The waitlist is no joke here. I anticipated the long wait so we planned for an early dinner. Headed…read moreover around 5:45pm and the waitlist was empty. We told ourselves that we would monitor the waitlist on the drive. Started to drive/chat and randomly checked the waitlist to see 38 parties already joined. I swear it didn't feel like 10 minutes had even pass. We joined at 5:56pm and got seated just after 8pm. My friend and I did a lot during the two hours so I would recommend doing something in the meantime to dine here. Dinner was great here. Ordered the shaoxing wine drunken chicken pot and added additional veggies, wonton and mushroom. Salt and pepper corn is a must try. Lemon tea was so refreshing here. Servers come by for soup refills and they help clear the impurities of the soup. Great service overall. Although on the pricier side, this was still 5 stars overall.

We ordered chicken broth and it was rich and flavorful, ingredients were extremely fresh, and the quality of the meats and seafood really stood out. Every dish we ordered tasted amazing nothing disappointed!!! Since this is a Hong Kong style hot pot, the environment was super comfortable and truly felt like being in Hong Kong. The vibe with Cantonese songs playing in the background while we enjoyed our dinner, which made the whole experience even more authentic and relaxing. If you're craving hotpot in Toronto, Loon Fong Hotpot is a must try!!! I'll definitely be coming back again!!!

This location is open very late on many nights - 3am! Food (3.75/5) - very large selection of meats, seafood, veggies and other items to choose for your hot top. Some were good and some were pretty average. You can choose from 10 different soup bases - I went with the Signature House Special one. Asked for mild and tbh it was way too spicy for my tastebuds haha. They were very accommodating to switch it out for the Mushroom one for me. My favorite selections: - marinated beef - thicker and good flavour - squid - good size and quality - mussels - good size and taste Average selections: - shrimp - fatty beef - pork belly - chicken I really like the ability to create my own dipping sauces and came up with 3 blends with soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame bases. Need to probably try out a few mixes to get the right portions of each item. Had the Strawberry Taro soft serve waffle cone at end it was outstanding. Very refreshing and creamy. Service (4.25/5) - pretty attentive and helpful overall. Came by a few times for water refills and check-ins. Atmosphere (4/5) - well spaced out tables with single/double burners. Seemed clean and tidy overall. Overall (4/5) - its not a bad value if you are hungry and ideal for groups or couples. I would come back to try out more items. The late hours is pretty convenient too for that area.

Seating is fairly comfortable and the layout works well for groups. Overall, a solid place if you're going in with friends. They have the tables where everyone has their own grill for their own broth or the classic sharing broth setup. Service 4/5 Service was smooth this time around and we didn't feel rushed (there's 2h dining limit), which made the experience much better. Staff were attentive when needed and quick to clear plates. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night. Staff can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin. Not the absolute best hotpot you'll ever have, but definitely a reliable and enjoyable spot that's also open late Food 4/5 Went with the triple broth, which is always a good move if you want variety. The all-you-can-eat setup is solid with a self-serve station that has the appetizers, sauces, and dessert bar. Lots of options to mix and match, and everything comes out quickly.

The interior leans heavily into traditional Chinese decor, giving it a more immersive, themed feel than your typical hotpot place. They even have gowns you can choose from if you want to dress up a bit and lean into the experience, which adds a fun touch. Not something you see everywhere. Service 4/5 Service was smooth overall. Staff were attentive and things came out at a good pace. It hasn't been overly busy the times I've gone, so hard to say how it holds up during peak hours, but no issues from my visits so far. Food 3.5/5 Solid selection of hotpot ingredients, with enough variety to keep things interesting. Quality was consistent across the board. They also have a bamboo-style drink that stands out visually and fits the whole theme well. Nothing felt lacking, but also nothing that completely blew past expectations. One thing I did notice is it hasn't been packed during my visits, which either means I've been going at quieter times or there are aspects I haven't fully experienced yet during peak hours. Still, for the atmosphere, parking convenience, and overall quality, it's an easy spot to come back to.

There was a big triangle table that people sit side by side. And also table of 4 or table of 8. We have 3 people that be reserved a table of 4. They have lunch menu that we could have customized noodle soup or the personal Shabu Shabu. I had a coconut TomYum noodle soup with beef and shrimp. And my husband had a 2 meat shabu shabu with teriyaki base. The meat we chose beef and lamb. The teriyaki base came pretty quick. We started boiling the base and then we got the 2 bowls of meat, 1 bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of the noodles. The base was pretty sweet, but still good with all the ingredients. The dipping sauces were set on a central table that we made our own. I like sesame oil, sesame sauce, Shacha sauce with green onion and cilantro to mix them up. My coconut Tom Yum soup came a bit late. The meat was a good portion, the shrimp was 3 big pieces of tiger shrimp. And there was some veggies at the bottom with noodles. They were all in good portion, the only problem was the soup, it didn't seem to have coconut in it, the taste and the color looked like Tom Yum soup only. For lunch time, my Shabu Shabu was $16.xx+tax and my noodles soup was $9.80+tax. The price was pretty decent. I would like to come back and try other combinations.

I've had my fair share of hotpot across North America- mainly shabu (Japanese hotpot), with Kim Tao being my first Chinese hotpot experience- and it did NOT disappoint. For starters, this place is HUGE. They have enough space for small parties, larger parties, and even banquets. Surprisingly no wait despite some surrounding hotpot places having over a 3 hour wait. If you really wanted to be secure and reserve a table, you can do it via Google reservations or call them. The menu was surprisingly extensive- there are so many options to choose from and were appropriately portioned so that way you don't over order. Two meats I would personally avoid would be the ox tongue and beef shank as they were pretty tough and didn't taste the best but everything else was really good. My brother and I tried most items on the menu and our favorite proteins were salmon, shrimp balls, tripe, sliced chicken, and marinated beef. Get the mango sago!! It's the perfect palate cleanser and tastes like fresh mangoes. Phillip, our main server, did an awesome job. He was friendly, super helpful, and quick to turn around my brother and I's back to back orders (lol). All of the other staff who occasionally took care of our table also did a great job keeping us clean and well stocked. Despite being relatively busy, service was lightning fast. I will note though, that if you're the type of person who prefers to be sweet talked or indulge in conversation with your server from time to time, this is not the kind of place for that, lol. Nothing wrong with this at all but I'd describe their hospitality as "Hong Kong style" where it's rather sharp and direct which I actually really like. This place implements auto gratuity of 15% which is totally okay with us.

Each pot was for 3 people and each pot holds two soups. Service 4/5 Food 4/5 (I don't have a lot of experience with hotpot) Ambience 3.75/5 We had a great time eating and catching up. The pros are: AYCE The condiments were delivered to the room and set up on a separate table in our room The appetizers were also delivered and set up on a second separate table in our room Service was efficient and the servers often came around to top up the broths. Cons: The restaurant allows only one person to place all the food orders and refills. Our group problem solved this requirement but it made it a lot of work for one guest. Favourites: Fried sticky rice Fresh made fishballs Steamed stuffed egg plant Tons of veggie options Desserts Karaoke is available in the VIP room. The songs selection in English was limited with fewer new songs. Parking is available right outside restaurant in the plaza. The restaurant is open to 1:00am. This is a modest hotpot restaurant with modest decor.

Tables were nicely spaced, although loud, you can still talk and enjoy the pots - Service time was very attentive - and checked on you a reasonable amount of times to ensure you were having a positive dining experience. The white pepper chicken was AMAZING , and it felt like the chicken kept respawning inside the broth, because it felt like we never ran out of chicken (portion was very generous). The rice wasn't bad , I'm not a huge fan of claypot rice in general, however this one had good flavours and the crispy rice was just right, without tasting burnt. The broth is fragrant, peppery, and deeply comforting without being too spicy. It's one of those soups that warms you up from the inside out -- perfect for winter. We ordered the $65 large portion (good for 3-4 people) and were surprised by how generous it was. It includes two plates of chicken, and the serving size is very substantial. They also offer a smaller $52 option for two people and individual pots for solo diners. We added extra meat and vegetables, but it honestly wasn't needed. Portions are big and great for sharing. We even had leftovers to take home. Great value for the quality and portion size. Definitely a spot I would come back to for authentic Chinese comfort food.
