We came in for a mid-morning breakfast close to Disneyland. It was busy but we were seated immediately. The highlight of our visit was being seated at Riley's table. She was so helpful. I asked what makes the Caramel Latte "messy" and she explained that the caramel itself is plentiful and therefore messy. She refilled my cup with coffee after I finished the latte. The food itself was just ok, nothing spectacular. The bathroom is clean with multiple stalls and one sink. I would come back for breakfast and possibly to try the burger.

We joined the waitlist before we arrived. They sat us as soon as we arrived. Big location with plenty of seating. The food portions are big enough to share. Prices are average. My favorite are the steak chilaquiles make sure you ask for them mild.

I've never really gone out for brunch, so this place was such a delight for my first time! The wait was 20-35 minutes, but we definitely waited only like 10 minutes for our table. So expect to enter in a waitlist because it gets crowded! The food was amazing! Absolute 10/10! I got the hash skillet which was a much larger portion than I thought I was going to get. Soft potatoes with gooey cheese, bacon bits, green onions and scrambled eggs (but you can get the eggs however you like them!). Every bite was delicious! I even tried my sister's and my best friend's chicken and waffles, which I will definitely get next time. The chicken was crispy and the waffles are so nice and fluffy. It's also amazing paired with their syrup that they have on the side. For my drink, I got their messy caramel latte and it is packed with caramel drizzle and whipped cream, with a nice coffee flavor. The overall ambiance is very nice, definitely what you expect from a busy cafe. And our server was great too! Definitely a recommendation for a weekend brunch!

Had a great breakfast at the Broken Yolk Cafe. You know when they do coffee right, it can't go wrong. I ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict with hash browns, and my friend Joe had the American Breakfast with English muffin and bacon. Our server was friendly and checked on our coffee regularly. They were quite busy for a Sunday morning and we had a little wait. I'm glad we tried this place out. Very reasonable prices and good portions. I was satiated and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I have to give special kudos for the hash browns. I know they must not be too healthy because they were so delicious. I normally don't finish my potatoes but this was exceptional. They had many tables and the parking was shared with a nearby strip mall. It had a nice diner feel to it and there were many locals eating here.

What's not to like about this place? This is the second time that I have visited this place. The first time was a year ago, after going to Disneyland. This time I'm here again after visiting Disneyland. Is it becoming a trend? Well, this time we lyfted here from our hotel across from Disneyland, a quick ten minutes, and we arrived. It wasn't too busy, and we were seated right away. Our server (Alicia) was dropping off drinks and said she would be right back. She came back with a huge smile on her face, introduced herself to us, and took our drink order--coffee and water for me. She quickly returned and asked if we were ready to order. We were not ready to order yet, since the menu was so big and everything looked so good. We finally ordered, I got the Southern Biscuit and Gravy with French Fries My wife ordered the CA Omelette. In no time at all our food had arrived. The biscuits were light and fluffy, the gravy was perfect with enough sausage in it to fill you up. French fries were golden brown and hot. I finished my plate, cleaning every crumb off of it. What a great breakfast, and my new go to when I'm in town at Disneyland

Came back again with my husband and seriously I can't wait to try their whole menu. Their smoothies are AMAZING. Highly recommend getting the strawberry banana smoothie. Both the tuna melt and lemon ricotta pancakes were great, but dang their onion rings and fries are just as good and compliment the main dishes well. Service is always exceptional and even when they're busy, the ambiance is always welcoming. Can't wait to come back!

I came here on a weekend and it was packed as expected! It's a huge cafe with so many tables and gives diner vibes. I got the choose two benedicts and got the border benedict and sope benedict. The border benedict came with a sweet corn base that added a nice flair. The carne asada and the sauce really pulled everything together and it was delicious! The sope benedict was also very flavorful, and they were very generous with the beef barbacoa and avocado. I also really enjoyed their pico de gallo, which was very refreshing and contrasted nicely from the savory barbacoa. Both benedicts' eggs were perfectly runny and I loved that I was able to try both for an extra few dollars! I took off a few stars because the service was overall just so slow that it took away from our dining experience. It took long for us to get seated, even longer for our server to take our order, and EVEN LONGER to get our food, and for that alone I probably wouldn't come back.

This place is so busy but luckily we beat the crowd. They have a big menu with many omelette options. Service is great. My soup-salad-sandwich combo is decent. Don't really like the tortilla soup - not much in it. The soup is overpowered by huge tortilla strips. The tuna sandwich and Caesar's salad are both decent. BF had the Mom Omelette. It looks so colorful, tastes good, and feels healthy from all the veggies. Iced Spanish Latte is good. Wish they had more seasonal coffees.

I've been here at least 50 times and I genuinely don't get some of these 1 star reviews. The place is clean, the food is good, and the service is always on point. What I have seen is some customers being rude and shitty towards servers. At some point you have to wonder: are you reviewing the restaurant, or the consequences of your own attitude? Also, it's brunch. On a weekend. There's going to be a wait. Use the waitlist and let's all act surprised together.

Tropical mimosa flight at Broken Yolk Cafe Light, fruity, and the cutest brunch sip!
    Megan Y.

Broken Yolk Cafe was sooo good for brunch The food was delicious and totally worth the 45 minute Sunday wait. I loved my meal and the mimosa flight was fun. They mostly have wine based drinks just so you know. It's more of a come hungry and enjoy great food vibe than a dress up cocktail brunch spot but I would definitely go back. Plus the prices were really reasonable.

The wait wasn't too bad. We waited about an hour. Our servers name was Sam. She was nice and attentive, but towards the end, she never came to our table. We asked her to bring us a bag so we could take our food to go, but she never showed up. That was unfortunate, but we just ended up getting one from someone else. Also, when she was ordering our food, she didn't tell us half of the stuff we were getting was an up charge until we got the receipt. But the food was good and the food came out fast.

I keep telling myself I'm going to get something other than an eggs benedict and then I order the same thing. This time I switched it up and selected the "Choose Two" with a golden state and a sope benedict with fruit. Loved it! My niece got the sope benedict with hash browns. Really can't go wrong here, everything tastes good (from what people tell me!) okay next time I'll try something different!

Ambience on the inside as well as the outside are both pretty great. I've also never had a bad meal here, virtually all of their food is spectacular and made from scratch although their prices are not "cheap" they are also very fair, especially given the quality of food. The drinks are also dead on, they have a wide range of craft beer as well as a full bar. The service is great. The only thing I could think of the lands in the constructive arena is their live music. Sometimes they have open mic nights, other times they have a hired band or musician. The music is way, wayyy too loud. I don't mind live music, but it can't be so loud that you are unable to enjoy the company. Patrons should be able to talk to the person or the people next to them without being drowned out by the music. I recently came with friends for drinks and we were having a great time for the first 10 minutes we were there, but when the music started, we couldn't hear each other talk at all. So we just sat there quietly, drowned out to mediocre music. We all had another drink and then left. Might be a better idea to have the music loud enough to be slightly above background noise, but low enough where you can reasonably talk and listen to those around. Even ordering at the bar was tough. We would yell an order at the bartender, who would yell at back for confirmation. Often, exchanges in this dialogue included "what was that?"

The crispy rice looked and tasted interesting. These were cubes of rice packed together with the outer edges fried. The cube resembled fried tofu because the inner part was soft with rice filling. I thought the dressing was decent and complemented the salad more than the ahi tuna. This entree comes in a large portion as well. Overall, the ambience was decent inside. Since there were tables already reserved inside, the bar was the best place to watch the game. The inside dining area was relaxed as we were the only ones there for the majority of our visit. We talked a little bit with the bartender as well. I was also surprised to see some board games at one side of the restaurant. In contrast, the patio was lively, and there was someone performing music. There weren't many suitable tables to watch the match outside, so we opted for dining inside.

When I ordered my leftover tuna melt sandwich to go, I was impressed that the server labeled the box and dated it. This little detail showed the server cares for its customers. Food - came here for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. I ordered a tuna melt sandwich, my hubby ordered a short rib benedict; other people in our party ordered chilaquiles, omelet and burger. The burger was very large that two people were able to share it. Everyone seemed to be satisfied with their food except my hubby and I. The tuna in my sandwich was super salty, I could barely eat it. Still, I asked to take my leftover home so I can remedy it by adding pickles or something sweet to temper the saltiness. My hubby said his short rib benedict was meh, nothing to write home about. I didn't want to ruin my friend's birthday by making a fuss about our orders. I am just quite surprised how anyone can screw up a tuna sandwich. By the way, this was not the only place this has happened. It is my favorite sandwich and unfortunately, I have been let down many times - Superba (too dry), Goat and Vine (too salty) and now here. They should try this sandwich at Cafe R&D in Newport Beach or even Corner Bakery where they make it well. So disappointing and sad!

I visited this restaurant for the first time and made a dinner reservation for my mom's birthday…read more Every Wednesday, they have discounts on their roasted prime rib cuts. For example, the cottage cut (seven ounces) costs $39 instead of $59 on Wednesdays. Despite the pricy menu items, the food quality, service, and ambience make for an excellent opportunity to celebrate a special occasion. Firstly, we ordered the seaside sampler for four as an appetizer. This included Chesapeake Bay-style crab cakes, chilled Mexican prawns, and ahi sashimi. I enjoyed the ahi sashimi the most as the large and fresh slices had a nice sear with a savory seasoning on the edges. The crab cakes tasted great and filling with a dill horseradish aioli as the menu listed. While I didn't try the prawns, my mom enjoyed those the most as they had a slightly sweet flavor. I did enjoy the cocktail sauce. Secondly, I ordered the cottage cut, which included seven ounces of roasted prime rib, creamed corn au gratin, creamed spinach, and a Yorkshire popover. The cut tasted lovely at medium rare as it had a soft texture and good balance of meat and fat. I appreciated that my mom got an especially thick cut of prime rib. Seven ounces feels just right for me given that the entree includes other sides. The creamed corn au gratin tasted a little sweet without an overwhelming flavor. I liked how the creamed spinach had a similar taste. A Yorkshire popover has an airy texture with a buttery and eggy taste. Au jus and horseradish butter elevated the prime rib. Thirdly, we had an English trifle for dessert. The menu says that the trifle consists of cake layers soaked with rum and brandy, including English custard, strawberries, Chantilly cream, and caramelized sliced almonds. It had a uniquely sweet flavor due to the soaking, and the almonds provided some crunch. I found the dessert tasty. I found the staff polite, friendly, and professional. Our server disclosed the discounts on their prime rib cuts and listed their prices. She also mentioned other featured entrees in detail. The staff also consistently refilled my water glass. We also had the opportunity to ask another staff member for olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette for our baked bread. He came back and made a little small talk, fondly reminiscing how his former restaurant would serve the same sauces with their bread. My mom also got a birthday card with a printed message and signatures from the staff. The restaurant provided a simply elegant ambience. While entering the indoor seating area, we passed an exhibition kitchen and table displaying various desserts. Customers generally wore semi-formal clothing, and the restaurant recommends business-casual attire. A pianist played various songs and tunes to make for a fancy yet calm atmosphere. I especially enjoyed how the pianist played "Clair de lune." It felt nice to experience a rare moment of hearing classical music played inside a restaurant. It appeared that many diners were there for a special occasion. Started off with the crab cakes which didn't have much crab...bummer. It was more like breading with a little bit of crab. It didn't taste like crab cake either. The scallops appetizer was also lacklustre as the bacon had some heavy baking soda aftertaste?!? The mushroom appetizer was different. Highlights from the meal included the dry aged prime ribeye which had a fantastic char, fantastic marbling, and cooked to a perfect medium rare! Portions were gigantic and perfect for sharing! The chilean sea bass entree was also gigantic and really nicely executed with super flakey sea bass. The bone marrow mac and cheese was very rich and came out as a gigantic portion, perfect for sharing. Our waitress throughout the evening was fantastic. Ended the meal off with the dessert sampler which was a fantastic way to try out all their desserts in a smaller portion! ~$110/head after tax and gratuity with plenty of leftovers!
