This is the first weekend Burtons's was open. I came here around 7pm on a Sunday night. We were seated right away and waitress came about 8 mins later. I ordered blackberry mojito, their famous mai thai, and splash sangria. We ordered their firecracker shrimp, and tried their Maxx burger. And here is my verdict- Out of the three drinks I ordered, their mojito was the best for me. Not only was it refreshing but it was well balanced with flavor and liquor. Their infamous Mai thai was a little overwhelming. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't promote that as their famous drink. Their sangria was a little too sweet. It lacked acidity and I wish they added fruits to their sangria and perhaps add something to lessen the sweetness. Anyways we ordered their firecracker shrimp, which was ok. They used the Asian sauce which you can purchase at any Asian mart. The cucumbers were refreshing and def help balance the plate. The burger was pretty good! They made their own onion rings and it was extremely delightful. Their fries weren't too great. Soggy and not very flavorful. Would I come back? I would maybe bc it's close to home , not necessarily for their food. Maybe just to chill and have a couple drinks. I do wish they would offer more local brewery. read more

Came in on a Monday evening for dinner with my family. Our server was very nice and was attentive towards food allergies and intolerances. One of the fun things about the planned community (The Kentlands) in Gaithersburg is there are so many places to eat. They modified the area near the theater and the USPS office. It now has a walkway with several businesses tucked inside it. Burtons is on the outside of that and is a very fun place. Parking is ok. The service was good. The food was good but not epic. We ate outside, that was nice. However, one side of the table was completely unusable because it was in the sun - time to have moveable umbrellas for late-day diners! 1. Wings were good. The spicy iteration of the wings was not spicy. 2. We each got an entre; overall, the food was good. But, now desert, they should say, is their specialty. We got their key lime pie, and it is simply amazing. Honestly, that pie is worth two extra stars just by itself! read more

Only positive things to say' This restaurants niche is that they're allergy/food preference friendly. They have a Gluten Free menu for those that need that. They described themselves as having a scratch made kitchen with the ability to accommodate your dietary needs. The menu was the perfect size--not overwhelming but just enough so that anyone could find something they'd enjoy. The prices were so reasonable and fair for the quality. It's exactly what any normal person would want to pay for good quality. Some places you're spending 25$ for a burger with cold, stale fries but it's supposed to be an upscale restaurant. The food was great, the ambience was nice--tall ceilings with a lot of natural and pretty light. The bar was large and substantial--the drink menu had some delicious looking options. But, the star of our experience was definitely the amazing service from Neema (hope I'm spelling that correctly), our waitress. She made the experience 10 times better. Now a days it is so hard to find a person who works in service who does their job fully and it's so wonderful about it. She was so helpful in navigating the menu for me as someone who wasn't too hungry and vegetarian. She was lovely to our two kids who are usually very shy but happily bantered with her. Simply, she just did what she was supposed to do with a gorgeous smile on her face! I truly only wish good things for her and know her future is so bright with an attitude like hers. They're lucky to have her apart of their team. I really can't say enough good things about her. Again, it's rare to get someone like that these days. Another plus is that they're 100% kid friendly with their kids menu having lots of options. They allow up to 3 sides, drinks and the entree for only 8.95. Amazing! Our kids loved their food (we did too). The food overall was delicious. Not one complaint. For meat and no meat eater I highly recommend the General Tso's cauliflower. My carnivore husband even loved them. He also loved his maxx burger. My salad was delicious and filling too. I will absolutely come back to try more menu items. We had the Spinach Dip for an appetizer then my husband had their fish sandwich ( it's huge) with truffle fries ( make sure to have these, they are the best) and I had the California Chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad and they were both top notch. Our server Hayley was so sweet and talked us through the menu ( we had tons of questions). We were hungry after a costco trip, so we looked for places to eat in the area and found this little gem right outside the Cinopolis movie theater, and I can't recommend it enough. It wasn't very busy when we got there so we got seated in a booth right away. We ordered bread service for the table while waiting for our food, and this was some of the best bread I've ever had. It came with pesto, tapinade, and compound butter. Nice and crusty on the outside and soft in the middle, the way bread should be. For my entree, i ordered the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. The short ribs were fall apart tender and bursting with flavor, and the jus that itwws sitting in made for a good gravy for the potatoes. Prices seemed reasonable and the service was good. I had been to Burton's in the past-- but just for lunch. The reason we returned for dinner was because of your gluten-free menu. One of my friends is VERY gluten-intolerant and saw that Burton's was rated highly on an app she monitors. From the warm greeting to the inquiry about allergies and food limitations, the staff impressed us right away. More than that, our server explained that they have literally differently shaped plates for gluten-free dishes. Indeed, square and round plates were delivered to our table by two different servers. They checked back multiple times to be sure we were OK. Apparently, the owners have gluten sensitivities and have worked very hard to make their restaurants welcoming and safe for others with health challenges like theirs. My friend was deliriously happy to enjoy dishes that would normally be suspect. I chose "gluten-free" as a supportive pal and was very happy with my dish. Definitely patronize Burton's if you have ANY food sensitivities or allergies. Very slow service, we had a large group for brunch on the weekend and we waited a long time for everything: starting from ordering to the time we wanted the check. I have eaten at this location, many times in the dining area and in the bar, happy hour and brunch service can be challenging in this location and I say this for someone who dines in the DC and downtown Bethesda area. I am used to the waiters knowing how to hustle .The happy hour bar is never busy, but the service is very slow. I overheard the bartender mentioning how upset she was that a client was being very impatient, but the truth is the service is very slow. I ordered the service bread to go and it took an hour to receive it. I was there for a total of three hours. It shouldn't take 3 hours to order two drinks and two appetizers and the service bread to go. At this point, they were now two bartenders when I ordered to go. I paid and was waiting for my carry out. When I saw the time, I asked the bartender about my order, it didn't look like it was ready or at the bar so I literally got up in 5 mins to leave the bread, as I was leaving, she caught me and handed it to me. Burton's Grill & Bar is a good addition to the Kentlands. It's located across from Chopt. We came here on a Thursday night for dinner. We were seated right away in the bar area without a reservation. Our service was attentive and shy but overall did a good job. We ordered drinks from the bar which were great but took a while to get because there was only one bartender for some time. Once the second one came, bar service was faster. We started with the firecracker shrimp appetizer which was very tasty and paired well with the pickled cucumbers. Beware of the calamari! Not only it costs $19 for a small portioned appetizer dish, there is a layer of battered jalapeño chips in disguise. It was an unpleasant surprise for my kids and left me feeling cheated as well. The bread service, on the other hand, was excellent. Not only the bread was well seasoned and fluffy, the dish came with 3 kind of condiments and all of which are delicious. My wife's pineapple martini was smooth and delicious. It's not cheap but I understand. My fish sandwich was also good, the fried fish tasted light, crispy and tender but the bun was mediocre. I will stay away from the Maxx burger that my daughter ordered, since the meat patty was bland and nearly tasteless. She had a hard time searching for that "special sauce" the menu promised. My wife's salmon piccata also had its high & low points. The salmon was tender and not dry, the pasta was perfectly cook but the entire dish lacked seasoning and a bit bland. I wasn't gonna mention my son's $10 kids meal but he insisted. The 3 pieces of steak bits were unevenly cooked, with 1 undercooked, 1 a bit charred, and 1 perfectly cooked, so I guess he's getting the variety. The food is average but pricy for what it is. Service was terrible to awful. As we entered the restaurant there was no one at the host desk and a line forming at the door. Multiple employees walked by us and avoided eye contact. The mgr on duty was unfriendly and borderline useless. Our waitress was great but for some reason my beer didn't come until after my entree. They had plenty of employees walking around but not sure what or who they were helping. I was hoping we would've had a great experience as this is a local chain but mgmt was awful. I just went for Sunday brunch today. We have seen the place, but never gone. We were excited to try it and the brunch menu was interesting (we had looked it up online). First, the place is very pretty, inviting, comfortable - like it!. The hostess and out server were excellent: very respectful, attentive and friendly. However the food was a complete disappointment - We ordered short rib dish, the Burton burger and monkey bread. The short rib plate was very bland and plain, the flavors didnt work for me (and our hostess said it is one of the favorite dishes). The burger was ok, but nothing too special, and the monkey bread, which we were so looking forward to, was so hard/crispy and stuck to the bottom of the skillet that it was hard to eat. Maybe we will give it another shot in the future, but for now... I am not sure. read more

Not as good as it used to be. We have had great service no complaints there. However food not so much. Food comes out cold. Hot plate does not warm fries. Short rib sandwich bread wasn't even toasted. Sent back again hot plate cold everything even after sent back. They kept it in the kitchen for a while put back on same plate with the fries now cold. Don't send it not cooked properly in the first place. Grilled cheese needs to be hot. Chicken sandwich Chicken rock hard and cold. We have enjoyed Burtons but no thanks moving on now the third time this has happened. We have given them every chance. read more

Just had lunch here. Very nice place with great friendly service and the food was so good. Such a great menu with so many things I want to try. We had the lobster roll (there for a limited time) and the haddock fish sandwhich. Both were just excellent. Lots of big chunks of lobster and a really big pice of meaty haddock. The server disappeared after taking drink order. Had to get up and ask for her or a manager 4-5 times to get food order placed, dessert order. We had reservations and it was a birthday dinner which she was aware of. Couldn't even bring the requested GF dessert my daughter loves, which topped off the evening. It took an extremely long time to receive the main course and the ice cream for the children even after we ordered from a manager. The food was good and my daughter really liked this restaurant because of the GF options. To top it off we had to ask for the check and no one came to get the payment. A 2 1/2 hour experience. The head manager will get a call tomorrow. 2 stars for quality of food only. The server needs much training or a new line of work. Managers should have stayed on top of the issue. read more
