This place checks all the boxes. We ate outside and it was perfect weather. It's somewhat in the shade so we didn't need to battle the sun in our eyes and the temp was perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was delicious, starting with the bread. We started with the calamari, which was quite tasty. We split a bottle of wine and it was great. The main dishes were amazingly full of flavor; my wife said it was one of the best pastas she's ever had. The pizza crust was crispy but not overdone and the sauce worked well. I had the spaghetti with meatballs and though you would think it a pedestrian order, it was anything but. The meatballs had layers of flavor, hitting the beef and pork notes perfectly. The food at this place is great!! Located right on Park City Main Street, this restaurant has a cozy, romantic and Italian vibe. This was my 2nd time here- the first time, I ordered the salmon piccata and it may be one of my favorite pastas of all time. This time I tried the Mushroom gnocchi and it was also very good. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and you get fresh bread with oil and vinegar to start as well. All the food is so yummy! We had a very enjoyable evening at Buona Vita recently (the night before this year's Sundance Festival). It's steps away from the City Lift in downtown old Park City. The table shared the Bruschetta, which as excellent. The Alla Carbonara was exquisite, although the sauce was VERY rich, and much more substantial than one expects for what is typically a much more sparse dish. The party at our table who had the Vongole raved about it. Overall, an excellent meal. The waitstaff was attentive, the ambience subdued (no screaming decibels in this place). I've never written a review before but then again, I've never been moved from my table bc the people next to me didn't want me there before either. Guess there's a first time for everything. Buona Vita was recommended to us by a friend for great food and cozy, rustic ambience. Walked in and asked for a table in back to have a bit more ambience and be away from the front door--my wife gets cold easily. Shortly after we were seated I overhear the table next to us register with the waiter their upset that we were seated near them. The waiter then comes to our table and asks if we would like another table. Knowing that we were near people hostile to us, we agreed to move. Quickly though I realized I couldn't in good conscience eat at a restaurant that would effectively ask my wife and I to move tables to accommodate another diner's feelings about us. I told the waiter we were leaving. He tried to explain himself--that he asked us bc he wanted to give us a chance to not be near the two, obnoxious women. And while I believe he was sincere, I really hope he realizes he shouldn't have put that on us. Instead of catering to the obnoxious women, it would have been really nice if he had embraced us warmly. The other women should have been made to feel uncomfortable, not us. And while I don't know if how we looked played a role in it or not, I couldn't help but notice that my wife and I were the inter-racial, queer couple and the other two diners? Two, well-dressed, 30-something white women. We had a happy ending though--got a wonderful table at The Depot and had a delicious dinner with an amazing dessert all while surrounded by welcoming, warm, lovely host and servers. Went up to park city for the weekend & we had some of the best food! We checked out Buona Vita based off the excellent reviews & it happened to be pretty close to where we were staying. I thought this place was one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a while honestly! I ordered the Al Funghi. It comes with penne noodles, mushrooms, & a creamy tomato sauce. I think I saw somewhere in the reviews other referring to it as a pink sauce. My boyfriend doesn't care for mushrooms but really liked this dish. I thought the sauce had such a unique taste to it. I can't describe it. It was delicious with the bread being dipped it in as well. Portions were large & I ended up taking half of this meal home & eating it the next day. It made me want to return to park city asap! My boyfriend ordered the Caesar salad as a side & the pollo alla parmigiana. He loved the Caesar salad here! He liked this dish as well. I thought the pasta sauce was pretty basic to spaghetti sauce but the breaded chicken was really good. We thought the bread was too hard that they served to the table. I wish it was a little softer, or larger in size so there was more than just the outside of the bread I felt like I was eating. We tried two wines, The Gabbiano Chianti Classico (red wine) & the Torre De Luna Pino Grigio (white wine). Both wines were fantastic! Cute place! Staff was great! What a terrible experience this place was. First, they do not open at 5:00pm like their hours say online. Second, their online ordering does not work. I was charged $165 for my online order and the order was never even processed. There was "nothing the restaurant could do for us" about the refund despite showing the manager my bank statement charge. The cherry on top was the manager and hostess refusing to seat us because "they don't have any availability" despite 75% of the tables being open so that we could order our food to go after their website failed to process our order. One of the few restaurant with last minute availability on Main Street, which is how we ended up eating here. The ambience was the only positive thing they had going for them. The food was pretty bad, could barely even eat some of it. The espresso martini was 1/2 the size of a normal sized martini, I've never seen something so small. The waitress was fine but they made a communication error on refilling an alcoholic beverage that was barely consumed. The manager came out to explain they had to charge us for both beverages even though we essentially threw out one of them. I gave him the option to comp a kid's meal which was the same price as a drink but he flat out said NO. Said the owner will not allow that. The owner and manager need to provide better customer service and know when they are wrong. They clearly have no respect for the customers. I will never spend another dollar at this place. read more

We got the caprese to start and it was a nice take on a classic. The mozzarella was rolled around tomatoes and spinach and also topped with tomato, drizzled with a balsamic and topped with prosciutto. For entrees we ordered the carbonara and the lasagna. The carbonara was decent and had that nice creamy texture too it. The lasagna, which the waiters do preface, is light on pasta and heavier on the cheese. And that is true. It was good but dare I say, almost too much cheese. Didn't mind the lack of pasta, but would have almost liked more filling/meat sauce in between. Overall, I'd come back and try different dishes.
