I had the gluten-free pancakes and was honestly shocked at how fluffy and delicious they were :) definitely did not feel gluten-free at all. The hibiscus Palmer was tasty but a bit sour at first but the bartender offered some simple syrup, which helped. I was eating solo and was able to grab a seat at the bar, which was a plus. I've been to Bubby's many times over the years, and it is such a neighborhood staple. On the weekends they don't take reservations for brunch and there will be a long line outside the place. The line may seem intimidating but it moves quickly, just make sure your whole party is present or you won't get seated. On weekend mornings the tables are packed and buzzing, but they are also open for dinner and serve up the same delicious breakfast food daily! It's a good place for families and there are a lot of kids around in the mornings. Some highlights are the biscuits, famous pancakes, fried chicken, and their spring omelette. All of their food is really well made American classic fare. They also have a mimosa flight with a great lavender mimosa. Their coffee cups are decorated with their signature bubbys print. We considered leaving but we had walked a long way to make it here so we decided to stick it out and wait our turn. We found the food to be okay but nothing out of this world. Located in Tribeca, the restaurant is spacious and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They don't do reservations and there's often a wait to get seated. I came on Sunday morning and waited in the "outdoor" line and it was able 20-25 minutes to get seated (and we were fortunate enough that there was room at the bar, so we were seated inside instead!). The service here was so nice and SUPER quick (after we ordered, it was about 5 minutes until our food came out). We got their famous pancake flight (for something sweet) and their eggs benedict with smoked salmon (for something savory). Both dishes were amazing. The pancake flight was a HUGE portion and came with three pancakes: a banana one, a nutella and berry one, and a berry compote one. Brunch at Bubby's lives up to all the hype! Finally made it to Bubby's in Tribeca for Easter Sunday brunch and to taste their award winning sourdough pancakes. Since I couldn't decide which toppings, I followed the lead of others dining nearby and ordered the Pancake Flight. This included blueberry compote, mixed berries and Nutella and Banana with walnuts. The sourdough pancakes arrived looking exactly as advertised and tasted just as delicious. Of the three, the mixed berries with Nutella was probably my favorite. Unfortunately, all of the breakfast reservations were already taken, but I was able to snag at 2pm rez for today (two weeks ago I believe, so book early!) Got there 30 mins early and they were able to seat us very quickly & there was no line My daughter got the breakfast pancake flight and I got the corned beef hash and we absolutely loved them! We also got the bacon mac&cheese and a side of pork sausage - both were great as well. I've heard some mixed things about the food but we had such an amazing experience. We rated everything 10/10 and that almost never happens haha! Portions were also very generous. Staff was also so nice and attentive! Oh and the bathrooms and photobooth are downstairs. My favorite pancake was the berries and my least favorite were the chocolate bananas pancakes. The pancakes were so huge, I couldn't even finish my plate. You don't even need syrup. The pancakes are flavorful on their own and with the whipped cream you are provided. The prices are a little steep but for a good breakfast/brunch, I would splurge again. The only thing I was disappointed with was the cold brew coffee just a little more bitter than I would've liked and didn't have anyway to really improve the taste. Ate here last week for brunch. We were a party of 2 with no reservation and it took us maybe 20ish minutes to be seated. They start the line inside, along both sides of the wall. The staff is really adamant about the line staying tight and came by instructing us to move up several times even when we were already pretty close. The closeness combined with the music (which was good!) meant I quite literally could not hear my partner speaking to me across the table. My partner got the "James Beard" pancakes they're most widely known for, along with a side of eggs. I got the sourdough pancakes with fried chicken. We tasted each other's pancakes but each preferred our own - the original pancakes were wayyyyy too thick and doughy for me and she said the sourdough were too tart for her. Though I loved the sourdough pancakes: thin, moist, and perfectly tangy - the real star of the meal was the fried chicken! To be honest, as a southern gal, qI didn't expect much out of it. They give you a nice portion, a drum, a thigh, a breast and a wing. It was perfectly fried (more of a chewy than a crunch) and the 24-hour brine really did its thing making the chicken juicy. I usually HATE chicken breasts but this one was so moist I couldn't leave it. Make sure to book pretty far in advance though, as reservations fill up FAST. I think I booked mine over a month prior and it was one of the last available. Restaurant has a nice cozy feel to it and is actually quite large. You can definitely roll in wearing your sweatpants! Thanksgiving dining time is 90 minutes, which was actually plenty of time since all the food is precooked, it comes out fast.
