There have been multiple times I have driven past the giant STOP sign outside this establishment and have made a snarky remark or two.. but this morning when I was looking for a place to nurse my hangover this place was listed on the top on Yelp so I decided to give it a shot. And I'm so glad I did, because wow! Delicious food in huge portions for an awesome price. I ordered a cheese omelet and biscuits and gravy, which I was very excited about because I can never find restaurants with vegetarian white gravy! And my husband ordered the veggie omelet with pancakes, which he was expecting two of and received four! In total our bill was $19.50, not including tip. Our waitress was also extremely friendly and timely and also went so far as to offer us to-go drinks for the road. Oh, and I forgot to mention it didn't even take 15 minutes to receive our meal! I really enjoyed the steak rancheros. My brother got chicken fried steak, my boyfriend ordered corned beef hash and eggs and my mom got the French toast. All of us were very satisfied with our meals. The portion sizes are really large so most of us couldn't get close to finishing. The staff is friendly and prompt; very kind and helpful. Just moved to this side of town and wanted to try a new breakfast spot. I looked up what was in the area and this came up havibg pretty good reviews. You walk in and its a seat yourself type of place, looks like a regular little hole in the wall spot. Me and my guest sat at the bar and proceeded to look over the menu. It is a mixture of American and Mexican items, from the basic eggs to the chilaqules. I got the basic breakfast with eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. I must say nothing too amazing at all. The hash browns where overcooked with the outside so hard you needed a knife to get into it. The eggs (which was suppose to be 2) where watery and a pretty small portion. The rest of my meal was decent. My guest did get the chilaqules, but she said it was bland and she did not even eat the rice as she said it, "had no flavor". It did take a little bit of time for the food to come out, but not a major complaint. The other thing is I asked if they had a restroom and I was told no, little odd in my eyes. Maybe its just I have high expectations for breakfast, since there are some great spots in Tucson, but I would pass on this. For 2 people it was $25, so about average but not worth it in my eyes. read more

I cannot believe the 5 star reviews on here and have to believe they are all by friends of the owners. First, I am fairly certain the menu was taken directly from Jerry Bobs, which I thought was kind of weird. And if you're gonna rip someone off, you should do it better than them. The huevos rancheros was barely warm and the most flavorless breakfast I have ever had. My husband's patty melt was good for one star (kinda hard to mess up a party melt), but nothing special with a side a of frozen French fries. Weak coffee. Very nice service for the second star. Super disappointing since the reviews were fabulous and it is soooo close to our house...but jerry bobs isn't that much farther :) Edit: I was told my review sounds like I work at Jerry Bobs. We go to Breakfast stop quite often. We are always greeted with a warm smile. I work by 6:30 so our options are limited. Every time we have ordered the food is delicious , the restaurant clean and the dishes are presented in a pristine manner. The prices are great and the coffee keeps on coming... I had breakfasts at Breakfast Stop Family Restaurant two mornings during the week before last, and enjoyed them both. The ambience is casual and simple. The premises are not unattractive but are not particularly attractive, either. The restaurant occupies an older, free-standing building that apparently has been the home of various other restaurants over the years. However, it is inviting enough. There are plenty of booths and tables to choose from, even a counter with a few swivel seats. Seems like a popular place; the first morning there was a three- or four-generation family breakfast in progress - party of 15. Despite the crowd, the service was fast and friendly, and my order was correct. The food portions were large and the food was tasty. The prices were low, especially given the large portion size and very good food quality. The first morning I ordered a build-it-yourself dish, where you get to choose any four items from a lengthy list of possibilities - all for only $5.61. I chose two eggs any style, stack of four small pancakes, two strips of bacon, and a toasted English muffin. Everything was very good. An awesome deal! The next morning I ordered a breakfast burrito for $7.01. The burrito was huge, stuffed with eggs, bacon, hash browns and some other stuff I cannot recall. Served with a side of very tasty salsa, which complimented the burrito nicely. I'm from out of town but, next time I'm in Tucson, I'd gladly come back to Breakfast Stop Family Restaurant for breakfast or lunch. read more
