Brody's went above my expectations from the second we drove up! Their spot is beautiful and they've made such a great space for gathering and eating in a very cute area of south Sacramento. Food was amazing and fast and service sizes were well above other local BBQ spots. Sides are where they really shine, we loved their corn bread, collard greens, fries, and Mac and cheese! But their meats were flavorful and tender and hit the spot too. Where they really shine is their service. We felt cared for and welcomed from the second we walked in to the last bite. Highly recommend taking the trip to Brody's, they're a must eat for Sacramento. read more

Came to check out Brody's after seeing all the pictures on instagram, and I'm glad I did. I had the Cajun sausage combo, and it was delicious. Everything looked so good I watched the plates come out of the kitchen. We will definitely comeback soon for the bbq. read more

Probs the best ribs in sac (if you can get them) They sell out quick. I guess scarcity is good marketing, but horrible and disgraceful promises. They still get a 4 star bc their ribs are that good. This place is a hidden gem. It's got a low-key stepping back in the Bayou vibe and the food is some of the best barbecue in the area. We've been here twice and both times Erica has assisted us. Wife saw this place on Instagram and decided this is what we're having for dinner. You can tell they put some work into it and it'll be a nice spot for outdoor dinners when it's not so hot. Ordering system/set up is weird. Theres a small bar that's separated from the dining area but that's where you order the food. That's also where the sauce, take out boxes, napkins are at. We initially ordered the platter, but when we got the total the total was higher than expected. So we asked to review the order to make sure it was correct. Even though the menu said lists 2 sides with the platter they told us it's an additional $6 per side. The platter is supposed to come with 1/2 rack pork ribs, 1/2 lb pulled pork, 1 sausage and 1/2 of tri tip for $76. The math wasn't adding up according to the menu pricing so we readjusted our orders to ordering a la cart instead. We ordered 1/2 rack ribs, 1lb tri tip, chicken and 1lb pulled pork and a couple of sides. its a lot more food than what the platter offered and we couldn't order half lbs of meat, and still came out to be just a little bit more than the platter. As for the food...ribs were good and the highlight. It had a good amount of rub, extremely tender, a decent bark. Was it up there with some of the better bbq? Not really. It needed some sauce to really get any flavor even though there's a smoke ring and the evident rub. The chicken and tri tip were next. Good but just ok good. Again needed some sauce. The pulled pork is a pass. It might be because looked like it put under the broiler. It had a weird texture to it. It's their first day so I didn't want to be tough, but I did have some high hopes. Especially since we drove from fair oaks. I hope they work out the kinks and when I come back I can give a better score. read more

It took me a while to write this review.... Brody's has been me and my husbands favorite barbecue restaurant in all of Sacramento and we have been to many!! This is not your typical food review, this is something deeper... Brody's was our place to go every time after the gym. We were welcomed with open arms, and soon after greeted by our name and we instantly felt like family! Our dog bear, who was only 4 ,started getting seizures on January 3, 2025. He went from having one a month, to 20+ a day even after being on multiple medications. He couldn't sleep for five minutes without going into another seizure.. on May 23 we decided as a family to have to make the hardest decision we've ever had to make. I walked into Brody's to order bears last meal , I could barely get a word out as I was ordering his food. The gal at the front register immediately shared her condolences. She went in the back to get her manager.. and every employee came out and handed me bears last meal and gave me their condolences and prayers... as heartbroken as I was, I couldn't tell them how thankful I was for feeling the love that they gave me for bear. I walked outside to bear in the car, and the male employee came up behind me with a handful of bacon and gave it to bear, and gave us prayer hands and said that he was sorry and God bless us. My heart exploded with so many emotions, that was about to happen to our bear. Bear LOVED his ribs, chicken and bacon!! Which is crazy because he had stopped eating for a long time before.... Bear got his wings later that day. And we are thankful for the love that this company has showed us... we drive past Brody's all the time to take our daughter to school, only one thing comes to mind...... Bear. we know he is in a better place with a tummy full of yummy barbecue pain free. As a family. We cannot thank you guys enough.!! This world is tough alone as it is day in and day out. And I hope you guys know that that gesture that you gave me and my family that day will forever be embedded with us.. the world needs a lot more of that Love and I am forever grateful that I got to experience that in the most hardest time of my life. Below is a picture of our sweet boy bear. He now watches over us and the kids. We miss him forever and always... We would also like to introduce you to our new member of the family , who has helped pick up the pieces and move forward. Came here Saturday afternoon with a friend. We ended up getting the Smokehouse Platter so we can try a little bit of everything. Our favorites were the tri-tip & the ribs. Our waitress forgot our sides, and waiter was a bit confused on whose beer/cocktail went to what table. Very minor things when it's a new restaurant. With all things considered I would definitely come back. With decently priced bbq in the area it's hard to beat. It looks like they are building a patio area outside with few games which will be nice for group of family or friends. read more

Food was great. But company christmas party on the patio was freezing cold because only two heaters were working. Staff tried to get two other heaters working and even changed the propane canister on one heater that wasn't working. But their efforts failed. We couldn't enjoy ourselves because it was 53 degrees on the patio. The only people who stayed outside sat beside the two working heaters. If you're going to book the patio in cold weather, make sure the heaters work!!!! read more

Brody's did not disappoint. The portions were huge. The Dino Rib was amazing with a nice bark. It was smoked to perfection. I also loved the Mac and cheese and the chili was a nice surprise. Manager, Stephanie is fantastic. We have followed her from Firehouse Crawfish to Station 16 and now to Brody's. She is very personable and attentive. The greeters and waitstaff were very friendly and gave wonderful recommendations. The atmosphere is very well thought out. After coming here a few times Ill share my experience with you all. I have never been to a restaurant where you can pay 3 different prices for the same item. Take to pulled pork sandwiches, its 13.95 - 17.95 and 20.95 depending what time of day you order it, the portions and the same, nothing extra comes with the more expensive meal. regardless the tri tip sandwich is pretty good, not amazing just good. my wife ordered the full rack of ribs, they were just ordinary, again nothing special. we had the cowboy beans, they were ok. We also ordered corn bread, 2 pieces for 7.00 (all the other BBQ places we go the corn bread is free) possible the worst over cooked dry cornbread we have ever had. we told the other people in line as we were leaving to not order it. The thing that was not cool for us is on both of our visits the owner was sitting at one of the tables with her laptop and spreadsheets talking to managers? and telling them about how much they had to pay certain staff and that they needed to charge more and about the money they were losing. etc. fine these conversations need to happen in business, but take it in the back room, don't make customers feel uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly the first trip, the second time the server girl had zero personality nor could care less about our needs. She never came to check on us or refill drinks. First time trying Brody's BBQ and never had a Dino rib. Saw it on their menu and ordered it. First problem was the price,...., $38 for a single Dino rib!! Tasted good, smelled good,...., TOUGH as dry jerky!!! Not a single piece of meat on that rib was tender!! I'm no BBQ expert but, I'm sure it's suppose to be softer than that!! Just come here. I've been to my fair share of BBQ places in CA and Texas. Besides my husband's BBQ of course, I would come here before I go to the new "highly rated" place in Elk Grove (rhymes with corn). Brody's has flavor in their food. When we asked for spicy BBQ sauce, that's what we got, when we ordered the sausage they reiterated it was actually a hot link and it was good! Also the waffle fries were great with some ranch of course. This place didn't disappoint and we will come back! My husband and I have been searching for a new BBQ spot around Sacramento since our favorite one just closed down about a month ago. Brody's is about 35 mins from us, but we were excited to try it. We got there just before a rush of people around 12:15, just in time for their BBQ since it starts at 12pm. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband got the BBQ chicken plate with 2 sides: Mac and cheese and cornbread. We also tried the tri tip fries and each got a Bloody Mary. They have a ton of outdoor seating and the restaurant was clean. You have to grab all of your own utensils and sauces from their condiment station. We were a little disappointed when ordering. I wanted to add avocado to my sandwich, they said no. When asking why, the cashier just said "I don't think we can do that." And I was not able to change my side, I could only choose from waffle fries or a Caesar salad. Since we were already trying the tri tip fries, I got the salad and just tried some of my husband's sides. My husband wanted to try the ribs as well, and there was no option for a 2 meat plate, and he was not able to get just an order of ribs a la cart. We have seen a lot of BBQ spots offer a 2 meat plate option, so he was bummed that he could not do this. When the food came, everything was still really good. I was happy with my sandwich, the tri tip fries were good but the tri tip was a little on the dry side, and my husband's chicken was moist. His corn bread was probably my favorite out of everything we tried. It's a far drive for us, but we would definitely come back again. read more

We stopped at this cute little place after church on Sunday to check out their breakfast. We ordered a tri tip and a pulled pork omelette. While the omelettes were delicious (the smoky meats were fantastic) and came with tasty potatoes, to our disappointment, instead of toast, on the plate, was a dry green salad. A side of toast was an additional $5! Please at least give a choice of dry salad or toast for breakfast! The meal price for one person, with a cup of coffee ended up being $28 BEFORE tip. This is too steep especially for a counter-order, paper cup for coffee, kind of place. As much as I wanted to make this our go-to Sunday breakfast, I just can't justify $30+ per person for breakfast. No view, except the levee, you will get the Delta breeze in the evening. Ordering is done at the counter when you walk in. Its smokehouse BBQ a la carte. Order your meats, sides and drank st the counter, BBQ sawse behind you. Take your # stand and find a place. There are picinic benches all over some under pergola, some under waterproof structure, some are exposed. Outdoor yards has cement patio with landscaping and abundant hanging lighting. Outdoor games are provided. Staff brings you your orders and drank. Had to wait for drank a bit. It's mostly beer and cider, they also offer soju cocktails, no hard liquior. I ordered 1/2 rack pork ribs, mac and chiz, and collards. All the food was spot on. Pink smoke ring on the ribs, I believe the collards were cooked with smoked turkey and the mac and chiz had a slightly crunchy topping, BBQ sawse was great, I recommend the spicy. Some wanted their ribs a bit on the mushy side, fall-off-the bone, the meat was firm, but not mushy. The sawsage was spicy. They offer a "dino" beef rib, my buddy got the regular beef rib and they were pretty meaty. Everything was good, I ordered a Pilsner to help cut the BBQ ribs. Its all ala cart. You want it, you pay for it. Good selection of BBQ sides. Music ambience was boomer with outdoor speakers, but subdued. Nice place, funky vibe. Ill go back and order the BBQ Platter next time. My order, half rack of pork ribs (6) collards, mac and chiz and a pint of Pilsner with tip, fiddy dorra. Outdoor games and parking no charge. read more

Brody's is very new. Our server said it's been open about a month. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We sat outside on their patio which has one of the largest oak trees I've ever seen. They do have indoor seating and a second outdoor area. We ordered the smokehouse platter. It was very good. Meat was tender and flavorful. We chose collard greens and potato salad as our sides. The greens were bland and could have benefited from some seasoning salt, but they did have a good bit of meat in them. Potato salad was better. We also had the cornbread, which was very good. We had enough meat to take home for a second dinner. We'll return for dinner and we can't wait to try their breakfast. read more
