I love the Broken Yolk restaurant. Whether you prefer to sit inside or outside, both options are comfortable. The ambiance is light and casual, perfect for any brunch. The food is DELICIOUS. I find that I can cook a lot of breakfast foods myself but the pancakes, waffles, eggs, and sandwiches here are unbeatable. And the service especially, is PHENOMENAL!!! I had a really disappointing experience at Broken Yolk Cafe. The service was honestly some of the worst I've had at a breakfast spot. From the start, we had to keep flagging someone down just to get basic things like placing our order and getting water--it felt like we were serving ourselves. I understand servers can have multiple tables at breakfast, but this was beyond that. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed, avoided eye contact, and even cut me off when I was simply asking for water while we waited. The wait for food was excessive, and we had to ask for an update. We had already finished our drinks and were just sitting there with no communication. The explanation we got was that the kitchen was sending orders out "out of order," but from where we were sitting, we could see tons of plates piling up with nothing being served. Management didn't appear to be stepping in or supporting the staff at all. As for the food--very underwhelming. The bacon was paper-thin, the scrambled eggs had a strange, rubbery texture, and the homestyle fries tasted cheap. The Belgian waffle was also disappointing. The only highlights were the latte and the biscuit, which were actually good. For two people, the bill was over $40, which felt completely unreasonable for the quality of both the food and service. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and a complete waste of time. I wouldn't return. read more

The bacon wasn't fresh; it lacked crispiness, wasn't hot, and had a plastic-like texture. The hash browns undercooked inside. The service was excellent! Came for Mother's Day at 11:30am without prior reservations. Big mistake. Initial wait time was 1.5hrs, but it later became 2hrs before we were finally seated. Took another long while before we even got our order to the table. It was very busy so we should have expected this. Ordered the Golden State/Classic Benedict, Hash Skillet, Banana Pancake, Waffle, and other smaller orders for the kids. Took 25mins to finally get our food. Asked to have them leave one topping off my Benedict due to allergies, but they forgot. They were quick to correct it though. Food was somewhat decent and we know it was a busy day, but we should have gone elsewhere. Lesson learned. read more

I'd had a couple of really good breakfasts with a pal - around 9:00 am on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I kind of built it up to my wife, telling her she'd love it. She didn't. And neither did I. On our midday Friday visit everything was cold, my overcooked scrambled eggs were rubbery and her pancakes were heavy and her hash browns cold. Showed up around 10 minutes later and checked in and to my astonishment I saw I was 2nd on the list and the server touched the screen and it moved me to the end and she said 20 minutes wait. I asked why and she mumbled something about policy. The wait list was not a wait list at all but a hook to keep people from going somewhere else. When I couldn't remember what entree I ordered previously, she was able to tell me once I told her what the meal included. Top notch service and we'll be sure to sit in her section in the future. *Pre-Covid* Dined outside with a group of friends and had a good brunch together! We all ordered hearty meals that we thought were worth the price (granted, this was from a few years ago). Portions were surprisingly decent, and staff were accommodating. I liked how perfectly runny the eggs were, whether poached or over easy. And not only did they taste great on everything - they look great in pictures, too! This place is not messing around with a name like "Broken Yolk" haha. Had a really awful experience here. I've ordered catering from another location so I was really looking forward to trying this one. It took literally an hour for our food to come out and we had to ask about it twice. The servers did not seem to notice or care that we were one of the few tables without food for a long period of time and they forgot to bring my arnold palmer which I ordered right when we sat down. I waited 30 minutes before finally asking about it and it still took them another 15 minutes to bring it out. All of our food was extremely mediocre and my friend found two pebbles in her huevos rancheros...literally rocks in her food. We didn't say anything because we simply didn't want to wait even longer for them to bring a new one, but it was gross. I found an eyelash in my hasbrowns. The toast was barely toasted and almost soggy in the middle somehow. They got my order wrong too and gave me sausage instead of bacon. I asked for a side of bacon and the bacon they brought out was not crispy at all. We could tell it was going to take them forever to bring our check so we went up front to pay and the workers at the front took about 10 minutes just trying to find our server and figure out which table we were sitting at despite me telling them I could say exactly what we ordered and pointed directly at our table. What should have been a nice breakfast/lunch turned into almost 2 hours of waiting for disappointing food and we all left in a bad mood. read more

**Five stars aren't enough!** The food was GREAT--but the service? Even better. We came in for brunch with a party of 9 (loud, chaotic, and very hungry), and Genesis and Maria handled it all like total pros. We were THAT group that moved tables together and then asked for permission after... They tag-teamed our table with so much patience and kindness--you'd think wrangling our crew was easy. Our coffees and waters were always topped off, and they never missed a beat. I had the Christmas Chilaquiles (both red and green sauce, because why choose?) and they were absolutely delicious. Saucy, flavorful, and the plate was *massive*. The table also ordered 3 rounds of Classic eggs Benedict, a Mom Omelet, and the strawberry/banana/nutella crepes. The trio comes with the Tiki-Toast, Crunchy French Toast, and Cinna-cake. MY FAVORITE would have to be the Cinna-cake. Super sweet and decadent! Least favorite is the Tiki Toast just because I'm not the biggest fan of coconut. The crunchy one was good with syrup! This was a big portion for just one person, and I ended up with half of each leftover. Service was quick considering how busy they were. They were kind and attentive and really friendly! It's extremely busy on a weekend, but parking wasn't hard to find. The one weird thing was that we had a table of 5 and they added a seat to the end of the booth. It was kind of awkward because I felt like I was in the way. Other than that, I'll happily come back for more of the cinnamon roll pancakes!!! read more
