This experience has to be the worst customer service. When the bartender came to the table, I ordered a virgin shirley temple and a mac and cheese with mushrooms. When the soda came, I noticed it just taste like soda water (No biggie at all). I just walked up to bar and mentioned, I thought sprite was out and ask, if I could switch to Dr Pepper. I didn't complain; I didn't ask for a discount, I just wanted to switch it. She said the box was empty and it needed to be changed. We ordered near the start of the show and as the show and as it ending (nearly 90 mins) I just popped by the bar and ask if she had ETA on food. I could tell this annoyed her. She said the kitchen was a bit behind and again, no big deal. The bartender did seem to have a lot on her plate. She started to get annoyed and this going to become very evident moving forward. I had four people in our group and we all ordered food and they were drinking as well. Everything was great except my pasta which was super dry and the mushrooms was missing. I tried everyone else's food it was great. I just mentioned to the waitress the pasta was really dry and tried to also mention the mushrooms. She interrupted me and said "what do you want me to do about it" really aggressive. I mentioned, I didn't care for this and she said ok and walked off before I could finish my sentence. I followed her to the bar and ask, if I can do fries instead. She said "you're not the only one here. Also, I was welcome to do her job, since I would be better". This really through me for a loop. I was being really nice. I didn't complain about our service. She kept making outrageous statements like "I wouldn't be happy unless she gets on her knees". Let me remind you, I haven't asked her for a discount and I wasn't complaining about the service. I just wanted to switch out the pasta. If anything, i was being overly polite, because I could see she was busy. I planned on just leaving it alone. However, this set my husbands cousin off. She didnt like how she was treating me. She attempted to talk to her and she went off on her as well. I ask my cosin in law to leave it alone. She apparently went to the restaurant portion and ask for the mangers details. It was surprising, because it turns out she is the manager. I wasn't looking for her to be overly apologetic. Honestly, I didn't i care if she was sorry at all..The only thing, I really expected was for her to understand the kitchen sometimes have issues and not freak out, if a customer ask to switch out a item. This isnt personal. It wasn't as if we were complaining about everyone's meal. I really think what set her off was the fact, I had the issue with the soda first. She kept saying over and over how she "can't make a soda and meal right for me". Honestly, I was flabbergasted, because who cares about a soda! I was perfectly nice to her and she had a total melt down. I wanted to stop it. I was embarrassed. Apparently, my cousin in law did get the owners number and left vm. I didn't know this until, I was walking out. Apparently the manager went to my husband and said "this is the first time someone has called my mommy on me". I want to be clear, I didn't call anyone. I didn't ask for a manager. I think it's important to realize even though she directed this rage at me, and yes it was embarrassing it effected everyone in our group. It also including the table beside us, who I heard asking the girl cleaning what was wrong with the bartender. They had to watch her melt down because she was screaming at times. It was just an odd experience, it wasn't as if she was matching my behavior. I also wasn't seeking any discounts. She didn't charge me for the soda and the fries never came. I still paid my husbands bar tab and we tipped her the rest of our tables food. I also left 5 dollars on the bar because, I didn't want the soda for free. I also made sure our group still tipped her on our main tab. I think people have bad nights. I just think it's completely uncalled for a manager to have this type of reaction and accuse the customer of demanding she get on her knees. She was screaming this. I wasn't asking her to do anything other than switch my pasta to frys. What was interesting is my cousins husband was talking to her she did admit the pasta was old and I got the last of it. They were making fresh. He was trying to tell her this wasn't a big deal. Then she directed more comments at me "I'm so sorry our kitchen mad your pasta dry, then repeated herself 4 more times. "I'm so sorry". It was the most sarcastic tone. If she knows the pasta is old why freak out when a customer doesn't care for it. I did eat some frys from other plates and they were fantastic. This pasta wasn't even 10% of our total money spent It wasn't like we were looking for something for free. What we wanted was decent service, food, and entertainment. Fair warning, you need to go here hungry because the food portions are big enough to feed a small village. You're guaranteed to leave with a full belly! This is the first establishment I've ever encountered that didn't serve coffee after breakfast. Penny smart but so very dollar foolish. They also seemed to be out of everything I wanted. This was my first time eating at Bumsted's. The atmosphere was nice, and not busy at all on a Wednesday at noon. The staff was friendly and I was greeted and seated quickly. I ordered the Ruben style sandwich (I now forgot what the call it). It came out and was a very large and over stuffed sandwich with lots of tots on the side. Only problem with it is that both the sandwich and the tots were super salty. And that's saying a lot coming from someone who really likes salt. Not sure if it was the meat or the dressing on the sandwich that made it so salty. On the toys they used course salt (sea salt maybe). It was too much salt. I'd recommend asking for it without salt and then salting it to your taste at the table. read more

First discovered this place during a 2023 stay at the adjacent hotel when that hotel used to include a coupon for a made-to-order breakfast at Bumsted's. Once I tried it, I kept coming back to this place in the mornings, so this review is for the breakfasts. Portions are large and prices are great. Coffee kept coming and all the employees were friendly with great customer service. I always sit at the counter and what I love most is that I can relax and wake up with the good food and coffee. Large portions etc. We stayed at the Best Western and came in for breakfast which was part of our stay. I didn't expect much for a free breakfast, but they had a very nice menu or a discount on their regular menu. I was prepared for a nice meal if a little slow. Unfortunately, my coffee came out with a bright pink lipstick stain. Knowing things can happen, I only planned to ask for a clean cup of coffee. We are from San Diego, we came in for karaoke at around 8:30pm, got a drink and put our card on tab. Karaoke was amazing. Bartenders were attentive and had a great singers. We were having a great time! At around 10pm, we told our bartender "We want to go smoke outside. Are we good to leave our drinks in here" Our bartender replied "of course! Have fun." We proceeded to step outside, walk around the block, and smoke. While walking back, the security guard told us he could not let us in because "he knew what we were doing and 'others' have complained" I said "I'm so sorry, we were trying to be respectful and I thought if we walked away, that that would be okay" That didn't work for him. I then asked if I could go inside so I could pay my tab and tip my bartender. He said 1 out of 2 of us could. ..after leaving, two costumers where directly outside of the door smoking cigarettes. I asked the security "if we were smoking cigarettes right outside of the door, it would of been okay? To which he replied "Yes." The establishment is wonderful, fun inside, great prices, great staff. Service and food was excellent! We came from Tanque Verde to try the food and was NOT disappointed! I had the burger with tots and my husband had a liverwurst sandwich. Getting liverwurst in a restaurant is rare in itself. The burger was cooked to perfection and the lettuce and tomato were VERY fresh. I'm sooooo flippin glad we received a gift card to this karaoke/bar! It's a separate restaurant all attached in case we wanted to just chill in a family environment or karaoke and have some drinks. As soon as I walked in the customer service was on point, the Kareoke Host/Security was on top of everything, though he ran the place for a sec because of how attentive he was. The waitresses was awesome as well. I had to change my baby and as soon as I asked where th bathroom was, they offered me a conference room were it was more private and safe (covid). I am extremely excited to say that we are big fans of wonderland (nightly kareoke sec of restaurant with separate doors and section away from the family restaurant side but all in the same building). This Is The Hidden Jewl that everyone looks for that ain't crammed or crazy, just relaxed, country/rock/alternative place to relax and enjoy a peaceful but fun environment! Once I found out they reopened, Thanks Yelp!, I was super excited! They had the same classic menu options listed plus a ton of new menu items! The menu is extensive and it is not hard to be a glutton for deliciousness. The restraunt has a classic diner feel and they now have a cocktail menu with tasty beverages. If you haven't been to this little restaurant/bar you have got to give it a try. It's the cutest little spot with amazing food. My husband is obsessed with the bat outta hell (meatloaf sandwich) all of their menu items have the cutest names. They have the most delicious cakes and that created in house. Today I had a "fruity drink" with fresh fruit that was infused with vodka, so so good and it was only 9$, such a good deal for the size. They even have comedy shows, karaoke and drag shows in the evenings. The service we receive is always amazing and we will definitely be coming again. YAY!!! Bumsted's is back!!! Always a go to spot when it was on the avenue and I am so glad that not much has changed. The menu is the same and the food is still enormous and delicious. I went in a couple weeks ago to enjoy their Sunday drag show brunch and it was awesome. Limited seating for the show so you need to reserve a table online but the staff was amazing and everyone was working hard to make sure to keep the customers happy but also seemed to be enjoying themselves too. Our server recommended the bloody mary and said it was the best she'd had, I agree that it was very good however it is spicy! But we ordered a beer to add to it and it was fine. We proceeded to try a variety of cocktails off their menu and everyone was pleased with all of them from mimosas to spritz's, palomas etc. we had fun. I am so happy that Bumsted's was able to reopen, they have been a Tucson staple for as long as I can remember and it felt weird while they were gone. I visited the new location on Sunday, and my experience was really great. I ordered my food to go so I wasn't able to fully experience the dining room, but it had the feel of a 50's diner and was very welcoming and modern. The attached bar also seemed great, however I did not get a chance to go in. I ordered the Movie Star, which is a vegetarian sandwich, and it was delicious, just like I remember. The sweet potato fries were a bit soggy and cold, but this can easily be attributed to the time it took me to drive home. Overall, happy with my experience. read more

It's a nice atmosphere with nice music in the back round. Not to loud or too low. The food was super good and huge portions. The food was hot and fresh. We had the Children chicken strip that were lightly breaded and not greasy. The regular and sweet fries are cut thinly and in between crunchy and soft. I had the 6* of Kevin Bacon. It's soooo huge!!!
