Randomly looked up a nearby milktea place and came across Brew Cha. The interior looked clean, modern, and had a good amount of tables to feel comfortable. I can definitely see myself studying here. I ordered the strawberry raspberry tea which came with white boba. The staff let me sample the white boba to confirm if I wanted it added to the drink! It came with a real tea bag inside. The drink was good! I ordered 50% sugar, but recommend 75% sugar for this drink. The staff was willing to adjust the sugar levels for me afterwards as well, but I was in a rush. THE PEOPLE HERE ARE NICE AND WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA STEP TO ENSURE A GREAT DRINK AND EXPERIENCE! They are a new place so it did take a bit longer than other places for our drinks to be ready, but it's such a nice place that you wouldn't mind sitting and relaxing a bit while you wait. Came here Tuesday night around 9 with no line. Overall, pretty disappointed. I ordered a Ceylon Black Milk Tea (50% sweet). Pricey in general, but pretty standard for San Francisco. The drink was watery, and barely tasted of tea. They were also very skimpy on the boba, which was also way too soft. I saw a lot of positive reviews on Yelp; maybe their speciality drinks are better. My friends and I are trying out a new boba place every weekend ish - and this was our pick for the week! We were intrigued by the ube taro latte and their other unique choices of drinks. My friends got the black sesame red bean with cheese foam and the matcha black sesame. They were a decent price for the size and were pretty good. The ube taro latte was a subtle flavor. I was in the area looking for something nice and warm to drink and Brewcha caught my eye. The Iced Ube Taro Latte looked delicious however I wanted something warm so I opted for that one warm with oat milk and 50% sugar. It was so delicious! They used real bits of taro in the drink and the boba was cooked perfectly. It was such a great drink for a cold night. I got the smallest size but I wished I got the bigger one, I was honestly so tempted to go back and buy another! I was honestly expecting just some warm oat milk with taro powder or something but I was wrong. Definitely come by for a yummy drink! read more

this store is a nice place for just sitting and around with friends. the music is not that loud but they repeated same songs quite often which i do not mind. service is great ~ nice staffs and if you order through their website, you can entitle for $5 off for your first order. since i ordered only fruit tea drinks, they are just ok. can taste the brewing tea and great while not that sweet and you still can figure it out the taste of the fruits that mixed in with the tea. i also ordered ube taro latte which not taking picture of it because hot one and yes, it is great ~ for this one, i definitely recommend to try, the taro is so smooth. good thing in this store is all drinks come with boba. too bad not selling snacks except like dorayaki one. wanna try that time but they run out of nutella filling... read more

I decided to try a roasted oolong milk tea and my friend went with the panda milk tea which has earl grey in it. The staff was really friendly and she told me that the drink included boba. The boba had just the right amount of honey and the chewy consistency was just right! The tea was really strong but I enjoyed it. Also, the layout of the place was aesthetically pleasing. read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM BREW CHA!! (POISONED)(RACISTTS!!!). I ordered my drink on the kiosk and they added a one dollar tip without my knowledge. When I got my drink, and as I started to drink towards the bottom, it started to taste like chemicals. As I got to the end of my drink, the lady at the front started staring at me and smiling at me as if she knew there was something wrong with my drink. As we walked back to the car, both of my friends said that their drinks started to taste funny too. When I went to go and asked for a refund, they did not deny me my refund. They insisted on giving me a refund. That's how I know they know that there was something in my drink. In all of my times of going to get Boba, this has got to be the worst. Stains on their couches and it smelled awful. Don't go here if you don't want to be poisoned and have to vomit. read more

Cute new boba shop tucked away in the Mission. We came around 8:30 on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded, but the parking in the area is tough. The vibe was clean and comfy - a place you can hang out and talk with friends for a while. Earl Grey milk tea: a little watered down, but not too sweet (even had regular sweetness!) and the tea wasn't overpowering. Black Sugar Latte: I prefer this one over Yifang in Stonestown! Substituted with lactose-free milk- not sure if it affected the creaminess of the drink, but it didn't feel as heavy (compared to Yifang). Would definitely order this next time. Wasn't bad, but definitely could be improved. Brownie points for free boba in each drink!!!! read more

I had milk tea with grass jelly at Brew Cha. The grass jelly tasted very rich that I never ever tried such a good grass jelly in the Bay Area. Milk tea is brewed with strong tea. This is just perfectly mixed. I will definitely come back to this shop again! read more

Tried the popular ube taro bubble tea and it's good! Tasty and Instagram worthy of a picture. The only down fall is the location of this place. I don't think people would find this place unless they were looking for it. The neighborhood isn't the most appealing place. Otherwise, the cafe itself is clean and good customer service. read more

This review is ONLY for their ube taro latte and brewcha fruit tea. Granted the ube taro latte is very Instagram-worthy, the actual drink was as impressive. Drink wasn't that cold, tasted mainly like sweetened milk with some ube flavor and taro chunks. My SO said the fruit tea wasn't anything amazing either. Beautiful space and may come back and try other flavors. Only thing that saved it was their sweet chewy boba that was perfectly cooked. read more

Walked into Brew Cha after seeing it pop up on Yelp everytime I searched "boba" in the Mission. I was excited because the drinks were pretty and they had interesting flavors! The place looked super nice...great looking interior, clean, modern and the menu was intriguing with a nice amount of fruit teas and milk teas. When I saw ube and taro..I was HELLLLLA EXCITED. I was disappointed with the drink - boba was too squishy and there was hardly any flavor to the Ube and Taro Latte. Yes there were little bits/chunks in the drink, but everything else in the drink was so bland. Definitely not my favorite and probably a mismanagement of my own expectations since I made a special trip to try this place out. 3-stars for a good, spacious space with plenty of plugs/usb outlets including wifi - just meh on the drinks. read more

Super aesthetic place to study with lots of outlets and tables! They also have free WiFi! As for the drinks, it took a little longer for them to make than usual but overall the boba and drink itself was good. I really liked how they had lots of different milk options like organic, almond, and oat milk to choose from! Came here on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn't quite busy. I have been meaning to try out Brew Cha for a while since I always see their Ube Taro Latte pictures online. It's definitely picture-worthy, but the drink tasted just pure milk. There's definitely tid-bits of taro and ube, but the milk-only taste was not to my liking. I went here in the morning and it wasn't busy at all! My drink: Panda Milk Tea with Boba (75% sweetness and less ice) - Even though it was a 75% sweetness level it wasn't that sweet.. in fact it had some bland parts to it. So I suggest just getting 100% sweetness because maybe the drink would be sweeter. However, it was still kinda good but not phenomenal. I did like their boba topping consistency! It was chewy, nice, and perfect!! The inside: Super clean and put together! It's more of a minimalistic and modern boba shop which is really nice. It's perfect for studying because there's free WiFi and good seating (I'm not sure when they get busy but I was studying there on a Thursday from 11:30 to almost 1 pm and it wasn't packed). Was looking for a good boba place in Mission district. I ordered 7 drinks for my coworkers and they were able to make them all in a quick 10 minutes! I had to try the ube taro latte based off the esthetic pictures I've been seeing on Yelp. It wasn't too sweet and presentation was great. It's definitely a thicker drink. If you're not a fan of pulp in your OJ then you probably should pass on this drink. I love pulp though, so I was a fan of the taro chunks. Will definitely try other flavors since it's so close by~ read more

An unexpected find on Mission for boba in a cute little shop! Ventured around after spending the afternoon at Dolores park, which led to us finding Brew Cha. Their specialty seems to be the Ube Taro Latte, as seen by most of the photos/reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately, the ube taro latte we ordered didn't live up to the hype. The purple color in the Yelp photos seemed much more vibrant and flavorful--ours drinks looked dull and the ube/taro color was only concentrated at the bottom of the cup. Not sure if they were having an off day, but it was basically milk + chunks of ube at the bottom that weren't completely blended. It tasted fine but for almost $6 a cup I expected better. On the plus side, the employees are friendly and the cafe is pretty aesthetic. They were playing some sort of kpop music on a Sunday afternoon and there were some tables with people working on their laptops. It did get loud with a group of 10+ people celebrating some sort of event right next to our table, but that's not on Brew Cha. They also have free WiFi and board games, so good place to hang out but not sure if I would return for the actual drinks. 3.5/5 stars read more

This review is basically only for the Ube taro latte, which I've had in every form - all of the milk varieties, extra taro, extra ube, regular boba, additional boba, half boba, other toppings, every sugar and ice level. Honestly it doesn't matter what configuration I choose because I love this drink. I ask for it without additional sugar and it's not hyper sweet, though I believe the ube and taro are cooked with some sugar. Super consistent, my drink always tastes the same, and it's pretty rare to find this drink at this quality elsewhere so I'm really happy with it! read more

Horrible place, horrible service. Walked in and witnessed the workers being treated like garbage by the manager, nitpicking the smallest things. Then I was the next victim of being treated rudely by staff, they were not happy at all to see me walk in, instantly having an annoyed face. Honestly the drink was below mid for me. It was super watery, it seems like they care more about getting me out the door with my drink rather then providing me with a quality product, it's sad to see such an establishment not prioritizing their customers first. If it was me I would 100% go to another boba shop in SF, i'm sure any other place you would be better served there. read more

I've been here twice and have sadly had less than average experiences both times - Wait was pretty long - Panda milk tea: this was good except they ran out of white boba...which is the reason they call it "panda" (black and white boba) - Ube latte: this was terrible. It basically tasted like milk with some taro pulp. If you want ube flavor, walk down a few blocks and get ube ice cream from Garden Creamery. I opted for hot drinks on a cloudy and foggy afternoon: 1. Peach oolong tea, hot, 25% sugar, white boba 2. Genmaicha green tea, hot, 25% sugar, black boba White boba tastes and feels exactly like black boba. It's soft and chewy, unlike the crystal agar boba type at other boba shops. Brew cha can be Boba guys' newest competition. It's only a block away. The tea has stronger flavor. I just wish Brew cha also had oatmilk and hojicha as options. I'll be back to try ube taro latte and black sugar latte! Boba is included in the price but it's pricier than the average boba shop. It's spacious, quite a few tables to sit down and pull out a laptop with plenty of outlets along the wall. Drafty and chilly when the windows on the top open. The bathroom could use more regular cleaning. There were pieces of toilet paper on the floor. Best to find a ride and skip the headache of finding and paying for parking. read more

Guys beware of this place they're so so so addictive I tried 6 different varieties of cold teas not even a single flavour had disappointed me can't stop from visiting this place they are the best had been here more than than 10 times in less than two weeks thanks for being open during the pandemic. I've ordered Brewcha about 10 times during the quarantine. (even though I don't live near here and have to drive out of my way) However, the owners here don't care about their customers or retention. I typically place the order on Google Postmates for pick up and drive over myself. Like many times before, I drove over to pick up my order, and they updated their pick up time to an hour. Since I couldn't wait an hour for pick up due to a prior engagement, I asked to cancel. They refused to let me cancel the order and instead changed the order to "ready for pick up" so I wouldn't be able to get a refund. Pretty disappointing given they did not make my drink yet when I called and want to still take my money! Almost ruined my whole day as I was excited to support Brew Cha and get my daily boba fix. Instead, they made getting boba a whole ordeal that I'm not ready to partake again with Brew Cha. I'm taking my business to Tea Hut instead. read more

my friend and I really wanted to try this place out so we decided to give it a try when we went to sf for the day! finding parking was probably the worst part but hey, it's San Francisco so what did we expect HAHA. the store itself was easy to find god bless. we basically decided to get the two most popular drinks which was the brown sugar latte and the taro latte. there was a little wait for the drinks only because the pearls were freshly made and honestly pretty worth it considering how good they looked once we got them! my friend would give the brown sugar latte a 8/10 and I would give the taro also an 8/10 (I would try mixing the taro altogether completely since drinking it as is wasn't very sweet) :) read more

Happened to pass by and go in for the soft opening here. The cashier Diana was super sweet and helpful when ordering! There is a little hang out spot with two couches for when you're waiting for your order to go, bar seating and tables when you want to stay and study or just hang out. I ordered a Matcha Latte with regular sugar, less ice, almond milk, and white boba. Tasted as matcha should, might switch to regular ice next time because I like my drinks just a tad bit colder. If you want your drink a little bit sweeter than normal you can take it to the counter and get it fixed if you which is really nice! Every drink has a little stopper so it doesn't spill and it's a little red heart! It's not something super substantial but I thought this little extra was so sweet and cute! read more

Ordered two cold ube taro latte with lactose-free milk, free boba, regular ice. One was 0% sweetness, another 25%. Both drinks were flavorless. Highly disappointed that the bland taste fell short of the colorful presentation. Highly recommend the Ube Halaya at Boba Guys as an alternative. read more

I have tried so many boba tea places around the city in every neighborhood, some hole in the wall places, some super popular.... I have to say brewcha is our family favorite, fresh, real tea and fruits. Refresh cold taro latte made with organic ingredients. Upon drinking it you could immediately tell the difference. I have never drank a taro latte before it was definitely worth trying. The taro latte has a light latte flavor along with a noticeable taro taste to it :) read more

Finally, mission area has some real boba milk tea. This shop makes their drinks with love. They use fresh fruits and real taro(Ube) and some real purple yam to make their taro latte. Which I love so much. If you close by or craving some boba. This is the spot you don't want to miss out. read more

Owners and staff are very friendly and kind. The space is nicely decorated and instagram-able. I tried their Brew Cha Fruit Tea w/ Crystal Boba and my friend got the Matcha Latte w/ Boba. Boba comes with all the drinks for free, but if you would like to substitute it with a different topping then you have to pay extra 0.50. The Brew Cha Fruit Tea has very light fruity scent, and the crystal boba is slightly firm and not sweet at all (stay away if you prefer extra sweet chewy boba). Matcha Latte is really good, not powdery, not too sweet. Again, boba is not the sweet kind. I would probably not come back for these two drinks because I prefer heavy and sweet drinks, but will definitely try the Ube Taro Latte next time because it looks really good. read more

Can the boba be made vegan?

Boba is naturally vegan (tapioca) but it depends on the sweetener used when cooking it. I believe their black boba is sweetened with honey and their white boba is not. I would call to double check.

I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

It's also in an area where you can shop around (across the street) if you want to grab a bite as well. Our go to orders include the Mocha Dream Espresso Cloud and the Nitro Mango, but we have also gotten the Hojicha Cloud, which is amazing as well. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.
