This is one of my favorite places to come in Fullerton with friends, or to bring my wife on a date…read more Their patio is dog friendly, which is nice for pet owners. Ambience on the inside as well as the outside are both pretty great. I've also never had a bad meal here, virtually all of their food is spectacular and made from scratch although their prices are not "cheap" they are also very fair, especially given the quality of food. The drinks are also dead on, they have a wide range of craft beer as well as a full bar. The service is great. The only thing I could think of the lands in the constructive arena is their live music. Sometimes they have open mic nights, other times they have a hired band or musician. The music is way, wayyy too loud. I don't mind live music, but it can't be so loud that you are unable to enjoy the company. Patrons should be able to talk to the person or the people next to them without being drowned out by the music. I recently came with friends for drinks and we were having a great time for the first 10 minutes we were there, but when the music started, we couldn't hear each other talk at all. So we just sat there quietly, drowned out to mediocre music. We all had another drink and then left. Might be a better idea to have the music loud enough to be slightly above background noise, but low enough where you can reasonably talk and listen to those around. Even ordering at the bar was tough. We would yell an order at the bartender, who would yell at back for confirmation. Often, exchanges in this dialogue included "what was that?"

I thought the dressing was decent and complemented the salad more than the ahi tuna. This entree comes in a large portion as well. Overall, the ambience was decent inside. Since there were tables already reserved inside, the bar was the best place to watch the game. The inside dining area was relaxed as we were the only ones there for the majority of our visit. We talked a little bit with the bartender as well. I was also surprised to see some board games at one side of the restaurant. In contrast, the patio was lively, and there was someone performing music. There weren't many suitable tables to watch the match outside, so we opted for dining inside.

I didn't want to ruin my friend's birthday by making a fuss about our orders. I am just quite surprised how anyone can screw up a tuna sandwich. By the way, this was not the only place this has happened. It is my favorite sandwich and unfortunately, I have been let down many times - Superba (too dry), Goat and Vine (too salty) and now here. For example, the cottage cut (seven ounces) costs $39 instead of $59 on Wednesdays. Despite the pricy menu items, the food quality, service, and ambience make for an excellent opportunity to celebrate a special occasion. Firstly, we ordered the seaside sampler for four as an appetizer. This included Chesapeake Bay-style crab cakes, chilled Mexican prawns, and ahi sashimi. I enjoyed the ahi sashimi the most as the large and fresh slices had a nice sear with a savory seasoning on the edges. The crab cakes tasted great and filling with a dill horseradish aioli as the menu listed. While I didn't try the prawns, my mom enjoyed those the most as they had a slightly sweet flavor. I did enjoy the cocktail sauce. Secondly, I ordered the cottage cut, which included seven ounces of roasted prime rib, creamed corn au gratin, creamed spinach, and a Yorkshire popover. The cut tasted lovely at medium rare as it had a soft texture and good balance of meat and fat. I appreciated that my mom got an especially thick cut of prime rib. Seven ounces feels just right for me given that the entree includes other sides. The creamed corn au gratin tasted a little sweet without an overwhelming flavor. I liked how the creamed spinach had a similar taste. A Yorkshire popover has an airy texture with a buttery and eggy taste. Au jus and horseradish butter elevated the prime rib. Thirdly, we had an English trifle for dessert. The menu says that the trifle consists of cake layers soaked with rum and brandy, including English custard, strawberries, Chantilly cream, and caramelized sliced almonds. It had a uniquely sweet flavor due to the soaking, and the almonds provided some crunch. I found the dessert tasty. I found the staff polite, friendly, and professional. Our server disclosed the discounts on their prime rib cuts and listed their prices. She also mentioned other featured entrees in detail. The staff also consistently refilled my water glass. We also had the opportunity to ask another staff member for olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette for our baked bread. He came back and made a little small talk, fondly reminiscing how his former restaurant would serve the same sauces with their bread. My mom also got a birthday card with a printed message and signatures from the staff. The restaurant provided a simply elegant ambience. While entering the indoor seating area, we passed an exhibition kitchen and table displaying various desserts. Customers generally wore semi-formal clothing, and the restaurant recommends business-casual attire. A pianist played various songs and tunes to make for a fancy yet calm atmosphere. I especially enjoyed how the pianist played "Clair de lune." It felt nice to experience a rare moment of hearing classical music played inside a restaurant. The restaurant also provides valet parking if you can't find a convenient spot.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely adore their Benedict selection--those eggs are like little pockets of happiness. However, my recent experience at their Fullerton location left me shell-shocked and chuckling at the same time. We strolled in around a little after 7 a.m., ready to fill our bellies with yolky goodness. The restaurant was as empty as a desert ghost town, so we thought we hit the breakfast jackpot. But oh boy, were we wrong! We eagerly approached the hostess, hoping to secure a table and dive into an eggy feast. Instead, we were greeted with a waiting time of 10 whole minutes. Now, I understand that patience is a virtue, but when you're faced with an empty restaurant, it's like waiting for a punchline that never comes. To make matters even more hilarious, our encounter with the waitress deserves its own comedy sketch. With a pinch of sass and a dash of rudeness, she informed us that the cafe wasn't open yet. Hold on a minute, lady! There were people sitting and munching away on their breakfast right in front of our eyes! I couldn't help but picture an invisible force field separating the "open" and "closed" sections of the cafe. At that moment, the irony struck me like a bolt of lightning. Across the street, shining like a beacon of breakfast hope, was the majestic iHOP. It was as if the universe was saying, "Hey, if you want a hassle-free breakfast, head on over there!" The comedic timing couldn't have been more perfect. Despite our misadventures, I must admit that The Broken Yolk Cafe still holds a special place in my heart. I was here in tuesday. This review is manly for our server Azuncion. (Plese give this man a raise) I'm so impressed and honestly it made my whole day how he went about and beyond for me. I ordered the chilaquiles and ask wich Salsa was spicer (I love spice) he said none, and he could tell I was disappointed. I still ordered it anyway and was going to put hot sauce. One the food came out, he went out of his way to bring me a side of sliced Serrano peppers. It's small gesture but he really did not have to do that. Oh my goodness, I just had to share about this amazing spot we found! The food there was truly out of this world - so incredibly fresh and every single bite was absolutely delicious. They really nailed it! And the atmosphere? It was such a delight! The place felt wonderfully bright and open, which was a welcome change from some of those dark and dreary spots you sometimes encounter. It had this lovely, cheerful vibe, exactly what you'd want for a relaxing meal. What truly made the experience special, though, was our server, Brittany. She was an absolute gem! Super bummed. So we ordered online it said it would be ready at 815. We got there at 820. We weren't acknowledged for like 5 mins with servers and hosts walking past us. Then they direct us to the back to pick up our Togo. The server said she was doing our drinks but the food just got done she asked us to wait outside and they will bring it out so us. We got two orange juices, a coffee and a smoothie. After 20 minutes we finally go back inside and they still were not done and nobody acknowledged us again. So then we finally get them after 5 minutes. We go home (3mins away) and by that time our food was freezing cold and they didn't give us have our food. Never going back. read more

We had a wonderful experience dining here. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant felt clean and welcoming, setting the tone for a great meal. Our server, Samantha, was outstanding--friendly, efficient, and attentive, always anticipating our needs without ever being intrusive. The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which were excellent, especially with the flavorful sauce that really made the dish shine. We came to Broken Yoke on a business trip from New Hampshire. Sam was our server the first day, what a polite individual. We had such great service and food, we came back the next day. Sam set the service bar really high, so when we didn't see her the next day, we were unsure if we would have the same experience. Next day we had Brittany. What a pleasant, sweet lady. So pleasant, we ordered our Uber to come back the third day! Food was above and beyond for what we were expecting. And Brittany remembered our drink order from the day prior. Today was my first visit. I have been so anxious to try this place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The decor was very cute. I ordered classic eggs Benedict, which is my absolute favorite breakfast item. It was just okay. The Canadian bacon was so smoky tasting, it really overpowered the dish and the hollandaise a bit bland. It tasted more like béarnaise sauce and lacked that lemon essence the sauce is known for. I will give this place another try, but won't order the eggs Benedict again. I was surrounded by other tables whose French toast looked absolutely divine and the omelets looked good. read more

My first time here and the experience was Awesome! The food was delicious and the service was fast. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, answering any questions we had and offering suggestions. The restaurant takes the extra steps for people to feel safe while dining in. When you walk in and walk around, they request that you have your mask on. For the booths that are located inside, the set up give people extra social distance. We had the unfortunate experience of trying to dine at this location, and I must say it was the worst I've encountered. After being seated, we waited for 10 minutes without any waitstaff attending to us. Despite asking several staff members for assistance, we were repeatedly informed that it wasn't their section. To make matters worse, the couple sitting in the booth in front of us ended up leaving due to the lack of service. As a Broken Yolk Club member, I expected much better. Eggs Benedict at The Broke Yolk Cafe is a must-try! The hollandaise sauce is creamy and flavorful, and the poached eggs are cooked to perfection. Every time I visit the Broken Yolk, I think I know what I'm going to want to eat. Then, they hand me the menu and- oops! I want everything. Such good food here, I dream of their cinnamon roll pancakes!! Their service is amazing! I always love the servers I get, last time I went, Brittany was a dream! 04/26/2021 The Staff were all polite and courteous. Brittany and Alyssa, ROCK !!! The Service was prompt. I chose to sit outside and The Ambience included background music from the 1970's-1980's, which had me singing while other patrons and Brittany were cracking-up. The Food was outstanding. The Broken Yoke is one of my happy places, and i think this is my new favorite location - don't know how i missed it before, we shop nearby fairly often. The huge windows make it bright and the open plan makes it very comfortable. Brittany arranged to get my Ranchero Skillet with rice instead of potatoes, and the Serrano chilis really make that dish great. I drink a rediculous amount of ice tea, and she always kept my glass full. Great food and excellent service - i will be back! read more

Diane was our server, she was phenomenal! Right off the bat she made us feel welcome and at home. The restaurant was clean and the service pace was top notch. We ordered the American Breakfast with a blueberry muffin and an orange juice, Ranchero Skillet, and the Churro French Toast.
