaccia and my mom gets the BBQ chicken salad. Their clam chowder is super tasty, too. If you love cookies they have one of the best sugar cookies I've ever had! Oh and I can't forget to mention Grandma!
