I planned a vacation for my family and we just happened to be passing by Pleasanton and we stopped by on a Sunday for lunch. Got seated right away. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and has a nice outdoor patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now for the most important part, here is what we got! The kids tried the lucuma ice cream 10/10 Pan con chicharon- 10/10 just like how I tried when I was in Peru Aji de gallina 10/10 Bravazo burger 10/10 I would travel an hour and a half again just for this food

This was our second visit to Bravazo on Main Street, and it definitely didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a spot that balances quality food with impressive efficiency, this is it. The Food We explored a few different items this time: * Bravazo Scramble: This was the absolute star of the meal. It's a hearty mix of three eggs, bell peppers, hot links, and spinach, all topped with a layer of crispy cheese that really takes it to the next level. It's served with toast, a great spicy sauce, and some of the best breakfast potatoes we've had anywhere. * Chicken Salad Sandwich: Served on fresh sourdough with a house-made spicy sauce that gave it a nice kick. Very satisfying. * Latte: We ordered it extra hot with sugar-free vanilla syrup, and it was crafted perfectly. The Atmosphere & Service [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant--perfect for a casual downtown meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What really stood out was the speed. The service is both fast and friendly; we were in and out in about 40 minutes, which is impressive for a sit-down meal that still feels high-quality. Bottom Line: Whether it's your first time or your second, Bravazo is a consistent winner in Pleasanton. Highly recommended for a quick yet delicious breakfast or lunch!

Bravado opened a year ago where Downtown Cafe once was. Inside and outside dining space. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside has vanilla walls with some pics thereon. Flatscreen in front tuned to golf.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Assigned a corner table upon entering. Ordered. Food arriving 10ish minutes later. Offerings (Peruvian): breakfast, starters, cold bar, smash burgers,, chef's special. classics, fusion, desserts... Bites: disappointed fish of day was farm salmon, skipped ceviche, raw fish. -bravado huancaina (14) Peeled boiled potatoes covered with creamy sauce of queso fresco & yellow Peruvian pepper. Had a spicy kick. Garnished with 1/2 boiled egg, tomato halves, greens. Deliz! Pan con Chicharron (20) -street food sandwich with juicy slices of slow cooked pork & roasted sweet potato. Sauced with Bravazo aioli & zesty salsa Criolla. baguette sandwich. More tasty than a Cubano. 5 stars Worthy! Quantity: reasonable.pricey but worth it. Quality: made to order. Artisan ingredients..

tasty roasted corn kernels. Watch your fillings though!

I am really committed to try and review all the great food places in downtown Pleasanton as there are many unique cuisines from all over the world that we have available to try out with many of them not being chains so its a great place to try out different foods from around the world. One such spot is Bravazo specializing in Peruvian cuisine, which I am not intimately familiar with so excuse my ignorance as this was my first experience with this type of food but if this is what I can expect I am moving Peru up my list of places to go for a food vacation! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As with many of the restaurants in this downtown row of places you the interior is smaller and more intimate but definitely has a bright and clean look to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seats a max of 40-44 people inside I believe so it can fill up pretty fast but very comfortable and lively environment and spaced out well so you will not feel cramped which is a plus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Friendly server gave her recommendations as we were new to this place and unfortunately were out of some of the most popular items so get in earlier if you want the full selection. Was especially sad they were out of ALL their empanandas as that was the only item I was familiar with and wanted to try so they must be awesome and I need to try them out next time. You get some complimentary snack of roasted corn kernels while you check out the small but broad ranged menu. These are a great snack and I need a bag of these at home immediately now. Decided on the Aji de Gallina (shredded chicken with yellow pepper sauce) and the Pan Con Asado (tri tip sandwich). Added a fresh Passion Fruit juice which seemed to be 100% pure passion fruit and was delicious. Our dishes were served relatively quickly and we were able to dive into both with great anticipation and our expectations were exceeded immediately! The Aji de Gallina was amazing and I never knew yellow pepper could be the base of such a light but still complex flavor. Paired amazing with with the chicken and potato slices and the garlic rice was perfectly seasoned and not overpowering in anyway. Such an amazing combination of flavors and perfectly balanced so highly recommend this as a "safe" dish for those who are apprehensive on what to tackle as a first Peruvian dish, at least in my opinion. The Pan Con Asado was a meaty boy of a big sandwich and packed to the brim with meat and an assortment of veggies but the meat was the star of the show for sure. The lower bagguette base was crushed on the weight of the meat, has browns veggies and sauce and that was the only thing I wished was a bit more stable in terms of actually being able to lift the sandwich and take a proper bite out of bit as it was, it sort of fell apart under the weight of its own magnificence and I was happy to fork and knife the rest of it. A top tier sandwich but I was sort of searching for more hash browns to compliment the meat. The tri tip was more of a pulled pork type texture though so I was a bit confused but still loved every bite. Prices were fair for the food portions you get and friendly staff round out the this great lunch/brunch spot. I think I love Peruvian food just based on this first experience so far. I cannot wait to get back to this place and try some of the other dishes and hopefully get there early enough to try some Empanadas!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]we were greeted immediately once walking in there is indoor seating and outdoor seating we sat patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the empanadas which came out very quickly. All of our drinks came out very quickly as well. All of our food dishes took no longer than 5 to 7 minutes. We had chicken empanadas and also beef empanadas very delicious flaky and buttery 5/5 Also had the salmon ceviche which i'm used to the shrimp ceviche, but the salmon ceviche with the citrus onions gave a great flavor 4/5 shredded chicken with rice and potatoes. Just wish that it had a few more potatoes with the sauce that sauce 5/5 And I had their traditional corn drink that has cinnamon on top was really good gave non-alcoholic sangria 5/5 We also ordered a vanilla latte which doesn't come sweetened so all coffees you do either have to ask for sugar on the side or they do offer vanilla syrup. We do wanna go back and try the desserts!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did see a video on this restaurant through tik tok so I was excited to try. The breakfast hot link burrito was yummy with the melted exterior cheese. I do think the hot link was a great pairing. It was a huge burrito so we had it for another meal. The empanadas were good and packed with flavor but it contained raisins and I'm not too big of a fan of those in savory dishes. Overall everything was great and I'd try other dishes during dinner time.

Excellent experience for a group lunch last week. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is nice. Can be a bit loud though (echoing).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were nice, and explained what the dishes were. Water was refreshed often. - Orange Spice Tea: this was a unique taste, a bit spicy. - Chicha-Morada: nice refreshing taste - Maracuya-Passion Fruit Juice: also refreshing - Pan con Chicharron: this is one of their signature dishes. Did not disappoint. Crispy but tender pork slices, great aioli. - Beef Empanada: excellent - Causa: looks like a layered silo with the ingredients. Excellent taste. - Fish of the day: didn't ask diner, assume it was also good. It's not the cheapest place, but the food is well made, and tasty. Will definitely come back!

Really great experience, would definitely come back and recommend to friends. First I noticed the great service. Service in these smaller restaurants is usually good but this one specifically was exceptional. Servers were friendly and patient, and helpful. Food was amazing, I had the Pan Con Chicharron and Peruvian cookie, both insanely good. Sandwich was amazingly textured and thoughtlly crafted in flavor, and cookie was light, airy, and had a great light caramel flavor. Probably the best cookie i've had in my life. Prices are fair for what you get, it's amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Finally I have to say the atmosphere is great, just a really amazing, clean space. Everything felt really clean and taken care of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also the first 10/10 restaurant bathroom I've ever seen. Nicer than some hotels even.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be coming back. Thank you Bravazo team!

Everyone here was really nice despite being overloaded with orders and customers! We ordered the pan con chicharron and fettuccine with lomo saltado. The pan con chicharron was soooo good!! The perfect sandwich with a nice pepper sauce on the side. I loved the sweetness of the yam paired with the savory meat and cut with some tangy red onions!! This really hit the spot and I would come back just for it! Next up, the fettuccine with lomo saltado has a cheese sauce that wasn't too overpowering. I was surprised because I was expecting the cheese flavor to smack you in the face, but no it was subtle, yet rich. The best part of the lomo saltado next to it had to be the tomatoes because how in the world was it grilled so well, soft and bursts with flavor in your mouth?? The meat was cooked to a good medium, wasn't tough, and the sauce pulled it all together. For info purposes, the kitchen was a little backed up so there was a wait. We arrived at 1:10pm and waited for a little over an hour to be seated and order. This was a saturday, so a heads up if you're interested in visiting! I'm not letting this long wait affect my review because I came here solely for the food

First time trying Peruvian food last Saturday for a late lunch and everything was fantastic!! Carlos was our server and was very friendly and had excellent recommendations. We ordered the pan con chicharron, ceviche with red snapper as the fresh fish of the day, and the lomo saltado. For dessert we had the choco-lucuma trifle, per Carlos's recommendation. The pan con chicharron was my favorite! I love the combination of the slow cooked pork paired with the aioli, salsa, and sweet potato inside. The bread was toasted perfectly and was so good! I really love the taste of fresh bread! The hot sauce also really enhanced the flavor! Carlos brought us extra hot sauce because I mentioned how good it was!! (I also bought a bottle of hot sauce at the end of our meal because I loved it so much) The ceviche was fantastic! It is different from the kind of ceviche I am used to but in a good way! I love the added crunch from the corn nuts. The red snapper worked really well in this dish. The corn and sweet potato works surprisingly well in this dish. This was my boyfriend's favorite. Can't go wrong with the ceviche here! The lomo saltado is marinated filet mignon strips served with veggies and garlic rice. It was also very delicious!! I recommend you try the dish with a bite of everything at a time (rice, meat, veggies), trying the meat itself was a bit too much on its own. I forgot to ask if this dish had the option to customize its doneness, since I usually like eating steak medium rare. The meat was cooked medium well, but it was still really tender and delicious! The choco-lucuma trifle tastes like a dulce de leche mousse with chocolate fudge and a layer of a crunchy chocolate at the base. Loved the flavor combination! And it was sweet but not too sweet, which was perfect for us! I like that there is indoor and outdoor seating. They also have coffee and some pastries up front! Definitely recommend this place! Will be dreaming about the food until the next time I come back!!!

Beef empanada - filled with beef and hard boiled egg, so yummy!

We came here after I saw an IG reel featuring this restaurant! All the dishes looked so good and I don't see a lot of Peruvian food in the Trivalley so definitely wanted to give this family ran restaurant a try :) What we ordered (ranked from fav to least): - Pan con chicharron $20 - Smash burger (not on the menu) - Empanada (beef) $7 - Causa $18 & Yuca a la huancaina $14 - Crispy breakfast burrito $20 (didn't try this, packed leftovers home cuz we were too full) We also tried the inka kola beverage which tasted like bubblegum and looked like Mountain Dew haha I would say def order the Pan con Chicharron!! All 3 of us liked it and ranked it as number 1. No wonder it has a star next to it on the menu. And the smash burger took us by surprise.. our server introduced it to us since it's not on the menu. They have an option to order with the fries or hash brown (next time I would get with hashbrowns since the fries aren't as crispy as I normally like to have them) The lomo soltado on the menu sounded really good too, almost ordered that but the $42 price tag made me want to save it for next visit lol

This place is amazing! Food is so good, the Peruvian ceviche with the large corn was so refreshing citrusy and lil spicy. Perfect start to a meal The smash burger is solid. Meaty and cheesy and with Peruvian spices for a lil kick The chicharron sandwich is my favorite! If this is your first time at Bravazo u gotta get it! The choco lucuma was a pleasant dessert. First time having lucuma and it's a nice zesty fruit. Overall this place blew my expectations, highly recommend when craving Peruvian food.

The Food: Street Food Double: The chutneys were incredibly flavorful, pairing perfectly with the well-cooked chickpeas. The bara pockets were wonderfully soft and delicious. Beef Patties: The pastry was beautifully crisp and savory. The spiced short rib filling was a total delight--it had a nice kick to it without being overly spicy, which I loved. Oxtail Stew: Generous portion size with plenty of chunky meat that literally falls off the bone. It was perfectly marinated in a great blend of spices. Pairing the stew with a side of their coconut rice is highly recommended! Banana Bread Pudding: Having heard so much hype about this, it was just alright for me. It was cooked perfectly and I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, but it lacked a real wow factor. The Drinks: Red Wine Sangria: Really nice, refreshing, and fruity. Chase The Devil: Fun to try if you want something different, and it has a decent kick, but I would probably skip it next time. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. On top of that, the servers are friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Definitely worth a visit!

The platter was great, the beef especially was perfectly medium rare and was tender thru every bite. The roasted vegetables included in the platter included Brussel sprouts and cauliflower which were also beautifully caramelized. My partner enjoyed her mushroom pasta, the ridges on the pasta absorbed every bit of the delicious white sauce. Happy to come back, I think the patio space makes it perfect for families of all ages. The ambiance is cute with a small closed off glass area of wine and two seater table inside! Our waitress Dominique was amazing. She was able to give great recommendations for wines and food. She also made us feel taken cared of and was friendly/warm. The food is a mix of mexican/euro/american so there were a lot of different options. Here are the things we got: Appetizers - Parm crusted cauliflower: so good, nice and crunchy but not too heavily breaded. The chipotle mayo was delish - Chicharrones: so light and crispy! They were hot out of the fryer. It had a side of a corn cheese dip that was so good and made it more unique of a dish -- must try if you even kind of eat chicharrones. I don't generally like pork skin but I enjoyed it regardless. - Hamachi ceviche: this is a large sharing portion with chunks of hamachi and avocado. Good but not a must have. Entrees - Enchiladas: very cheesy and overall a good dish but I would skip this. - Shrimp tostadas: large size shrimp and it just comes with two tostadas so I don't think it was worth the price - Barramundi fillet: The fish was tender and juicy. I liked the marinades that came with it. I liked this dish with the rice because it made me feel homey. Good portion of fish. - Agua Chile Ribeye: This is a must have! The ribeye is sous vide so it was soo tender and juicy. The broth was really nice to keep everything moist and flavorful. Because we were celebrating a birthday, Dominique made a dessert with a nice special touch. Will definitely be back again!

Unfortunately, the food experience didn't live up to the service. Charging extra for chips and salsa at what is essentially a Mexican restaurant (even if it's branded as "Southwestern") was disappointing, especially when the salsa portion was so small. Chips and salsa are such a staple that it felt out of place to pay extra for them. The biggest issue, though, was the tortillas. They weren't heated, which made them feel dry and mealy and they fell apart while eating the tacos. The steak itself was flavorful, but the tortillas made it difficult to enjoy what could have been a really good dish. I genuinely hope they make a few adjustments because the people there were fantastic, the drinks were excellent, and this place has a lot of potential.

I was here for an art show last night, but honestly? The food ended up being the masterpiece. We essentially tried to defeat the menu and the menu won. 10/10, no notes. The Highlights: Hawaiian Sliders: Absolutely bomb. The perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about them 24 hours later. Crispy Quesatacos with Chicken Tinga: Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with flavor. It's hard to find chicken Tinga in a crispy Quesataco this authentic in a pop-up setting, but they nailed it flavor bomb Pupusas & Tacos: My friend and I went in on these and they did not disappoint. The pupusa was thick, cheesy, and had that perfect crisp on the outside. The Verdict: There wasn't a single miss on the menu. I even grabbed an extra haul to take home to my husband--usually, "to-go" food loses its soul on the car ride home, but he was obsessed. I'm already checking their schedule to see where they'll be next. If you want to eat the best food in San Francisco right now, this is it.

The wait was significant, but they were super upfront about that, which I appreciated. The chicken tinga was the standout - super tasty! The pork was also really nice, but be warned, the quesataco is rich and filling. I couldn't quite make it. The asado was nice, but basic. Overall, very solid!

When I arrived, the doors were locked, but I rang the bell outside and was let in. My online order wasn't ready so I waited in the lobby where there were a few chairs set up. It was musty inside and slightly uncomfortable on this hot day, but at least the small space was clean and inviting. Even though my order wasn't ready till 10 minutes after my pickup time, staff was warm and friendly in our brief interactions on site, so I wasn't disappointed with the service. I tried four different empanadas from their menu. The mushroom, ham & cheese, and deep fried cheesy empanadas were super tasty, made fresh with quality ingredients, lots of flavor packed into a flaky shell, it's hard to pick a fave among these three. The deep fried beef empanada was my least favorite, the consistency was off, and I'm not even sure it was properly prepared or cooked all the way, as it was slightly cold, barely lukewarm, in the middle. The milder of their two sauces (huacatay) was indeed mild, lacking in any spice at all, it really didn't taste like anything to me. Luckily, the empanadas were good without it. I had a satisfying experience overall.

Since I was in the area today, I finally went in to get my chicken tamal (if you're not familiar with Salvadorean tamales, they're sooo worth a try! They're wrapped in banana leaves instead of corn and are much more soft and moist). These were $6/tamal. Kinda pricey but they are a bit bigger than most-however the size is moreso due to the amount of masa to meat ratio, which I don't mind since I do love the masa parts. I do wish their chicken was either more shredded or more flavored since some bites of chicken were on the dry side. The bites that wern't so dry were delicious though! Looking at their pics/reviews now it seems other people have tried other kinds of tamales, but I only saw one option on the menu so that's what I went with. All in all, not my absolute favorite tamales, but it hits the spot.

Although I have seen…read morerestaurants offering them for as so long as I can remember I must admit I have never had any. So today was my day for an adventure. I found this El Salvador Restaurant nearby has decent review albeit not many though. It looked clean and tidy. Walking in around 11:45 am to an empty dimly lit dining, a lady behind the counter greeted me and told to sit anywhere. It was warm with no air circulating as the ceiling fans weren't turned on. I mentioned to her it was my first time having pupusa so she patiently pointed several options. Complimentary chips and salsa were served. I thought the salad needed something to give it kick. I chose lunch #1 that consists of 2 pupusa, plantains, red bed beans and sour cream; separately ordered a lemonade. The drink came short afterwards. It was lemony slightly sweet. My plate came hot as it should and the accompanying coleslaw and red sauce were brought over as well. Pickled coleslaw and red sauce were added to the top of my first pupusa which as the cheese a beans. It was too hot to hold by hand so I ate it with knife and fork. It was definitely something g I never had before. A little hot sauce helped. I wish the doughy covering wasn't so overwhelming as I would appreciate the filling much more. It was the same experience for the second pupusa that was the pork, cheese and beans. Finally the fried plantains, I haven't grown to appreciate at this point and this example didn't improve my opinion, I'm hate to admit. I wasn't sure how to apply the red beans and sour cream so I dipped the plantains in them. I guess I need some guidance. On this initial visit, overall, it definitely was a good experience, service was pleasant, food was good though not sure if it was a great representation of this particular good. But I felt it was a good experience and I'm quite open to trying other dishes here.
