Oh Breakfast Republic. When I had some family in SD, this used to be our favorite brunch spot. The pancake flights alone are enough to make me swoon. I love pancakes, but getting try three flavors? Heck yeah! This time, I opted for the vegan tres leches pancakes. Omg. Honestly, one of those things that I would have no idea were vegan unless they said so. Tres leches is a risky flavor to make vegan (I mean, so much milk), but these pancakes were buttery, creamy, and soaked with sweet cream. So good. I paired it with their cafe de Olla which was pretty solid. Great spot for a delicious and filling breakfast or brunch.
Love the breakfast sammie here. Service was also great too. Its a great casual breakfast spot to go with friends/family. That being said.. couple of improvements could be made. Wait time was inconsistent. After being quoted 20 minutes- it turned into 50 minutes without updates. Coffee is also not good here. It tastes watered down and the ube coffee was not great. It's not the worst but if you are a coffee person you will notice the difference. Their potatoes are also too well done for my taste.. too crunchy and fried imo.
On our last trip to Breakfast Republic, I ordered something different. I went with the chicken sausage omelet. Unfortunately, it was drier than a day in the Mojave Desert in summer. It tasted like they precooked the egg, then laid it on a plate and added the ingredients. There was something wrong with how it was cooked. Each item was there, but the flavors did not blend together. I was craving some fresh tomatoes, maybe some melted cheese, or some pico with salsa. Anything that would add flavor. It was bland. It was dry. The toast was not toasted, and I had to add the small amount of butter on the toast. Again, dry and bland. This was not a good omelet. There was no love at all for food or flavor.
Firstly, I want to say that the inside and outside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and absolutely love the whole setup of everything. The decor and the theme of the rooster is implemented well throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly, and honestly each worker that we all came across were quite friendly. The presentation of the of the food was quite exquisite, and of course the camera has to eat first. The only thing I have to critique, is the potatoes needs a bit more seasoning for me but other than that the whole meal was delicious. I will be back to try other items on the menu.
I was a little scared about the blackberry jam in my Benedict, but it was surprisingly good. It was subtle and really good with the shrimp and crab cake. The Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly and season well. I would recommend both. The Bloody Mary with jalapeño infused vodka was really good. Can't wait to come back and try other items.
Breakfast Republic was very busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign, but the wait was only about 15 minutes and the staff kept things moving along. We ordered the American Breakfast and the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Omelette, and the portions were very generous. The Asiago chicken sausage was especially tasty and was one of the highlights of the meal as you can tell I dug into it before taking a pic. The omelette was flavorful with a nice balance of cheese, sausage, and jalapeño. My only minor criticism was the breakfast potatoes, which were a bit too crunchy and seemed slightly overcooked for my taste. Overall, the food was satisfying, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was lively. Despite the crowd, the short wait and generous portions made for a nice breakfast experience.
My daughter was craving vegan pancakes and she found this spot after searching online. It's a cool spot with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It's light and bright with a great chicken motif. Although it was a busy Saturday, we were able to get sat in under 30 minutes. My daughter ordered the tres leches vegan pancakes, which we all loved. I ordered the traditional buttermilk pancakes and they were good, but not the best I've ever had. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and they were very good. Definitely worth another drive to Irvine.
Came in around 9:45am and it wasn't too busy but things definitely started picking up by the time our food came out. We ordered the bae mac, chilaquiles, and churro pancakes. The bae mac was really good, with perfectly cooked macaroni and bacon that didn't overpower the dish. The chilaquiles were crispy with a flavorful red sauce, and even the house potatoes were great, especially dipped in the leftover bae mac sauce. The churro pancakes were super fluffy and easily my favorite,, light, sweet, and not too heavy. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu. Our server Elizabeth was super welcoming and attentive and really made the experience even better.
My server/bartender was Sarah "Super Sarah". She was really nice and gave great food recommendations as well as local travel recommendations. The other bartender with her was also great but I did not get her name. The manager Dalton (I believe) was also personable and nice. I really enjoyed the food and my Chamango and Lychee mimosas. The restaurant was chill with a brunchy vibe. I will definitely come back and visit this amazing staff. Upon departure I did get a Mexican mocha iced coffee which was made with love and tasted delicious. Overall this place was a great experience, has a great food variety and a great staff. P.S. We came in hoping it wasn't too long of a wait, we were quoted 40min and decided to wait. There's so many shops around and even Trader Joe's to checkout while you wait to be called! I wish I remembered the gentleman in the host stand because he was so kind! They called us like 25min after they quoted our time so it was definitely quicker than we expected. The ambience is so nice, it's such a busy but super cute place! The food was pretty good, decent eggs, the steak was ok, but for the prices I would be back again, and the service was pretty good keeping in mind how busy it was because it was prime breakfast time.
I first tried Breakfast Republic years ago in SD and am so glad they since expanded to many more locations in OC and LA county. The food here is delicious and the service is impeccable; everyone is so sweet and is always checking up on you. Parking here is a little difficult as it's located right across from UCI and it's always packed when I go. I went with the rooster flight and mixed and matched both pancakes and French toast; soo delicious and a great choice if you like variety!
Such a great breakfast here. We got the Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata and the veggie scramble. Both were fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection. As a keto pescatarian, you can also pay a small upcharge for their seasonal sautéed vegetables as a side instead of home fries and toast. Amazing service from Kim and other wait staff! Full bar with lots of cocktail and mocktail options. Strong, fresh, hot coffee too! The branding is also wicked cute and there's motivational quotes "Easter egged" throughout the restaurant. Clean, unisex bathrooms. Lots of parking in the free 2-hour spaces. 5/5 would recommend. Great for breakfast / brunch with small groups or medium sized groups. Indoor and outdoor seating with a dog-friendly patio.
At Breakfast Republic you'll find a large menu, indoor & outdoor seating and plenty of parking spaces. It gets busy on the weekends, so go early. I've had good, and 'not so fresh' meals there, so it's hit or miss.

We came here as a group of 10. We were treated very well, we ordered and had our food out in a timely manner. Alondra M., one of the waiters, was AMAZING. She took the time to take our orders and make any changes that we wanted. She was very helpful and consistent. She also made it very easy to split the pay. Breakfast Republic was a bit of a disappointment for me, and I'll explain why. I usually look at three things when judging a restaurant for such Yelp review: atmosphere, service, and food. Atmosphere is the strongest part of this place. It looks great inside, with lots of fun details that show thought went into the design. From quirky salt and pepper shakers to cool artwork and even the plates, it's clear someone cared about making it visually appealing. Cozy, clean, and a place you'd want to sit in. Service was good too. The hostess gave me a little attitude when I seated myself (since no one was at the stand), but no big deal. Our waitress was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and quick to handle extra requests. Food... this is where things fell apart. The ingredients are cheap, the cooking careless. The eggs were so tiny that a "two or three egg omelet" looked closer to one. The potatoes were the worst: deep-fried starch crumbs with nothing fresh about them, oily and tasteless. I think they deep fry potatoes instead of grilling them. Ughhh! This is the kind of food that makes you feel like you shouldn't have eaten it. I came here with my wife because of the name Breakfast Republic, expecting a solid breakfast. But with food this bad, it's just not worth coming back. I was really looking forward to trying Breakfast Republic, seeing the thousands of reviews on Yelp. I ordered the Seasonal Scramble with 3 eggs and seasonal sautéed vegetables. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes. The dish was very dry and salty, and the potatoes were stale. I had to put them in the air fryer for another three minutes and they were not much better. I also ordered the Brioche French Toast, all via Doordash. I didn't think you could go wrong with breakfast. After all, it's my favorite meal of the day. Unfortunately, this was the saddest breakfast I have had in MY LIFE. I am not one to complain or leave bad reviews, but maybe because I ordered on Doordash, the chef did not even care to put in any effort in making my meal. The Brioche French Toast was basically just 2 slices of brioche with butter slapped on it, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. There was no egg in it. To make matters worse, the side of supposed scrambled eggs was a just a solid rubbery mass with absolutely no flavor. They did not season the eggs at all. All I could taste was butter and rubber. I even tried to fix the food by putting some of it back onto a pan on the stove and in the air fryer... but it was unsalvagable. I will not be ordering from or stepping foot into Breakfast Republic again. Definitely not a place you want to go for breakfast. read more

Love love love Breakfast Republic! My girlfriends and I have come here two weekends in a row now. It's a great place for brunch, with a variety of cocktails (including mimosas by the bottle with lots of juices/syrups to choose from) and delicious food. The breakfast mac 'n' cheese is a standout. Dalton and Sarah are our favorites at the bar. They're hilarious and make it an even more fun time! I'd say the only downside to this place is their parking lot, since it's entirely 30-minute limit spots due to the Trader Joe's and Target on either side of Breakfast Republic, but there are a few two-hour spots at the very end of the parking lot. It's also a smaller space so you might have to wait for a table for a bit, which isn't terrible since the ambiance is playful and chill. Also LOL to the guy who claimed he got "kicked off" of the bar this morning--the bartender politely asked if he could scoot down two stools so that our party could all sit together, but he just up and left then decided to whine about it on Yelp, I guess. Weird behavior but okay! (Their staff is very friendly and happy to accommodate everyone accordingly.) It's a lovely brunch spot. We'll be back for sure! read more

We had the best breakfast at Breakfast Republic. I absolutely love that the menu has a vegan section. I had the Vegan Jammin' Bennie and it was delicious. The egg was fluffy. The jam and hollandaise gave it a nice flavor. My husband had the steak and eggs and loved it. We were able to get sat right away at the bar even though the place was busy. The service was fast. The place was clean. I love the decor and all of the little sayings in the restaurant. Give it a try next time you are in Irvine. read more

I've been to this place many times, and overall, it's just okay. Their biggest success is their branding--young, playful, and vibrant. This theme carries through their décor, menu, and even little details like the salt and pepper shakers. Getting a table for weekend brunch can be a hassle. Today's wait was about 45 minutes, which is consistent with past experiences. After being seated, we waited another 15 minutes before placing our order. Although the restaurant was about 60% full, they seemed understaffed and the service was slow. I appreciate that they have vegan options on the menu and fun named dishes like "Jurassic Pork"--a thick slice of candied bacon. I've tried many of their dishes, and they've all been just okay. Today, I ordered the Protein Lover's Omelet. I'd recommend adding something healthier like peppers or spinach, otherwise--as the name suggests--it's very meat-heavy. The potatoes were a bit stale. Our server was friendly and apologetic about the slow service. She even brought a bowl of water for our dog, which was much appreciated. All in all, it was just an okay experience. Ambiance was so lively-- all yellow and bright..comfy chairs wooden tables.. I also love their rollersheet by the wall for menu specials... Service is awesome as soon we were seated after placing our menu we were asking for drinks right away that is good service--- since it was our 1st time here we explored the menu-- so while sippin on great tasting coffee we had a glipse of what they offer... Was looking for a place to get brunch with a couple friends and Google said this place was pretty good so we stopped by. We go sat immediately at a back booth. Lots of room. Friendly host. A great start to our visit! The inside is super cute. Lots of fun quotes and sayings in the restaurant, on their cups, in the bathroom etc. Our server, Sarah, was 20/10. So kind and patient as we waited for the rest of our party. She made great food recommendations and just had overall great energy. We ordered a regular coffee and a "specialty latte". I was so excited when I realized it was a combo of vanilla, chai and mocha. It was sweet, but that's how I like my coffees haha For food we got the Cluck Madame Benedict and the chicken fennel sausage omelet. The chicken fennel had the right amount of kick from the jalapeños and the Benedict was pretty good! I would definitely come back and try other items, their menu is pretty big! Went on a Monday morning around 8AM and was FREEZING inside!!! Even the servers had their coats on- so that was definitely a little uncomfortable. Got my usual breakfast sandwich and just realized there is always a literally hole cut out which is a bit silly. Sandwich is delicious, I do wish it was bigger for the price. The Breakfast Republic was a good place to grab some breakfast and we were seated in less than 5 minutes! We first started off with drinks, the matcha, orange juice, and an oreo latte. Out of the three I'd recommend the orange juice as I wasn't the biggest fan of the oreo latte. Our server was very nice and change my drink to an iced matcha when I realized i'd gotten it hot. The food was amazing with the crab cake benedict becoming my new favorite version of eggs benedict. The chilaquiles and sausage were also delicious, although I wouldn't recommend the turkey bacon. Brunch rush at this place is so real! The pineapple turnover pancakes were so fluffy and soft, pineapples added a perfect combo of sweet and tart. The hollandaise sauce on the pesto mushroom Benedict was the highlight to a savory breakfast choice and the breakfast sammie satisfied the craving of both a sweet and savory plate with the thick slice of bacon and runny yolk. House potatoes are crispy outside and soft potato all combined with rosemary making it a great addition. Their orange juice tasted like it was actually fresh squeezed with very slight pulp which I enjoy for brunch. Staff was amazing; very friendly environment and super efficient. Came here on a Sunday for lunch and there was a 30 minute wait. It's situated right next to Trader Joe's so we managed to get a shop in before our table was ready. We asked for table indoors and were given an outdoor table under the shaded canopy instead. I have to say listening to the metal chairs scraping against the concrete floor every few minutes was off putting and painful to listen to. It echoed so much because of the canopy and ruined the experience. The Eggs Benedict was good. We ordered a selection of pancakes which were not fluffy and really lacked oomph. The worn, eclectic interior of this place immediately reminded me of popular breakfast hole-in-the-wall places you're more likely to see in Seattle or Portland. This eatery is located in a shopping plaza next door to Trader Joe's at UCI. There's a huge parking lot but it's still a challenge to find a parking spot. I was here with a friend to have a weekday "breakfast-for-lunch". I immediately ordered a strawberry lemonade. I later noticed it was "bottomless" but I was never offered a refill. I wish I had known at the time as I would have demanded a refill because it was really wonderful with a perfect sweet-sour balance. I opted for the "Cluck Madame", a version of Eggs Benedict with ham, gruyere cheese, and bechemel sauce. I also asked for a side of Applewood smoked bacon. The eggs were absolutely delicious. I loved the diced house potatoes even more; so crisp with a delectable seasoning on the outside. The 3 pieces of bacon were diner-greasy with two pieces being crisp and the third one chewy. I rarely make a remark about prices but I thought this side was overpriced for three small pieces. Service was very casual and informal. Enter the spacious restaurant and on a Wednesday morning seat yourself inside or out. The decor is cute and everything is on theme. The service was very friendly and attentive. Came in before the brunch rush on a Saturday but we still needed to wait about 5 minutes. We were lucky to have been seated inside. Service was prompt, the vibe was nice. Ordered the breakfast burger, which actually surprised me. The addition of the sausage in the burger was a nice touch. First time having Cafe de Olla and it was DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant we've been to in a while. I actually feel a stomachache as I'm leaving this review We only came here for breakfast because it was the only restaurant in the center. The coffee was pretty bad, like bitter and flavorless at the same time - couldn't finish the cup and didn't take a refill offer even though it's bottomless. There are a lot of alcoholic drink options which might help one be buzzed enough to overlook the quality of the food. The fresh squeezed OJ was good but it came in a cup that smelled like old dish water and fish. So gross! The breakfast burritos were really bland and actually tasted bad - tortillas stale, eggs powdery, meat bland. The salsa that comes with it is not very nice either so you can't drown the burrito in sauce to cover the taste. The chilaquiles with chicken were a nightmare. The unseasoned lumps of chicken come on the side. I'm really not exaggerating when I say it tasted like microwaved old shredded chicken that expired. Even if the chicken were fresh instead of old, there was no salt or hint or seasoning to make it appetizing. I make fresh food for my dogs that don't even taste like this. I mentioned it to the kitchen staff so they would be made aware that their chicken went bad but they didn't take it off the bill until I reminded them. The sauce that's on the chilaquiles kind of tastes like liquified Doritos but not in a good way. Rice and beans on the side were fine but nothing to write home about. Some time after the initial complaint, the server offered a different protein to replace the bad chicken but I was already starting to feel sick and just wanted to leave by that point. I wish there was some kind of redeeming quality about this restaurant I could compliment but I'm frankly stunned it's still in business. $58 for the worst breakfast I've ever had. read more

Our first time there and we LOVED it! The ambiance is adorable the food was 5 star plus quality and the cafe de olla was top quality! But the icing on the cake was our server GLORIA!
