We came for happy hour without a reservation and ended up waiting a little more than an hour. We got seated a little past happy hour but they still accommodated one round for us which was nice. The food was amazingggg, everything was seasoned perfectly. The pasta isn't something I would get again but everything else was very special. Came on a Saturday night in January to have one of my birthday dinners for the weekend. My friend made the reservations on open table and obviously he told them , we were celebrating a birthday. I met him there , we both took advantage of the valet parking and you should too. There was a wait but we ordered a drink while waiting. Place was super busy but the vibe is so good I didn't mind waiting. It gets even better than expected. The manager personally came over to our table and apologized more than once for the wait, told me happy birthday and brought me macaroons at the end of the night. This man was so charming I wanted to take him home with me. Just kidding but no seriously! He's the Gm there for a reason. I've never received such an experience from the manager of an establishment. I cannot wait to go back to buck and rider. We couldn't get a reservation for the one in Scottsdale so decided to come to this one. I was definitely caught off guard by the valet parking. I'm sure I made a fool of myself lol this was such a successful night. The happy hour everyday?!!! How cool is that? We ordered so many oysters, and other items like ceviche, temaki, and scallops. Incredible experience at the Camelback location. I'd rate it a 6/5 ... totally a great over all experience. Service was friendly, knew their food and drink menu super helpful. The ambiance is inviting with a modern feel. We came for happy hour and stayed for dinner... and barely made it back as we were so full. For starters (literally in my case) they have the best martinis (the Direct Martini) and it's going to be hard to top elsewhere. Their happy hour menu is generously priced and portioned for drinks and food. The J.T Broilers (not on happy hour) were a hit followed by the smoked trout and voodoo fried rice ... and that was just for starters. The pan crisp yellowtail snapper and the Diver Scallops were flavorful entrees. The lemon meringue pie closed out the meal along with a Kyoto sour. The manager made it a point to stop by the table to share a happy birthday and thank us for choosing them... and I noticed this personalized service was offered to other patrons celebrating events- which I think was the meringue on top of the pie... super cool and appreciated. They have a board where they acknowledge celebrations. What make an exceptional dining experience from a great one is the level of personalized customer service... it lets you know that the staff care about what they do and that management is vested. Food: I've been to Buckin Ryder many times and had the shrimp cocktail. But I went last night and I was highly disappointed at the size of the less than colossal size shrimp. They were still the same price so for that I have to dig them a star. Service: always on point everybody's beautiful and gives the best service. I've never been disappointed. Ambience: it's a vibe it's sexy. I love the patio. The misters are flowing in the summer so you don't have to skip a beat. It's solidly one of my favorite places to go to and for that I would get five stars, but the shrimp still a major disappointment. read more

I have been to Buck & Rider multiple times and to different locations and have always had the best experience. Have been here a few times when I've visited Scottsdale. Went Friday night and was so confused by the vibe. You will see literally everything - at one point I was like am I in a club? Food was mediocre at best. The only good things we had were the Brussels sprouts and the banana cream pie. Definitely a scene-y place more than anything. I visited and went to this location for happy hour with a friend and they were consistent, as usual. Perfect shrimp ceviche with an awesome portion size and love their happy hour cocktail options. I got the 40-love this time. We also got the voodoo rice which is again, a great size, and so good. It's a lower lit setting inside, mostly because the blinds were shut. We had a delicious early dinner here yesterday. We made reservations and I'm glad we did, even at 3pm they were very busy. We had a group of 6, a wonderful Pinot Gris was ordered, 3 bottles, it was just perfect with our seafood selections. Lobster, oysters, jumbo shrimp, scallops in shell, crab cakes, ceviche and Swordfish. All the food was absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection! Our server, Charles was always near by, just the right amount of attention was giving to our group, allowing us to have great conversation and dinner chatting. I felt the pricing was good and showed a solid value for expensive seafood, not cheap, but seemed fair. First impression, nice and clean restaurant, didn't smell fishy like some seafood theme restaurant. Made a reservation for 1130 am Sunday brunch for two. Vallet parking only, bring cash to tips the attendant. Great cocktail and food menu, could use better selections. Ordered a mixture of oysters and crudo to kick off the brunch, very satisfied with both. Decided to add crispy rice tuna, it was perfection. Our server brought us an extra drink on the house. Nice touch to already great service. My husband has reared a crab cake Benedict, the crab cake was delicious and not a bunch of fillers, all crab meats. I ordered a traditional Benedict, unfortunately it wasn't at all good, can't say anything good about it. My English muffins were hard as a rock to cut with a knife, the hollandaise sauce was so tangy and just did not work on the Canadian bacon and fresh spinach. I couldn't eat more than 2-3 bites. The server noticed and asked for a manager to check in, they took the Benedict off the bill. It was kind of them to, truly wonderful service here. For an egg Benedict fanatic! I know my hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs, this one missed the mark. Still, I would go back for the fresh seafood. read more

Perfect experience! We showed up for happy hour without a reservation, and were told there were about seven parties in front of us. In the mean time, we could hang out in the waiting area and a cocktail server would come around to take our order. This is such a great idea! We waited by the fire outside and drank our cocktails and soon we were called to the bar. We ordered oysters and cocktail shrimp off the happy hour menu and it was so delicious and fresh; the seafood is flown in daily. We tried several cocktails but my favorite was the Kyoto Sour, which is one of the best drinks I've ever had. Service was also excellent, our bartender was great.
