My wife and I went to lunch for our anniversary. I had very high expectations given their very high ratings and a glowing recommendation from our daughter. Our meal was an absolute grand slam. Truly amazing in all regards. We each had the 2 in 1 lunch menu for $17. I had the margarita flatbread and pork bowl and my wife had the lentil soup and veggie sandwich. All was great, but you must try their flatbread. Superb. Stefani was as sweet as could be, and provided great service. The manager checked on us and I mentioned it was our anniversary. She came back later with an anniversary card signed by everyone on their staff and comped us dessert. That's a first for us! She has been talking about this place, so I made time to take my family for dinner. The 5 of us sat & enjoyed sangria. That was wonderful. In TX to visit and this place has some yummy tapa dishes! I would give it 5 stars because service was amazing, Octopus and ceviche was soooooo goood, but the paella was only meh. I would still love to come back and try all the other tapas because the ones we got were that great. Hard to get good ceviche in the State but this one really balanced out the lemoniness (is that a word?) and saltiness perfectly. They serve it with plantain chips, which I usually don't love, but these were thin, crispy and so good with the ceviche. Went to Bulla for the first time yesterday night. Everything we got tasted great, and the service was excellent. Our server Michelle was excellent, and remembered that we were celebrating a birthday by giving us a thoughtful card and candle in our dessert. All the food was tasty, but my favorites were the dates, fried artichoke, and manchego cheese plate. The flavors came together wonderfully and were very cohesive. I've been to Bulla 3x now, but this most recent visit blew me away!! ALL BECAUSE OF MISS YANIRA! She was the star of our visit for her amazing service and personality! Our dinner was truly elevated by having her take care of us! We came on a Saturday around 4:30pm. There was no wait at all! The bar was crowded for HH, so we opted to sit at the patio. We started with some drinks and patatas bravas. I got their old fashioned, while my sister had blackberry lemonade. It was definitely what we needed on such a humid day! The patatas bravas is always on point. My sister and I decided on Paella Mixta, and it was delightful! It came out faster than we expected, and it was a good portion for 2 hungry gals! The seafood was cooked perfectly, and the flavoring was just right. For dessert, we had the cremoso de chocolate. IT WAS SO GOOD! I haven't had such a delightful dessert in a while. It was heaven! This is one of my favorite places to frequent whenever I'm in the mood for some tasty tapas and paella, without having to make the trek all the way towards downtown Dallas. This is a great spot to come for a date night, a girls dinner, or even just to indulge in a few drinks and bar bites during their happy hour. A few of my favorites when I come here are the patatas bravas, garlic shrimp, ham croquettes, albondigas, the seafood paella, ceviche, and their grilled octopus, just to name a few. The patatas bravas are a must for me each time I go. So delicious and perfect for sharing! their albondigas (meatballs) are also one of my faves because of how juicy and tender they are! The seafood paella is always a great one to order, especially with a larger group as it is perfect for sharing amongst 4-6 people. As you can see, you really can't go wrong with any of their dishes here! As for drinks, I usually will order the sangria or their bougie palmer. It's even better during happy hour when they have specials for both of these drinks! Overall, this remains one of my most frequented restaurants for so many different occasions as their food and drinks are consistently delicious and reasonably priced. read more

I checked out this place for the first time today. It was a great atmosphere and the patio was really nice. They have a lunch special that's a pick 2 for $15 and I got the patatas bravas and Pintxo platter. My colleague got the ham croquettes and Cuban sandwich. The chicken on the Pintxo platter was seasoned perfectly and it was a good texture. Everything was a pretty big serving for the lunch special. I'd definitely come back for happy hour. I want to try the paella too but it takes 30 minutes so I need to come not on lunch. Ela our server was very kind. My friend had her surprise him with the tapas choice in the pick 2 and she chose the croquettes. He wasn't disappointed at all! Bulla is a restaurant to share tapas mainly, of course they also offer individual dishes as well. Located in Legacy West with attentive staff, Ben was our waiter, very friendly. Honestly, I was a little disappointed with the food, I expected more from this beautiful restaurant. The tapas were average, the octopus was hard but the polenta that accompanied it was well made. The croquettes, shrimp al ajillo and Bulla eggs were tasty, but the rest was so-so. I'm sure they could make a better version of churros. I must said that everything looked very clean and they have a very nice patio. I will come back to try the paella. read more

From the mimosa tower to the paella to the tapas, brunch at Bulla Gastrobar is absolutely delicious. The mimosa is DIY. Pour your champagne, choose your juice (orange, passion fruit, cranberry), and then add your favorite fruits. It's an experience! The Paella Mixta has calamari, clams, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, soffrito, and saffron. It's super flavorful and they do not skimp on the ingredients! Ceviche de Jalapeño comes in a beautiful cup of shrimp, fish, roasted jalapeño, fresh lime & orange served with plantain chips. It's bursting with flavors and super refreshing. The Smoked Salmon Montaditos is served on bread with cream cheese and truffle honey. As a smoked salmon lover, the smoked salmon did not disappoint. Grilled Octopus comes with corn purée, which is sweet and provides a nice flavoring to the octopus. read more

When I was traveling to Dallas my friend bring me she's favorite restaurant. I loved this place. Food was quite great We ordered a lot of food for only 3 girls. I recommended Seafood jambalaya and octopus here. That's outstanding but anything's else was just ok for me. If you visiting this place you should try their sangria cocktail but a bit sweet. Best sangria cocktail ever!!! Usually I don't drink but this sangria was amazing. Must try Food serving was fast expected jambalaya. It take 30mins so if you wanna eat that trying to order first before you try appetizer. Our waiter was great but slow serving. When we called him but wait a bit time for he came to our table. I love this place interior. So pretty and modern and clean. Not too noisy so easy to talk with friend while eat. Highly recommend this place! If you are in the this area should give a shot. Our server was Amanda, and she was perfect! Super personable, attentive, and informative. Since it was my first time, she went through the menu and gave her recommendations. I went with two other people and we ordered 3 small plates, a paella, and a dessert. The paella takes a while to make, so Amanda recommended that we let her know in the beginning if we'd be interested in getting it so that they can prepare it while we eat the tapas. My favorite of the tapas was probably the brisket montaditos. They were so flavorful I could've eaten that whole plate myself. It was a bit pricey, but for the food and great service, it was worth it. This place is perfect for a nice dinner or date. Not seasoned, bathed in wolf brand chili Potato tortilla - very thick, not what we expected, was okay Server was sweet but did not bus the table properly. We had large empty sparkling water bottles at our table the whole meal. The restaurant is tapas which is great but they do not offer proper tools to be able to serve and share food. We had to as for extra forks and tongs so that we weren't using our hands or personal forks to grab from the shareable plates. The decor is very fun in this tapas restaurant. The service is good, and the menu has a nice variety. I was there at brunch and noticed their sangria pitchers looked amazing with loads of fresh fruit. I specifically enjoyed the shrimp on their menu and hope to return and try their paella on their dinner menu next time. We brought my parents here as they were celebrating their 24 year anniversary. Henry was our server and he was 10/10. We ordered a pitcher of sangria for my husband and I, a mojito for my dad and a water for my mom. I love tapas and have been to Bulla a few times both here and in Atlanta. I will say the other times I've been to both this location AND the Atlanta spot, I have nothing memorable to tell you but Henry took an already great experience and put a cherry on top. We had a chefs board ( my husband ordered the upgraded version with some special ham called paleta ibérica de Fermín ) , idiazabal cheese on its own, patatas bravas, chorizo stuffed dates, and we ordered a paella mixta. The chefs board featured cheeses: Tetilla, Manchego, ham: Serrano ham, Chorizo, walnuts, olives, and a crispy French bread. They also put some type of whipped membrillo paste for the little bread. Absolutely delicious and well worth the money! The patatas bravas have mayo and a soft spice mixture. The potatoes were soft. I will say the best ones we had in Spain were crispy potatoes but that's ok, these are great too lol. The chorizo stuffed dates are my absolute all time favorite. The first time I had these, they were the only reason I returned . Try them if you are a meat eater!!!!! The paella was a table favorite. I personally feel like it's not enough for 4 hungry adults but maybe 3. It was delicious and I'm not a huge seafood favorite but I would order that again without a second thought. To finish off the celebratory lunch we ordered a torrija. It was brioche dessert with some goat ice cream on top. It was a not-too-sweet delicious desert. Henry also brought out a signed card from the staff for my parents which they absolutely loved and my mom is going to upload a pic of it to Facebook. They also gave them a little cute dessert with some mint taste and a candle which was a nice touch. For all of the posted above we spent $200ish + tip which is about $50 per person. I would say 4.5, but this is still an amazing place to go. We came in for a lunch special for 3 to try their courses, which is $16 per person for one tapas and one entree. For starters, we got the salmon carpaccio, ham croquettes, and Margherita flatbread. I really liked the flatbread as it was fresh, cheesy, and had the aroma of the herbs and acidic tomatoes throughout. Really light and tasty! The ham croquettes were also good, creamy but not too heavy. The salmon carpaccio was alright, I think the fish was cut a bit too thinly so it breaks apart when you try to grab it. This one was the least favorite for me. For entrees, we got the paella of the day, truffle carbonara, and chicken pintxo. The paella was delicious and flavorful and fragrant, I enjoyed this dish. The truffle carbonara was also fantastic as the truffle flavor was prevalent throughout, the linguini was al dente, and the cream was delicious with bacon aroma! I also enjoyed the chicken pintxo, which had a nice lemongrass and char grill on it but was still moist. The rice that came with it was a bit tougher for my liking though, and was just plain rice with a side of salad. Wished this had a bit more as they only give you 2 skewers. Ambiance is a fine dining/upscale area but it is not so fancy that it is uncomfortable, which can serve great for dates, brunches, or girls nights out. Overall everything was delicious and service was great, Just bear in mind portions are a bit small, you will be full, but not full enough to feel heavy or stuffed. This was my first visit to Bulla and I LOVED it! The ambiance is spacious and welcoming, and everyone who I interacted with was notably friendly and attentive. I came here for a post-work happy hour with some girlfriends, and the experience did not disappoint! The food came as it was ready which I really liked as we always had enough room at the table for all of our dishes and could really savor and enjoy each tapa. It's nicely balanced with corn puree and topped with flavorful garnish like parsley. Since this place is located in the Renaissance Hotel, right in the heart of the Legacy West area, parking was a bit tight. When we arrived around 6 pm, it wasn't too crowded. The interior has a modern, artsy vibe, which was nice. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the tapas style of the restaurant, recommending we share a few appetizers before our main course, the steak paella. I don't remember all the appetizers, but they were decent. The only letdown was the octopus dish --the octopus meat were small and limited. However, the paella was excellent, packed with tons of flavor. Overall, this is a great spot for meetups and date nights. The tapas style is perfect for sharing and trying different dishes. I love Bulla! I have been a few times now after my girlfriend introduced me to it for a girls' night. It has a romantic atmosphere, especially at night. Dimly lit and beautiful. You can choose an appetizer and lunch sized entree for just $15, and for an additional $5, you can even add a dessert. Some foods that I've tried: salmon carpaccio (LOVED, very light and refreshing. I loved the tart flavor of the dill vinaigrette), ceviche (get it with the wonton strips, you're welcome), truffle carbonara (so indulgent and flavorful), ARROZ CALDOSO (definitely my favorite thing that I've tried so far). To be honest, the only dish I've had that didn't slap for me was the steak paella. Service-wise, has been inconsistent. For the most part, I've always been greeted very warmly. However, there are definitely servers who know the menu and have a happy demeanor and I've had a server who was maybe having a bad day. But the worst part was when we asked him a question, he didn't know the answer, but instead of checking he just said that he didn't know. We asked if he could find out, but he didn't awknowledge our question and just walked away. So, we took that as our cue that we shouldn't get dessert but rather get our checks and leave.
