I felt like true royalty and it turned my rainy day into a shower of joy and appreciation for this restaurant. Good burgers and quick service, but can get slightly expensive when you begin to customize with a variety of toppings. If you like burgers, I would give this place a shot. Some may be impressed while others are underwhelmed. It reminded me a lot of Five Guys, a very popular and highly regarded (for taste, not nutritional value) burger joint. The selection of topping here was very good, along with the availability for chicken or a veggieburger instead of beef. Like Five Guys, the burgers come wrapped in foil, and an order of fried is slightly larger than expected. The custom made burgers are, as expected, slightly messy and will probably require a share of napkins. They also had a "cheese sandwich" that they made grilled cheese style for our young son. Fountain drinks are RC Cola brand, not Coke or Pepsi. That may be a plus for some and negative for others. read more

It was the worst burger that I have ever eaten at a restrauant: it was small, thin, tasteless, lots of grit, and no where near gourmet - unless it is a dog eating it. The fries were aweful and so were the staff. Burgerworx is only for the Harold & Kumar types who are so out of it that they couldn't tell a burger from a cow pile. The food was so bad that I wanted to stop every one coming in and tell them not spend their money there, but go next door. If you don't have at least a good product, then you are wasting your time and money. No one needs to wish these folks failure because they have found it on their own. read more

Definitely not knocking this place with an average rating...I'll go back. It's a cheaper place with decent veggie burgers. Nothing spectacular, but a good place for a cheap meal. The veggie burger was seasoned nicely and had a nice crunch with the coating of bread crumbs. Toppings and sauce didn't add much flavor, which is why it's only average. Bottom Line - One of the best burgers and fries I've ever had! We tried several burgers. All were delicious. We also got a couple orders of large fries. When we saw how big the portion was for the fries we thought that we wouldn't be able to eat them all, but they were so amazing that we just kept eating and eating them until they were all gone and we were fighting over the crumbles. The pimento cheese was some of the best that I've ever had. I had it on my burger and even asked for more for my fries. If I hadn't been so full, I could have eaten it straight with a spoon. Didn't love the quirky decor, but just my preference. Could have used more tables during peak time I would think, but it was sufficient when we were there in middle of the afternoon. They're supposed to be a fast food burger place but often times their burgers take like 15 minutes to make. I tried to call in an order today but they didn't answer the phone the first or second time that I called. If you're looking for a good cheap burger place go to five guys. Their burgers are a little bit more expensive but the taste is much better and the service is quicker and more pleasant. Today I waited 30 minutes to have my single patty burger made. I am extremely disappointed in the service and organization of the company and I will never be going to burgerworx again. read more

I'm giving an enthusiastic 3 stars to this no-frills, not-quite-as-cool-as-farmburger lunch establishment in the Grove Arcade. It's locally owned, centrally located, and convenient to parking. The burgers are decently good--in the style of McDonalds burgers (thin, well-done patty, cheap fluffy bun, nothing gourmet or challenging). The fries are very tasty in a salty, fluffy, homefry kind of way. Ambience leaves something to be desired. Beverages are RC, which I'm a fan of. Clientele seems like a mix of lower-end tourists looking for a cheap lunch, and local Asheville workers (from the government buildings down the street, as well as servers from other, more expensive restaurants). Music selection was really really good. Not much to say, really, as the whole experience was kind of nondescript, but the lunch was decently tasty, it didn't cost a lot, and it came out fast. An interesting burger and sandwich joint in the Grove Arcade. Service was decent, and we sat outside to eat. I had a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Provolone, Lettuce, and Tomatoes with a side of fries. All of our food was good and it was a quick and easy stop for dinner. Parking can be an issue at busy times, but after circling around the block a few times we found a spot. Another interesting aspect of this restaurant that made it unique was the ordering process. Clipboard and dry erase markers are used to make your own sandwich and your food is brought out to you when it is ready. Good food and good atmosphere, however when sitting outside you are very, very close to others sitting at other restaurants and it can be a little cramped and often loud. We had a very colorful and extremely loud bachelor party going on right behind us that was definitely not family-friendly. Huge downside for me was that no Coca-Cola products are served here, whatsoever. I was limited to a 7-Up or a GingerAle, neither of which are my favorite. Overall, I would visit again and recommend it to a friend, but I would also chose to sit inside. read more

Conceptually, GREAT interactive idea. I always enjoy interactive type things and this is great with the menu slips you fill out yourself as in the "creator" of your own meal once you walk in. Choice of amazingly interesting toppings and sauces to fix up your burger/chicken choice. MAJOR PROBLEM: The size of the burger is more flat than the Wendy's hamburger. It is a 9-10$ burger if you add fries and a drink. I think even SONIC might have a bigger and cheaper burger. If I had a suggestion it would be to decrease the offerings of toppings (Liverwurst, Salami) and invest in meatier burgers and then .....PERFECT ! read more
