Really delicious - went in off hours but pancakes were soo good. Line can get crazy so was nice to be in off hours. Service was very quick and pancakes were delicious. We ended up getting banana/nut pancakes and they were soo good. Really large portions so able to share but soo good. Has indoor/ outdoor seating. Overall great experience.
We waited about 30 minutes for a table outside, but it was totally worth it! There's lots of space inside too but it was a beautiful day so we opted for the outdoor line. Our waitress was super sweet, helpful, and didn't push us pace wise despite the long lines. Their cold brew was delicious! I got the biscuits and chili sausage gravy which was absolutely divine (the potatoes were so crispy and tasty too). My friend got the huevos rancheros and loved her meal. Lastly, we had to try the James beard famous pancakes and got a chocolate chip to split and it did not disappoint. I would definitely come back here to try other items on the menu!
This was one of my favorite places we ate while in New York City. So good in fact that when I got home I ordered a batch of their pancake mix to be delivered to my home. The food here was incredible, and if you don't eat the pancakes that's fine but prepare to live with that regret for the rest of your life. The restaraunt seems to always be busy, so I wouldn't say our service here was the best. But- the incredible food made up for it. Another fun thing about this restaurant is the vintage Photo Booth in the basement. Make sure to use it but be prepared to wait for your photo strip! Also- be sure to make a reservation!
Very cute exterior! We sat outside and on a weekday, there was available seating for walk-ins. I ordered the sourdough pancakes with mixed berries and nutella as a topping. The presentation was beautiful and the portion size quite fulfilling, I had to get a takeaway box. First bite is delicious, the sweetness of the nutella complements the tartness of the berries and pancakes. I do feel that as you continue eating them, the sourness becomes more apparent and somewhat challenging to get through. I'm interested in trying their other breakfast options or pancakes since the sourdough pancakes are ultimately not for me. I highly recommend the fries! They are thin and crispy!!
Came here with a group of friends on a Sunday around 2PM. There was a long line for both indoor and outdoor seating. They don't accept reservations, so there's no way around it, you just have to wait it out! Surprisingly enough, both lines moved fast. We waited in line for about ~15 minutes. Servers were quick and efficient. Food also came out very fast! If you are coming here for the pancakes, I highly recommend the pancake flight, comes with 3 different types of pancakes to taste. All were delicious. The omelet was also a decent size. We shared this amongst 3, and were satisfied. I'd come back again, to try their biscuits! If you're looking for a more chill place where you can drink and hang out for hours, this is not the place. Given the long wait, servers are fast and try to turn over the tables/place quick.
Came here for brunch on a busy Saturday morning with the lines out the door but we somehow, some way, ended up being seated pretty quickly as a group of six. This neighborhood staple, American flare, super popular brunch spot is all about cooking scratch made with a very homey feel. Their James Beard pancakes are a must. They're extra fluffy and filling, so sharing is highly encouraged. Be sure to order their flaky biscuits served with fresh butter and jam, you will thank me later. Also, their little coffee mugs are tbe CUTEST! We also ordered a little something savory and got the huevos rancheros (minus the eggs). Soooo flavorful and delicious! Loved this spot, the energy, the food and the great company we were with =) Also, we sat in the same area as The Devil Wears Prada, like what???
I don't know if I could love this place even more. The food is incredible...I'm still daydreaming about all that I had and can't wait to return. Their pancake flight: oh my goodness. YESSSS. Stick an IV in me of just this. Must get. Nice and fluffy, so fresh, 3 different flavors. Huevos rancheros: typically not my thing, but theirs was divine. I especially love their cilantro rice. So zippy in the best way. Fried chicken: it was nice, mostly juicy, but surprisingly bland to me. I wouldn't necessarily get this again. Deviled eggs: they're nice but not showstopping, so probably would try something else! Their service is also very quick and friendly, despite bustling with so many customers. Inside and outside seating. Both nice!
Great brunch spot and the food is always comforting! It's usually a less wait if you're a larger party. We've been multiple times now and we've waited no more than 5 minutes when we have larger parties of 6 or more. Wait times can get longer if you're a group of 2 or 3. Their fried chicken is some of the best I've had. The pancakes are always fluffy and very filling. I prefer the sourdough pancakes only because they're thinner and not as heavy. They have great fresh oj as well. The vibe inside is always fun and good energy in the mornings.
Lucked into a reservation here at 8am while in NYC for breakfast. We grabbed the subway and headed here, showing up about 7:35am. With them opening at 8am, we had a wait and I realized there was an area to wait for a table inside seating. So I stood in that area and in what felt like the blink of an eye-- there was a line behind us. At 8am we walked in and were sat quickly. I ordered a coffee (they didn't have apple juice) and the table came with water. I ordered the Bubby's breakfast which comes with eggs - I did scrambled with cheese - a slice of toast, home potatoes and bacon. This was a solid spread - and I really really liked the potatoes. We also shared the pancake flight which had banana and walnuts, Nutella with raspberry, and blueberry. These were very good as well. Overall it was good here - but I found myself unsure why it's such a busy place with a hard reservation. Would recommend and would come back.
Fun meal at downtown breakfast hot spot Bubby's. The line was 25 deep at 9:30 on a Monday. Fortunately they take reservations, which were honored to the minute. Seating is crowded. Tables are close and space is maximized to have as many tables as possible. Interior is old-time diner style with high ceilings, round lights and tables/chairs to match the era. Service is quick, if brusque. But hey, this is NYC. Time from order to service about 10 minutes. Tried the Abe Lincoln - a big plate with 2 eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage home fries and grits. It was everything it was supposed to be and more. Eggs cooked perfectly sunny-side up. Fluffy pancakes, crisp bacon and sausage. Crispy and well-seasoned potatoes. Definitely more than you should eat for breakfast but worth every calorie. Others around the table tried a flight of pancakes - several varieties and several toppings. The sourdough pancakes are really good - thin and tart. All in all a very good breakfast. Not sure I'd wait in line for an hour, so a reservation is a must. It is not inexpensive - $150 for 4 with no alcohol. My only disappointment was that there wasn't challah French toast and matzo brie. It is called Bubby's after all.
Bubby's is an excellent elevated brunch spot that serves brunch every day from 8am-4pm. I went for brunch on a Wednesday at 11am. There was a short line outside. We were a party of 2 and waited about 15 minutes before being seated inside, not long at all - though I was impressed that they had such a line on a weekday! I went with 1 friend, and we each got the Bubby's Breakfast with scrambled eggs, home fries and sourdough toast. I kept the bacon, and my friend substituted it with sausage. We also got the Pancake Flight to share - 3 James Beard pancakes with 3 kinds of fruity/sweet toppings. The Bubby's Breakfast was delicious! They've taken standard comfort food breakfast plate items and elevated them. The flavors are great and balanced. The James Beard pancakes are based off of a James Beard recipe. They are thick and fluffy, and the the cream and fruity toppings taste fresh. It's a pretty large dish, great for sharing! The restaurant was bustling but not noisy, and the service was friendly and efficient. It is clean and comfortable. It's nice but feels casual. They also have some outdoor seating. I have already recommended Bubby's to others, and I plan to return when I'm in town!
One of my fav brunch places in NYC! DO NOT get intimadated by lines outside because even on weekends the staff is pretty good at getting you tables. We have never waited more then a few mins- Totally worth it. Love everything on menu. Service is fast and their brunch options are fresh and best!

The hype is REAL with these pancakes! I saw every table around ours ordering the pancake flight, so my friend and I did the same and they did not disappoint. They are so thick yet soft and delicious. I also had the eggs benedict with the side salad and it was a yummy dish, the salad had this flavorful lemon vinaigrette that was so good. We walked in on a Monday a little past 8:20am and the inside was already packed. They told us it was a 15-20 minute wait but it only took about 3 mins to seat us at a table. Service is quick and the staff is polite and nice. After we left, there was a line to get in and the outside tables were all taken. But it's so worth it! Next time I come to NYC I would stop at Bubby's again for sure! read more
Soooooo goood. My server (Markelle-hope I spelled their name right) was so delightful and recommended the perfect dish. I wanted brunch and it was also my first time. So I had the Abraham Lincoln--DELICIOUS. I also can not believe they have a turkey pastrami Reuben! I will be back for that. Ngl the line looked very daunting and both the inside and outside tables were long but we only waited max 10min and got seated super fast for our group of two. There are more tables inside so that line went faster. We loved the atmosphere inside and it was fun and lively without it being too loud. The plates we ordered all were classic and tasted great. I also really liked my passionfruit lemonade it was true passionfruit flavor. The best part was the staff; they all were positive and accommodating. We were taken care of very well and never felt like we were waiting. We would come back for a weekend brunch next time for sure! read more
Wait on a Saturday morning around 9.30 am was around 10 minutes. We were seated outdoors. Service is quick. I ordered the fall omelette and husband got the fried chicken and pancakes. I also got the lavender blueberry mimosa which was nice. Decent breakfast and good spot outdoors to people watch. read more
This was a perfect spot for a quick bite and the drinks were great! The waitress was also very accommodating and attentive. We had small bites of chicken wings and loaded salsa chips which were really fresh. Would def come back! read more
I can't think of anything bad to say about this place, Bubby's is awesome! Long lines out the door, that will give you a clue onto what you are about to experience. While we're on that topic, the comments are true when it comes to chaotic. It's wild in there. Filled with laughter and chattering roars all across the place. People have come to live life to the fullest here at Bubby's. You couldn't hear a complaint even if it was on a loud phone. It's wild in here. But I like it! Thankfully I didn't have to wait that long since we were a party of 4 including my daughter. We were seated with in 2 minutes. Then again I noticed there were tons of party of 2s waiting so it was nice to get in quick. At first she mentioned no strollers inside since it is a very tight fit, but once the hostess realized my stroller folds (shoutout to Doona) she said not a problem that can come with us. Which if anyone knows that stroller is not cheap, sorry there's not a chance in hell I'm leaving that thing outside. Once we were seated with the high chair for my baby, it was time to scope out that menu. Right off the bat I already knew what I wanted, so once everyone figured everything out it was time to order. Fried chicken and pancakes, with a side of biscuits, pancake flight to share, Bubby's breakfast, and last the biscuits and hatch chili sausage gravy. Yeah that was a heap load of food but we managed to share! Also need to mention service here is outstanding. Did not feel rushed, was told we can take our time. Once we ordered the food, it all arrived within 15-20 minutes. They move quick here. So bravo! Chicken and pancakes so good. The chicken was so fresh, you could taste how clean it was. The pancakes were all amazing. A bit on the thicker side, less "soft and fluffy" more in the dense scale. Almost like a gym mat. I'm talking about thick. But amazing. Loved them all. I ate 3 pancakes and asked for a recliner, it was time to rest. The hatch chili and sausage gravy was too good, lovely flavor. Biscuits one of kind! Always get a biscuit when you can from here. So tasty! Especially when it was slathered in that gravy! Amazing service, food was what you were expecting it to be top tier quality, and just the vibe itself was amazing. Visited on a Tuesday for brunch with a reservation and were seated immediately. Service was good; ambiance was cool, lively with cool music. Full bar. Food was okay for us but I think we ordered wrong. No one at our table ordered pancakes . Pie was delicious. Would visit again when in the neighborhood. read more
We've been hearing about Bubby's pancakes for a long time, so my friends and I finally decided to check it out for Sunday brunch. We ordered the pancakes, and they did not disappoint extremely fluffy and served in a very generous, almost humongous portion. They were honestly very, very good and easily shareable.The service was excellent throughout our visit, attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe was very relaxed and comfortable, perfect for a laid-back weekend brunch. Overall, Bubby's does a great job of taking simple comfort food and executing it really well. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving classic brunch done right. I was excited to try this place out as I have heard great things about it. Came here on a holiday weekend which is the way to go as it was not as crowded as it probably usually is on a normal weekend. I waited on line for an outdoor table as that seemed shorter. There are two lines outside one for inside and one for outside. I am glad we sat outside because I went inside to the rest room and it was a bit chaotic and loud in there. The lines outside too did get a bit confusing/ chaotic. I know this place is known for their pancakes. I had ordered them with strawberries and blueberries on top. To me they were a bit dry. I forgot to ask for butter. I put syrup on it too. I had a side of scrambled eggs ($11.00 for a side!) I also tried the Lavender Mimosa.. very very strong taste of lavender. And they have only reg hot coffee or cold brew no fancy coffee drinks. My friend had the Huevos rancheros and some Non alchi drink. Her meal looked very good. We had a good waitress that I was in awe of that she didn't need to write anything down and our order came out correctly. Especially, since I have food allergies. I would come back here for breakfast not brunch to beat the crowds and I would try maybe an egg dish. Or maybe their burgers one day. read more

A classic breakfast staple that lives up to the hype. There's usually a long line, so I made a reservation and went on a weekday morning -- we were seated immediately, though walk-ins seemed to have only a short wait. I ordered the pancake flight, which was delicious and generously portioned (definitely big enough to share). The ambiance is warm and cozy, service was quick and friendly, and I completely understand why people rave about the pancakes. Made a 10am reservation for Friday morning. We took the subway from Midtown to the Tribeca area, which was pretty straight forward & made it at 9:53am. Don't be surprised if you're waiting a bit past your reservation, as Bubby's is buzzing with business. I can't even image what this place looks like on the weekend. When it comes to the food, portions are plentiful so bring your appetite. Everything was fresh and hot upon arrival to our table, and well seasoned. I was most excited to try their pancakes as they looked so good in photos, and must say they surprised me. I guess they're famous for sour cream pancakes which I've never had, but have such a unique flavor. If they could only make them thinner & crispier around the edges for added texture then they'd easily become my favorite pancake/breakfast place to eat at. The only other critique I have is that the building is quite small, so seating is tight. If you have to use the restroom, certainly do that before you are brought to the table because it's quite difficult & awkward to maneuver between the spaces once seated. read more

The line was crazy long but we decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and helpful with recommendations. The food was fabulous! I had the shrimp, grits and collard greens. It was packed with flavor. I tasted my boyfriend's fried chicken and it was delicious. Must eat while in New York! read more

Went to NYC for the first time and ate Bubby's right when we landed. Genuinely the only 10/10 food place I would go back to everytime I'm at NYC! Service was fast. Line was long but was seated shortly after. Nice outdoor seating with a photobooth inside for $7 a strip. read more
Solid breakfast spot. Pretty standard stuff. Good location and friendly staff. Food came fast and coffee was good enough. I wouldn't rush over there, but if you are in the area you can't go wrong. The menu has something for everyone. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was literally ready in 2 minutes. There is efficient and then there is questionable. I'm not sure how I felt about getting food that quickly. The eggs Benedict was good. The side of fried potatoes was not. Clearly they make a big batch and then just scoop some on your plate. I can in Friday morning and it was easy getting a seat at the bar. I had the pancakes, side of bacon, and a mimosa. The pancakes were the best I've ever had to date and the bacon was crispy, service was friendly but could have been better given the number of patrons. I loved the pancakes and would definitely come back to try them again soon! read more

I came in here on a weekday evening and was able to be seated right away. Bubby's serves American comfort food and I found the interior to be pretty cozy. I felt like my server was friendly! Made reservations several weeks in advance to our trip. We were seated right away, now waiting at our 10am slot. They were very busy and took a while to get our drink orders and also for our drinks to come out (our food came out first before our coffee and I had to ask for my coffee again). I was enjoying my breakfast until I found a very long piece of black hair threaded into my breakfast potatoes and immediately lost my appetite. I let out waitress know and she apologized and asked if I wanted another plate, I said no. Had a few bites of the pancake flight but it really couldn't enjoy anything past that. They comp'd my meal but we got out of there as quickly as we could. read more

What a freaking VIBE. We were so lucky to get into Bubby's Tribeca -- it was popping and the wait was wild for more than a party of 2. The place was packed and full of energy, but somehow still felt warm and welcoming. I absolutely loved the environment -- super lively without being overwhelming and the people were just as great. From the staff to the other diners, everyone added to the fun vibe. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the Tribeca area. Also, I wonder if they sell their mugs? I should have asked. A classic brunch spot we go to, though I do think it's very average and not worth the long wait times. We usually get the biscuits and deviled eggs to share, I'm a fan of the eggs but find the biscuits quite dry. I've had many other things on the menu like the chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and always find that it's decent but nothing amazing. It is also on the pricier side, and it's quite cramped inside and there's always a wait! I'd go back for a casual brunch but wouldn't wait especially long for it. read more

I'm going to start off by saying the service is impeccable. I was server was so friendly and so accommodating. I really wish I remembered her name. This restaurant gets busy, but they do have a fast turnaround. We waited on the line for less than 20 minutes to sit indoors. The restaurant itself is crowded, but you do have enough space These pancakes are very heavy. They are not light and fluffy so in order is honestly good enough for two people. They weren't my favorite, but they are still good. The fried chicken was very good and seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised. Don't skip the biscuits! They are amazing! I recommend getting the mimosa flight as well and you're able to switch out flavors if you don't like a particular one read more

Everyone seemed super busy, but service was very fast. - Pancake flight: 9.5/10 (very good classic pancakes-- not too salty/buttery/oily like Chez Ma Tante. It was a little bit too doughy for me though and that's why I still prefer the pancakes I had in Clinton Street and other places) - Cobb salad: 10/10 (huge portion and very yummy. Came in around 10:30 AM on a Sunday morning and there was a line formed outside for a table. They don't do reservations on weekends, and once I got there, they promised it would be a 30 min wait for a table of 2. It ended up being only about 15 minutes for a table indoors, which turned out well! They have a lot of seating outdoors, but I think I'd only sit out there if they had heaters. Indoor seating is extremely cozy and close to others. Expect it to be pretty loud, and you'll definitely hear your neighbors' conversations, but it wasn't a terrible experience. The waiter comes quick, as well as the food. The pancake is thick and pairs well with the maple syrup. The sausage is sweet and the egg was cooked to my asking. For $33 after tax and tip, this dish (inclusive of one pancake, egg, and sausage) was extremely lacking. Nothing special about the taste whatsoever, and I've definitely had much better brunch elsewhere for much cheaper. I didn't do much research prior to my visit, but the menu didn't have anything super exciting for me to be attracted to, so I'm not sure what the hype is for this place. I'd like to see more unique items for the price point, but I don't think I'll come back. read more

I am not one who loves to wait in a long line at a restaurant, however, I decided that based upon the other reviews, I would wait for this one. I am so glad I did, it was a fantastic breakfast!! The pancakes were great, the grits were wonderful, and the biscuits were AMAZING!! The place is super cozy and has good vibes... the people who work there are very nice! I highly recommend you wait in that line too! read more
A lovely breakfast here. My favorite was the hash that we had. I can't remember what it was called. But our server recommended us everything that we got The pancakes are simple, but they are really tasty. Great to share. The eggs Benedict was OK, but I particularly love the hash on the side. I love the onions and whatever is in that concoction. Really bright and open area. Very popular. We waited in line for maybe 15 minutes and we thought we'd wait longer. read more
Bubby's is a cute little diner. You have to have your whole party there before you'll be seated. And they don't do reservations. They were able to accommodate a party of 4 for brunch pretty quickly. I ordered the James Beard Pancakes with chocolate chips. They were fluffy and decadent. They were really delicious. My husband had the sourdough pancakes with berry compote and Nutella, and they were great as well! We also tried some flaky biscuits with butter and jam. I really enjoyed my Arnold Palmer drink. I would definitely come back here. They sell pancake mix and cute merchandise. They also have a full bar. read more
On vacation and found this brunch place on Yelp. It seems to be popular on a Sunday so be prepared for a line and a wait. Reservations probably easier. Considering such we didn't wait too long. The seating is tight indoors but surprisingly not uncomfortable. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. Eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection, the biscuits are a must try with the homemade jam! Great coffee and the spicy margarita definitely has the kick to spice up your morning! We found Bubby's Tribeca on Yelp and decided to go for Brunch. There was a line out the door so we did have to wait a while for a table for 2 even with a reservation. Once we got inside, I can see why everyone was willing to wait. It was definitely a vibe with the music and decor inside. Shout out to the DJ or whoever was on the AUX. I ended up ordering the Fried Chicken and Pancakes with a Blood Orange Homemade Soda. I almost drunk it all of the Blood Orange Homemade Soda before I got a chance to eat my Chicken and Pancakes. The Fried Chicken and Pancakes was really good. The staff is super cool and provided great service even with it being packed inside. It was a bit pricey but I'm sure it's because of the celebrities that frequently come in to eat. Definitely will come back for more food and drinks. read more

Overall, I had a good experience at Bubby's -- it's been on my list for a while, and I was excited to finally try it. As a big pancake lover, I was drawn in by all the photos and videos I'd seen online. We started with the Deviled Eggs (7.5/10) and the Flaky Biscuits (9/10), which were a definite highlight. For my main, I went with the James Beard Pancakes (7/10), along with a side of blueberry compote that was delicious and definitely helped elevate the dish. In hindsight, I may have hyped the pancakes up a bit too much in my head -- they were good, but not quite what I was expecting. That said, I really appreciated that they serve 100% maple syrup, which is rare and a big plus compared to the artificial stuff many places use. I'd definitely return, but next time I'd focus more on the biscuits than the pancakes. read more
I went on a Saturday around noon and I knew I would have to wait in a decently long line before my friend and I would be seated. The bathrooms are located downstairs and there's 5 single stalls and a communal sink. There's also a Photo Booth which I think is the most random thing ever by the bathroom... We waited around 30 minutes in line and I feel like it moved pretty fast. Servers were constantly walking out to find groups of people that fit availability. We ordered: - cold brew - hot coffee - pancake flight: No walnuts and Nutella on the side because I'm allergic to tree nuts. The berries was my favorite, followed by banana, and the blueberry one was my least favorite - crab cake Benedict: my go to order at brunch is always an eggs Benedict or some kind of variation. I really liked this! We got home fries which came with sautéed onions and they were delicious. I was so impressed by how fast service was. I swear the food came out 5-7 minutes after we placed our order! It was super busy but very efficient. I would say this place is worth the hype and wait. read more

Found this spot on TikTok lol but it's overrated and overpriced for food that's mid. Pancakes were kinda cold lol butter would not melt on the pancake the blueberry compote was delicious not too sweet. Server was a bit attentive but when we had to wait in line they had two sides one for outside one for inside but the guy in patriots hat kept serving people out of order to sit bigger parties first before us, which I thought was kinda annoying I understand the food business because I work it but you don't really do that especially because we were skipped like 3 times lol. Wanted to stop for brunch- waited about 1 hour for a party of 4. We were there on Friday at 9am. Waited mostly outside. Pretty spacious inside and had bar seating as well. Tried the pancake platter- taste was pretty good. Fast service. Overall would recommend to make reservations to avoid waiting outside. read more

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon for brunch with some friends, and it did not disappoint! It was pretty busy, but we still got seated in about five minutes. The pancakes were super fluffy, and the traditional breakfast was also really solid. It is a little on the pricier side, but honestly everything was delicious, so it felt worth it. Going to go with no. It’s a crowded space with no outdoor seating.
Can I bring a stroller in?
I'm not entirely sure, but the space is big so I feel like they would be able to work with you and the stroller!
