Again with the delivery system (maybe its our bad luck?), it took the two orders of cry fries and Burger Fi burger a while and the fries were cold when they reached us (why, BurgerFi, why?) even though the onion rings were hot on top. Also, more "half fries" (those half burnt ones) at the bottom of our fries so I guess we got the last of the batch. Extra star because we bought our pup (ok, our baby puppy who is HUGE) and they provide ample outdoor seating and some airconditioning if you sit right outside their doors. BurgerFi, one of the latest fads that made its debut in Winter Park on Park Avenue across from Rollins College. This place is sure PACKED at times. I am a firm believer of GREEN products. Pros: The atmosphere is eclectic with plenty of seating. Various choices of burgers and staff, including a vegi burger. Funky, artsy and modern. I do not eat beef myself; therefore, I can't vouch for the beef burgers, but I have had the VegeFi Burger, which is a quinoa burger topped with white cheddar cheese, lettuce; tomato and secret sauce served on multi grain bun or green style. I went with the multi-grain option. I have no idea what the secret sauce is, I just took it out. Cons: The downside is that the VegeFi burger which is delicious yet is small and is pricey. BurgerFi does not offer a lot of healthy options like salads, cole slaw, old-fashioned potato salad or even chips. What happened to these American traditions ;) Therefore, if you are here on a healthy diet, you will be limited with options. I would go to Pine 22 downtown for healthier options. Parking can be a challenge during busy times, especially around Park Avenue, be prepared to pay for parking at nearby garages. You will probably splurt around $30-40 for a family of four or about $10-12 for yourself. Oh, can we bring more natural, grass-fed places here in Orlando??? We are making progress! Awesome burger place with a legendary burger and other good options. I've been going to BurgerFi since I was in college, so I was very excited when I first heard that Winter Park had a BF. I've been to this location several times since moving here, and they never disappoint. The Winter Park BF is located on the corner of Park and Aloma avenue. They have a random parking lot in the back, but it's better IMO to find a parking spot on the street and walk down Park Avenue. The venue includes inside and outside seating, as well as a Coke Freestyle machine. You order at an open counter area, and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready, but they usually just call out your name. BF offers lots of different fun burger, side items, and shakes, but the best item by far is the Breakfast All Day Burger. This legendary burger, which is included in my pics, contains a wide range of ingredients, including an egg, bacon, hashbrown, and other breakfast items. While it doesn't come with fries (and purchasing fries as a side is a little pricey there), the BAD burger does a good job of filling you up and simultaneously satisfying your burger and breakfast cravings. Overall, the Winter Park BurgerFi is in a great location, is very clean, and continues the proud tradition of the BAD burger. If you are looking for a quick bite while walking down Park Ave, this is a good place to find it. read more

I had a poor experience here. The service was bad. When I asked about a gluten-free burger, no one said anything about the lettuce wrap option and they had to ask a manager about what was in the quinoa burger. The menu is actually not very satisfying, and the options are: burger, cheese burger, or fried quinoa burger. It's also really expensive for the size of the patty. Maybe they charge per ounce of grease, since that's mostly what I got. My husband ordered the onion rings in addition to his burger, and he ended up only eating a couple because he was hungry after he finished the burger. Walked over here after attending a friend's induction ceremony at Rollins. The place was busy on a friday night, but tables were still available for seating. I was initially craving a beef burger, but to my surprise they had a vegetarian burger as well. I hate black bean burgers, but I love other types of vegetarian patties. So, when I saw they used quinoa on their patties, I felt like it was veggie burger fate. I also ordered a cheeseburger for the bf, a side of fries to share, and a red velvet custard for dessert. As we sat down, we looked around to take in all the green features of the restaurant. Just sitting there made me want to bust out in song and dance to the Captain Planet theme song. So if you are sitting inside you will more than likely be right next to the line.The restaurant is also RIGHT across the street from Rollins College, so make sure to check out what is going on on campus if you plan to head here on a weekend. We accidentally went on graduation weekend once and it was a madhouse! The burgers reminded me a lot of in and out burgers, which is a good thing, and they were quite tasty. They are kind messy to eat, but aren't the best food always the hardest to eat? Their onion rings are HUGE and very tasty. There is something different about the breading and how it is seasoned. A small order isn't even remotely small, so I suggest sharing it with a friend. Their fries are delicious and very crispy. You can get them a couple different ways, so you can always switch it up. You know that feeling that overcomes your body when you first bite into an awesome burger, any food for that matter, I did not experience that feeling when I bit into my Ultimate Cheese Burger with a Sunny Side Up egg ($1 up-charge). The extra toppings menu says "Sunny Side Up Egg," but the egg was fried on both sides and the yolk was rock hard. Overall, the burger just seemed very plain, the "special sauce" didn't make any difference to the taste of the burger. The burger came out to $10 with the egg, so for what I paid I expected better. I was expecting more, following all the hype, and honestly I just wasn't wowed. The atmosphere is good, but it's a little annoying that I'm reminded every 10 seconds that everything I touch is somehow environmentally friendly or conscious. Open-air indoor and patio seating, comfortable enough to sit and eat but not somewhere I'd want to spend a few hours. Staff was super nice and efficient and there was a manager who not only oversaw everything but was pitching in, too. The menu is pretty good, nice selection for people with certain dietary needs, and it's basic - burgers, hot dogs, fries and rings. Good list of toppings and you can customize pretty much everything - if they have it, they'll make it happen. I got a double with blue cheese, fried onions, tomato, and did their bun-less lettuce wrap, plus a "cry and fry" which was onion rings and fries, and a soda. Fifteen bucks later, I wasn't that impressed. A burger patty is about as thick as a McDonalds standard patty and cooked just as much - I like my burgers medium rare, and when I don't get a temperature option, I know I'm in for well done. Wasn't much flavor to them, I felt the whole burger was just lacking in...well, everything. Contents, flavor, nothing there. The fries were really good, though, well cooked, thick and potatoey with the skins still on. The onion rings were absurd - HUGE and well cooked, crisp slightly thick batter, had to cut them with a knife and fork so I could dip them in my side of BBQ sauce (which was really good too). A bit expensive at $4 and change, but still good. We finished our meal and headed back for custard. I'm spoiled on the frozen custard I get when I visit Wisconsin, this just didn't make the grade in my book. Yes, it's creamier and richer than fro-yo or soft serve, but overall - meh. I got a regular chocolate and vanilla swirl cone which was large, but not sure it was $5 large. They have a ton of options for shakes, mix-ins, etc. but I wanted just pure custard...it was okay, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. All in all, I'd only go back if someone requested it and if I did, I'd probably try one of the hot dogs instead. Otherwise, I'll continue my search for a really good burger in Orlando. read more

The place was jammed for lunch and only one person at a time can get into the bathroom. Crazy. We were outside under a monster fan and freezing. The first guy we asked to turn it down, said, "I'll see what I can do." Apparently that was code for "don't bother me, I'm bored." The second person must have been the manager because he was asking how everything was. I asked again for the fan to be turned down or off since it was blowing our napkins away. Having been to many of the new variety of burger joints that are around, I figured this would be overpriced and overhyped- especially given its location on park ave. However, I left very satisfied. I got the number 28 burger which has an angus beef patty, and a patty made of brisket that has been dry aged for 28 days. I added bacon to the sandwich for $1, and must say that the burger was fantastic. I also ordered fries that were good but a bit soggy, but I had some of my friends fries and they were much better (seemed that my fry order was rushed out). With a Dogfish Head 90 minute (beer) as my drink I spent about $20 total, which was a bit in the high side - but I thought it was fair considering I chose the premium burger with bacon, etc All said, I was very happy with my experience and will definitely be back to try some other items. Since we actually enjoy holding a conversation we had to find a place to sit outside. Almost $3.00 for a soda? That's a bit much. But they do offer many options with the designer soda machines. And $1.00 for a squirt of organic ketchup! Are you kidding me? Another place that refuses to cook a burger any way except well done. This is a big strike against them. For the record it is not illegal to cook a burger medium rare. I do appreciate that they are using hormone free natural Angus beef though. I actually liked that the single burger was a reasonable portion. And the potato bun had a nice flavor. The burger itself was nothing special, certainly nothing I would find myself craving, especially since they cook the heck out of it so it ends up dry. The skin-on hand cut fries have good flavor but the onion rings are defintely NWTC (not worth the calories). They were coated in a batter that resulted in an oddly leathery, tough texture. We each took one bite and left the rest untouched. Blech! I'm really behind what they are doing here with regards to trying to offer healthier, better quality items with a focus on keeping things green and sustainable. I'm glad THIS is my first review... I went to BurgerFi last night on a date (she happens to live across from Rollins College and we both talked about how we wanted to go but never had the chance). Not only was the combination tasty, but the three gigantic onion rings were fried and breaded to perfection. Having worked in the restaurant business during college, I know the difference between frozen sides and the beer-battered real-deal ones we were given. Sure the manager used Miller Lite, but the Samuel Adams on tap might have not been as good as it is in my head ;) While my date ordered the classic cheeseburger (which she loved), I decided to be a bit more adventurous with my order by getting the VeggieFi "Green Style." I've tried many a veggie burger at joints like this and 9 out of 10 times they're, for like of a better term, crap. This was the 10th, as it was grilled perfectly and didn't taste like a hockey puck. Needless to say I'll be trying to replicate this burger using quinoa like they do. The beer selection was a little lacking from what I had envisioned. That's the only reason I'm not giving BurgerFi five stars (admittedly a nit-picky point). While I was able to get one of my favorite beers bottled (Dogfish 90 Minute IPA), the other beers on tap were not as craft-y as I would have liked to see (Miller Lite, Samuel Adams, Seadog Blueberry and Stella Artois last night). If I had it my way, it'd be a little more extensive, but not to the degree of a Frank & Stein's, where the beer takes precedent over the food. I've kind of grown tired of the "high-end" burger joints, a-la Five Guys. BurgerFi, however, I'd go back to again and again with no reservation (pun intended). I also may be giving a mental -1 for the loud bubblegum pop. No bueno. But it's okay, overall. My group ordered one Chicago Dog, one BAD ("Breakfast All Day") burger, a double cheeseburger and a Cry and Fries (onion/french fries split). Despite long lines, they moved at a decent pace and we didn't have trouble finding a table. The homing devices that allow waitstaff to find you and deliver your order are a nice touch (assuming everyone knows where on the table to place them...). The fries and onion rings were hot and crispy, but I was a bit disappointed with the BAD burger - all the flavors sort of ran together into one artery clogging mess. All in all the dog and burgers were okay. My friend likened them to Steak-n-Shake burgers and that is not inaccurate. With one beer, one soda and one water I think our check was around $35, decent for three people, considering the area. Note that some might be interested in: they have an In-n-Out type hidden menu - okay, it's in plain sight on their website, but still. Looks like they have an Animal Fries equivalent as well. I could taste that it wasn't cooked with very much salt (if any), which I thought was great. When my burger came out, it was hot, juicy with melted white cheddar cheese everywhere. Delish! The food was good and the prices are reasonable. When you first walk-in the scene can be a little over whelming. But once I got in line and approached he counter all my fears were eased. Customer Service- EXCELLENT. From ordering to the delivery I have absolutely NO complaints about anything. There were employees everywhere being polite and welcoming, cleaning tables and chairs, just being awesome! Food-The burgers were amazing! The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The fries were a hit and miss. My fries were beyond cold so i didn't enjoy them. This is why they only get 4 stars from me. But I LOVED the drink machine. The choices are endless and awesome for a soda junky like myself. I haven't been to Shake Shack myself, but I trust these dudes and I loved my burger and fries from BurgerFi. My hubby ordered the breakfast burger and it was soooo dope. This place is fairly new here in WP and today was my first time there. I really liked the whole experience. The place is very new, trendy, and well put together. The burger I had was the double classic with bacon (why not right?), regular fries and a drink. The burger was fantastic! The meat was fresh and tasty. the fires are whole cut fresh potatoes and mine were cooked perfectly. All in all I like this place way more then 5 Guys, which I think is over priced and greasy. Have you ever been in the mood for a burger, but not in the mood for meat? No? Anyone? Bueller? Anyway, I'm weird like that. Today I ordered a veggie burger with grilled onions and mushrooms, fries and an oreo custard shake (because I TOTALLY plan to run the calories away tomorrow). Everything was delicious! The mutigrain bun tasted fresh. The veggie burger was quite flavorful and not dry at all! The fries were perfectly fried however a little bit too salted for my taste. The oreo shake was of course really delicious. For the carnivores, this place uses tender bristket for some of their burger patties (see the menu for which ones). I have heard its absolutely delicious. This location has plenty of communal table-like seating, and is in a prime location right across from Rollins. Very good for family dining. read more
