I'll start off the review by saying I have yet to be able to try their food- about a month ago we placed an order through the app, and right before we left to pick up the food we received a call from the store. Apparently they had run out of beef so were unable to make the order, though I had already paid. Aside from being frustrated that a burger spot had run out of beef, I have still not received a refund from Burger Boss! I've called several times, and the night manager Jonathan even took my information and confirmation number. I totally understand that these things take time, but each time I call or go to the store to inquire about the refund (again, I paid for the food that I never received) I get the same answer that someone else has to take care of this. Honestly at this point I'm writing this review in hopes that someone at Burger Boss sees this- I literally just want my $30 back that I originally had paid. Good location with lots of parking. There's so many places to eat in the plaza but if you're craving burgers, I'd recommend trying this place out. Build your own and you can even turn your burgers into a salad. Jamal helped us out and he was super friendly and fast. He even gave us a sample of the Coke Life drink. I love that Burger Boss is doing well and expanding all over, we have been fans since their first location years ago in Riverside. They hire a great staff, very friendly, the food is always made to order quickly as requested. I love their fries and usually get a veggie burger bowl with it with sweet chili sauce. My husband loves their burgers and swears you can taste a huge difference in the grass fed beef, kids meals are very generous as well, making this a great place to take the entire family. Brand new restaurant in this part of Tustin. I've eaten at the location in Lake Forest with great satisfaction. This location did not disappoint either. My diet is 90% red meat and Burger Boss answers the call magnificently. The beef is quality stock and cooked to order. Perfection. I have not tried the French fries, but several people at nearby tables seemed to be enjoying them with gusto. They look delicious from my view. The restaurant is immaculate and the staff was polite and attentive. The HR boss is doing their job. This chain hires well. The Lake Forest location had exemplary staff also. Not sure what happened yesterday. This was my fourth or fifth trip to this burger boss. All of my visits, except the one yesterday were amazing. Br yesterday, they messed up on the order. Burgers that were supposed to have tomatoes on it, did not. Burger that were NOT supposed to have tomatoes on it, did. On the screen requested American cheese. The receipt said American cheese, but we got some other type of cheese, was white in color. Lastly, requested egg, for the yolk to be wet, I was told it would be over easy. Also it's extremely rare, but this place makes it happen - super juicy and flavorful chicken breast on their chicken breast burgers. I got the loaded fries, wasn't really a fan as much - still good but meh. Check out my 2/3 lb burger that was made medium well with all the free toppings (they offer a ton of free toppings on your burgers like jalapeños, onions, tomatoes, olives and etc - they also have paid toppings like eggs). You can customize everything. It's amazing. The restaurant is brand new and extremely clean. They have a self-serve monitor so you can order your food without talking to anyone. Bad: Prices aren't the cheapest. They charge an extra dollar for cheese (a necessity!) so a normal 1/3 pound burger is at a minimum $8. The buns were almost cold when we got them. We had high hopes for this place as my girl and I are huge fans of Burger Lounge and thought this would be a similar place.. Nope.. The technology for building your own meal is kind cool.. But doesn't help if they still miss ingredients on the order (the dressing and tomatoes on her Veggie Burger). The vibe of the place is really cool. Love the place and the idea.. Food is where it fell apart. Sweet potato fries looked like they were left in the sizzles all day.. Her regular fries were off.. I honestly didn't know why they weren't good, they just weren't.. Tasted stale although they didn't look like it.. I don't know. My burger patty was good. The bread.. Ehh OK.. The gouda cheese was a nice touch. My girl hated the bean veggie patty. Said it was stale and dry.. Also they gave her a tiny piece of pineapple. For charging extra, it should be a normal size.. Also the fact that they missed some of the ingredients didn't help.. Solid gourmet burger place that specializes in grass fed beef patties. It's a build your own burger place where you can customize your bun, toppings, and various sauces they offer. Foodwise I got the 2/3 lb burger with pepperjack cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, an egg and garlic mayo. Everyone should already know that I had to come here for their grand opening! And was I not let down one bit! The time, effort, and thought that the owners put into the grand opening was great. They had a DJ, photographer, ladies getting customers info down so they can add them to the mailing list, and a "give away" table with a wheel to spin; it was great!! I'm lucky enough to have my girlfriend live right across the street so we are walking distance and will be coming here often (probably more than we both would like to admit HA). This spot is being build in the brand new "Village" in Tustin so its clean, new, and in a good location. The store does offer self serve kiosks that you can order on which will more than likely help with the large crowds that will start to form up. I love the motto they have which is being the boss of your food.... they have a great menu that hosts different types of proteins, buns (or salads/lettuce wraps), chesses (sadly no vegan cheese), toppings, and dressings. Their menu does clearly show which items are vegan and which items are gluten free (thank you Burger Boss for making things easier on us vegans!) So on to what we had ordered; of course what drew us here originally is they do have vegan and gluten free options (along with normal burgers and chicken burgers). We ordered the following: 2 x Black bean burger ("BOSSED" up the way we wanted) on a kaiser bun Regular Fries Sweet Potato Fries "BOSS" Fries Since its hard to rate a burger based off what I bossed it up with; I will just rate the bun and burger. The kaiser bun which was amazing; it was soft, fluffy, and taste as though it was very fresh. As for the black bean patty I thought it had a ton of flavor and was very filling. I did add Cajun sauce and fresh jalapenos so my burger overall was a bit spicy but from what I could taste the black bean burger had its own spice which gave it a small kick! My girlfriend and I LOVEEEE fries so we were in heaven eating all three orders that we got; the boss fries are cool because you can add different sauces and toppings (i.e. I got Cajun buffalo sauce with onions and jalapenos). We both definitely cannot wait to go back and try a different combination. Pretty interesting concept for ordering burgers.you walk in and use a touchscreen panel to make your selection of over 80 different items. Pricing is a little steep, as two burger lunch combos came out to be $28. I would like to see them adjust the ordering so you can change for well done or rare whatever your choice. I don't think it's 100% grass fed. I eat 100% grass fed at home, and this does not taste the same. Watch out for word tricks. Make sure it says 100%. Under our corrupt food laws, cows can be fed grass 1 day and be called grass fed. I think I went to the Newport Beach location - don't know if it's still open. read more
