Surprisingly great seafood options here with all things Forrest Gump for a lively theme. I'm not the biggest fan of overly battered fried seafood so I opted for these two selections. I'm Stuffed Shrimp - Juicy shrimp with creamy crab stuffing and dressed with the lobster butter sauce. I thought it was delicious and the rice balances out the dish. I also appreciate the garlic bread on the side since it smelled so good throughout the restaurant. Jenny's Salmon and Shrimp - The salmon was very tender and flavorful! Shrimp was decent and both dishes were good with the broccoli and rice too. A little on the pricey side for smaller portions is my only complaint but I'm glad to try this restaurant finally. Any city I'm in if they have a Bubba Gumps it's a must stop!! I love the bus bench outside of all of them with Forrest's suitcase and box of chocolates along with his old Nike sneakers you can get a picture with. They have a great gift shop with all things Forrest Gump. If you've never been to one they have items from the movie nestled throughout the restaurant. They have a license plate sitting on the table that says Run Forrest Run meaning if it's turned to that the waitress doesn't need to stop. If it's flipped to Stop Forrest Stop the waitress will stop at your table. The appetizer we ordered was good. I liked the little popcorn shrimp and loved my fish and chips for my main course. This is a very touristy restaurant. Got seated right away when we walked in. Waiter came by in a timely manner and took our order. Started with garlic bread. Thought it was gonna be similar to garlic knots but was more like buttered loaf sliced in half. Nothing special about it. Ordered cup of gumbo and Makers Mark salmon. Thought the soup would come out first but it was served with meal as if it was a side. Gumbo was just ok. Probably wouldn't order again. The salmon was good and glad the glaze was on the side because it was so sweet. The rice was ok, wish it were pilaf instead of white rice. The broccoli was soft but one piece was a weird stringy bite, couldn't bite into it and tear a piece off. Just a tourist place and nice if you've seen the movie. It was a gift card to the restaurants owned by this company from my daughter for a Steak House of our choosing, so we threw caution to the wind (or however that saying goes) lol! We ended up here at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Being that the location is near Disneyland, you would think that the place would be packed. Well it wasn't, we got a table within ten minutes of arrival. It took waaaaaaay longer to get our order in because there was a table of 14 girls and lots of moms that beat my husband and I to ordering. We just couldn't make up our minds. :D The menu has everything and anything you want! I ended up ordering the bucket of seafood that I (myself) imagined came out like Joes crab shack or maybe boiling crab. It was a bit of a disappointment, no spice, no sazon! The dish was bland, flavorless, in need of lots of salt and pepper! Great yummy tasty shrimp that leaves you satisfied and content. The shrimp is perfect and the salmon was my favorite. I have been here a few times and have been very pleased with food and service. Here for a birthday and they sing , give an ice cream sandwich with sprinkles then on this day they challenged the bday person to eat half without hands before the end of song. I was in town and wanted to visit a touristy restaurant. What's more exciting than visiting Bubba Gump's Restaurant? We were excited that there was no line and was seated right away. Got suckered into buying adult drinks that included a tiki glass. It didn't have much liquor taste in it but being from Vegas, we come prepared and added our own shot to make it more 'adulty'. The food was okay, nothing really stood out. And price wise, it is definitely geared towards tourists. The service was ok. Went to this restaurant with my daughter on Friday 5/2 and the service was okay but the food for one didn't taste all that great. But to top it off my daughter ordered the shrimp and crab boil and almost at the end of her eating it as she was almost done she found a dead fly in her food! When we called the manager she was so nonchalant saying that it happens with them having the doors open but that she would comp the meal from my bill.
