Straight cash homie! Tried to pay for a sausage and peppers sandwich with credit card. The guy was upset and acted like he was insulted. He said they have a cash or check policy only and pointed out the fee-friendly ATM. Lucky for me I had my Uber tip roll on me. After paying, I looked all over the store for a sign about their cash policy. Not one. Nada. The sausage was okay. Not spicy hot like I like it. Friends and my husband and I were looking for Tiramisu in the area and came across a treasure - Brianno's. We were lucky enough to run into the owner while getting out of the car and were treated to a full tour of the deli's delicious-looking offerings once we got inside. Although we went for birthday desserts, we had a hard time leaving without ordering what seemed to be the world's best-looking pizzas being wrapped up for one waiting customer after another. Went for the pizza, which was really good, but it was the subs that stood out. The bread makes them. Fresh baked, the sub rolls are not the lame stretched out Wonderbread nightmares that most chains and sub shops use. No. This is real bread. We got the chicago beef with the hot giardinara--it was amazing. Went to school in Chicago, my wife's good friend is from Chicago and make the beef sandwich homemade; this was better than anything I've had. The next sub was the Italiano, fresh sliced cold cuts a little oil and vinegar-perfect. Frankly, the bread took both sandwiches to the next level Pizza's good, crispy flat bread style, and tasty. I've got an North East pizza bias, but I enjoyed Brianno's a lot. It's its own thing, good sauce and cheese, go for it. Open your minds New Yorkers, Chicagoans, and Californians: it's all good! In the end great place, one caveat: Brianno's is a hole in the wall type place. Don't be looking for maitre d's. Turn in on Slater Road. You'll go batty trying to find it on Cliff. This has all the staples for homemade Italian cooking. It also has so much good stuff at the counter you wish you could eat in. They carry a very interesting iced tea that looks almost yellow. I got a hoagie and the Italian dressing is very strong. I got some canned clam sauce that was actually pretty good, just buy an extra can of clams. You'll need them because the ones in the sauce are minced to the extreme. In the neighborhood visiting and thought I'd try it. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad and pepperoni cheese bread. The salad was the most bland I'd ever eaten. The lettuce was in huge chunks, the chicken was dry, dressing bland and they use powdered Parmesan like you bit in the can. Croutons were stale. pepperoni cheese bread was mediocre at best. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before now. Brianno's is one of my absolute favorites. I strongly recommend becoming a fan on facebook. They post the specials on their page every day (almost). Best special of all is the Garlic Tortellini with Pesto Cream Sauce...so good. I've never gotten the pizza as I usually head over on my lunch break. They don't sell it by the slice and I'm usually on my own for lunch. I've heard it really is the best around though. Delicious specials, great every day menu, amazing sandwiches (find someone to share with). The eggplant parmesan sandwich is awesome. Don't worry too much about not accepting plastic, there's an ATM right in the shop. Remember, this is a deli, not a restaurant. The food here is great. Friends were raving to me about the place and I finally broke down and tried it. Even my significant other liked it and man when it comes to American food she is hard to please so her giving thumbs up is saying something. Heres the thing though, I keep seeing a recurring theme in these reviews, talking about how great authentic Italian food this is. I've spent a significant amount of time in Italy and this is not authentic Italian food, most of it. This is Italian-American food. You will not find these pizzas or sandwiches in Italy. OK? Enough with the authentic talk! Just because something is spectacularly delicious (and it all is) does not make it "authentic". Having said that the sandwiches and pizza are absolutely bad ass. Lasagna too. I tried it for the first time this summer and believe me, I will make this a regular joint. This place has got to be one of the top delis in the metro area. I have been a customer of Brianno's for almost 20 years and although my son has had Brianno's pizza many times at home, (my wife has me drive from Prior Lake to the Eagan border to pick it up) today I brought him in to the deli for lunch and it was amazing. The following is a big deal......Plus they now take credit and debit cards. No more IOU's with Brian. There is a reason my wife has me drive that far....again that is about 20 miles across town through 15 traffic lights.......it is that good! The absolute best pizza in Minnesota! This place is quirky and expensive. Stopped in today to pick up some supplies for a Super Bowl party. After carefully making my selections and attempting to pay for my $90 order I was told they don't accept anything but cash or check. WHAT!?! What century is this? They conveniently have an ATM squeezed in and taking up valuable retail floor space in their already VERY small shop which they're happy to charge an additional $2.50 (plus whatever your bank charges). At $18 for a FROZEN pizza I'm positive there's enough margin to cover the 60 or 70 cent merchant processing fees. I haven't used cash or checks since the 1990's so instead of a sweet sale and the enjoyment their food would bring to many other potential customers, they got nothing. I probably won't be back until they change their policy. Very sad and a very poor business decision. How do the people pay for events at their space next door to host their parties? Surely they aren't bringing in a suitcase of cash. read more

I've been told that this place has the best pizza in town. That being the case, you'll have to take this review with a grain of salt as I have yet to try the pizza. I had one of their sandwiches instead. I got their deli special at the time and wasn't all that impressed. The bread was a bit too hard for my taste and I don't know if it was because of the bread but the thing was way too dry. The tastes were great, but having to drink a swig of water after every bite kind of made me forget how good it tasted. Cannot do much better then Brianno's pizza. It's quality ingredients and every pizza I've eaten I would recommend. A large will feed 4-5 people. Most greasy pizzas I hate because I'm left with a terrible tummy ache, but not here. I also love the Caesar salad, the dressing is full of flavor. I also enjoy the sandwiches and hot entres although you will hit double digits in price for an average size meal. While unassuming, this little deli had a lot packed in. We got the lasagna, the antipasto salad, and the garlic bread. I would like to try their pizza sometime too, as my wife and I have been looking for authentic family Italian food. The lasagna was top notch, but the salad and garlic bread fell short. The bread itself was good, but it lacked crispness and flavor (garlic, namely). The salad seemed to be a bit heavy on the cheese, and it just was kind of bland. My sandwich from here was absolutely delicious, as well as gigantic. The staff was very helpful, there's no seating so don't expect a place to sit and eat. The food was fresh, and well made. They had alot of choices and were pretty much a great choice. The one word of warning is that they only take cash or check, no cards. Brianno's is a wonderful market/deli along the lines of a smaller Broder's. The pizza has a thin crust and the large is enormous for only a $3 up charge. The Hot Dago and Meatball sandwich are on some really tasty bread. There is always something fresh and interesting available. Brianno's is a hidden gem in Eagan! Authentic Italian sandwiches and hot dishes that taste amazing. I like the lasagna the most and the Chicago Style roast beef sandwich with the hot peppers! Best thin crust pizza in the Twin Cities in my opinion the sauce has just the right amount of spice. The ingredients are always fresh. This place rocks. Brianno's has authentic and affordable pizza and Italian subs. They also have an outstanding deli filled with fresh meats and cheeses and other Italian staples. As many note, this spot is a quirky trip hidden in Eagan MN of all places. Don't know about the pizza, but the hoagies - especially italiano- are right up there with Cossettas in St Paul and the south jersey hoagie from Broders in S MInneapolis. This is in my opinion the best pizza in town, we live in Inver Grove and we make the trek to Briannos. Their special is great, but even a pep / sausage is amazing. I don't know what else to say, except if you like the savoy, you will love this place. The deli there is also worth checking out. People keep saying its the best pizza south of the river and while its better than Pizza Hut its similar to Carbones or Savoy or Pizza Man, but maybe thats because I have no heated carrier to bring it home really hot and fresh (I'm just in Bvill) I think Green Mill or Davannis can be better. I live very close to Briannos and feel fortunate. The homemade soup and Tiramisu are my favorites. On a cold winter day, soup is a great meal. The Beef barley and Beef noodle are amazing. The crusty bread is a great accompaniment with the Caesar salad. The cash only policy bothered me in the beginning, but is not really a problem with the ATM there. The staff work hard to provide fresh tasty food every day except Mondays. The owner comes from Italy, near Florence, so he knows good ingredients and goes back to Italy frequently. I believe a lot of the recipes are his mother's. Anyway, a go to deli for Italian food, right in my neighborhood. read more
