Just popped in for a quick snack to get home. Did a one-word Yelp search for "malt" and B&C came up. Highlighted was a portion of a review that hinted at a great chocolate malt. So, I ordered a large and a large fry. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The dining area had maybe 15 people, some dining, some waiting. I walked up to the counter and gave my order, the person was super chill. I don't remember giving my name, so I was curious how they were going to call out my order and if it would be confused with others waiting. Next I hear, "Dave". I thought, that can't be my order already, but then the server used the PA system, "Dave, large fry." I clarified when I picked up the enormous brown bag, "a chocolate malt, too?", half thinking I was getting someone else's fries. But, no... he replied, "still working on it." I sat and waited, it took less than 10 minutes, but barely. They gave me a fire hose of a straw to drink it with. Seriously, it's the diameter of a boba straw. The fries were thick cut and done perfectly. I couldn't stop eating them. The malt tastes like it was made with ice cream. It's a bit on the sweet side for me, but a creamy taste sensation! We were driving through and noticed an old Foster Freeze is now a Burger & Cream and looked online and found another location closer to our destination and decided to give it a try. We parked and walked a few steps down to the building and noticed some tables outside and a dining area inside. We walked in with only a few patrons and were greeted with a smile as we studied the menu. We tried The New Fashion, The Junior, Corn Dog, and Large Fries. The burgers were good, and I enjoyed the lettuce, tomato, and onion on The Junior. Afterward, we decided on chocolate chip shake and Sundae with caramel. They were delicious, a lunch overload. This place sure lives up to it's name! If you live here or are in town and craving a delicious burger and shake come here! We ordered takeout delivery and I was amazed at how well everything was packaged. It was super well-thought out and I greatly appreciate it. They use a cardboard box to setup your meals for an excellent delivery. Ok so now onto the food. Yes yes yes! These burgers are delicious and have so many options for your needs. Want it lettuce wrapped? They've got you! You need a gluten free bun, yup they got that too. It was so nice to see the variety of burgers, toppings, and variety at this establishment. I got the Boss Burger which has a great sauce, cheese, onion rings, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. I asked for no tomato and it wasn't a problem at all. The bacon was such good bacon! Stopped in while we left Lake Oroville and heading back to Reno and we were in the mood for a burger and fries. And luckily this place magically appeared on the Food search list. When ever a place has a spicey burger I tend to order in hopes it would fulfill my spicy palate. Most burger joints can barely tip the spice scale...not Burger & Cream. I ordered the The Spicy Johnny with fries. Burger was on the high scale of spice. FINALLY! So I recommend that if you prefer mild or medium spice, this burger is not for you. As for the fries, they were perfectly crisp and season. I didn't have the appetite for ice cream, so next time we're in the area Burger & Cream is definitely on our pit stop list and I'll be sure to add dessert to my order. read more

Possibly just devoured the best burger in my life! "The Guido," essentially a pastrami burger with the works, was juicy (lots of napkins needed), had all the right flavor combinations with fresh produce, and melty cheese on a soft but thick bun. It was ridiculously good! I paired it with onion rings which came out overdone, so I will get the regular fries next time. According to my bf, the fries were delicious. Since it was my first time here, I had to try one of their frozen "twistie" desserts (similar to McFlurries) that was thick and creamy. The soft serve twistie with peanut butter and chocolate was decadent and would've been a nice treat on its own, but with my big burger and onion rings, it was a little too much. The employees all wear masks and gloves, there is a plastic partition at the counter where you order, and tables are set apart for social distancing. There are also 2 tables outside. I really enjoy eating here. The burgers are always great and the chili cheese fries are awesome. I love the twisties and I believe it's the only place in town where you can get a soft serve ice cream cone. Here is the bad part: Sometimes I opt for the chicken strips. They also serve fish and chips here. It is very obvious they use the same fryer for both the fish and the chicken, as sometimes the chicken strips taste like fish. First visit to Grass Valley location, coming from Elk Grove to meet family from Sparks. I had the Boss Burger and it was very tasty, ranking with the best burgers I've had anywhere. My wife had the pastrami sandwich and could only eat half. She wasn't thrilled with the roll though, but overall the sandwich was very good. We had halfsies (half French fries and half onion rings). The fries were exceptionally good, the onion rings very good, and enough for four adults. The ice cream twisties and caramel apple sundae were great. The twisties come in 12 ounces or 20 ounces and the 12 ounce portion is plenty. The staff were fine and we didn't feel rushed. I planned a motorcycle ride that was taking us through Grass Valley so I picked this Burgers & Cream as our lunch spot. I knew we would have about 20 riders and with covid I was not sure they could accommodate a group this large so I called ahead and talked to a very nice lady who said "come on up, we will take care of you." so that is what we did. And she followed through on her end.. it's a walk up and order and the staff taking our orders got our group through pretty quick and the cooks cranked the food out just as fast as they could as well. All of the food orders were correct, timely, and tasted great so thank you for the efficiency and quality. Maybe it was an off day but I was not impressed. My wife had a small burger. She forgot to ask for cheese - so her bad. Just at a glance it seemed a little light on onions and lettuce. I had a patty melt advertised as on brioche. Well toasted bread or sliced bun- hard to tell. I must be a patty melt snob. I expect a patty melt to be smothered in grilled onions. They were few and hard to find. It really can't be a patty melt without rye. Can't blame the cook for that- obviously a management decision. The dining area is clean and spare. In mho too spare, drab beige with very little color or character. Modern looking but without character. Staff seemed fair to good but not outstanding. We didn't try their ice cream which occupies over half their menu so I cannot speak to that. I will probably try them again but there just is nothing impressive here. Just a little color on the walls or floor would help. It doesn't seem like they don't have any signature items on the menu to give the place character. Certainly not a bad place ; just kinda blah. As she was putting the order in the bag, the corn dog dropped on the ground. I saw her pick it up literally off THE FLOOR, and put it back in the bag, then told her coworker and they giggled and said "whatever". I'm so grossed out I don't even want to eat my food I just picked up and I feel horrible for that person who is about to eat that corn dog. She said "order for Savannah". So savanah, if you're reading this, your corn dog was on that nasty ground. Almost missed this little place as I drove down highway 49. Much to my amazement, we found it. Now don't everyone rush in here and spoil a great thing but I have to share, this places root beer floats are the best I've ever had! They are this rich creamy ice cream from top to bottom of the cup and there is nooooooo skimping! My buddy and I also ordered a chili dog and western burger. Both very good but we were surprised when 1) we weren't asked if we wanted fries 2) there were no sides that came with the burger or dog. Definitely an up sell opportunity. Discovered this new burger place while looking for a coffee place nearby. On a Sunday afternoon, this burger joint was hopping with individuals and families. Finding a vacant table for four required waiting nearby another party to finish their meal. Reading the giant menu board behind the counter, our party of four ordered the Double D Burger, The Boss Burger, Pastrami and the Guido with four fountain drinks. Server brought over our sandwiches in a metal tray. Sandwiches came in big portions. I loved my juicy pastrami with Swiss cheese and pickles. The Double D and Boss burger were scrumptious. I have lived in Grass Valley for 5 years and have passed by this business telling myself I will go and see what's it's all about. So, today I went before the lunch hour rush, and was pleasantly surprised, and left with a full stomach. I have not opened my mouth as wide since my last dentist appointment. 1st- The location is perfect and lots of parking. 2nd- The establishment is very clean and lots of tables, and outdoor dining available. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. 3rd- The menu is large, as are the burgers. There is nothing small to what is served compared to any fast food takeout like McDonalds, Wendy's, or Carl's Junior. 4th- My burger was cooked nicely, the french fries were crispy golden brown, there is a good selection of drinks, including milk shakes. I bought the Boss Burger, Iced Tea, Fries- $19 plus $2 tip. That was a great meal. 5th- The price for the quality of food and service was very good and I will be returning with a neighbor next week.... Take out is available and the customers were coming in a good clip to retrieve their orders.
