The lone waitress during my first day, but she was very friendly to all, even though she was rushing around.

Went to the Brunswick Diner at the recommendation of the motel manager, and he was spot on! A true gem of a local breakfast place. Sat at the counter, because there were crowds on most days. Space is a bit cramped, but the diner was very cute. On the first day, there was only one pretty waitress working. She seemed a little frazzled but still very friendly to both regulars and new, like me. Food was very good and filling. Got a typical breakfast plate on the first day, of eyes, hash browns, and toast. Second day, I had Egg Benedict , and the ham was a good half inch thick! Going again today! Day#3 Update: The beautiful manager/owner recognized me, having come in 3 days in a row! I really like this place! This time, I had the Tutti Frutti waffles, with sausage links and eggs over easy on the side. Finished everything! Will definitely stop in again, if I'm in the area!

This place is special! We visit often, and the food and service are always awesome. True friendly neighborhood diner vibe that makes everyone feel like family. The food is truly at a high level. The prices are a bit above standard, but well worth the cost.

What a fun place! Quaint old school diner with decent food and friendly staff. We enjoyed our food. If you're claustrophobic you'll want to use the outside seating. It is unbelievably tight in there. We pretty much had to get up close and personal with the folks at the counter just to get to and from our booth.

Got seated for a table of 3 right away on a Friday for lunch by the kind host. They have large windows that open and allow lots of fresh air in. We were feeling pretty full from a weekend of eating so we shared all of our dishes. I got their Bowdoin bowl with a side of gravy. The tots were crispy and so all the veggies on top were perfect for it. The biggest improvement could have been the "poached" egg that was really overcooked in a cupcake tin. Miss B's was a good amount of food and prepared well. The side of avocado was a store-bought more watery version than I am used to seeing. The Demi salad was very simple and plain. The cornbeef hash was seasoned well but could have benefited from more of a char. Overall, this is a good classic diner vibe that I imagine has not changed much over multiple decades. Staff were super friendly and as efficient as they could be given the tight quarters. Would come again.

Our family was in the area on vacation. We love pancakes and these are the best we've had anywhere! With those tiny sweet Maine blueberries too. So good we went twice during our stay! It's an old school classic diner with a jukebox and diner classics with a twist. The owner is out front with customers and is a true delight. Great coffee too!We will definitely come back on our next visit!

What a great find! Usually, I don't go out to eat in an area I'm not familiar with without consulting Yelp. But on this occasion, we both decided to stop for breakfast at the first appealing-looking place we encountered on the way to our destination. The Brunswick Diner caught our eye--it's hard to miss--and in we pulled (after pulling a 'u-ey' because we missed the entrance to the parking lot initially). We were happy we did. After the fact I learned that Brunswick Diner has a solid 3.8-star rating on Yelp, and I'm not surprised.  This place has 'a look' -- a combination of old-school diner meets 50's soda fountain meets a classic Maine lobster pound. Not sure if that's what they were going for, but that's what I took away.  They have outdoor seating in the summer, which looks very inviting, and indoor seating (booths and a counter). We opted for the counter because there was no wait.  They were super busy when we were there this Sunday morning, but I bet that's usually the case. Despite being slammed, the staff--starting with the hostess who's stationed outside as you enter the outdoor seating area from the parking lot--was super friendly and pleasant, as well as attentive to our needs. She had the Miss B's--two eggs you like with bacon and home fries. There's nothing special about this dish--it's typical American breakfast fare--but it arrived exactly as she wanted it (eggs over easy, bacon not too crispy, home fries, and toast).  I had the Sinatra -- homemade beef brisket hash, two eggs as you like, home fries, and toast (I opted for the grilled homemade biscuit upgrade). My hash was delicious but a little bland, honestly. There were no onions, garlic, or potatoes in the hash that I could taste--just the meat. And it was ground a little too finely for my taste. Typically, a homemade hash is on the course side. (I'm NOT suggesting it wasn't homemade. I'm only saying I prefer the coarser grind and some add-ins that I've come to expect in a homemade hash.) All in all, we were pleased with our choice and would stop here again if we were ever in the area and were looking for breakfast or lunch.

classic eggs benny, and the bowdoin bowl!

AMAZING SERVICE EACH AND EVERY TIME!! i will never not suggest the Brunswick Diner to anyone who asks, because it's just so darn good!

Seriously, some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. A little bit spicy, and put over a griddled biscuit. Really good stuff.

Food did not get to us until 11:14, which is UNACCEPTABLE considering the items we got. Additionally, we had to sit in the hot heat while we waited, absolutely NO AIR CONDITIONING. After we waited all that time, I received the BLANDEST tomato soup I had ever been served. I'm not exaggerating. I understand this place is trying to be healthy or whatever, but even VEGANS USE MORE SPICES THAN THIS PLACE. My partner got the waffles, and they were OVERCOOKED. The only saving grace that this place has is the drinks, which came out in a reasonable fashion, and the pictures you can take. Skip the food, just order a drink if you really want to come here and take LOTR-themed pictures. I will not be coming back again. 1 star.

Let's start at the beginning- Just because the roll-down…read moredoor is closed doesn't mean the bagel shop is closed. That was my first error as I went by this place a handful of times. It's wasn't until I saw someone emerge from the double doors to the left of the roll-down that I realized that the business was open. Not that they need any help getting people inside (it was HOPPING) but a sandwich board outside perhaps would show that the business is open inside? I went in and immediately everyone was friendly and chipper. Ordering was simple enough but be prepared, they sell through some things, understandably as this place is very popular. I got an espresso and a toasted herb bagel with plain cream cheese. Ive been all over Bath, Brunswick, Rockland, and Camden and was convinced that the New Englander's palates were shot. Not a single business has served me a decent espresso. Not a single one until I stopped at Dutchman's. FINALLY a bright, clean shot that doesn't taste like someone put a cigar out in it. Everyone needs to take notes. THEN we get to the bagel....didn't think I was about to have the best bagel of my life, yet here I am. Light, toasted, slightly chewy but not heavy... jeez. Can we talk about the space? It's gorgeous. Airy, cool, industrial...but the people running it make it feel homey. We can talk about the restaurant they're putting in next door too but let's be realistic, if they use any of the blueprint they're currently operating off of, they're not going to have any issues (Omg the pizza oven!) The view alone will stop you in your tracks. I'm all in on Dutchman's. I bought the merch. I have a tee shirt and a beanie and the only reason I don't have a hoodie is because they were sold out in my size. What else is there to say... 10/10 No notes.

The space is very unique, a very comfortable, open place to enjoy some coffee and a bagel. The bagels were decent for the area, but not my favorite type of bagel (a little bready). I thought it was a little pricey for what I got, but with a line as long as it was, Dutchman's can justify the prices. I'm picky when it comes to bagels, so my rating is reflective of that. I am of the opinion that New York/New Jersey bagels are the pinnacle of the bagel world, and the further away from New York you get, the harder it is to find somewhere that gets close to meeting that standard. I'd still stop by if I'm in town again, as long as I get there before the big morning rush. Not sure it would be worth the 20+ person line.

Luckily, there were only about five people ahead of us, and the line moved quickly. The person taking our order immediately made us feel welcome. Even with a busy morning crowd, they took their time with everyone and treated each customer like they were the only one there. That kind of genuine friendliness is something you don't forget. The atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I've been to. Every wall has something different to look at, quirky artwork, funny signs, vintage pieces, random collectibles, a mannequin dressed in sunglasses and boots, even a life-size Tom Cruise hanging out on the patio. I found myself constantly looking around because there was something interesting in every direction. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve coffee station. You grab a mug from the wall instead of a paper cup. I picked one with a cool Abraham Lincoln wearing a backwards baseball cap while sipping coffee, which perfectly matched the café's fun personality. There were several coffee choices, and I ended up trying two. Refills are available for a small fee. For breakfast, I ordered one of their brioche breakfast sandwiches with the meat of the day, which was brisket. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. I also ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with jalapeño shmear. It comes sprinkled with Tajín but got mine on the side. While I usually enjoy Tajín, it was just a little much for me first thing in the morning, so next time I'd ask for it without. The jalapeño shmear itself was delicious. After eating, we took our coffee outside to enjoy the patio. The colorful mural covering the building, beautiful flower pots, and relaxed seating made it a great place to sit and slow down for a while. Dog Bar Jim isn't just a place to grab breakfast, it's one of those places with real personality. Great food, excellent coffee, genuinely kind service, and an atmosphere that's fun, creative, and impossible to forget. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, it's absolutely worth the stop.

Looking to have a nibble and a mocktail or cocktail with friends? The Abbey has it (and more). The vibe: relaxed, warm, mid-modern meets minimalism, gorgeous stained glass windows, lots of natural light pouring in, the most comfortable seats you've ever sat in at a high top, lots of wood and greenery, a playlist that makes you stop and lean in. It's a cozy place that makes you want to stay a while. The drinks: I tried an iced cardamom latte with oat milk and it was fantastic (if you've ever had the vanilla cardamom cold brew coffee from Trader Joe's, it was an elevated version of that). I've also had a couple cocktails - since they make their syrups in house when they run out, they run out and your drink might be unavailable... BUT the staff is exceptional at making alternate recommendations and even making totally off menu drinks entirely! The food: Several (clearly labeled) vegan options! We tried the muhammara (a housemade dip topped with spiced walnuts, chickpeas, and three half slices of toasted sourdough) and the hummus plate (housemade and topped with marinated chickpeas and a drizzle of olive oil, accompanied by six naan wedges). LOVE the quantity of both dips, but wish there was some other dipping vessel outside of (the sometimes stodgy) bread. A little heap of rainbow veggies would be amazing! While the muhammara was a bit more liquidy than I've had elsewhere, the hummus was thicker than I was expecting. Solid shareable options regardless! (Grab a seat, order at the counter, and they'll call your name when your drinks are ready so you can go grab them; if you've ordered food, they'll bring that to your table. It was confusing what the clean-up situation was, several of us just sort of walking back to the bar with our plates and cups.) Excited to return again!
