The outside of the restaurant smelled like rotting garbage, not like a restaurant that is preparing barbecue should. We killed 5 flies at our indoor table. The spicy chicken sandwich was 90% raw. The tri-tip did not taste barbecued (we are KCBS certified barbecue judges). I wanted to contact the owners first about the condition of their business because we were business owners and would have wanted to know about this kind of thing. I was so disappointed with the food and service. We were a party of 4. Our order was messed up and it was the servers mistake. She took my friends rib-eye and left her with the two sides. I actually sat there in disbelief as she explained that the special came with two sides so the ones she ordered were extra. When taking our order the server asked "which sides do you want?" Then she was going to charge us for her mistake. Basically my friend had a choice to take it the way it came or pay extra. The salmon I ordered was dry and I was told by two others in my party the baby backs weren't that great either. We made the best of our dinner but will not be back any time soon. Easy to order over the phone, was ready in 15 minutes, was supper excited to try when we got home. This literally was the worst bbq we have ever had. The brisket sandwiches were all fat and greasy with hardly any meat. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was so over fried and pounded so thin that I became hard as a rock..I could hardly bite through it, took one bite and I threw it away. This is the last time I come to this place, trust me they are rude. When I was ordering my food I asked about portion size if the $29.99 combo would be good for how many people? And the lady at the register was so rude and not helpful at all she even had an attitude when she answered and was somewhat sarcastic. No reason to go back if I am going to get attitude besides BBQ was just okay nothing to brag about. It's been awhile since I've had the opportunity to travel to a place that was recommended. I'm super excited that I was able to visit this restaurant today!!! I went to the counter. I ordered the combo plate with smoked brisket and smoked polish sausage with Cole slaw and Bubba's beans, washed it all down with a fountain iced tea. When my name was called - the feast was served on a platter! I tried the slaw first - it was good- not sweet and just the right amount of tang. The beans were nice and hot with a fresh taste of tomato chunks and a hint of ground beef. The beans had the right amount of kick to them!! The polish sausage was sliced thick enough to provide a good snap - the meat was mild. The brisket was smoky and Delicious! The sauce was served on the side for dipping- it was a bit on the sweet side. However, dipping the meat into the beans was just enough to put it all over the top!! I do recommend that if anyone is in the area and wants some good BBQ - then this is the place to go to!! I will be back again to try the chicken on my next visit. This place was terrible, everything was awful. The fries were cold and over seasoned loaded with salt. We ordered a chicken sandwich and they messed up my order three times! Nice, clean restaurant with good, friendly service but the food was just average at best. A co-worker ordered the rotisserie chicken plate, the chicken portion was just a small drumstick with a small thigh attached, she said it was under-seasoned and dry. I'd go back here in a heartbeat. I ordered the smoked brisket with fries, my husband had pulled pork and Chile beans. Our order was out in minutes. My fat sandwich was piled high with delicious smoked brisket, pickles. Onions and bbq sauce. I was surprised how the pickles complimented the sauce. Sweet and sour. The french fries were crunchy and very flavorful. Hot also. I loved the fact that you could eat in or out and they also have a semi enclosed patio. It's a great place for a family outing. read more

My husband and I had a weekend getaway in Paso Robles and ordered food to go from here for dinner. We saw a brochure in our airbnb and the menu looked pretty good. We ordered 2 combinations: 1) Ribs and tri tip and 2)Ribs and brisket. We picked it up within 10 minutes of ordering and the service was great. They staff was friendly and the food was ready to go. We were impressed with the atmosphere - it seemed like a great place to hang out and even had a fire pit. Unfortunately that's where the good part ends. We got back to our place and the first thing we noticed was that this place gave zero cares on presentation. We tried the baby back ribs and they were cold and hard - not fall off the bone, more like bite and pull hard to tear off the bone. The meat looked almost waxy - like plastic. We tried the tri tip and brisket and it was like they just threw it in a pot without any seasoning. It was like boiled meat. The sides weren't better. The Mac and Cheese looked like it had powdered cheese on it and the potato salad was tasteless. The Texas toast is regular toast you make on regular bread at home. The entire meal was just cold and flavorless. We were really disappointed. I wish i had read some reviews before going here. We were looking for a place for lunch on the way from Pinnacles National Park to Santa Barbara. Unfortunately we decided on Big Bubba's. The person at the register who takes orders is extremely unhelpful. A hint of a smile, or at least not sporting a look of disgust/boredom would help as would actually answering questions about the menu. My husband's pulled pork sandwich was not bad, nothing special, but not bad. However, my chicken, at $17.99, was terrible - way overpriced and not well prepared. I know costs have gone up enormously since the pandemic began, but the half chicken was really quite small, and it was dry. The accompanying 1/2 cup of coleslaw, which I chose as a side, was pretty tasteless. I stopped eating after one bite of each. I don't know if we will ever be in Paso Robles again but, if we are, we definitely will not be stopping at Big Bubbas. read more

Drove over for a family day (ate here about a year ago) since then we came in and place was empty. The music was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves talk at the table. They no longer have waitresses or waiters. You order from the front (like At McDonalds) we spent $100 for three sandwiches with side salads, and sodas. When our order was ready they no longer brought it to us (despite saying for here and sitting inside) we came up got our food that was in cheap to go packing. Our side salads were only lettuce and croutons. We were given a tiny 3/4 full of dressing when we came back up to ask for another we were informed by an older woman (manager) that any extra dressing even for our salad was $.25 plus tax. We politely let her know we just spent $100 and would like to have enough dressing to cover the salad. The worker became rude and acted like we were an inconvenience (despite it being her job) and couldn't care about customer service, being kind, or serving. Now. I know it may sound petty but when you go out to a restaurant spend $100 for a good family time and instead you get basic take out (similar to Albertsons deli same containers too) zero customer service, excessively loud music making your family time a disappointment. If you are looking for good food, good service, and quality time with loved ones at a decent price this is NOT the place for you. We let management know we will never be back and why and were told "ok later have a good night" zero craps given. read more

Like I have never done anything wrong to her and every time I go in she acts rude towards me but doesn't act rude to my boyfriend or his family. So happy we found this place. Having protein is a must when wine tasting and this place was just right. The portions where generous and full of lean meat hence the price. Fast and friendly service as well. It sucks to see bad reviews for not having many veggie options but this is a bbq place where their priority is quality meat. I needed to add a lot of sauce. The ribs looked good, but, it was hard to get the meet off the bone. Both over cooked. They have a sample of tangy tequila which was good.
