We came here searching for a new breakfast/ brunch spot and we were not disappointed. The place was pretty busy with a lot of larger parties waiting for tables but we were able to be seated immediately. We tried the following items: Country Fried Steak $13 homemade CFS good sized tender portion with nice crunch. No hash browns here but the house potatoes were tasty. I tried the blueberry scone and that thing was the best scone ever! Stuffed with blueberries soft and served warm, simply divine. The only thing lacking for me was the flavor in the country gravy was a little bland. Shrimp Benedict $13 poached eggs shrimp avocado served on something soft, sorry can't remember what it was but definitely not a English muffin. My wife said this was excellent. Overall we really enjoyed our breakfast/brunch experience and we can't wait to come back for more SCONES, heck I don't even like scones but they were that good :) We got tired of the long lines and limited menu at 4 sisters so this is our new breakfast/brunch spot. read more

Well the past few times I had eaten at Brookfields Restaurant if you go on Sundays good luck getting good service . They usually have the best orange Juice ever! When I went to order OJ today the OJ was super watered down! When it usually has pulp and very thick which I love! This time it was so watered down with no pulp in it . I asked very politely if they can take it off my bill because they charge an arm and a leg for this usually great OJ. However what made be so mad was that my server didn't tell all her customers that the OJ was watered down . The customer next to my table said the OJ was bad and my waitress argued with her saying that it's ok if you put the watered down OJ in to make youre momosa . Our waitress was very backed up and she was stressed out so stressed out that she was taking out her stress on my order and the ladies table near mine. Not a friendly waitress. I know she was super busy with about 10 tables but she should not be putting her anger towards her customers. The food however was very good just not the service. read more

Typical diner style restaurant. Reminded me of Cracker Barrel. Food was average, fair size servings. Bacon was crisp, eggs cooked thoroughly. Unfortunately, I ordered the Homemade Corn Beef Hash. My wife and I have been going to this Brookfields for close to 15 years. The food for the most part has been above average. We realize that due to a variety of reasons the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have increased. That is not the reason behind this review. Today we stopped for breakfast and could not believe how loud the thrashing of dirty dishes and silverware was. The noise drowned out the normal restaurant chatter. Four Sisters was closed on New Year's Day, so we found Brookfields on Yelp as an alternative. Their list of "made from scratch" foods was impressive, so we decided to try them out. We ordered a boysenberry scone, brioche French toast, skillet nachos, chicken enchiladas, and onion rings. The scone was very good, although toward the end became too sweet. It has a sugary glaze on it which probably put it over the top in terms of sweetness. The onion rings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The nachos and enchiladas were pretty good, although they weren't as flavorful as the Mexican food we are used to. They brought their house-made salsa and also had many sauces available, including Cholula. Service was excellent--friendly and helpful. This is one of those rare places where other servers will (voluntarily) help out tables that are not their own. A busy server even stopped to say goodbye when we were leaving. A tip: sign up for the online payment service Zapper (info will be printed on the check) to save $7 on your first payment. I had the Chile Verde omelet. The eggs were the prefect American style omelet, cooked through but still soft and fluffy. The pork was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the omelet. The potatoes were not my style. I prefer fried potatoes and these were essentially baked potatoes smashed into a rectangle and slightly grilled. They were fine just not my style. The wife seemed to enjoy them. The muffin was very small but tasted good. The wife got the pancake stack. She really enjoyed the pancakes. The bacon strips were huge and looked cooked properly. The child got a children's meal of dollar pancakes. She loved it. We shared a strawberry shake. What can I say, real ice cream, tasted great, came with the extra amount of shake in mixing container that couldn't be filled in the glass. The prices were reasonable. For some odd reason, I don't consider this place as an option as often as I should. I really don't know why. It's like an old reliable friend you take for granted or something. They're always there for you while you look over their shoulder at the new person on the block and wonder what they've got going on. I ended up here tonight because I was going to meet a friend at In-N-Out next door. As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw In-N-Out's parking lot was packed... thought "eff this'... hit redial on the phone and called an audible - "negative on the In-N-Out, but keep coming same direction - Brookfields, next door". And just like that, my future was changed from a three-item menu (good, don't get me wrong) in a crowded environment to a peaceful existence in a relaxing booth and a comprehensive menu covering much more territory. I had the sesame encrusted seared ahi, which was great! It came on a bed of rice, which I didn't eat a whole lot of (because I usually don't)... and a nice selection of veggies. Good stuff. The texture seemed old like it was just microwaved because the batter was soggy and not even sticking to the meat. It was really bland, I don't even know if they even seasoned it with anything. Wonderful food as always. First time trying this location and it did not disappoint. The staff are incredibly kind and gracious. While sitting there enjoying my meal, I heard two different employees get unnecessarily scolded by other customers over trivial matters. Both times, their staff responded positively without a grudge. They work hard to keep the restaurant clean and have a variety of menu options ranging from breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is served at all hours (I think). I love that garlic fries are an option that come with sandwiches and it's topped off with real garlic chunks, yum! My husband loves this place. He would come here regularly (if he had the money for it) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is one of his favorite places to eat; I'm just like okay, good for him. But the one thing I LOVE about Brookfield's is the customer service. Every waitress, waiter, and hostess we have come across has been very kind, personable, friendly and warm. Right off the freeway...but confusing to get to. Don't miss the exit if you are heading east. Anyway, we were the standard evil customers asking questions at every turn and the staff was helpful and more than willing to give answers or at least get the answers from someone who knows. I ordered strangely because we hadn't had breakfast, yet it was already the afternoon. So I ordered the soup and salad. $7 and then the lighter fare omelet. I should have passed on the omelet. It wasn't that great and it's price point wasn't that good either. But the soup and salad were reasonably priced and the chicken tortilla soup was REALLY good. Good enough to hit this place in the future trips over the hill to Sacramento. The restaurants atmosphere was nice and standard chain feel with lots of woods and booths. If you are gluten free.
