Went to celebrate our friend's birthday. Also one friend hadn't been to Bubba before. I went through Open Table and specifically stated it was for a birthday celebration and noted her name as well. Nothing was said at all about her birthday. When we approached the host stand one was drinking her drink and they seemed a little irritated we were breaking up their conversation. It was not busy at all surprisingly for a Saturday evening. We were sat and it took a while to be greeted for our drink order. We did let our server know we were on our way to a show. Our food was out quickly. There was just a weird vibe in the place. My friend ordered a drink that allowed her to take a cup home as a souvenir. We were instructed to go to the gift shop. Nobody was there. We waited about 5min and still nobody. I went and asked for help. Then the poor girl couldn't find the right cup. At least our meal tasted great. I want to start off by saying the food was good here and my experience wasn't necessarily bad. It's clear this is obviously a very busy location with so many things near by, but with that being said there should be more attention to cleaning up the restrooms and what not. Upon arriving with my family , we went to the ladies room Sunday around 4:30pm and the bathroom with filthy. I'm talking about puddles of urine on the floor and feces on the floor in one restroom. That definitely isn't a good way to set the scene for someone first walking into the restaurant. It was off putting and made me feel like I wasn't going to have a nice time. Our server was nice, it was clear he was busy. The food took a while to come out but the dinner was good. I did order a beer that did not come and it was still on the check , I let the server know I didn't receive that drink and he was surprised but it's clear since they were so busy that some miscommunication was taking place. But my table enjoyed their dinner , I just think there's definitely some improvement that needs to take place in certain areas. read more

Not as good as I remember... I've been to other locations. And they are much better. This one is lacking. The food was not up to par. It was pretty disappointing overall. The Mac and cheese with shrimp was gross. It needed more sauce and more cheese. It didn't taste like Mac and cheese. Just dry noodles with shrimp and crustiness on top. It just was not good. The shrimp feast and seafood feast were both alright. But the seafood could have been better. It wasn't as tender as I would have liked. I didn't eat the fried fish filet. It didn't taste great. The fried shrimps were pretty decent. Clam chowder had a good flavor. But nothing to rave about. I've had better for sure. Like I said, other locations are better. This one not so much. Giving 2 stars due to our awesome server and help from the manager, but honestly the food deserves 0/5. Years ago, my mom and I fell in love with their bourbon street mahi mahi....we fell out of love completely due to our last visit. First, the fish was raw for both orders. Sent it back only to receive a sad over seasoned fish in a pool of oily-tomato mixture instead of the divine sauce that made this dish amazing. Let alone the lovely bird nest of perfectly fried onions which are now replaced by sadness. It was undoubtedly , one of the worst dishes we've ever had. Ordered a beer, and since they were out of that particular brand, the bartender just...ignored the order? Kept chatting with the 2 people at the bar though, while our poor waiter had to "bother" him to figure out what happened to my drink. We tried the clam chowder, which was ok, but honestly had too much butter (and the oyster crackers were stale). The manager and our server were very helpful in resolving the situation, and I appreciate them immensely....would name drop if I remembered their names :/ . Probably never going back unless they go back to their original recipes. Also hope they figure out what to do with the pigeons....having lunch on the patio with 20 birds surrounding you and taking off all at once was, only to return moments later, not exactly the restaurant ambiance we were looking for. read more

This is the Bubba Gumps right next to the Aquarium of the Pacific, we had an absolutely fantastic time - location, location, location. First off, if you stop by the retail store you're greeted by Jasmin, take some time to say hi, she's very welcoming. I don't know why, but I liked the theme of this place, and everyone greeting us made it felt like stepping into a friend's home. Our server, Caymen, was a gem and a manager's dream. She not only guided us through the menu but also checked in just at the right moments. The "Stop Forrest Stop" sign didn't stay flipped for long, thanks to the attentive staff who were always on top of things. We loved the clever communication system with the license plates--it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, I was surprised how good it was. My shrimp and crab rolls were a treat, and the Jambalaya my husband had was spot-on. The sampler platter was a hit at our table; although the chicken tenders were smaller than expected, they packed a punch in spice and flavor--definitely one of my favorites. The spinach and artichoke dip, however, was okay. I must also mention those addictive hush puppies--I could have eaten a basketful! Great service. Came here with a friend and two little ones for dinner on a Tuesday. They were able to accommodate my request to steam the broccoli so it was soft enough for my toddler to eat. The clam chowder and mac & cheese are pretty good. Was a bit disappointed that Bubba's far out dip was a bit too spicy for my kid to eat, probably due to the Monterey Jack cheese? We ordered calamari to start and it was okay, nothing amazing. I got the sampler and switched out the hush puppies for the fried pickles. The pickles were okay, the chips and dip weren't my favorite... the shrimp was eh... it all just lacked flavor and was a little off. My son got a cheeseburger and didn't even take more than one bite. I tried it and it was pretty bland. The women's bathroom was very small, I went in with my son and could barely turn around in the stall because it was so small. They also have decorative hot sauce walls around the place but only offer Tabasco which was kind of disappointing as some of the food could have used that extra zing.
