Went here just to grab a quick bite to eat. I was disappointed by the wait staff. They were to preoccupied to be accommodating to the guests in the restaurant. After I received my Luke warm soup and cold sandwich that was suppose to be hot, I never saw my waiter again. To get my bill I had to ask another staff member to get my bill. My bill was dropped off on my table and I was informed I could pay upfront. I have been to this establishment many times and the service just keeps getting worse, I will not be returning. Need to update this review because things have changed. Went here with friends for dinner. Had the most delicious turkey dinner with a huge portion. The food came out popping hot. Not to mention they let service dogs in there and even bring them water to the table. We had the greatest most accommodating dinning experience. Will definitely return now:) read more

This seems to be a hot spot with the locals, but I don't understand the appeal. Food tasted similar to what you would get from a breakfast TV dinner and the potatoes were almost raw. If you're stopping through looking for breakfast, go somewhere else. read more

Nothing's changed and in fact, the service and specifically food quality has regressed further. This location's quality trajectory has been in a downward spiral for some time. Being former weekly patrons we stopped coming because the food and service was so poor. This evening our food was not prepared correctly again. Undercooked food is no problem is addressed, however our server has been MIA for 28 minutes. Would really like to have our food issues corrected. Have been to Brookfields more than a few times in past few months and wanted to give "5" Stars for the service that we have received from "DYLAN ". He has served us twice. What a polite young man and Excellent server. The Captains platter with the jumbo prawn and also the French fries were delicious. The Turkey Dinner also delicious . Iced Tea is the best. Too bad they don't offer bigger to go cups. (If you want BIG to go cups head to Granite Rock Cafe they are huge) Tried the pumpkin pie for dessert didn't really care for that. We hit Brookfields right at the right time because literally no wait but soon after on this busy Sunday the wait was 45-60 minute wait. Our waitress was really great as well and made our daughter feel special b ringing out a brownie sundae for all friends to enjoy together and we got the restaurant involved to sing Happy Birthday. I went to eat lunch with a friend today. I had the most delicious Fish and Chips, melt in your mouth fish. So tasty, and fresh fish. Lots of fries, and coleslaw with cabbage,and carrots. My friend had roast beef dip sandwhich cooked exactly as ordered. A friend referred us. Our waitress Courtney, was excellent, she offered suggestions also. Today I had the most flavorful French Dip Sandwich that was served by the most pleasant, caring, helpful server I ever remember having the pleasure meeting. I ordered the FrenchDip and she recommended several additions to step it up a little. I have eaten at Brookfield's on Taylor Rd. many times and the French Dip has been one of my favorites, but nothing compared to the additions of pepper jack, mushrooms and grilled onions. I didn't really need the au jus for dipping because the sandwich was so moist and the beef was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The addition of creamed horseradish to the mix was icing on the "cake", so to speak. "Server" Shannon just seemed to know the exact right things to say and made me feel like I was the only one she was serving, although she had several tables and I noticed that she treated every one at those tables with the same care. Thank you, Shannon and thank you Brookfield's for knowing that it is important to have attentive, caring people. I also want to mention the gentleman who was hosting at the time. The very first thing he asked me was, "Would you like a booth?" Not, "Just one?" That means a lot to those of us who don't like to be reminded that we are alone. We have enjoyed Brookfields for several years as it's a great family establishment. During our visit we encountered Patty the general manager . We had asked for a pencil , crayon or pen for one of the kids as they were drawing in their notebooks while waiting and we needed a extra. We were declined quite rudely. While five or six pencils /pens laid on the counter. It's not the fact she said no as possibly they have a policy. It's the mere delivery and rudeness. Our waitress, ARI was so busy but so accommodating to us and our elderly friends; even let us sit there for over two hours, never making us feel that we were taking up too much time and space.. We had an excellent sautéed artichoke heart and mushroom melange in a pita. My husband had a huge chicken club on ciabatta roll, bacon crispy as ordered. The thinnest slice of meat loaf; a couple drops of gravy, a teeny tiny spoonful of stuffing, and a pathetic wilted few pieces of veg. An $8 meal for $15.99 plus $3.99 (single) glass of tea. Been going here 2-3 times a week without fail and I have folks with me and I always tip 20%. Everything going downhill from shrinking portion size to quality (or lack thereof) of waitstaff. If you want better quality and quantity in food locally, eat at Original Mel's (Douglas Blvd) and Black Bear Diner (Stanford Ranch). We just love Brookfields. Family owned business that cares about quality and great customer service. I have been two times recently and am just blown away by the consistently great quality of food, excellent service and good prices. And the ambiance of the place is so comfortable. Seems that their clientele is a lot of regular customers. I just feel comfortable going there whether it is coming from work, or being very casual. The first time we were there we sat next to a couple who were regulars because I had heard them say so. She ordered the chicken pot pie and told her waitress she wanted to let the cooks know it just didn't taste right and they should check why. She did not want any other food to substitute because she had a salad already. The manager came over to acknowlege her concern and insisted on refunding her the cost of the pot pie even though the lady said it was fine they didn't have to. I was impressed! Another thing that impressed me was when I ordered the French dip... they asked me how I wanted my meat cooked ! ? ! ? What? You will always see cute old couples that have been married for 50+ years starring into each others eyes! The staff is always friendly and courteous! Stopped two Fridays ago for takeout. It was a Friday so I figured I couldn't go wrong with the Captains Platter ($16.99) which consisted of beer battered fish and prawns. I placed my order and waited for it in the lobby. It was ready in 10 minutes and was handed to me by the host. I should have known what was in store for me when I was walking to my car and could smell a strong fishy odor. I had previously visited the Brookfield's in Rancho Cordova many many times and loved their service and food. Spot on delicious over many years. I tried this specific Brookfields in Roseville a while back and wasn't thrilled with the food; however, I'm always willing to try something twice. I arrived home and tried the fish first. The batter was foamy beyond description. It was as if it was pure foam and cornstarch. Absolutely NO flavor or body to it. It was like a light styrofoam but without substance. The same batter was on the shrimp. Both the shrimp and fish were beyond over cooked. I cut into a shrimp that I couldn't get my teeth through and it smelled rotten, and was the obvious culprit for the smell protruding from my carry out bag. All the shrimp smelled bad. My second entree, a Ruben sandwich, was better but far below the average Ruben sandwich. Dry bread and under dressed. Needless to say, there won't be a third visit here and I wasted almost $40 hard earned dollars on horrific food. read more

All made with fresh ingredients and prepared well. Their beef is of especially high quality. Another nice thing about Brookfield's is the servers are always friendly and attentive. I've been to all three of their locations and every employee I come into contact with is always friendly. Parking at this location is also a plus. There is plenty, even during busy times. Lastly, make sure not to dismiss the value menu. The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are still very generous considering the price. For my mom the value menu is a perfect option.
