Family just moved to Alaska and this is one of our favorite places! I've had the big dill (grilled cheese with dill pickles) and it was wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the environment is really relaxed. At dinner it is sit down to be served and at lunch it is order on your own. I recommend this to anyone with kids or without! This was my first visit here and I was very pleased with it. It's clean and quaint, it reminded me of places I'd go to grab lunch with friends outside of Alaska- someplace where you can grab a bite without breaking the bank and just hang out. I've seen reviews in the past comment on portions being too small for the price or sandwiches not coming with fries or chips unless you ordered them and paid the extra, but I definitely didn't have this problem. The portions were very generous and it came with a side of chips. The sandwich was very good and fresh like something you would make at home, but of course better. The only thing I will note is the staff should be mindful of the fact guests can hear them a little too well if they're seated near the kitchen door. read more

I've been hearing a lot of positive reviews about their grilled cheese sandwiches from around town. My friends and I stopped by today for lunch. You order from the counter as I've heard servers are for the dinner time and so, while ordering today, I asked if you could order a bar drink while placing your food order and I was surprised the cashier said yes. Then I thought I'd have to go pick up my own drink from the bar, but nope, they bring it to your table with your assigned number. Gotta say, I reeeeaaallllyy enjoyed my Great White Buffalo grilled cheese sandwich with a side of Pot Tots! Buffalo sauce is always a hit or miss with me but I loved this sandwich! My friend also noticed they had carabiners on the high top tables to hold your purse too. That was pretty neat. Another thing, we never had silverware so - I used my tater tots for the tomato soup that was served with my sandwich. Other than that, we got to meet the owner and hear the back story to the wolf as it's part of their logo and the wine bottle that kind of makes up the front legs or between the wolfs front legs, but while my friend notice that, I was admiring how big and roomy the front door was haha. Good draft selection of beers. Disappointed we got flat bread for the beer cheese and no silverware. Other than that, the atmosphere was great and not too busy/noisy. Parking wasn't that bad. First time here and because there is beer and it's near home had to try it out. Great selection of good beers on tap. For food we tried, the pepperoni flatbread, the pretzel and beer cheese, the bacon and Apple grilled cheese, Mac and cheese and a French dip. All were decent. The dip that comes with the grilled cheese is the tomato basil soup which was really good flavor. Oh and don't be afraid of the Apple on the grilled cheese...actually really good together. Beer cheese was good. The pretzel isn't a typical one. Tastes more like a bread roll so it's nice and soft. Still very good though, just different. Mac and cheese was good and homemade with some good cheeses and the toasty breadcrumbs on top. The decor is good. Relaxed seat yourself environment. Had a good crowd everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves. Looming forward to going back here and trying more menu items. My only complaint is food was a little slow coming out and all came out at the same time. Little slow to get first beers, etc. The server was moving though so not sure what the problem is there. I've been here 3 times. The first time was the busiest. They had been open 3 days. It was great service and food. The second time I came in right before closing. The server told me they were closing. She said she would have to ask if I could order a beer. There was a good 15-20 people in the place. I should have left but stayed. She said she could serve me and I watched as numerous people ordered additional beers and their food was brought out. Weird there's pending orders and you have to ask if I can have a 16oz beer. The third time I came in, we sat around for a long time without being greeted. Finally greeted and pretty poor service. The server didn't check on us, was on the phone in the back and busy sweeping. Never a smile. Empty beer so when she came to take our premeal dish, I suggested I order another, because, beer. She didn't ask. The food was ok but customer service could use work. The bartender seemed very friendly so maybe next time I'll sit there. I would suggest a MYOC. Make your own cheese. Throw the ingredients out there and let the patrons get creative. read more

Went here on a recommendation from someone out hiking. Omg! The tomato soup is the highlight. Not some red mess. Orange and cheesy. Lots and lots of cheese. And a hint of basil. Basil is a powerful herb that can overwhelm. They got this. They don't brew their own, but the tap selection is excellent. And the servers know their beers. Ordered five entrees and soup for a work meeting. I was the only one of us that had eaten at Bread and Brew before. Everyone was blown away by how good all of the food was. Despite living in a COVID world, people were fighting over the beer cheese sauce. I hadn't ever tried the pastrami sandwich before, and it was AMAZING. The black pepper sauce was delicious, and worked perfectly on the sandwich. I'm not a huge onion fan, so I almost excluded the onions. So glad I didn't! To start off, I found this place during the pandemic and The lady and I was hooked immediately. Staff was friendly and food was worth 5 stars. Over the last few weeks we've ordered through door dash and it's always taken over an hour. Figured too many components to figure out who was responsible. But today I called an placed an order for 2 grilled cheese with cups of soup at 12:15pm. I arrived 12:23. At about 1230 I approached the counter paid and, I was given a buzzer. As I sat and watched people cycle in and out, tables turned and new parties received their orders, I began concerned. I approached, spoke to Kayla, (who also took my order over the phone) and she went to check on my food. I was surprised to see It was the very last ticket, she came back and told me their was a miscommunication that they don't have it yet. I looked at the time and realized it was 1:02pm. Had to be back in the office by 1:15. Asked for a refund which she gave swiftly, asked for confirmation and she went n got the manager. Manager comes up, does not greet to me, doesn't apologize, doesn't introduce herself or explain to me what happened. I was a bit surprised because Kayla was a pleasure at customer service. So here I am leaving empty handed, after sitting patiently for quite awhile, watching people come in and get food, and I'm headed back to the office. Dreading the call to my lady to let her know she won't be getting her tomato soup and grilled cheese. Wish me luck guys. Bread and brew please do better. And don't hire managers that hate their life. It's one thing to be frustrated with mistakes during a busy hour is mother thing to completely forget what "service" means when your interacting with friendly , understanding, and hungry paying customers. This place used to be my favorite I am very sad that I have to give this review. Ordered with door dash which we've done hundreds of times. To start I ordered two drinks instead of calling with an alternative they just took it off my order which left me no drink with dinner. Also got my appetizer incorrect when I called they took my name and number so the manager could call with a resolution and I still have no call now being the day after. I had a poor experience a couple weeks ago with the sandwich I received but I said you know what let's give them another chance and this is what I ended up with. Went here for the first time this past week. I was excited to try it out because I had seen the mimosa flight on instagram. They have a good selection of beers and wine. When you visit B&B you order at a counter and your food is later delivered based off your number. I got the mimosa flight (delicious) and the Italian sandwich; which was a little too meaty for my taste. My boyfriend got the jalapeño popper grilled cheese. Neither of us tasted the jalapeños so he opened up and sure enough - there weren't any - so I'm not sure what happened there. It was still a decent sandwich but a bummer when you're looking for that specific flavor. Service is OK, nothing spectacular but you don't end up expecting much when you don't have an actual server. My main complaints are - no one was at either the counter or the bar the majority of the time so when something is wrong and you notice you don't really have the chance to bring it up. The food was good but missing a huge component makes it less appealing. We will definitely try it again. The atmosphere is good and I think they have something good going but just needs a little work. read more
