Nachos, classic fish taco, house salad & potato skins.
Jennifer A.

My mom and I love biking to The Brigantine for happy hour. $5 glasses of wine + great small plate deals. It's such a fun, relaxed spot to unwind after a ride. Good food, good prices (especially for Coronado), and a great atmosphere. Definitely a nice place to sit outside in the sun across from the dell! Service is always great as well, quick, friendly and attentive.

Happy hour menu

We came here just in time for happy hour. Our waitress, Riley, was super cool and funny. She was able to put in our order just as happy hour was wrapping up. We sat in the bar area at the oyster bar. The whole bar section is open seating. The fish tacos are a must have! The calamari is a go to for us as well! The wagyu sliders were ok. I probably wouldn't get those again. Atmosphere is laidback. We enjoyed our evening. Will come back if ever down in Coronado again!

This was a classy place for brunch on San Diego's Coronado Island. The area is a bit more upscale with a great view of the water and close proximity to the hotel and neighborhoods for walking and exploring. However, inside this place, there was a more laid-back bar ambience and some good but fried dishes. We Had the Shishito peppers and the crispy shrimp, which I would recommend. We also had a classic salad and some other shareable items that weren't as memorable for me. Service was efficient. The servers know who their regulars are, which is okay. Plenty of great drink options, but not the vibe we were going for that day. Cute interior, comfy seating, clean overall, with nice decorations. Parking was relatively easy, but I would expect more difficulty during peak hours. We came in the early afternoon so we just missed the lunch crowd and were there too early to compete with the dinner patrons.

We came back here twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times were great experiences! We sat in the bar area both times - the tables and bar stools in that area are all open seating and we didn't have to wait. Both times I got the Fish n Chips. Yum! Fresh tasting fish, healthy portion provided, with the perfect crispy outside. The fries were also delicious! I like that you can do the bar portion with 2 pieces, or the lunch/dinner portion with more. My husband got the Fish n Chips during our first visit and the Fish Tacos our second visit - he enjoyed both meals. During our visit for dinner we split the Mud Pie - it was a great choice! The service was great - both our waitresses were very friendly and attentive. It's clean inside and the ambiance was great! This is definitely one of the best options for food on Coronado.

Was in San Diego for a long weekend with Wifey a couple weeks ago and my only responsibility was to choose dinner locations. My seafood diner choice was Brigantine, which was within walking distance of our hotel. Seated us inside but with a beautiful view of the sunset. Place isn't fancy for your attire. Nice shorts and a polo is perfect. We had a reservation (and it was a little early) si we were seated immediately. Waiter was Billy - who was super friendly and helped us choose our entrees and drinks. I started with a Cucumber jalapeño margarita and Wifey had the Pomegranate sangria. The drinks were great...and mine was pretty strong. For starters we tried the Baked oysters a couple on the half shell. For our entrees Wifey had the Crab stuffed shrimp and grits and I, surprisingly, chose a pretty healthy option of Wok seared ahi and vegetables. The stuffed shrimp meal was very rich (I got one of them), but delicious. My meal was fantastic and I was completely full at the end of it.

Food is delicious! The calamari, Seafood Cobb, Parmesan Crusted San Dabbs, Blackened Salmon fantastic!!! Service from beginning to end is wonderful. The ambience is so familiar, casual and sea faring classic. Brigantine is a nice restaurant for families, dates, friends to enjoy. Don't forget classic cocktails.

Avissi Prosecco, ONION RINGS, and Pacifico draft beer

Happy hour is the best time to go. Will say I had never had a good Pacifico draft like I have here. So crisp and cold . Appetizers are perfect if your not trying to have a full course meal. Lastly the atmosphere overall is a great place to unwind and enjoy your drink.

BRIG FISH TACO PLATE - Plate with Sides
Rona B.

Really cute restaurant! I went on a Sunday for lunch time and it was pretty empty so we were seated quickly. Fish tacos were good, but the cheddar cheese didn't go too well with it. I also had the oysters rock which were a bit TOO overloaded with bacon. Overall a decent lunch option while in the area!

When visiting Coronado Beach and you're in the mood for seafood, I highly recommend the Brig. The seafood is amazing and made with the freshest ingredients. The staff was exceptional and very knowledgeable about the area. The shrimp cocktail is great way to start while you're waiting for your meal. The calamari is a popular dish but it was not as good as many other places I have been to in the past.

Taco Tuesday - supplemental to regular menu
Jennifer B.

We had such a great experience at The Brigantine in Coronado! Their happy hour is truly one of the best in town. We enjoyed a half dozen Blue Point oysters (outside of happy hour) and they were excellent--fresh and briny. Happy hour itself was a standout, with $7 drafts, select cocktails, and wines, plus a variety of food options that were both generous in portion and full of flavor--all for just $7. You can't beat that value. We also came by on Taco Tuesday, and wow--the tacos were only $6 each, but they were large, loaded, and absolutely delicious. The Brigantine is a great place to eat any time--the food is always delicious--but the happy hour deals with their generous and flavorful offerings are an extra perk. Overall, fantastic food, great drinks, and unbeatable specials. Definitely the best happy hour spot in Coronado! We sat at the bar. Inviting and casual - Check it out !

Fresh Steamed Clams
Dan M.

This was a casual location that had a diverse menu with mostly seafood fare. There was a large bar upon entering and it also included open air seating it seemed. The service was appreciated as the food came out in a timely manner. Three dishes were ordered, the crispy brussels sprouts, crispy coconut macadamia shrimp, and the fresh steamed clams. The brussels sprouts had pieces of pork belly, Spanish chorizo, blue cheese, and salted caramel. The sprouts had a great cook to them and contrasted nicely with the blue cheese and salted caramel. The caramel on the meats was unique too. There were plenty of the meats present, which was nice to see. The shrimp had a ponzu sauce. There were six extremely large and crispy shrimp tails. The sauce was not too overpowering, and it stuck on the shrimps without falling off, which was ideal. The clams had chorizo, shallots, garlic, and lemongrass in a red curry-coconut broth. There were also pieces of toasted baguette. There were about two dozen clams or so. The clams were too small, however. The sauce was appetizing and mostly made up for it. Will I go back? Probably.

Came on Sunday afternoon with the cousins. Was around for happy hour and we had a toddler with us as well. Our server was great, checked on us frequently but not overly so, made sure we had everything we needed, very personable and didn't rush us out. We order a plethora of dishes, fried artichoke, shrimp cocktail, Cesar salad, kids Mac and cheese with fruit, sliders and nachos. Portions were all very good size, everything tasted nice and fresh. Wasn't a huge fan of the blue cheese with the nachos but the fried artichokes were crispy and delicious without being oily. It's great location for people watching and more affordable than eating at the Del.

Came here for happy hour. Service was pretty slow. All of the happy hour foods were very mid. Margarita was super sweet. The restaurant is in a nice spot on Orange ave caddy corner to the Del.

It was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can taste the butter in each bite. They provide fresh cold water that you can serve yourself which was welcome with the warm weather. Additionally, they have soda and lemonade. It could be considered a bit pricey, but everything I was eating on my San Diego trip near the beach is. Service was friendly and they brought my meal to my table which was nice. Would definitely go again. Note-There are two other locations in the San Diego area. If you have to use the restroom there is not one inside their establishment, it's a few buildings down and they will provide you a key and directions.

We were seated right away after about a five minute wait. I did have a reservation on OpenTable but when we got there, there were several challenges I believe in the seating area. Once we were seated, I noticed Chef Deborah walking around. She was greeting customers and being her very friendly and professional self. I was so impressed. We ordered.: Tempura Artichoke Appetizer, Fish and Chips, and a Chicken Caesar Salad. Everything was DELICIOUS! It was also awesome because Chef Deborah came by to greet us and talk to us and I had a chance to express how much I really like her Casa Gabriella restaurant in La Mesa. I told her how I have been a fan of her restaurants for a long time and I absolutely miss Bo Beau that used to be in Hillcrest, and then Ocean Beach. She updated me that it is now located in Long Beach, which is still good to know. Being able to dine and speak with the actual executive chef of this brand was awesome. Our server was Chris and he was OUTSTANDING...very attentive and very friendly. Both managers visited our table several time to make sure we were good. We ordered the braised beef potstickers, california roll, and grilled and chilled shrimp for appetizers. The meat in the potstickers was very mushy. The california roll was decent. The grilled and chilled shrimp were fine. My husband had the filet - ordered medium well, served medium...the twice baked potato was very small and seemed to be overcooked. I had the lemon chicken entree - the taste was good, but was just a bit dry...it was served with fries, which was fine. The other couple ordered the skirt steak and the braised short ribs which they seemed to enjoy. My drink was amazing - the Amalfi Spritz. For dessert, we tried the butter cake...again, a bit underwhelming and not really good on flavor...I did taste the toffee and caramel, but the cake itself had no taste. Fish was simply grilled but cooked perfectly, asparagus was a standout side as cooked perfectly crisp with a nice char topped with an amazing green goddess sauce. Mushrooms were surprisingly large portion. Frites were perfect as frites could be. The ambiance is the same as I remember but the place feels a bit more elegant with updated lighting, table side lanterns. and a bit more "swank" to banquettes and brass / wood molding. Service was prompt and fun. All in all everything it has always been as a SD institution. Note to Somm / Bev Mgr: You CLEARLY have an issue with Chardonnay, and I respect that statement (a quirk shared across CH restaurants, try finding vodka or ketchup at C&C). I would only say that if you have an issue with Chardonnay and only have one by glass and one by bottle on the list, it should be French and not CA. (Maybe a Chablis or Pouilly Fuisse by the glass and a 1er cru by bottle?) Seems like if you're going to be bold and snub Chardonnay (at a fish / seafood establishment no less) you should fully commit to your boldness and not pussyfoot with a CA bottle to appease those looking for something assembling a butter bomb (to be fair, the glass selection was an unoaked stainless steel variety) Besides, if you went French you wouldn't even have to have the word "Chardonnay" on your wine list :) PS: I went by the glass with 1er cru champagne and a morgon which was perfect with the grilled halibut and stood up to the asparagus. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was one of the strangest and most disappointing restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. We brought a guest visiting from out of town and were honestly embarrassed by how poor the experience was from start to finish. The restaurant was only about one quarter full on a weekday evening, yet service was shockingly slow and disorganized. It started with our server fumbling through reservation lists trying to find our name, then acting annoyed when we ordered specific cocktails. At one point, he even asked if we were "old enough to drink," which came off as rude and bizarre. The first round of drinks took around 20 minutes and arrived poorly made. We then waited another 40 minutes just to place entree orders, despite barely seeing our server after appetizers arrived. Ordering a second round somehow went even worse. The server rolled his eyes, made annoyed noises, and acted inconvenienced that we were ordering more drinks at a restaurant charging premium prices. One drink, a dirty martini, took about 30 minutes and arrived with a greasy film on top from bleu cheese olives sitting in it far too long. We asked for a manager, who apologized but then asked whether we wanted sweet or dry vermouth in a dirty martini, which did not inspire much confidence. The remake came back not dirty at all and had to be remade again. After nearly two hours, our entrees finally arrived. The plates were dropped on the table without a word. The chicken and fish were passable, but the sides were awful. Cold, lifeless, and completely forgettable. The broccolini was especially bad. We complained again, and the manager offered to comp the bill. Even then, it took another long wait just to close out. I eventually handed the server $100 cash because we simply wanted to leave and still tip something despite the experience. He then shoved the check open in my face and said, "There's your bill." What made this so disappointing is that we used to love this place. It was somewhere we proudly brought visitors. Instead, we left apologizing to our guest for how uncomfortable and confusing the entire night was. We do not care about free food or comps. We care about receiving a decent dining experience at a restaurant charging $30 cocktails and premium entree prices. Serea has declined dramatically, and management needs to take a hard look at both service standards and overall execution. Do better.

He recommended us to go to the Water Grill as is usually not congested and had great food. While we followed him to the restaurant, we noticed a lot of nearby bars around Petco Park congested and full. The Water Grill on the other hand was busy, but not congested and had availability at the bar and dine in. Just because it says seafood, doesn't mean the drinks are expensive. The drinks were reasonably priced, and comparing it to the stadium, the drinks were cheap. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Free sourdough bread was offered, where then came our food. The poke (appetizer) was fresh, light and tasty. Nothing too excessive that will fill you up, but will leave you content until you enter the stadium to sample their offerings. The fish and chips was of quality and crisp from beginning to end. The sourdough bread ws delicious and was accompanied by whipped butter. The oysters were fresh, and there was a variety of oysters. If you try the sampler, you will be able to taste oysters from the Atlantic ocean and Pacific ocean. There is a difference in taste due to the environment, but I'll leave that up to your taste buds. This establishment offered a wide variety of beers. They also have a full bar. The prices are very reasonable. I did wish that they offer a happy hour menu, even if it was only at the bar.
