We had Burger Monger for the first time recently. I had heard mix reviews about this place, so we gave it a try. Was not happy. The bun was so soggy that I could not eat it. I ended up with just a patty with the toppings. The burger had no flavor. I ordered a chicken tender kids meal, they were so burnt, I took them back for a refund. I went to McDonalds for a kids meal, I didn't want to chance it again. I checked my account later and they credited me 14 cents. This is one place "Been there, done that." This place is just absolutely fantastic. Imagine Five Guys, but taken to a completely different level, and with beer available :) I came here today because I had a gift card. Ordered the basic burger, and got Brie cheese, grilled onions, and mushrooms on it. Small order of fries with cheese sauce. Chocolate milk shake (hey, I had a gift card and was going all out...). Everything was absolutely top notch. The burger in particular was unbelievably good (as it should be at a place called "Burger Monger"). I'm sure all the cheeses are good, but I'd be excited to come back and have the Brie cheese again. Unique and absolutely delicious. The fries were good. I got the smallest size, which was plenty for me. My wife was not as crazy about the cheese sauce as I was, but I thought it was great. The chocolate shake was delicious. Very old fashioned, very thick, but still drinkable (as opposed to needing a spoon). Went in a half hour before closing, they were welcoming and made good conversation. Explained the menu without it sounding annoying (probably had to repeat it 1000 times for other people), and last but not least the food was really good. I signed up for their loyalty program but never received an email so I don't think the girl behind the counter actually took the time to put it in... The burger was very delicious, only downside is that it was so greasy that the bun was literally falling apart. Its been a month after my last visit to BurgerMonger and this time went much better. The staff greeted us as we entered the restaurant and took our order. We were given a number. My wife and I then sat and waited. I was pleasantly surprised that our fries were brought quickly to our table still really hot from the fryer. Then out came our burgers. As I have said before I like the burgers and this time the service equaled the burgers, really good! I watched the staff and they were giving everyone the same attention. Wow, this was my first trip to Burger Monger and I loved the wide variety of toppings available not only on their burgers but also on the chicken sandwich (which was delicious!). I'm already thinking about what combination to create on my next visit. Their salted caramel malt and shoestring fries were excellent as well. Here is the best part (which inspired me to write my first Yelp review): the service was beyond amazing and shockingly unexpected! I can't get over the extra attention we received and the outstanding attitude of both Ryan and Robert who both went out of their way to see that we had a positive dining experience. The chocolate shake was a classic black and white, and my youngest loved her dog. Don't expect mcdonalds pricing. For the 4 of us(2 adults, 13 year old, and 7 year old) our bill was $47 for 3 burgers, 2 small fries, 2 choc shakes, kids dog meal, and 2 sodas. I ordered a 6oz burger with grilled onions & mushrooms with lettuce & mayo and their smallest fries. I love the build-your-burger style and their choices for add-ons & of course fresh cut fries! After all this build up I was actually very disappointed with the food. My burger was bland, it didn't taste like it was seasoned at all but the fries are what killed this for me. They weren't crispy, and they had so much salt on them I couldn't even eat them!! They were completely coated with salt! Yuck. Like a sugar-coated churrro but with salt. I paid just under $11l. That is way too much for this underwhelming meal. If I'm going to pay $11 for a burger and fries I could name 3 other places that serve phenomenal burgers in a fine dining atmosphere with table service for a dollar more or less. I would recommend you skip this place. If you're looking for a quick burger go elsewhere because you can get the same quality for $5. read more
