I was really looking forward to eating here since the one in SF is so good but I was quite disappointed. This place is well known for its clam chowder in bread bowls but I was told there were no bread bowls. Usually this would be fine since the clam chowder is enough but later multiple customers receive bread bowl with their clam chowder. This very much disappointed me. SO happy that they built a Boudin's here! This place is awesome! I had a bread bowl of clam chowder (cant pass that up from a Boudin's) and a Spring salad. The soup and bread were delicious, I ate the whole portion, plus the salad was excellent too! I am not normally a big salad eater, but trying to eat more of it when it has a lot of tasty ingredients. This one included cheese, sliced apples, cranberries, mixed greens, almonds, and had a nice dressing. I ate most of that too, and was very pleased with my order. Bf had a ham and brie sandwich which he said was very delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back to eat here again. Of course they decorate the place with their breads and bread animals. I love the bread turtles. The seating is very large and there was no problem getting a table even though it had just opened and was very busy. The staff was excellent and checked on us at our table. I even overheard them giving the guy at the table next to us more bread with his dinner free of charge since he asked nicely for it. Im sure they were supposed to charge but just didnt. Right next to a new Krispy Kreme and Chipotle, the parking here is horrible!! Way too small of a lot for the amount of traffic that these places get. Plus you cant really park across the street where there is ample parking and walk over (at least not yet, I dont know how they propose to fix the parking situation) and there's a lot of construction going on in the same area. Once again my ability to take a picture of my well crafted meal failed since my mouth is lightning faster than taking pictures. DANG! OK so My salad was amazing! It was the spring salad with chicken. Full of flavor, candied walnuts, cranberries, green apples,feta, and fresh green with the perfect balance of balsamic dressing tanginess. The hubs tried the Chicken Banh Mi salad, also amazing. It has chicken, cilantro, pickled carrots, jalapeños, , soba noodles, mxd greens ,and other healthy additions, and sesame ginger vinegrette. I also bought cookies just in case we have room after eating the massive salads. Semi sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate macadamia, and "the Royale," cookies. Meh, the food is fine here, I don't feel it is worth all the WooHoo. I don't like that the electronic menu board showing their specials and food is always showing the lunch food, because they won't sell it to you if it is before 11. It was like being in San Francisco without having to drive an hour and a half. The clam chowder was yummy and I decided to try something different... A Brie, Apple and some type of jam sandwich. It was delicious! Sweet and savory in every bite, I would suggest trying it. Aside from the food that was enjoyable and satisfying, the customer service was superb. The lady who took our order was very friendly as well as the person who served our food. Very happy there is a Boudin closer to us, we'll definitely be back. Do enjoy the food from SF Boudin But complaint is for nearly 3 months trying to make Phone Orders that they do not answer the phone. Try for 20 to 30 minutes not only me but wife as well calling and no one answers. When decide to then go there and ask why? Am told the phone ringer was turned down on LOW. Not too busy other times finding still have to drive in to order since No One Answers the Phone. And it is not busy. Last night tried again 20 to 30 minutes with me and wife both calling. No On Answers the phone. When Drive in and always ask the manager to let know of experience still having. As it is not busy of only 2 tables customers and no one in line. She say "Yes I know, I have the Phones turned off" I said thank you and left and took business elsewhere. I called today and talked to different manage to let know and she said will bring this up. As informed will let Corporate SF Boudin know of this problem at Vacaville as dont want it to loose business only want the problem resolved. I previously left Boudin's 5 stars. They have never disappointed until today. Every visit the have given my two kids sourdough turtles (without us asking) at no charge. They have come to look forward to that. The last visit they were busy and the girl helping us didn't offer, my daughter asked very politely if her and her brother could have one. They happily got their turtles and we left (to-go order). When examining my receipt I noticed I was charged for the two turtles. It's not that big of a deal but if she was going to charge me I feel she should have asked me if it was ok if they got them. Not sure if they charge for them now or she was new but that's a bummer because my kids look forward to it. read more

I also like the apple spinach salad, Italian sandwich, and of course the clam chowder. The staff is friendly and efficient. I'm a fan. We always come here after we go to the outlets. The line to order goes quickly and the seats are "seat yourself" and we never had trouble finding a table. One time we went with my son, there's a window by the ordering line where up you can see the bakers kneading and shaping the dough. Once we got to the front the baker came out and gave my son a fish shaped bread! He was excited and I was impressed. We always get the SF Boudin combo: 1/2 sandwich and clam chowder in a bread bowl (bread bowl extra $1). For the sandwich my husband and I on separate visits have gotten the pesto chicken sandwich and the bread that they use is so hard and very chewy. The sandwich itself is good but the bread makes it hard to eat. I'm going to steer away from that the next time and try something else. read more

Went above and beyond in service! Pulled off the highway after a long drive home from Oregon on July 19 and we were hungry and cranky. I wish I knew the name of the server who helped us---she was friendly and solved a problem quickly: after we sat down and the food came (quickly) there was a confusion about what we had ordered and I couldn't find the receipt to confirm. I have always had great service at boudin. Food is always great and they always go above and beyond. Well today they took it up about 10 notches. I ordered from DoorDash, but some things not on the actual menu are not on the DoorDash menu. I called and was able to work it out. But since I'd already ordered I had to place a second order. They combined both and sealed the bag shut to insure our food wasn't tampered with. I got in contact with DoorDash to inform them so they wouldn't send a second DoorDasher. Well someone ended up picking up the order anyway and well delivered 4 cookies to my house. Boudin did not have to put together 4 cookies. But they did anyway.
