Wow! I can't wait to enjoy another blueberry kolache! Admittedly my 1st kolache, I cant imagine a better one! The sweat bread dough, cream cheese, blueberries, and sugar topping was AMAZING! Ate it too quickly to snap a photo. Outstanding! Also tried a sample of the pecan bar and lemon ricotta cookie - each was a standout! May have to bring home a sampler of each next time! This place is awesome. I've never had anything bad here but today I tried the almond croissant. Omg. It was seriously better than any croissant I've ever tried. So freaking good. It was fluffier than most and more dense- hard to explain, but go try them! I love to bake and can really appreciate good bakers. This place is legit, probably the best bakery in SA. read more

Its hard to give proper stars to this place since I divide my stars by category, but here goes. This place has been around a long time, I think 2 decades, but Ive only been a regular customer for half that time. For brownies, cookies, and other sugar sweetened flour based treats, this place gets 5 stars. You can't go wrong here, and the prices are fair and reasonable. For specialty breads, like the famous seedy Birdman types, they get 5 stars also. Very unique flavors and textures. I feel like a Cockatoo when I slather on butter on their seed based breads!! Yum!! Squawk!! Now, here is where I put on my critics hat: if you want "artisan" type white or whole wheat breads, do understand what they make is quite heavy and plain, its like the fresh baked breads we were all used to prior to the 1990s, when thick and heavy was pretty much what you got everywhere. But styles and craftmanship has been upped tremendously , so for really tasty , light and airy breads good for sandwiches, spreads, cheeses, etc, your much better off going to Whole Foods or HEB Central Market. Visit the bakery sections at WF or CM, then visit BDB and you'll see and taste what I am talking about. When it comes to breads, I admit to having extremely high standards, as I know what the benchmarks are! Also if you call yourself a daily bakery, you need to make and offer croissants on a daily basis, not just once a week. Yes , they are hard to make and take lots of time, but croissant making is what separates the pros from the amateurs! Great example of why small businesses is better. The product is fantastic, from their cinnamon rolls to the jalapeño cheese bread. The staff is very personable and knowledgable. Everyone there is a baker. They run out of a lot of their speciality items every now and then but if you adjust your schedule right and actually ask the staff which times are best they will always hook you up. read more

Love Broadway Daily !! Fresh muffins, bread, scones etc. Can't beat it. My personal favorites are the cranberry orange muffins, birdman bread, bacon/cheddar scones and twists. There chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are great but pretty pricey proud on those cookies. read more

Whenever I am in the area, I stop at Daily Bread. There are plenty of samples to try, and a huge slab of REAL butter in case that tickles your fancy; and the samples are generous. Everything I have had at BDB is awesome. Goods are baked fresh every day; there is also a 'day old' selection which is cheaper. My favorites are the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and sticky buns. Everything is soft, fresh, and melt in your mouth delicious. I have yet to try the coffee there, but I know for sure that they don't do any specialty coffee drinks (i.e. lattes); they have different blends but it's straight coffee. read more

Wow! Broadway Daily Bread was recommended the me by a co-worker. I went for the first time last weekend. The place was hopping on a Saturday morning. It is very basic on the interior. Some metal shelves, baking equipment and a host of bakers. I don't drink coffee, but noticed nearly every other patron ordering a cup. My order consisted of a half loaf of wheat bread, raisin bread, oatmeal cookie and a banana chocolate chip muffin. My favorite of the order was the muffin. It was moist, flavorful and not overbearing. It was hard to put down. The bread was all fresh, and seemed to be made with care. The staff were knowledgable and friendly. Overall, we will certainly be back. It is not close to my house, but worth the drive! read more

Yumm-o!!! The best things here are the Danish rolls (cinnamon rolls topped with honey and pecans)!!! They ONLY make these at this location and ONLY on Thursday's. Best to call ahead and reserve them cause they go fast. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Very casual atmosphere... Lots of things to taste. My other fav is the oatmeal raisin cookies... Sooo... Every Saturday we used to eat at Cappycino's for lunch (5-stars for Cappy's) and then stop in at Daily Bread for a cookie and treats for the rest of the weekend. Usually, there are two or three lovely people working and it is a pleasant experience. Yesterday, however, we walked into the Twilight Zone. We stepped up to the counter and a young, overly-animated female asked, "Have you tried one of our cinnamon rolls?!?" We started to place our order for cookies, muffins, and croissant. "I'll give you a cinnamon roll on the house!" she continued. As my husband and I continued to name the items we wanted, her mind started to wander so obviously that we found ourselves repeating the items she was failing to pull from the open shelves. Finally we gave up and stopped, deciding to just leave with whatever had made it to the check-out counter. At one point, my husband said, "What about the almond croissant and orange muffin?" Little Miss Ding-a-ling grabbed the croissant and then went on and on about it being the LAST ONE! No kidding. Your shelves are open; we can see it is the last one. This morning upon inspection... NO orange muffin, NO free cinnamon roll, everything else crushed because she shoved too many muffins into ONE plastic sack. It is what it is, but the next time I see her working, we won't stop in for our weekend treats. We will keep walking. Two in the pink, one in the stink for BDB. read more

I've been here several times. On this visit I chose a cinnamon roll-soft 'n delicious all the way thru, a cream cheese kolache-sweet but too much dough, & a brownie-fresh but I wanted more of a chewy texture. We also picked up a French sour dough, they only had day old which was fine but it just wasn't sour enough. Next time I'll try the birdman, its full of seeds. Simply delicious! There are always several items to sample, so I have tasted most of their items. My family's favorite are the cinnamon rolls and cinnamon twists. I love love love the key lime bar and chocolate cupcakes. There prices are a little up there but they use quality ingredients. Customer service is always the best. read more

I love this bakery! Service is always quick and friendly. Various products are available to sample on the cutting board. Many of the breads are available in whole and half loaves. They will slice the bread for you if requested. I have had the white, wheat, and Birdman (has a variety of seeds), with the wheat being a slight favorite. A sliced loaf certainly doesn't stay soft and fresh quite as long as a loaf you can buy at the store, but fresh ingredients and (I assume) no strange preservatives will do that. The loaves do stay fresh for at least 4 or 5 days, which is more than enough (especially with a half loaf). Muffins, pastries, and cookies are yummy as well. The oatmeal chocolate chip is great. When I recently took my husband in for a quick visit, that cookie was available with chocolate frosting on it. Completely unneeded addition, but tasty just the same (my husband doesn't even like desserts and cookies much, but he certainly enjoyed this one). I actually won't mention my favorite item since they run out of it at times if I come in late, but suffice it to say there are plenty of lovely sweet options. I do wish they wouldn't call their pigs in a blanket kolaches, since that is not the correct name for meat-filled items, but I know that is a never-ending hope in Texas. :) read more

every time i come here, i struggle to decide what i want. everything they make is delicious! especially the cookies - double chocolate is my favorite. what really puts this place over the top though is the staff - they are always incredibly friendly and helpful. (special shoutout to the sweet cashier who gave me a free cookie for running to the bakery this morning!) absolutely love this place and wish i made it here more often! read more
