We've now been to Broadway pizza three times and each time the pizza has been delicious and the Italian cheese bread with broadway sauce is always on point. Super friendly staff and a cozy environment. If you're wanting to get there before the weekend rush - make sure you're there before 5:30pm. I like things, places that came into existence the same year I did. I had a Seeburg Jukebox of that vintage, and Broadway Pizza and I were born the same year. Back in the day I used to visit the establishment, they had one location, in Northeast Minneapolis (which isn't northeast, any more than mid city in New Orleans is in the middle of the city!), and it included an assemblage of old railroad cars. Today they have over a dozen locations around the Twin Cities, and I visited the one in Richfield, which is a 'southern' suburb out near the airport and the Mall of America. I ordered my usual, sausage and olive, thin crust, of course, and the very pleasant server delivered the goods (and numerous soda refills) promptly. The crust was crispy and chewy at the same time, if that's possible. Toppings and cheese were very generous, and the sausage had some (to me) unidentifiable spice that made it unique (different from traditional Italian "hot" sausage (which isn't hot) or Italian "sweet" sausage (which isn't sweet)). This makes Broadway's sausage in a class by itself. I liked Broadway decades ago, I like them today. They have become my Twin Cities old-timey go to place, since the demise of the venerable Cafe di Napoli in downtown Minneapolis. Sniff. We decided to use Yelp to select our next place to eat and we chose Broadway Pizza on Lyndale as it was closer to our hotel. What a great experience. Felt like we were eating at home. We had a SUPER waitress and No i did not get her name. It probably doesn't matter as the other waitress was amazing also. They were fast and super efficient. Waitress recommended the cheese bread which was great. Don't forget the special Broadway sauce. Several things on the menu! One of us ordered a gluten-free pizza and said it was the best crust she ever had. I sampled a piece and it tasted like regular crust. For those of you who don't know about gluten-free pizza, you usually get a bunch of toppings on a toasted piece of cardboard. Not at this place though. They do not serve alcohol here so be prepared as pizza pairs well with beer. The waitress did extol the virtues of their 1919 Classic ROOT beer though. My pizza was amazing also! The classic! Can't say enough about our waitress though. She made a good food experience great! I highly recommend you give this place a try. Fast delivery and delicious food! Our neighborhood is under construction and difficult to get to. In fact, we had originally called Carbone's but they never did find us. We finally canceled the order after almost two hours. So they I said Broadway is better anyway and we called them. We gave them special instructions on how to find the place, and they managed to find us in 30 minutes! Love them! We ordered pizza and wings and everything was so delicious! I will order again! I think I'm done with Carbone's but Broadway is way better. Same sort of thing as far as thin crust and lost of cheese and toppings. The wings were surprisingly good as well. I think Carbone's is a dying breed and although Broadway is nearly as old as Carbone's, they have kept up with the times with regard to technology, customer service, and speed. read more

The next night, we ordered the lasagna. I tell you, it was absolutely scrumptious and such a large serving, my husband and I could eat well on around $11. I also liked the garlic bread. It was not too strong or weak. The next day, it was even better! Thanks to Nina being understanding and giving us a discount, we are now fans and will be getting our lasagna from Broadway Pizza from now on. So I changed their rating to 5 stars. Nina was very understanding and has stood behind their guarantee. So we are going to order from them again. She was kind and is giving us half price on our next order since we weren't happy with our first one. Their chocolate chip cookie with whipped cream, fudge topping and ice cream is the bomb. Deeeeelicious. They put them in separate containers and the cookie was in a pan with a cover. They put them in a bag. The cookie, itself, was hot, just like the pizza. One other compliment is for their choice to use cardboard, environmentally friendly boxes instead of styrofoam. Delivery was really quick even though they said it would be around 45 minutes. The pizza was hot right out of the box, and we like how they cut them in squares rather than triangles. I'll update, after trying another order. read more

My husband and I love the pizza and lasagna and have been there several times but on this experience I was craving something different. I ordered the appetizer combo platter. Would ABSOLUTELY never order again. We are foodies and I love cooking. To begin, the Jamaican jerk wings were heavily sauce based. These wings are usually intended to be a more dry rub. Honey Jamaican Jerk Sauce is the proper definition for these wings. The mozerella sticks were the worst I have ever had ... I have had better from the frozen section of the grocery store. We came to Minneapolis to see Prince's Paisley Park and stayed not too far from here. We came for lunch because it looked like they had a great selection of lunch options and we were right(We had a party of 7). I had a pizza and salad combo and it was great! For $10 I got a full garden salad and like a 10" pizza. The salad was a fresh garden salad with croutons. I wasn't expecting such a large salad since it was a combo lunch deal. The Cesar's and ranch dressings were both excellent. The pizza was also larger than I expected with a thin crust that made it so good. You have to try the Arnold Palmer here, perfect! Since 4 of us ordered it our server brought us a pitcher for refills to share for the table. There is a train that runs around the ceiling of the restaurant that I thought was pretty cool! The best part of our experience was our server Donna. She took our orders promptly, continued to fill our drinks & bring everything we requested with a smile on her face! I have been here several times but so disappointed this time. I wanted something different so I tried the Appetizer Sampler as I wanted some leftovers. Would NEVER order again. The Jamaican Jerk Wings were heavily sauce based. Jamaican Jerk is usually a dry rub. These should have been described as a Honey Jamaican Jerk Sauce. I could have had a better mozzarella sticks from the frozen section of the grocery store. The cheesy bread was just cheese and toasted bread. There was no garlic butter flavor. And the sauce for dipping, well, Ragu would been better. The best thing about the meal was the blue cheese and I used it for the celery. We love Broadway's pizza, and always go with either the Pepperoni Packed or Classic Deluxe. The only thing that prevents us from ordering more often is that 1) it's a little more expensive than other comparable nearby places and 2) (and this is the kicker) the website for online ordering is really hit or miss. Decent pizza spot in the area with a feeling like being at home. The pizza itself was a true thin crust which is impressive coming from Minnesota. I'm from New Jersey where the thin-crust pizza is the normal and it is perfected. I had the buffalo chicken pizza where my problem lies: 1. There is a slight buffalo flavor on the pizza. The menu says that there was supposed to be hot sauce with the pizza and there was practically no sauce. 2. I asked for the buffalo chicken pizza with no onions and I still got onions on the pizza which changes the flavor (personal preference) Still was a good pizza, would come back again but will try something else if I happened to be back in Minnesota. read more

I called in about 4:30 was greeted with respect. I asked for delivery to my hotel and it was no problem. About 30 min later I heard a knock on the door and had a hot delicious pie waiting on me. This pizza was cooked perfectly and it tasted really fresh and out of the oven. I don't like giving 5 stars usually but I can't really think on a single negative for this experience. We arrived there around 11:30 last Monday, and it was busy enought that one of the cooks came over to tell us to sit anywhere. It apeared there was only one waitress, a woman about 30 with blonde hair, who was quite cordial and was always helpful as she recommended the Classic Pizza among other dishes. We chose the Classic and it lived up to its name with its light, thin crust and a savory blend of veggies and several types of meats. Overall, it was among the best we ever had when eating out. But as the crowd increased, our waitress never forgot us and even made time to refill drinks. She never stopped moving from table to table and always appeared friendly and cordial to all customers despite the stress of waiting on so many tables alone. She was indeed phenomenal, and no doubt is one of the best waitresses in the Twin Cities. The setting with booths, and pictures of scenes from the early days of the Twin Cities along with the homey wood decor made this a 5-star plus eating experience. read more

The only downside for me is that I can only eat a couple of slices, and I get full. If that describes you, Broadway Pizza will happily box the remainder of your pizza. If you bring some home, I recommend you reheat in the oven instead of the microwave. They also make many other things which I haven't tried but look great. Three sizes small (honestly could prob feed two people) Medium (fed the three of us eating) and a large size. The price is just right for a thin cheesy pizza medium will be right under $20. They also offer rootbeer with a frosty mug no refills though! The pizza came out fast right out of the oven and the service was great. I requested just 1 cheese bread noticing they offered in a 4ct and they prorated the pricing for just one! The pizzas are also cut into squares not triangles but squares are so much better anyways! The place is very homey and inviting taking this railroad theme back to simpler times and a comfortable feeling. At first I wanted to say it's the garlic bread that won me over, but it might actually be the meat sauce that it's dipped in - together it's quite the combination.
