It's a shame it took me this long to write an updated review on Bubba Gump, but better late than never! In the past few years, I've come here quite a few times for takeout orders and have consistently had super positive experiences! The staff is always very friendly and has always promptly taken our orders, given us our drinks right away so we could enjoy them while waiting, and even thrown in little extras like a free dessert to celebrate a special occasion. One time, they even upgraded our drink from a soda to an icee at no extra charge. I feel like the staff must be treated pretty well here, as I've noticed the same employees are still here from a few years ago. I believe the great customer service they deliver is a direct reflection of how the business is run and as a manager of people who values the importance of work culture, this makes me want to support them all the more! As a bonus, the food is pretty good and I love that BBQ ribs are an option on the kids' menu! read more

The best part about this place sadly is their music playlist. I don't understand the hype around Bubba Gump Shrimp. Although the theme is cool and relevant to Forrest Gump, the food quality lacks freshness and flavor. When you feel like you can cook better than what's made at a restaurant, that's usually not a good sign. I tried multiple items on the menu and wasn't impressed by anything at all - this includes the Crab & Shrimp Roll and Fish and Chips. At most, the fries and garlic bread were the top highlights of the menu but this is sad to say, as these are just sides. I didn't like how my Crab & Shrimp Roll lacked butter so I ended up wasting most of the bread part due to lack of flavor. The 1/2 lb of shrimp was not bad, but I much rather go to Boiling Crab for better freshness and flavor and a better seafood boil experience. I personally wouldn't come back. read more

Located the Garden Walk district this place was packed but we seated quickly. Our waitress was served us quickly with drinks and was very knowledgeable about the menu and what was fan favorites. The decor gives "travel trinkets" if you ever been to a bubba gump shrimp then you'll understand the ambiance i'm describing. The food was really good. This was our first time eating here at Bubba Gump's Shrimp and it was sadly just ok. The food was ok my bowl of clam chowder was very small / shallow bowl with only a cup quantity inside it and not much clams. My wife had the Chicken Pasta and it was skimpy on the amount of chicken. My big shrimp cocktail was awesome though and the best part of the meal. The entertainment was fun our server did a Forest Gump questionnaire. The ambience is nice 70's music and lots on the walls to look at. The prices are a bit steep and the portions were small. Read the reviews and was hoping for a better experience. Went there earlier today with a reservation. Waited about 30 minutes before we sat down. Our server, Lori, was very passive as I mentioned she may have over looked my daughter's strawberry lemonade. It started off Well as our drinks was brought to us quickly...and then it went down from there. Waited for her for about 20 minutes for her to come back to take our orders, only then did she bring my daughter's drink. She then, never spoke to me again. She would direct everything to my dad. Saw our drinks were low, but never offered to re-fill them. She also didn't apologize for forgetting the drink, instead her reply was..."we are busy." She even handed my dad the he bill, who wasn't gonna be paying for it. ..it was me that paid for it. If you're seated in her area, really would recommend to ask for another server. They gave an honest try with the gumbo. Clam chowder was better. The crab & shrimp sliders were good. One of my friends got the jambalaya & that was the one thing I didn't try. (Felt like my Creole Godmother in Louisiana might disapprove.) I think I liked everything but the fried food I got, a little too salty. But hush puppies always speak to my soul. This is the best Bubba Gump we've ever been to. You dont have to wait as long for your food as other places nearby. Everyone of course loves the look and feel inside. It does a great job capturing the movie feel! I love the fact that they all seem to know old menu items, and let you order it like its off a secret menu. We stopped in here for dinner on our first night in Anaheim on our mini-vacay. YES We got in and seated even though we were early for our reservation. Hubby said his chicken dinner was good - not the best he's had, but still would give it 4 stars. I ordered a small appetizer shrimp dish from a different menu. It was in a zippy, but delicious sauce. The garlic bread dipped in it was super delicious! The restaurant was clean. Waitstaff was nice. EH I feel like Bubba Gump's used to be a more entertaining dining experience. The pasta was pricey, about $21. The portion was okay. The sauce was better than I thought. The more I ate it though, the heavier and richer it got. The sauce was good but super rich, heavy and oily. I wish it had a veggie like asparagus, to help cut the sauce. The chicken was good though. My friend ordered the shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp and hush puppies. I liked the ambiance of the place. Finally are ate a a BGS, mainly because it was right next door to my hotel on my recent trip to Disneyland. I sat at the bar and had a few beers, and the gumbo and shrimp cocktail. The beers were local and solid, and ice cold. The food well that was a different matter all together. The shrimp in the cocktail were way overcooked and it was liking chewing on a rubber band, although the cocktail sauce was excellent. The gumbo was tasty but the sausage and shrimp used in it had been cooked down so much that they were just mush. Flavor wise however it was tasty. Service was great, the BT's here are very friendly and provided quick service. I visited the bar area several times throughout my stay, and always received good service. One tip however, if ordering a tall beer be sure to clarify with or without the souvenir glass. There is about a $5.00 price difference. I also ordered to go on my final night in town on a cold and rainy night. I ordered the jambalaya and a side of garlic bread. The bread was ok but I wish they would use a better quality bread, it was kind of like a giant hot dog bun, but it tasted good. The jambalaya was excellent, especially when I put some of their hot sauce on it. Very large portion with plenty of shrimp, which in this dish were perfectly cooked, as was the plentiful andouille sausage and chicken. Delicious dish. This isn't top end Cajun or creole cooking by any means, but it was ok, the jambalaya being excellent, so if you're staying in a hotel in Katella Ave while at DL, it's worth a stop in. read more

Bubba gump has always been a fav! I stop here for happy hour every now and then before a Disneyland visit. The bartenders are always so nice and attentive and fun! Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of Bubba Gump and used to go all the time when I lived close to the Monterey location, so I decided to give the Anaheim location a try. Pretty fun when you're so excited to come back, only to be ignored at the bar for almost 30 mins. It's supposed to be "happy hour" and not one person acknowledged me. A host walked by and sat a couple at the tables behind me, we made eye contact and he didn't say a word. I timed myself sitting there and at the 30 min mark, walked out and went to PF Changs. I purposely walked past the hostess stand when I walked out, but the two people standing there saw me and didn't say a word. lol I should've listened to my husband when he told me not to go to that location. Was in Anaheim for my one of my very best friend's bachelorettes, and on the day we were headed home, she really wanted to head here. I'm going to be so honest, I had no idea Bubba Gump Shrimp existed. Like I didn't know there were actual restaurants from the movie that existed. Learn something new every day! It was pretty empty for a Sunday afternoon and we were seated right away. Literally they have Forest Gump playing at all times there on the tvs, and there is soooo much memorbilia from the movie it's insane. They definitely do a great job to make you feel very immersed in the movie, which is pretty fun honestly. We all ordered the pina colada type of drink and it was DELIGHTFUL! Frozen blended goodness. It was very refreshing and very good. We also ordered shots, though I'm not totally sure what kind they were. They were alright! To eat, I hadddd to get the lobster roll. Lobster rolls are my freaking favorite. This one was served on brioche bun and with a side of fries. It was honestly quite good! I was so pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! Walking distance from the Anaheim convention center, Hilton Anaheim, & Marriott. We enjoyed the Seafood Hush Pups, Jenny's Salmon & Shrimp and Shrimper's Heaven. Their Arnold Palmers were perfect as well.
