I arrived on Monday at 8:45 and was seated immediately. Had a cheerful greeting from two of the waitresses, and a cup of hot coffee within two minutes. Blanca served me again and she was cheerful upbeat and a big smile on her face. The food arrived within five minutes was hot and tasty. The staff is very slow. We were sat down at our table and we got our drinks right away. The host was great, unfortunately, I can not say the same about the waitress. We saw the waitress 6 times, not once did she ask to take our order. She came outside to refill drinks for a party that was already eating. They were really quick about getting others seated.shortly after took order at other table that arrived after us. When she finally asked to take our order. I kindly asked for the check to pay for our drinks. She asked why. I explained we have been sitting here for over 35 mins. She said let me find out why. I probably end up here a couple of times a month. It's good for a family meal or hanging out with friends. Always good food and good value. Yesterday, we had two entrees and the total was less than $30. I think we've tried everything from breakfast to the Mexican food. The service was not good. We ordered an omelette and asked for spinach, that clearly didn't have spinach. My Chilaquiles were basically nachos, since it was tortilla chips with a nasty/sour green sauce that was poured over it. Not a traditional way of making chilaquiles. When I let our server know, he said that "people complain that the chips are too soggy", instead only offering to bring more salsa. As far as the service, we were completely ignored. The server helping the other table just had attitude all over her face. Never once offered us water or coffee, when she passed with both pitchers multiple times. Our server only came out twice and didn't offer a water refill until he brought over the check. I had to ask one of bussers for a coffee refill! HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE! We were served old, moldy, brown edged lettuce salads to start off our lunch. By the man in the blue shirt behind the counter. My husband said he was the Manager. The waitress said she couldn't believe he actually served us the salads. So she made us new salads from a fresh bag. And put cucumbers and tomatoes on top with croutons. Husbands hamburger was okay, he said. My Albondigas soup consisted of 4 meatballs, a few carrot slices, and a little piece of a potato. No zucchini or cabbage or onion. Absolutely flavor less!! It was like tomato soup with meatballs. When I had this soup at the Indiana location, it was delicious and full of onion, zucchini, carrot, potato and a few meatballs. We're sticking with the Indiana/Tyler location. Service there is great and food is consistently delicious! Magnolia location is nice inside and outside. Wish the food was good too. read more

It is very rare that I give one star ratings, but honestly this place deserves it. I normally steer clear of Brandon's because I just don't find the food good at all and I've had horrible service in the past at the other location. When my mom recently suggested this Brandons for breakfast, I decided to just give them another try thinking it would be better than the one on Indiana. It wasn't busy at all inside when we arrived so thankfully, we were sat fairly quickly. Our server came and took our order and shortly after, four other tables near us were sat. My mom made a joke to me that we got there at a good time because so many people had just come in all at once. With that being said, all four of those tables ended up getting their food before we did. We weren't given any refills like they were all given, no update on the food, nothing. By this time, about 30 minutes had already gone by since we have ordered and one of the tables was already finishing up with their food. Another server noticed that our food was not out yet so she went back to check on it. A few minutes later, she came back around with it. Finally, my food came out first and I instantly was disappointed. I ordered the chile verde plate and it came with four small pieces of meat, nothing more. I would understand if I had gotten that small amount of pork with the huevos rancheros, but for the plate? Really? $16 for that? I took one bite and it was barely lukewarm. It felt like it had been sitting out for a while. Also, it just WASNT GOOD. I thought to myself, wow, what a waste of money? :( About a minute later, my moms food came out and it ended up being the wrong thing. She just so happened to order the same thing as the woman seated next to us who had made some special substitutes to alter her meal. When she first got hers, I overheard her complaining to her husband that her order was wrong but she still decided to eat it. When my moms came, we realized that she was eating my moms food and my mom was eating hers. My mom kindly brought it up to the server who proceeded to basically gaslight us all into thinking that is what they ordered. My mom was trying to be cool about it and was going to let it slide, but the server made it seem as if we were the ones who made the mistake instead of just admitting it got mixed up. The woman next to us was already finished but understandably frustrated so before my mom ate hers, she sent it back. We figured we already were paying for one awful meal so it just didn't make sense to pay for something with special requests that we didn't order. We got seated first, got our food last, didn't get a single refill, were given the wrong order, and basically got screwed over with the chile verde. I read the receipt and saw that it was in fact rung in the way my mom ordered it, without all of the special requests. I still paid and left a tip, but I will never return. That's okay though because there are plenty of people with no taste buds who will continue to support this place so good for them. read more

Can I rate it at ZERO STARS?!?!? Boy, has Brandon's Diner changed!!!! They used to have good food and service, although at somewhat higher than average prices. Not any more. We were told three different policies - by three different employees. One was the Manager. The first one (hostess) was confused. The second one (waitress) was rude. The third one (manager) was fake-nice, but condescending. In the end, we left, after paying $7.50 for two iced teas - and went elsewhere. Part of me is sad that I will NEVER take my family and friends to another Brandon's Diner. But I will NEVER again be treated like that by them. I am left to assume that they make so much money that they can afford to alienate customers at random. Unfortunately, I urge everyone to stay away from Brandon's Diner. Taco Tuesday is my wife and favorite night to hang out at Brandon's on Magnolia. But tonight 4-26-22 was anything than pleasurable. Every waitress informed us that the kitchen was behind due to the fact that the cook who just happened to be the Kitchen manager was unable to turn food order in a timely manner. We actually canceled our taco order and opted to have a baked potato because those are in a steamer and is a quick turn dish. But sad to say that even took over 30 minutes. The cook had every waitress scared to death to even put up tickets. How sad when a manager of a kitchen can't run the back of house and get tickets up and out in a timely manner. As a longtime customer I will continue to come to our favorite location here on Magnolia. We made sure to encourage you waitresses to hang in there and keep smiling. A bad day in the life of a short order cook doesn't crate an emergency on our part. read more
