Cute Mom and Pop store located in a corner unit at one end of the Long Beach gayborhood, complete with the rainbow sidewalk markings right in front. Upon walking in I saw the most impressive display of different International Delight coffee creamers I've ever seen in a donut shop. I felt like I was at the supermarket. The donuts here are varied in flavors and texture. You go from fluffy texture, as in their Boston cream, to more firm cake-like texture, like plain and brown sugar glazed. Prices are typical for small Cambodian Mom and Pop stores at $1 each or $5.75 for half-dozen, and no tax. There's a table on the sidewalk right outside the shop but no interior seating. I think this is a fabulous shop to buy a few donuts and take a quiet relaxing stroll through Long Beach's small gayborhood - it would have to be a daytime stroll anyway because this place closes at 1PM. read more

Love this lil donut shop right in my neighborhood. I get the old fashion maple it's always fresh and the cake is deliciousness. My son likes the twists. I recently tasted the plain glaze and I think it'll be my new go too.. no complaints. Huge selection of creamers for your coffee. The 2 ppl who work there are simple, friendly not too much conversation they're just doing their jobs. I think all the donuts are a buck each worth it. I just realized they have ham and cheese croissants..I'll be trying them on my next visit.. Rude customer service.. the owner DEMANDING that I change my previous (completely truthful and mostly complimentary) review before I am allowed to pay for my donut (no coffee) and leave.. She was actually holding up the line of people behind me to loudly make this inappropriate point. This is what I get for being honest. Good way to loose customers, guys. Cuz after that fiasco, I'll never be back. I dunno, folks. The coffee creamers may not be diluted anymore; I haven't been back to try them out since the day I realized I was wasting my money on half and half.. but at the time of my original review -pretty recently-, after hearing complaints from several others and weeks of personally noticing something not quite right about them, I found the creamer rumors to be true. For the record, I hate drama.. and this was embarrassing :( Not cool. I was told by the owners that the different consistencies of the creamers must have been a 'manufacturers error'.. Riiiight. The vanilla creamer YOU get at the store should be the same consistency as the same vanilla creamer I get from the store, no? You cannot strong arm a customer into changing an account of the experience they clearly had.. and that was my experience, so the review stays, UNCUT. It's really sad that the owners feel they can get their way via harassment. As I said, I won't be back, and I would seriously warn anyone before writing any possible negatives about them here. I actually found this place through Yelp. They had great reviews and ratings and I had to check it out myself. I am now a regular here! The owners are the sweetest people in the world! They remember you after the first time you visit and are genuinely considerate of your coffee/donut needs, plus some. They have a super duper coffee and creamer selection. SERIOUSLY -- there's something for everyone. It's actually quite impressive. You have to go in to see it for yourself. I'm addicted. I love a huge selection of anything! I'm able to mix and match flavors depending on my mood all for $2 for a huge cup of coffee. Their donut selection is awesome as well. Broadway Donuts should change their name to Broadway Bar of Coffee and Creamer. I have NEVER seen such an array of coffee flavors and creamers all amassed in one location. They do have a decent size glass counter showing off confectionery delights, but I have the ability to walk in and resist the donuts...the coffee, however, is TO DIE FOR. The last time I was there, I was faced with deciding on one of about 20 flavors of coffee in air pump carafes, I chose vanilla cupcake. After I pumped the liquid hot brown caffeine into my cup, I then had to decide on a creamy dose of sweetness... I poured sweet buttercream non-dairy creamer. If you are reading this, you are probably getting a toothache right now, but it was really good, it woke me up, AND it put a smile on my face...how many things in life give you that kind of satisfaction?! read more

Quick & Dirty: Caffeine + Sugar = Me FLYING!!!!! I need to keep the peeps at work happy, so I decided to bring 'em donuts today. I read all of the positive yelps for this place and they were right! Great donuts, HUGE selection of coffee, super friendly service. Long & LOADED Version: They must put CRACK in their coffee because I was off the charts after going here! They had Kona Blend here! So of course I got a big ass cup of it and chugged half on my way to work. I also got a dozen of donuts for the gang at work and an Apple Fritter for myself to eat on the way. All of this came to $11. Both the coffee and the fritter rocked and I was flyin' high by 8:30!!! So of course I probably shouldn't have had that second "old fashion" donut, but I couldn't resist it! Needless to say my ADD was amplified tenfold. I was a HOT MESS. I didn't even start showing signs of coming down until around 11 AM. WHEW! What a ride that was. Overall, this place really kicked ass and I will be back for their coffee again. The lady inside was hella funny too. Since discovering Broadway Donuts I have now become a regular. I'm trying to keep my coffee habit in control so I only allow myself to stop here once a week. (Ok, sometimes I come here twice a week.) I fill my medium cup halfway with decaffeinated coffee and then top it off with Italian Roast, or Havana Espresso, or Hazelnut flavored, or Guatemalan Dark.... Broadway is a great place to get a donut and coffee before work in the morning. Lots of fresh brewed coffee and very FAST service. Donuts, fried dough covered in sugar... uh whats not to like? :) I think this is a cool family owned business that I like to support. I have also told some friends to go in and try the ham and cheese croissant. The owners are really nice and hospitable. They also offer full espresso service. (lattes, cappucino, etc.) The main reason i docked two stars is for the hours, and the cash only aspect. Donut shops are notoriously known for being open 24 hours. I was also disturbed to hear that they harassed a poor girl who yelped about the watered down creamer. (She gave them 4 STARS!! thats not even a bad review.) I dont care if they do or dont... because i take my coffee black. ....please dont harass my peeps. ... with that said, hope they dont recognize me! :P ... Pricier donuts than what I'm used to but you pay for what you get: quality. I bought a dozen and ate 3 different ones (or was it 4? 5?) and each donut was moist, textured, tasty, and surprisingly light. Their slogan could be "Donuts that don't feel unhealthy." A similar situation to sweet alcoholic beverages that don't taste like alcohol--dangerouso. Will gladly go back to try the varieties I didn't get to taste. They offer ORGANIC bananas, which is a big plus and if that is not enough I did not realize they only took cash and when I went to pay with my card the owner said, "It's OK, take the donuts and coffee and pay me next time." Damn, I just love donuts. These are definitely some of the best. The maple bar (it's a bar by the way, long johns are something you wear when it's cold outside) was just so mhhmmmm fluffy, doughy, light, and tasty. Hard to explain in words. Some things just need to be shoved in your mouth to get the full effect. The cake donuts are also a cut above the rest, lighter than others that I've had. Must be some pretty secret ingredients in the batter that the rest of the donuts friers don't know about. And of course the old fashioned are awesome. Sunday mornings in our household don't start without a quick walk to Broadway Donuts. The place is buzzing with people eager to get their first cup of joe of the day (my husband included). The amount of creamers is over the top (in a good way!) and my husband loves picking out which roast will be setting him up for the day ahead. The donuts are what I come here for. They're light, fluffy and not too greasy. Sometimes when my sweet tooth hasn't woken up just yet, I opt for the ham and cheese croissant. Get it heated up so the cheese is melted and gooey and your taste buds will be in a warm savoury heaven. I'm so glad we've found this little gem. After a long and restful sleep I woke up early and refreshed, and craving a donut. Now, I'm not much of a donut person... only really liking one type of donut which is really hard to ever find, but more of a cream cheese filled croissant kinda girl. So, off I walked in the quite of the early morning LBC to Broadway Donuts. I hadn't been in since it was demolished by someone who decided it needed to be a drive thru shop, so it was a nice comeback to see them all new and settled. The shop is clean, wasn't too busy, and service is in and out! I turned around to see that there was a wall of coffee and every single flavor known to man in creamer! Times like these I wish I were a coffee drinker. And that cream cheese croissant you ask? Mmmm-mmm! I typically want them warm, but was too impatient to wait until I arrived home to dig in. It was perfectly flaky and crispy, but just chewy enough, with cream cheese in every crevice, unlike most other places that barely give you any of the good stuff. Good way to start the day fo' sho! A figured I would give a highlights version of Broadway Donuts. FABULOUS coffee selection- Assuming there are 25 coffees and 25 creamers (completely believable), there are 1,225 different combinations of coffee and creamer to choose from. When I first went one of the men working the counter commented on how the coffee's were organized from non-caffeinated to most caffeinated. Lies. It goes decaf to regular caf coffees, and then moves on to flavor coffee (which is fabulous). I initially was a little hesitant about getting coffee from carafes, just because it seems a little Alcoholics Anonymous-esque. However, they all taste great, and all the different creamers are a real treat. I think a medium coffee is about $1.50. Croissants- My favorite is the jalapeno, ham, and cheese. They DONT skimp on the ham, and the cheese is ooey and gooey. A tad more jalapenos would have been ideal, too. People that order the J,H, and C want it cause they want something spicy, so give them what they want! Also, at about $4, they aren't exactly cheap, either. Also, they only take cash. Remember to ask them to toast your goods! Toasted JHM croissants are heavenly. A few comments: Every time I go there, there is a group of men sitting outside, taking up the only tables offered, heckling the customers in Spanish. Definitely one of the reasons that I don't go there as often as I would like. I speak Spanish and understand what they are saying, and when I bring a girl there with me and I can clearly here them talking about her, I am not going to come back. Furthermore, parking is terrible. I don't believe they have a lot, and parking in the neighborhood is sparse. Also, prices are high for a place that is cash only. I would be more inclined to buy if I knew I could use plastic. Two coffees and 2 croissants at a donut shop retails at about $12, way higher than I care to pay. read more

My morning regimen used to include a chocolate and maple bar, a large Kona coffee and some cinnamon twists for my wife. After being told of their array of coffee selection along side with creamers I knew I had to try it. As soon as I entered I was greeted by an older Asian gentalman and his wife. I ordered my coffee and right away he identified it was my first time there. He was kind enough to "show me the ropes" in the land of coffees. I went with the Costa Rican roast, wow! Good stuff. I'll admit it was challenging narrowing it down to one pick. I don't typically start my mornings off with sweets, but I was sold with the couples charm and bought a donut. I kept it classic with a chocolate twist. I was surprised at the airy texture of the donut, practically dissolved as soon as it hit my taste buds. It's a good thing I just bought one and left or else I would have overdosed on donut goodness. To sum it all up, prices are ridiculously reasonable and the coffee is delicious just like their donuts. Love this place! I went in for the donuts (which were awesome) but what keeps bringing me back are the ham, cheese (and jalapeno) croissants. Wow, so good!! I frequently order the same from other bakeries and usually they're filled with a thin slice or two of ham and a not noticeable amount of cheese. NOT HERE though!!!! Loaded with ham, cheese oozing out, and if you're lucky, you'll get there when they're fresh out of the oven, or at least still warm. Wow, so good! I live a block away from this place, and although i am not huge on donuts, It is the best place to walk down to and get a quick cup of flavored coffee with some flavored creamer. It's cheap too! $1.25 gets you a medium size cup which is around 16oz. and the couple of times I've gotten donuts, they have been pretty awesome. Not like other coffee shops where they try to imitate (and often fail) a European relaxed cappuccino life. This is a very American coffee shop. fast, cheap, sweet, no chit chat. Only reason I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I've only actually tried a donut hole from here and even though it was delicious, I'm not sure it was enough to give me an idea of how good the donuts actually are. I come here for the coffee! They have like 15+ different kinds of coffees (3 sizes) and literally every creamer flavor you could think of. This place is family owned and I opt to come here for my quick morning coffee over anywhere else I might run in (7-eleven across the street). The owner is seriously the sweetest man...I didn't have cash (I think there is either a minimum to use your card or it's cash only, regardless just bring cash) and he let me bring it to him the next day so I could still have my coffee that morning. I was bragging to my friends that if they didn't have donuts from a pink box, they really hadn't lived! They were brainwashed by Krispy Kreme... (yawn). On Sunday morning, as we were on our way to visit HRChurch in Pasadena, I googled a donut shop nearby the Marriott we were staying at in downtown Long Beach, and Broadway Donuts immediately popped up. I believe we were led here...!!! Had to park a block down from the shop, but, oh it was worth it!!! Such a warm atmosphere of customers gathered both inside and out. The service from both the women across the counter was priceless & precious. Thank you for your service! We bought a dozen, (way too many for the 4 of us), and coffee from the coffee & creamer bar. WoW!! Donuts...well, you're in for a treat. I am a donut lover, and I know my donuts, & am pretty serious about donuts! By far, Broadway Donuts, far exceeds any other donut shop...no kidding! The texture of their donuts are light, flaky, and not overly sweet. I love the regular glazed donut, and I was almost in tears after taking my first bite. (happy dance) After dinner that evening, we remembered we had donuts leftover from the same morning. We got them out, and as I was getting ready to warm them in the microwave, I decided I could not wait and took a bite. What do you know..? It still tasted as if we just bought them earlier!
