The Tropic Thunder Burger - sooo good
Brian M.

After a few hours of snorkeling, we were all hungry. I had seen some reviews on social media about the Burger Boys food truck so I thought we would try it. Wow, it was terrific. We ordered a Double Smashed Burger (good smash burger with sauce) and the Tropic Thunder Burger (amazing burger filled with bacon, jalapenos and an onion ring). We also tried the beer battered Sidewinder Fries (good - especially when dunked in the burger sauce). While we were eating a chicken jumped on our table, stole a bite from my daughter's burger and walked through our ketchup. Funny. We were stuffed and happy. I will definitely be back,

Kept seeing reviews on how good this place is. So I had to come give it a try as I love a good burger. I got the double bigger which was massive! I actually couldn't finish it. The patties are nice and thick. I felt like the burger needed veggies. I know it's a smash, but I felt it so heavy that added cold veggies could have balanced all the heaviness of the burger. I didn't really care for the sidewinder fries honestly. Found free street parking

Facebook kept showing me videos about this place and it was just down the road from me in Kihei at the Kihei Food Cart Oasis, worthy of a visit just for itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of seating available and I appreciate that they have misters running for those hot days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Double Deuce smash burger and frankly it was damn good! Like we couldn't stop talking about it. The video hype is real. 100% wagyu beef burgers, homemade sauce, pickles, soft bun and it was a pretty big burger at a reasonable price for the quality you get. I'm so glad I stopped by.

The smash burger and fries were phenomenal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoy all the outdoor seating and music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend you give them a try!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We found Burger Boys in this super cute little food truck village with tons of options, and the guys at the counter were really friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They gave us the lay of the land and let us know they were out of pineapple for the Tropic Thunder, so we swapped in jalapeños. The burger itself was massive, like the size of my hand. Two Wagyu patties with cheese, onions, and jalapeños. Flavor was big and hunger was handled, but it leaned salty and really saucy, so it got messy fast. I also missed having some fresh veggies to balance it out. Price was $26, which felt steep even for Wagyu, though Maui pricing is real. Would've loved a water station or something because that salt hits hard. Return visit is a maybe, but I don't regret trying it, and the staff were genuinely nice.

Was told this was the best burger on island! Well we have definitely gotta find out! So off we went! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Slightly hard to find, but overall a very nice food truck area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered the original double burger as is with the lemonade and the iced tea... The lemonade was not worth it. Too plain and tasted like water with a hint of lemon. The iced tea was just plain bad. Do not order it! I honestly thought it was me, but had my friend try it and we both agree it tasted like burger sauce...the worse iced tea I've ever had. Skip! The burger finally arrived and it looked good, but not like the pic my friend sent me. Well slice in half and let's try this. The meat was good, the bun soft and fluffy, and just the right amount of sauce. Is it good? Yes. Is it the best burger on island? I didn't think so. Worth the drive? Nope. But if you're in the area it's in a great place to check out!

Really enjoyed this delicious, juicy burger. The burger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I enjoyed every single bite! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of seating area with shade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fries are my favorite fries I've ever had. The service was overall good. Food came out fast and was very fresh! Can't wait to go back for more!

Deuce Deuce Burger. Tastes like a high-end Big Mac with no lettuce tomato and onion. The burger meat is great though!
Jacob M.

Staff are friendly. I got the Deuce Deuce burger. The meat tastes great. They don't really add much else to this one particular. No lettuce tomato or onion. Which is fine. There are picnic tables around to sit at while you wait or you can eat there as well.

These are Smash Burgers, waygu beef. Actually very good but they don't match the picture. And the classic fries are normal shoestring with out the skins. At 44. For 2 burgers and one French fries I expect great. No s&p or forks or knives. And Pepsi products only. Update: thank you Nicolas We Are just Leaving the area. At the window , the man said no to s&p and plastic knives n forks. No problem. Maybe move them to the.window so he can see them. Or he is new Thanks for your reply.

Burger was super good, the patty and the bun was a 10/10. The sauce was good too, wish they had ranch though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the area it's in is super chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Over-rated and overpriced. This place is more about the bun than the burger. Tasted fine, but not worth the hype.

But afterwards we wandered back to share a dish, and settled upon the beef special since we hadn't had any all trip. We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. It looks clean , smells clean and with the giant plasma TV's show you what's about to be served you'll feel safe about your choices. The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

I got this both times. - the LITTLE PIGGY was good, but a little overhyped in my opinion. But good to try. - the DUCK DUCK GOAT was wildly disappointing. As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS. Huge portion so that was nice. But the kalua pork was pretty watery and made the crispy tots go soggy pretty fast. Overall a solid spot. Definitely worth trying at least once.

They have lots of things, though. There was a yoga session happening in the middle lawn area. They have a butterfly area, even though the butterflies were somewhere else. There is an aging tortoise, I forget his name. There are also different businesses in the buildings, like a spa and a salon. There are different small vendors with their booths and several food trucks; although, some were not open in the morning and the Thai food truck had all their items sold out on their menu already. The prices were even more pricier than the food trucks at Maui Food Trucks. One vendor had hand crafted desserts for $20/piece! I admired from afar, haha. Everything is advertised as "farm to table" maybe justifying their prices. We shared an acai bowl and it was mid. The the peanut butter was just scraped on the side of the bowl. Our typical acai bowls at least put the peanut/almond butter in the middle like any other topping so you can get an even bite with everything. But the dallop of peanut butter just on the side, it was like we ordered peanut butter on the side of our acai bowl. It was weird. I bet it's more alive at night with more food trucks open and live music. We came and saw and didn't come back. I can see how it can be great for families with toddlers running around, giving them a safe space to burn their energy. Until then, this probably won't be the top of our list.
