Your girl came back!! It's my third time at Broadway Lounge, and every time I go I always bring a new crew, because I love seeing their faces when we get sat next to that Times Square View! This time we were here for Mother's Day and I came with my niece, Mom and sister. After seeing Buena Vista Social Club, which was literally across the street (and fantastic!), we came to the restaurant to find that it wasn't open yet. Our reservation was for 5, we arrived at 4:30, and realized no one was there. No biggie; good thing there's a gift shop close by to kill the time. When we were finally sat and began ordering. One thing I love about this place is the ever-changing menu. I was looking for things I had tried in the past and even though I was disappointed to not find them (those curry mussels!) I was excited to try some new things. We started with the Mac n cheese and ribs. I wish the waiter would've told us there were only 3 ribs on the plate..as there were 4 of us. Luckily one of us voluntarily gave up our rib claim. The Mac n cheese also left us feeling underwhelmed. It was very under-seasoned and I'm not sure what noodles were used, but they were strange. Entrees, however, were a hit! I had the NY strip, which came with these buttery potatoes I can still taste! My mom got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, sister got the bourbon chicken, and niece got the rigatoni bolognese. Everyone enjoyed their food. We didn't even bother with dessert but we had some cappuccinos and called it a night. I discovered Broadway Lounge as I was looking for a place to have post-Broadway show drinks. The Lounge is located inside the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The space is large and can accommodate a diverse range of group sizes. The windows are huge, offering a front row seat to the spectacle of Times Square without the noise (the view is great). When it came to drinks, it took an extraordinarily long period of time for our server to take our drink order. In fact, staff member walked by our table twice, for me to say that still no one had come to our table. Finally, a server finally showed up. He was actually great. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very engaging. Unfortunately, the quality of the drinks and food didn't live up to the recommendations. I ordered Espresso Martinis (my hubby was safe; he actually had a mocktail that he enjoyed). My first Espresso Martini was pretty weak and watered down with no flavor, and the second had an extremely thick layer of foam on top. In terms of food, we ordered a Margherita pizza, which was extremely bland. If you want to find a place for (simple) drinks and a comfortable space that can accommodate large groups before or after a Broadway show and beautiful views of the iconic Times Square, the Broadway Lounge may be an option. I love the Broadway Lounge for a variety of reasons. One: the ambiance is very friendly and not pretentious. Yet, you feel like you are in the middle of everything because it sits in the center of Times Square. Two: It's convenient to Broadway shows. I made a reservation for five before going to see The Lion King. It is the perfect dinner spot before seeing a Broadway show. Three: You can do more than have dinner. But you can sit at the bar, relax and have dessert, or in the summer time, have drinks and cocktails on their outdoor terrace. Four: The food is delicious and you can find reasonable options or luxury dishes. *See pics* This is a fabulous NY experience whether you are local (I grew up in Hell's Kitchen) or a tourist. This restaurant has an incredible view of Time square! I tried the lounge twice while we stayed at Marriotts Marquis. The burger and salad were average, little over priced but you are paying for the view. Service was great each time. They have a DJ until 10pm so we just missed him. The DJ was packing up as we were getting seated. The food was good. I highly recommend the sautéed calamari (chef's kiss). We were staying at the Marriott Marquis on a Saturday to see a matinee Broadway show and then have dinner. We arrived early and we're waiting for our room and we're hungry so we decided to try the Broadway lounge and at check-in they gave us a $40 coupon so we figured let's try it. We ordered the pretzel with horseradish sauce, I ordered a margarita pizza. My wife had the grilled cheese with the tomato basil soup. All the food was really tasty and fresh. I ordered a glass of Bordeaux French red wine, which was really good and my wife had a Specialty cocktail which she really liked. Overall, everything was good. The only odd thing was my wife's. Grilled cheese came out first then the pretzel then a few minutes later my pizza and then several minutes later, then our drinks came out, our waitress was very polite and apologetic. The restaurant gives an air of being bourgeois and expensive, but it really isn't. It's located within the Marriott Marquis Hotel, so I'm sure guests of the hotel, as well as tourists, were eating there. It definitely wasn't crowded or noisy. The menu is simple. Could use a little more variety, but we enjoyed what we ordered and our waiter was friendly and just lovely! I got the Calamari and Artichoke appetizer with Arugala. Broadway Lounge & Revel & Rye are literally right next to each other. We opted for Broadway since R&R's bar tops were full. My usual go-to drinks are typically Espresso Martini, Cab or Old fashions. I decided to try something new ..since we were in NY for my birthday....& it was the most disgusting thing I've ever tried..lol. Service is quick..however the chairs..boy does it sit pretty low. Took the teen here after 15 years, and they "kinda" remembered the view. It's on the backside of the 8th floor. We asked the hostess for a window seat, and got it! Thank you! Ruth gave us great service. The Old Fashioned wasn't bad, but had a bit more ice than I like, but good. The Foaccicia bread was outstanding. But the real reason to stay is the view. They have a special menu that consists of cute cocktails and themes. I had the steak and fries and it was delicious. The expresso martini and bubbly with popsicle drinks was cute and fun. We had a reservation which was guaranteed for indoors but the Perch is first come, first serve and that's where I wanted to be was outdoors. Got lucky and a table was clearing just as we walked up. The ambiance was the only good thing about this place. The views were amazing but not the cost of terrible food. We arrived at 8:45 and even though it wasn't busy we still waited 20 minutes before anyone came over to take even our drink orders. Then we immediately ordered a pizza. Since the manager never checked in with us I then went up to the manager myself to inform him how bad our experience was and how bad the pizza was for a 2nd time. Paid over a hundred dollars for cold and hard pizza we didn't even eat and couldn't even get an acknowledgment or an apology. Food was amazing! I have been to broadway lounge a few times over the past couple of years. The location is so convenient and the staff are super friendly. Had a 7pm reservation but they allowed us to go in at 6pm ( the time I thought our reservation was). Food was great, it was my first time trying their pasta and it definitely did not disappoint. Drinks are always amazing too. What's special about this lounge is you don't need to be super dress to go. NYC is full of restaurants that you have to be dressed to impressed to dine in. I wore jeans and fit in perfectly. If you are in time square or near broadway definitely come here and see the views too. Price point is a plus also mostly under $30 a dish.
