The Parmesan garlic fries were amazing and the box burger is delicious. Instead of using boring lettuce the use arugula and spinach which have the burger a more bitter taste which I enjoyed. They also cooked it medium rare which I appreciated. I would definitely go back. read more

This was a unique experience. I came here with a friend after craving some waffles and seeing their yelp reviews. It was a little difficult to find and it wasn't well marked. It's essentially a bar that serves food. The decor is interesting. There's some color and mixed vintage furniture likely picked up at garage sales and such. Our server was spectacular. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. Our order did get messed up, but when we called it over she knew it right away and fixed it. She couldn't stop apologizing about it. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and appreciated how well taken care of we were here. We would totally come back here again!!! read more

So happy with this discovery! Stopped by after hitting up Market, and it's now my favorite place around there. Great selection for pretty cheap (under $10). I got their grilled cheese, which came with gouda, manchego, and honey on top, which was surprisingly a good touch. Their fries are also well seasoned. Food was very average and cost kind of high for just a sandwich. I ordered a side of garlic fries but got plain cold fries. You can order to go or you can get your food and eat at the bar next door. This place has amazing food. Walk up to the door and, prepare to get blown away. Got the burger, brussel sprouts and potatoes skins. This is hand crafted top notch eats in a funky back alley setting right next to the Tempest bar ( which is a killer little dive bar with loads of cool ). Food is good in general. Kitchen Staff seems to get it. Menu changes frequently,usually about 10 items available. Can be bit pricey, yet the food quality is pretty good and tasty. My burger was cooked perfectly, dripping with juice as I bit into it. Just the way I like it, side of french fries were not as pleasing. Had wings and others things in the past, quite good for bar food. Yet the Box is more that bar food, it's a hole in the wall that pumps out quality original comfort food with a bit of a twist. Lunch wait is probably 10-15 mins. Night time varies. If your OK to spend $10+ - $15 for most items you'll enjoy yourself at the box kitchen. read more

This is quite possibly the best take-out food I have ever eaten... in my life. We ordered the Elote and Falafel Patty Melt. The Elote was a flavor rush with the combination of the garlic aioli, queso fresco, cilantro, and jalapeño. The Patty Melt was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, with the falafel cooked nice and crispy to give the sandwich texture. The order took about 12 minutes, and we're going back tomorrow for the nachos. Definitely swing by this place if you're in SoMa. read more

The Box has one of the best (if not best) hamburger in San Francisco. BOOM. There, I said it. It's a simple grind and well seasoned - the way it should be. With that said, you don't need to add anything else to this burger, you animal. Unless of course you're having it next door at Tempest (another fantastic spot). However, the bun was the part I did not like about the meal. It was out of place in the sandwich because it is too thick and dry. The bun made it seem like you just had a mouthful of bread.
