    Boulder Cork Salad
    Michelle E.

We went on a double-date to dinner at Boulder Cork. We made a reservation in advance (recommended). Our waiter was very friendly and we were seated at the time of our reservation. We ordered the Boulder Cork salad to share as a starter and I had the Sake Salmon for dinner. I chose the Boulder Cork salad because it seemed to be the healthiest salad on the menu. Overall, I liked the salad, but would've preferred it without the macadamia nuts. The sake salmon was cooked well and had great flavor but it was too saucy for me and I didn't care for the veggies, they seemed to be frozen or canned and not fresh. My husband ordered the filet and the couple we were with ordered a surf and turf meal and a sake salmon. They all enjoyed their food a lot. Also to note, we didn't realize the restaurant closed at 8PM and our dinner reservation was at 7:15. We stayed at the restaurant until 10 and none of the staff came over to try and kick us out. We had great conversation, laughed, and reminisced, even after closing. We are grateful to the staff for letting us stay!

I'm elated to share that this business continues to go above and beyond for their clients - both regarding in-house service & food as well as projects/activities involving their lot and landscaping. Their staff called to apologize for the noise & make it right in my eyes. I'm so thankful for their understanding and compassion. I wanted to be sure to come here and update my review to share that they did reach out to me regarding my recent concern. I'm happy to be calling myself their customer again.

What a wonderful anniversary dinner experience! The hostess and waitress were so kind, congratulating us on our anniversary (since we marked it in our Open Table reservation). The service was seriously excellent. The food and drinks were so delicious. The atmosphere of the outdoor area with all the plants and string lights was very romantic and calming. And the mud pie for dessert!! Wow. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for a lovely date night, Boulder Cork!

We dined at Cork for a business dinner this week. This is a really good steakhouse in Boulder. This was a large group so we had a private room in the back. Service was outstanding! While there were great sounding fish specials (which some of us ordered), my philosophy is if your in Colorado, in a steakhouse, you order steak! My filet was excellent! Sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were on point as well. A slice of carrot cake with a cappuccino finished the meal off nicely. If you're in Boulder and looking for a great steak, Cork is a great choice!

I mean, such good vibes and what a perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon. I can only imagine sunset. We got the pimiento peppers which were so good--the sauce is out of this world. The salad had the best vinaigrette and while I didn't take a picture (I was so excited to eat that I forgot), the steak frites was out of this world. The jamon fat fries were insane. So crispy and so flavorful. But the steak? Woah. Not a big portion, but that's not surprising for tapas! Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly-- aka, perfection. The drinks were definitely expensive, but we were happy to pay for a quality experience at an upscale restaurant. We ordered multiple appetizers, had several drinks, sat at the bar for quite a while, and honestly about to leave thinking this was a place we would probably come back to. That changed the second the bill arrived. Buried into the check was a 7% "kitchen surcharge." In other words, the restaurant decided to pass along kitchen payroll costs directly onto the customer without being upfront about it. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping on top of that surcharge as well, essentially paying an extra hidden fee without realizing it. At a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and classy, this came across as incredibly tacky and cheap. Pay your staff properly and price your menu accordingly instead of sneaking surprise fees onto the bill at the very end. That's not hospitality. That's the kind of nickel and diming people expect from budget airlines, not a supposedly high end dining experience. It completely ruined what had otherwise been a nice night. We were seriously considering coming back before this happened. Now we won't return.

Brasserie Ten Ten feels increasingly rare now…read more Even in very good restaurants, actual tablecloths have become uncommon. At lunch, rarer still. So when you settle into Brasserie Ten Ten, with its white linen, substantial silverware, mirrors, low conversational buzz, and faint 1920s salon energy, you will notice. There's something a little Gertrude Stein about the place: people lingering, talking, drinking and eating well, behaving as if the outside world can wait. It feels slightly Parisian, in the best way. Refined but lived in. A room designed for appetite and conversation. If cigarettes were still allowed, you could almost imagine someone chain smoking over a third glass of wine while arguing about literature or the affair they're having. But this is still Boulder, where the fantasy stops just short of the inevitable side-eye and civic disapproval. And then there is the gauze-wrapped lemon. The first time I ever saw one of those mesh bundles tied up for squeezing over seafood, I thought it was the height of sophistication and luxury. The gauze has the faint sexiness of pantyhose while also serving a very practical purpose. A factory worker's kid like me being mesmerized by a lemon condom probably tells you something about aspiration in America. I started with the pâté, which was exactly the right kind of decadent. I paid the extra charge to swap the crostini for bread, which was absolutely the correct decision. I ate about a third and boxed the rest before things got irresponsible. The Boulder influence...nah. The accompaniments were classic: grainy mustard, tiny olives, and a small pile of pickled vegetables cutting through all that pâté richness. The bouillabaisse was mostly lovely. The seafood was cooked expertly, which matters in a dish where every type requires slightly different timing. The shrimp were especially sweet. I would have liked more cod, which felt a little stingy, and while the saffron broth was flavorful, it leaned more tomato-forward than I personally prefer. Still, between the mussels, shrimp, cod, rouille-slathered toast, and that absurdly elegant lemon situation, the fisherman's stew delivered exactly the kind of brasserie pleasure I came searching for. Service at the bar was confident and relaxed. Two bartenders understood the balance between attentiveness and hovering. Not doting, which I don't need, but every need was met. Real napkins. A dedicated, and attended, host stand. People who seemed comfortable in the room instead of performing hospitality theater. Not an everyday lunch. You notice the prices. You should. But every once in a while, it's good to sit somewhere that still believes lunch can stretch a little too long, conversation matters, and a gauze-wrapped lemon can still feel faintly glamorous. There may be no cigarette smoke, no Left Bank argument unfolding over wine, no real salon except the one you briefly imagine. But Brasserie Ten Ten still knows how to make lunch feel like an act of civilization: linen, appetite, conversation, and just enough theatre to make the afternoon seem...negotiable. Gertrude Stein probably would've approved.

My husband had the happy hour special of the evening, a very large serving of large mussels with grilled sourdough and a lucious broth. We also had some small plate tapas and I mostly grazed those. I love Bocarones and they do it so well though for me last night, the peppers were a bit too spicy. But I got the majority of the little fishies, my husband the peppers.. We also had the tortilla papas and the charred Hazel Dell mushrooms which were excellent. The little salad topping on the tortilla was full of specialty greens like fennel fronds and pea shoots. The mushrooms has a warm egg yolk on top to stir into the dressing which was tasty. We finished with their flan which was as good as my Spanish born neighbor made in my youth.
