Anyway it was nice that we were able to sit outside on the rooftop in December. The rooftop was heated nice! The have special areas you can reserve for special Occasions. Just my luck a baby shower was going on and children were running all over. Parking is available in municipal parking areas. The wings were decent. I would go back during happy hour only! Rating is closer to a 3.5 Ambiance: casual with a little trend I've been going to Bourbon Street for years. Recently, they have definitely improved their menu, adding some more interesting dishes (my favorite being the skirt steak sandwich with onion rings ON it--YUM). However, I still find their menu to be over-priced and some of their dishes seem to be lacking. On to the night life: (Obviously--it's a bar on Bell!) The mood definitely changes when the sun goes down. More of a party atmosphere is given with loud music and great drinks. Drinks aren't badly priced and they have a decent amount of beers on tap with a variety of tasty cocktails on the menu. So, go try some new New Orleans-style food and grab a few tasty drinks! Went to the rooftop bar last Friday. What a pleasant welcoming surprise location in Bayside. Besides it's totally relaxing and very comfortable. Big bar sofas tables and calypso music (last week). A little pricey and minimums are required at the tables. But if you're looking for decent drinks and decent food I highly recommend it. Most of all we had a wonderful waitress named Catherine. She was attentive suggested menu items (keep in kind the menu is different than the actual restaurant. Less formal more snack fun foods. Again not cheap but you get what you pay for. She is a rare find in the service area. She made this whole dining experience even better. I would give five stars since everything really was perfect I just feel it's a little overpriced. read more

I see alot of negative reviews on here, but personally I had a good experience here. I came to meet up with some old friends for brunch on a Sunday and had a pleasant time. The service was a bit slow, however, the restaurant was packed, so I expected it to be that way. The brunch is a great value. You can get a mimosa or a bloody mary (if my memory is correct) free with your brunch. They also give you fruit saald and a bread basket that has bagels and muffins too. I ordered the banana waffles and they were very good. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. Only thing, was that we had a few non beef eaters and this place didn't have turkey or chicken sausage/bacon. But hey, not every place does. At the end of our meal they gave us crumb cake and coffee. I was STUFFED! I believe my meal totaled maybe $15.00. Not bad at all! Plus since it was around the holidays, they gave us all a $10 coupn toward our next visit. read more

I came here for Sunday Brunch group of 5 got seated right away. There's huge tv screens everywhere more like a large sports bar. Brunch included a basket of breads and small muffin and a bowl of fruit for the table. The breads were good but I mean it was standard nothing crazy. We asked for cream cheese but never got them and needed glasses to be replaced (a lil dirty) For brunch I had the breakfast burrito it was a large portion and included breakfast potatoes with sausage links or bacon. They placed the guacamole inside but the burrito I don't know needed something maybe like a salsa. I added hot sauce my friend added ketchup. I've had better. The breakfast potatoes n sausage were good. At the end of the meal they brought out coffee cake which was super moist and were good. My wife and I ate here last weekend. Our waitress was Eleanor. She was friendly, courteous, and professional. When I mentioned I have food allergies she wrote them all down and assured me that nothing in my meal would be cross contaminated with any allergens. I was comfortable eating everything that I ordered. Overall the food and service were great. We loved the mac and cheese with buffalo shrimp. The shrimp were large and the buffalo breading gave them a nice kick without being too spicy. My only complaint was about the crab cakes. They said "lump" crab cakes on the menu but when we got them, I noticed that they had a lot of filler (bread crumbs and peppers). We ended up sending them back. I would recommend Bourbon Street to anyone who is looking for a unique dinner place with a cajun twist in an elegant yet casual environment. I had ordered crab cakes and my bf ordered the blackened shrimp as appetizers, and they were both awesome. We also ordered a bowl of the lobster bisque to share and that was also delicious. For our main entrees I had the grilled salmon w/ rice and mixed vegetables. I personally didn't like the taste of my salmon but my boyfriend did so he wanted to box what I didn't eat. So, I came back to this restaurant for the 2nd time. I ate at bourbon street maybe 2.5 years before I returned again. The first time food was delicious and the service was good. I remember what I got too. I got the skirt steak! Coming back here and reminiscing on how good the skirt steak was last time, I got it again. It wasn't as good as I remembered. It wasn't tender and was a little chewy. My boyfriend got their baby back ribs... They had no flavor. They weren't seasoned at all. It was plain cooked ribs with globs of bbq sauce all over it. That was disappointing. The only decent thing I received was the salad they brought before my meal. Their balsamic vinaigrette is delicious. Other than that... The service was very good. Greeting? Remember that I said that the plate was piled on with food? She carried three of those five pound plates with just two arms. She still kept good spirits although I can see the tired look on her face. 2.5 stars Came here for a 60th birthday party. It is not as bad as everyone says it is, but it definitely isn't a place I would come back to. Not sure how much everything cost as it was a party package, but it seemed more on the inexpensive side for a party. Very low key and simple. I came on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm, place is relatively empty but we had a section of the restaurant blocked off to ourselves. The table was set with fruit cups and a basket of muffins, bagels, grain crackers as the "starters" and also trays in the form of cars that had a lot of candy inside. I ordered a calamari salad as my entree and I at most just picked at it. The calamari was fine (BTW it was fried, which was not specified on the menu), but there was just so much salad dressing on the salad. The ceasar dressing was too much for my liking. It tasted like the type of salad you would get at the salar bar at pizza hut, pre-made and have been sitting there for hours. The waitress we had didn't even mention her name, but its okay. She had a few tables, which I don't think she was able to handle. We were done eating and the empty plates sat on the table until the owner came by and picked them up. I bought this groupon as a joke. We'd walked past the Bourbon Street in Manhattan and decided it looked like the worst place on earth. So, obviously we bought the groupon and headed out to Queens to commemorate our trip to NOLA last year. It ended up being really fun. The food was much better I expected. It was a lot like home cooking - the sort of thing you'd have on a Sunday night or when guests were over. Meals even came with fresh steamed veggies. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They really went the extra mile to make sure everyone was having a nice night. Aside from the cheesy decor, it was actually a really great experience. They add a 18% service charge, which made tipping awkward (I wanted to leave more than 18%, but still felt weird leaving what seemed like such a small tip). read more

I do, however, completely understand that many visitors to New Orleans-themed establishments are unable to endure the highly seasoned and often-spicy cuisine. But the only dish my other half and I could really enjoy was the huge Caesar salad, which we split. The seafood platter we shared as an entree was covered in some sort of cornmeal batter that had an inexplicably unpleasant texture. What was worse was the seafood didn't seem fresh at all adding to the bland taste. We ordered Red Beans and Rice as our side and that was equally flavorless. I was reluctant to even try it when it was brought to our table because it was served with some sort of sauteed onions and tomatoes on top -- something you would never find in New Orleans; Red Beans and Rice are simply served with a sprinkling of fresh (or dried) parsley. Sadly, we felt like we wasted our money but on the positive side, the bartender and server were pretty good and so was the atmosphere. Bottom line is this: if you're looking for authenticity in Creole and Cajun food, this isn't the place. But if you're ok with cocktails and friends, this is your spot. read more

The management and employees of this idyllic place are truly amazing. I've had the good fortune to dine in the restaurant or enjoy a cocktail at the bar over the years. However the relatively recent rooftop addition replete with skyline views of Manhattan makes Bourbon Street an absolutely unique and must-have experience. Recently, we were in need of a location on short notice for a family reunion of sorts. The rooftop deck which comfortably accommodated more than 100 people was perfect and even included a musician. A buffet that featured a wide variety of offerings was enviable, whether skirt steak, grilled salmon, Caesar salad, dessert, or the bountiful children's offerings, everyone who attended was simply blown away at how indescribably positive their experience was. I am deeply grateful to the thoughtful staff and management of this wonderful place and look forward to seeing it continue to flourish. A friend suggested I have a first date at Bourbon Street after I said I was going to go to Press. And I had a hankering for some gumbo, so it seemed like the perfect fit. There were several big crowds having dinner, which I thought was impressive for a Monday night in Bayside. Our server was friendly & just the right amount of eager. It was nice to be on a first date and not feel rushed to decide on drinks or food. Everything came out on time, which was great. However, my date ordered the skirt steak medium rare. I noticed when he first cut into it, it had no pink whatsoever. I also noticed that he barely touched when the waiter came to clear the table. I ordered one of the specials, chicken shrimp jambalaya. It wasn't as hot & spicy as the server said but she already had a feeling and brought me hot sauce before I asked. But I've never had such a saucy jambalaya. For Bayside, I found the prices to be on the high side which worried me about portion size. (I'm a light eater.)
