The parking outside is pretty awful, and the space itself is small, but the overall experience had been a good one. I got the chocolate chip griddle cakes and my brother got the cinnamon ones. Both were big and flavorful, though a little mushy in my opinion, and I didn't care for the iced coffee. However, the service was quick and friendly, and the prices are decent. I've been to the New York location a few times so I had no interest in going to the LA one but when on the west side Ordered: Griddled Pancakes - 5/5 - And the verdict is in that they're just as good as the one in NYC! My only caveat though is that this is the first time I had it on its own and its just way too sweet. I highly recommend getting eggs and another side just to balance off the sweet. Maybe I just couldn't handle it this time around and its okay if a diva is down every now and then Vibe: 4/5 Wayyyyy smaller than their sister location unfortunately. I have been wanting to try their oatmeal pancakes ever since we went to NYC 2 years ago. I didn't know there were in Cali! I finally got here, yesterday, and both my older kids and I were in "Yay Land!" We ordered each of the oatmeal pancakes, scrambled eggs and picnic ham. Man, we went to town! My kids loved the ham. They normally get bacon or regular sausage at other restaurants, but said this ham was "wow"! The crunchy edges of the pancakes with a soft almost-raw center was just what I had been craving for. The sweet butter was the perfect topping, no syrup needed. We ended buying the batter mix to take home. Also, coffee was very delicious. I don't take sugar in my coffee. When I do, it means coffee isn't that great...no sugar needed here. My son ordered the cold brew. No sugar needed. Service was great! We where well received by a tall young man who took care of everyone at the restaurant (place filled up after we arrived) all by himself. Today, we are going back before we head home. Yay! read more

I always ask restaurants, especially for breakfast, if they can cook with butter instead of oil, and sometimes that request is not received well. Here, it was the opposite. Eliseo, the chef, personally told us not to hesitate to mention any preferences and said they were happy to accommodate whatever we liked. That kind of care and hospitality means a lot. Pancakes were undercooked and inedible. To be clear, the outside of the cakes looked cooked, so I do understand how this could happen...but still, definitely undercooked in the middle of the cakes. They don't have maple syrup but instead put butter on top and it was joe salty the perfect amount to make the pancakes moist and it was the perfect bit of salt to balance out the sweetness. Disappointed. Imagine raving to your mom (whose fave meal of day is bfast) about this spot she'll love when she visits in town for Mother's Day. Only to feel embarrassed over such a poor experience and meal all around. I've had them a couple of times before via food delivery app but never "dine in" and the food was top tier. Unfortunately this was my first and last time "dining in" and I say that loosely because although the prices are full service breakfast restaurant prices, you order at the counter like some higher end fast food places and take a number. That was no issue. The issues were the food and service quality and overall ambiance: 1) the main reason for going- the pancakes, were not done fully. Picture your first time ever making pancakes where it 'looks' done but once you dive in it's full of gooey batter. Instead of making it right they simply just argued that, "that's how they always are". I know that's not the case because serving undercooked pancakes with batter present I'm sure would have accompanied a shutdown or less business. Also, I've eaten here plenty of times and never experienced this previously. 2. The service was poor due to how the above was handled. But also having to ask for the infamous cinnamon butter, which was always given complimentary with delivery orders. Simple things that typically come standard yet none was offered given or in plain sight to get ourselves. 3. It was obvious that although we arrived an hour before closing, they were rushed and it showed in the food and how we were treated. Moreover, imagine still eating and communing yet meanwhile they're putting chairs up all around you. The space is surprisingly tiny so this was a huge distraction and turn off to an already sour experience. 4. Also odd to see several non staff, or off shift staff perhaps, jumping off their bicycles and walking up to the counter to give items to the chef, who was still on duty, no gloves used or handwashing involved. read more

I'd been to the restaurant on Highland, but this was my first time trying one of their breakfast locations. The woman at the counter seemed nice enough, and I ordered their breakfast sandwich, which is egg, cheese and the sausage of your choice on a bun (I opted for chicken). Basic, but basic done well can be tasty. At that point, I found a seat and waited...and waited. After close to 20 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. I was told they were very busy (Saturday), and one guy who seemed perhaps to be in charge thanked me for my patience and said it would be about 5 more minutes. So I went back to my seat, at which point I realized that every single table or group of customers at the counter had a bottle of water--except for me. My sandwich finally arrived at the 24-minute mark. The man who placed it there didn't say a word--just unceremoniously dumped it there and left. The sandwich itself was perfectly fine--and significantly better when I added what I assume was their homemade hot sauce. Still not on the level of the breakfast sandwiches at places like Friends & Family or Sycamore Kitchen, and both of those places have significantly quicker and friendlier service. Yes, they both cost a few dollars more, but well worth it for a better experience (they also come with side salads, whereas this sandwich is just a sandwich). Will I be back? Probably not, and based on the energy I got when my food was dropped off, I doubt they care. read more

Overall a very tasty brunch, but it's important to know a few things before going. As mentioned the food is very good flavor wise and the location itself is prime. They don't have a parking lot so it will be street parking only, but luckily the streets perpendicular to it have a lot of available spaces and did so for our Sunday morning brunch. I also like the fact that you order at the counter and then they bring the food over to you. Makes it nice after you finish your meal than you can immediately head out. There are a few downsides to note. As many other reviews mention the service speed is extremely slow because they only have 2 cooks and a small griddle. It will take quite awhile for your food to arrive so this is not the sort of place to go when you have time commitments after. Also the menu is fairly small and doesn't have any complex dishes like Eggs Benedict so pancakes or breakfast sandwiches will be your options. The size of the items is also a bit small compared to a lot of other breakfast places so I wouldn't choose this location if I wanted a large of extra filling meal. Finally the restaurant itself is very crowded. The tables are very close together and when busy you have two squeeze between the those sitting at the counter and those sitting at the half booths. Inside spots may not be available depending on the time due to the limited amount of seating options. For our meal we chose the OG Pancakes, Pork Sausage side, and the Breakfast Sandwich. The pancakes are griddle style thin pancakes and aren't very big or fluffy size wise, but they give you a stack of three. The OG is very tasty, but also very sweet so you must be in the mood for the sweetness. The sausage was very good and came in the form of a patty. The Sandwich was flavorful, but a bit small in size and would be even better if avocado was added. Overall a really nice breakfast or brunch option albeit with limited menu options and a claustrophobic indoor dining area. I would recommend, but with some minor reservations. read more

I always passed by Salt's Cure after they had closed for the day and never got a chance to try them out until I played hooky from work to take a long walk. I'm a savory breakfast guy so I didn't think to get their Griddle Cakes but went with their breakfast tacos instead. I had my dog with me so I couldn't sit inside but no one was sitting outside so I got to pick from the two outdoor tables they had. I'm also not a coffee drinker so I went with their orange juice. Th tacos were pretty good, simple with the eggs and chorizo scrambled together which I liked. However, for 13 bucks for two tacos and bucks for the juice it was definitely on the more expensive side for what I could probably find for a fraction of it a few miles away. read more

A healthy yet very tasty take on pancakes. The plain with Cinnamon butter is excellent but I absolutely loved adding blueberry & the crunchy toppings. First time trying this place, I was shocked to learn it doesn't come with syrup but after trying it, it's just right. The potato's are seasoned nicely, egg noticeably farm raised high quality, and avocado was minimally seasoned but just right. Not pictures but the sausage patties are a must. I've had this place about 10 times now. My only gripe is one location is very limited in options compared to the other. Also one time my sausage was undercooked and pink in the center. Can't mess around with pork being raw, so I sent it back to be cooked longer. This only happened once out of all my visits so I'm not holding a grudge. read more

The lady taking my order was the sweetest thing, very patient, helpful explaining menu as it was my 1st time, gave suggestions etc. Ordered, got number, asked if I could sit anywhere she said yes, sat down at table and a guy with glasses asked me to move to a different table because I was eating alone. If that's the case then asign the tables, don't tell people to sit anywhere they want, or tell me to sit at counter top and not at table. Food was okay, avocado toast was basic, lacked flavor and seasoning, the potatoes were okay, needed seasoning aswell, my favorite was the blood orange juice which the lady recommend. I feel like the guy with glasses being rude is a constant issue because the table next to me had an issue with their order and he didn't fix it, instead they left unhappy, with more than half the food untouched all due to his unprofessionalism. Oh and speaking about those customer (who were African American and mostlikely didnt speak or understood Spanish) in Spanish was not cool, some of us speak Spanish and understood, your clientele demographic might not speak/understand Spanish but that doesn't mean it's okay to talk badly about a customer in Spanish with the cooks.
