Frankly I wasn't expecting much given that it's a quick service option located in an airport, but the spring rolls were even better than the ones I had at their sit down restaurant in Fountain Valley. The portions were much bigger, more flavorful, and I love how they warmed the sauce. The crunch in the Grilled Pork Spring Roll was literal perfection. For $10, it was definitely worth it. This will now be my go to spot for food at John Wayne airport.
Second time dining at Brodard Express and I was not disappointed. They used to open later, so I was happy that they opened at 6:30am on a Saturday. Food took some time (7-10 minutes) since it's made to order. It's a great place to enjoy a nice warm meal before or after your trip. * House Special Bowl 5/5 - You can get this with rice or vermicelli. The bowl came with grilled pork, 2 shrimps, an egg roll, diced cucumber, lettuce, pickled carrots and daikon, fried shallots, and green onions. Everything was flavorful and tasty. The shrimps were especially good with a nice char. The egg roll was hot and crispy. * Jasmine Ice Tea Lychee Infused 5/5 - Super refreshing. Not too sweet or sour. There were even actual lychees in the drink!
Brodard never misses. Flew out of SNA & was pleasantly surprised to see they had Brodards express. I got my go-to order, the nem nuong (Grilled Pork Rolls), they usually serve three rolls but this had two. The dipping sauce with sambal is chef's kiss. Delicious right before our flight!!
Of all the choices in SNA in the morning, I'm glad that this is one of the options! Instead of heavy fried food, imagine biting into a fresh, light, and crunchy roll in the AM. Pair that with their coffee, you are good to go! Located between Terminal C and B, Brodard Express caters to travelers that venture through the halls of SNA. Staffs are super friendly and engaging which made it extra special. They also carry additional items such as banh mi's (Vietnamese sandwiches) and noodle dishes. But we all know why we want to visit here.. their Pork Spring Rolls. Around the area, there are plenty of seating for your quick casual bite. They are organized and efficient which helps for those who are on the go. One world of caution, it it a bit more expensive than their typical prices due to being in the airport. But, I would gladly pay for option. Also, though they don't open until 7am, talk to the staff if you want something simple. They most likely will accommodate you :)
For an Asian person, this would be a perfect place for snack and meal to eat while waiting 'n for the flight. They are well known in little Saigon and well established with the rolls so it's definitely a staple place to enjoy good foods. You can either order on line, kiosk or with the cashier. Overall, the foods are good and consistency. Nice & friendly service. Good and clean area and they have shared seating area.
Even though I had been well aware of Brodard's spot inside of John Wayne, I made a point of not coming here until I got to visit one of their actual restaurant locations. I know it might sound a little snooty, but, based on what I had heard from friends, part of me worried/figured that their famed Nem Nuong Rolls weren't going to be as good here. Now that I've been, those thoughts may be true, but only by the thinnest of margins! Located in the food court in Terminal B, this Brodard is obviously set-up differently than their restaurants. By comparison, the menu here is narrower, but it still has plenty to offer, including a variety of rice bowls, vermicelli bowls, banh mi, and, of course, their famed spring rolls. However, as their name suggests, everything is catered towards travelers on the go. Not only do they open early (7am) and offer a bunch of breakfast options (breakfast banh mi, breakfast spring roll, coffee, etc.), but they also have a bunch of their rolls prepackaged in to-go containers so folks can easily grab them on the run (the only reason why these aren't quite as good). -- BREAKFAST SPRING ROLLS (Bo Bia) - Vietnamese Sausage (Lap Xuong) and Egg Wrapped in Rice Paper with Veggies, Shallots, and Peanuts with Plum Sauce...$8.95 Ehh. Not "bad" per se, but their Nem Nuong Roll is way better. While the slice of sausage seemed fairly large, it was cut a little thin and I didn't care for the texture of the scrambled egg. Still, props for the creativity, even if this was more okay than amazing. -- HOUSE SPECIAL RICE BOWL with Charbroiled Prawns, Pork, and Crispy Egg Roll...$19.95 Pretty solid, especially for airport food. While neither the shrimp nor the pork had any char on it, and despite how the latter was a bit lean, both were well seasoned and the egg roll was decently crispy. Plus, I thought the overall portion size was pretty fair, too! -- BRODARD GRILLED PORK SPRING ROLLS (Nem Nuong) - Grilled Pork Patty Wrapped in Rice Paper with a Crispy Roll, Mint, Carrot, Daikon, and Cucumber with Brodard Sauce...$8.95 My favorite Brodard's roll and this one didn't disappoint. I loved how juicy and meaty the grilled pork was and how the crispy rice paper added a nice bit of crunch. Dip/pour on some of their Brodard sauce and you get a mouthful of deliciousness! Being that it's located inside of an airport, it's to be expected that the prices here are generally higher than either of their regular locations and at most other Vietnamese restaurants. However, aside from their banh mi, which definitely felt a bit steep, the prices actually aren't terribly high (the Nem Nuong Roll is about $2 more here). Plus, when you consider how convenient it is to pick up some rolls here to bring home, I'm more than okay with paying the extra couple of bucks to get them as fresh as I can before my flight!
Vietnamese food at an airport in America?! And is it good? It sure is. Might be better than many restaurants too Did not get the chance to get Brodard in Garden Grove during our trip but was able to seize the opportunity at the airport location before our flight Food was really good! The famous pork spring rolls were phenomenal and the chicken rice bowl was light, aromatic, and filling The steak banh mi was good but the bread did feel a bit stale (maybe not as fresh since this was 7 AM)? Would have loved to have some Vietnamese dessert (eg Che Ba Mau) too but that may be asking too much for airport diner. Overall if you're looking for some light, fresh, delicious food before your flight then this is a place worth trying!

So happy to stumble upon this place in the airport nonetheless! Great selections of the most popular items Brodard is known for, from the legendary spring rolls to grilled rib eye banh mi and macarons. Prompt and friendly service. Clean and plenty of seating. Located at the food court in terminal B of SNA airport, but easy walking distance from either terminals A or C as all terminals are connected airside. Makes SNA even better!
I have to admit, as much as I trust my fellow Yelpers, when I read about people visiting John Wayne/Orange County airport just to eat here, I was doubtful. But after the breakfast I just enjoyed on my way home (flying out this morning), no doubt exists any longer. The croissant breakfast sandwich (egg, green pepper, cilantro, slender carrots) was perhaps the best breakfast sandwich I've had in months--such flavor and quality, especially in the croissant! And the Vietnamese coffee was on point--I got the hot, normal sweetness version--and is about to convert me from my black-only coffee days. Don't miss this delightful and delicious food.
The best airport food, ever. What's not to like? Brodard at the airport is as good as it gets. I always go for their pork rolls and a combo bowl (can select rice or vermicelli). And if you have extra room, get a Vietnamese coffee.
Not bad for airport food. I had the pork bahn mi, and Thai tea, hubby had the beef bahn mi. Good flavor on both, a bit on the dry side, but still was filling enough for lunch while we waited for our flight. Gal taking orders was cordial, she suggested the pork bahn mi to me. It was right across from our gate, and there were plenty of seating.
No Priority Pass Lounge at John Wayne means settling for airport food. Luckily for us, they had a Brodard Location and it didn't disappoint. While I already love spring rolls, the grilled pork with the added crunch made this chef's kiss. This location is easy and fast- Perfect to grab a bite and be on your way to your Gate. Veggies were fresh and I couldn't have been more content with how it all tasted. They had adequate seating and when I asked for a rag to wipe off the table, the gave me one. Apparently, the airport janitorial staff hadn't come around in a while and the table needed to be cleaned. I also added a Vietnamese coffee to our order and I had to restrain myself from only having a few sips. I don't handle Vietnamese coffee well even though I absolutely love the taste of it. Thank goodness for friends who take all my leftovers no questions asked. Definitely check this place out if you're at SNA. Solid food.

As a big fan of Brodard, particularly their spring rolls, I was excited and surprised to see they have a small restaurant in John Wayne. I happened to be departing from the same terminal, and wanted to bring some along with me. I was able to place an online order so that by the time I got through security and came to the restaurant, they served me right away. I got the grilled shrimp and pork, which are their sausage spring rolls. I actually don't end up eating them until hours later, but they still tasted very fresh. The only thing I noticed that was off was that the rolls were missing the signature chives sticking out the end. They may have been inside and I just didn't notice, but besides that everything was up to standard with just very small quality/presentation differences if any. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: Get a taste of authentic Vietnamese food before you take flight -- just be prepared to pay a premium. (We've eaten at Brodard's other locations before, but this review will focus on its food-to-go shop at John Wayne Airport.) The Food: Hands down, Brodard makes the bes nem nuong. Period. Growing up in a Vietnamese family, I've eaten lots of nem nuong (spring roll with grilled pork sausage) all over the world, from Canada and the US to Vietnam herself. Still, Brodard's nem nuong is hard to beat. Why? It comes down to the delicious, soft sausage perfectly balanced against fresh greens and crispy egg roll skin (the latter being an uncommon ingredient in spring rolls). Plus, the dipping sauce is unique and tasty. We also has the house vermicelli bowl, which always satisfies. It's not the best in class, but Brodard always serves it up with a solid mix of noodles, grilled pork, prawns, egg roll, and veggies. Note: There were only 2 prawns and 1 tiny egg roll, which seems to be much fewer than given at their regular sit-down restaurant in Fountain Valley. The Service: Our cashier was friendly, fast, and competent -- which is a pleasant surprise for an Asian eatery. If you've been to enough of them, you know that customer service is lacking; it's just a part of the culture. (And I say this as someone who is Vietnamese.) But I'm glad to see Brodard management trains their employees to exceed (Asian) expectations. The Setting: It's located in between Terminal B and C of the airport, near other restaurants and the restroom, which is a convenient location. As a cafeteria-style area, there are various tables and chairs shared with the other shops. It was relatively clean with a welcoming atmosphere. The Cost: Here's where the complaint comes in. While the flagship Brodard location isn't cheap, the prices at this airport shop are significantly higher when you factor in the quantity you get. The nem nuong costs almost $9 for two rolls, basically $4.50 a single roll! (If I'm eating it as my main entree, I need to eat 4 rolls to get full.) That price is probably 25% to 40% more than the Fountain Valley location. The Conclusion: While the prices have crazy markups when compared to their the sit-down locations, this location provides a much needed shot of authentic Vietnamese food to John Wayne Airport. If you're tired of McDonald's, Carl's Jr, and other hohum franchises, and you don't mind the exorbitant airport prices, grab Brodard's nem nuong. You won't regret it. read more
Flew out of SNA again. And the minute I got through security, I made a bee-line straight to Brodard. Had the usual, Berkshire Bowl and mushroom soup. Maybe I'll try something different next time...or not. LOL The food and service are still 5 stars. It makes waiting for my flights so much better knowing I'm having a good meal first. read more

I didn't know about this stall at the John Wayne airport. I'm glad I walked the length when I arrived early to my flight. I decided to order the ribeye spring rolls. It comes with two large rolls. The price point of 13.95 is a filling option. I was looking for something satiating but not too filling and the inside of the roll had a great greens to beef ratio. The ribeye was sliced thin, lean cut and came with a delicious side of cilantro sauce. I honestly could not finish it as I was Loki g for a quick snack. I'd like to try a few of their other items next time. This is a great option for fast service, quality & delicious food. read more

Best airport food- even with the higher prices. Brodard has always been my favorite nem nuong cuong (grilled pork spring roll) restaurant and it's the perfect bite while waiting for your flight. The banh mi had great texture but the meat was bland and I was disappointed that the sandwich didn't have mayo. Still- 5 stars, 6 for airport standards! read more
Impressed, as usual, with Brodard's quality of food! I'm so grateful to have a Vietnamese option when flying out of SNA. I usually grab fast food when I'm traveling and oftentimes don't feel the best, so I'm glad I got to have a light meal before hopping on the plane. Service was great! Helpful staff. There was a long line when we got there. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our food. Ambiance was functional. I was happy to find seating right in front of the restaurant. My bf and I were also lucky that Brodard's was in the same gate that we were flying out of, close to gate 15. Nem nuong spring rolls were the same quality as you would find at the Fountain Valley location. It was my first time getting the vermicelli noodle bowl with egg rolls and the presentation was perfect. The eggrolls were extra crispy, just how I like it! 100% Coming here again and again when I fly out of SNA. read more
Had lunch here before my flight and I really enjoyed the rice bowl I ordered. The service here is great the guy who took my order gave me some good suggestions and my food came out pretty fast. I also thought it was a fair price as far as airport food goes. read more
Reasonable prices for light menu Vietnamese snacks and dishes. Brodard became known in Westminster for their grilled pork sausage/patty spring rolls (Nem Nuong Cuon). So I was happy to see they opened up a spot inside John Wayne airport. I ordered the Nem Nuong Cuon spring rolls ($9), which comes with 2 rolls, and a matcha sea salt milk tea with boba (about $7) for my drink. Brodard Express is located in Terminal B/C (around Gate 17/18), in The Marketplace and shares the open seating with the other food venues there. read more

I have loved Brodard's nem nuong spring rolls for a looong time now so I am happy they are at SNA. 4/20/25 Easter Sunday Catching the early flight home today didn't give us much time to grab breakfast. Knowing Brodard Express was available at SNA, we knew we would be good eating quickly at the airport or on the flight home. They opened just before 7am, we ordered Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea, staff shared boba wasn't ready so we opted without. Grabbed the containers of spring rolls (grilled pork & shrimp separately). The sauce containers used to be thicker. It was oddly watered down this morning leaving it less flavorful and less desirable as the thicker savory sauce was one of the reasons that make the dish what it is. They heat up the croissant before serving. Coffee is good. My son liked that Thai tea. Bummed it didn't come with boba. Prices overall are steep due to airport convenience. read more

The best food at the SNA airport. I was looking for something to eat before my flight. Having eating Disneyland food for three days I did not want burgers, fries, pizza etc. I came across Brodard Express and decided to eat there without a doubt. I've heard great things about their stand alone restaurant but have never been there. Anyway, I got a pork banh mi, some rolls and a salted coffee. It was delicious! The meat in the banh mi was cooked to perfection. It was seasoned will and delicious! The rolls, the best I've had! I can't wait to visit their restaurant. Although this is a stall in a food court at the airport, this gets a chef's kiss. read more

0/5 for the chicken banh mi. I really wanted bbq pork but they didn't have that, just a luncheon type of pork which I didn't like. Anyway, back to the nasty chicken banh mi: I really couldn't even finish it. The bread wasn't crispy and the chicken tasted like soggy teriyaki chicken, which did NOT belong in a banh mi. The flavor was just all wrong. No thank you. The spring rolls were decent but the regular brodard makes them better. read more

Still consistent every time I stop by. The nem nuong rolls were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly wrapped. The herbs and grilled pork tasted great, but the real standout is the sauce, seriously addictive and tastes like crack. Reliable quality, quick service, and a solid option when you're flying out of SNA. Always hits the spot before a flight. read more
My favorite item here is the breakfast roll or "bo bia" rolls in Vietnamese. It has jicama, peanuts, egg, Chinese sausage and lettuce and comes with a hoisin dipping sauce. The recipe for the Express is way more superior than the Brodard store in Fountain Valley and I think it's due to the jicama and peanuts mix. Absolutely have to get an order every single time I'm at SNA, which is a lot! The pricing is a bit of a shock if you are used to the Fountain Valley store. Fast service. Casual. Located between Terminals B & C at John Wayne Airport, is this express spot from the Little Saigon famous Brodard family of restaurants. While you won't find their extensive, multi-page menu that is offered at their Fountain Valley or Garden Grove locations, you will find a limited menu of some of their most popular grab-and-go offerings. In addition to a fresh pastry case with various toasts such as Flan Tart, Almond Croissants, and Butter Croissants - there were also various types of their famous rolls including Spring Rolls and the "Brodard" Nem Nuong Rolls (Nem Nuong is Vietnamese for pork patty). There's also various vermicelli dishes and banh mi sandwiches, but I wanted something relatively light since I was boarding soon. My picks were: * One order of Nem Nuong "The Brodard Roll" - comes in a two-pack of their famous rolls - generous proportion of filling and rice paper wrapper. Also comes with their famous dipping sauce. * One order of Baguette & Butter - this is probably my favorite pre-boarding snack - since it's relatively light (a freshly toasted baguette), and two pieces of salted butter. * One order of Jasmine Iced Tea - super refreshing and you can taste/smell the fragrant undertones of jasmine. They also serve Vietnamese Iced Coffee here too, but I wanted something light for my flight. Service is great - prompt and attentive. I only had to wait a few minutes after ordering. Clerk was friendly and offered suggestions when I was trying to decide. Prices were higher than their sit-down restaurant locations, but that's understandable considering its the airport. Still, the prices are competitive for food that's somewhat more healthier and flavorful than the other spots in the terminal. This is a great spot for a quick bite to eat in between flights. Brodard Express is really a nice addition to this airport that used to have limited food options such as McDonald's or Carl's Jr - both of which are still here - but Brodard definitely helps balance the mix a bit. Overall, a favorite! And if you're in the area and craving Brodard, but can't make it to Little Saigon, or Corona del Mar (where another sister Brodard restaurant is at) - you can pick up OC Airpass - which is free, and allows you access to the secured areas of the airport (like where this Brodard Express is). I didn't get to venture off in So Cal and I was craving Nem Nuong Cuon from Brodards and I forgot they have it at the airport. I went with a Banh mi and spring rolls. Friendly service and never a disappointment. That's all folks, cravings resolved. read more
The flavor is not any different than a regular Brodard, but something about eating spring rolls at 7am inside an American airport hits different. There is plenty of seatings nearby. The price is higher than normal but understandable for the location. I did not interact with the staff directly, but no complaint from my husband. :) read more

Located at Terminal C at John Wayne airport. This is the same great quality from their Fountain Valley location. I highly recommend their Brodard special bowl: pork, egg rolls, grilled shrimp, vegetables over vermicelli noodles with their sweet chili sauce! read more

I'm so glad they opened a Brodard at SNA airport. Now I don't have to go out of my way to bring Brodard back to the Bay Area. The nem nuong rolls, aka grilled pork sausage rolls, taste the same as if they came from the restaurant. The downside it was far from the Southwest gates. read more
Brodard Express at SNA airport sounds like it would be total trash deli meat on stale bread with sketchy wilted lettuce and tomatoes where the skin peels off like red dental floss. But it's not, it was actually a good choice in a sea of fast food burgers and pizza. This counter service Vietnamese restaurant had a pretty extensive menu and I ended up with a delicious Shrimp Bahn Mi and some Dumplings that was served up fairly quickly and tasted fresh. Great bread on the Bahn Mi! Crispy, long and thin like it should be. If you don't have time for one of the sit down options at SNA, this spot is a good choice where you can get something a little better than some of the other choices, IMHO. read more
