The Street Taco Bowl with fried shrimp was good- some ingredients are warm some are refrigerator cold - so be prepared- it's not a hot dish. My ribeye was fantastic, great cut of meat. And the bone broth butter on top was unique and very flavorful. The Mediterranean Chicken Risotto was incredible- rich, flavorful sauce and moist seasoned chicken. Had no room for dessert. I can't say enough how much I loved this place. I literally downloaded Yelp just to write this review. I was literally blown away. I was greeted with friendly hosts who sat my boyfriend and I immediately on a Friday night. Our waitress was the nicest person ever, I think her name was Brittany. She was very educated on everything on the menu and was so polite. We weren't going to get an app but we did and I am SO glad we did. The bread service literally. Shook. My. World. If I could hug a food it would be this bread. I literally have never had something so wonderfully delicious. AND it kept coming. You could get as much bread as you wanted, it was included in the "bread service" appetizer. The dips too. SO good. Then I had an incredible salad and it hit just right. We spent Spring Break in Mt. Pleasant, SC and couldn't wait to dine at our favorite restaurant, Burtons Grill & Bar!! We spent plenty of time at this fantastic establishment last year in July and this place and THE STAFF were one of the main reasons why we chose to come back to Mt. Pleasant! Got in late Friday night and our first of 4 visits happened to be Saturday Night...our friends Fernando, Cameron and Kai stopped by our table to greet us - that's correct, I stated "Friends". That's how I refer to people that remember ALL OF US from our past visits, our past conversations, and take time out of their busy schedule to come over and say hello with a huge smile on their faces!! Regina was our server the first night and she was wonderful and attentive with the trademark Burton's Smile all over her face! GF Firecracker Shrimp and GF Signature Wings were as delicious as we remembered. Short Rib Grilled Cheese GF was amazing! Glutenberg Red was a welcome addition to the drink menu...nice for someone that has celiac like myself to enjoy a pint out. 2nd and 3rd night I had one of my favorite dishes...GF Pasta Piccata with chicken. So delicious and filling! Risotto Fritters GF were absolutely SIC!! Hit the spot, we ordered them twice and whole family enjoyed. Our server Zack was awesome, great service and conversation! Last night of our vacation, my wife and I had the Lobster Shrimp Pasta...what a way to end the trip! 7 layer cake, kids shared the Hot Fudge Sundae and a nice Woodford Reserve for yours truly was usually the way we liked to cap off the night. What can I say regarding Fernando, Cameron and Kai? They are phenomenal!! They treat us like family, it was like we live in the area and we come every week. I can't describe the feeling you get when you receive a warm reception, great service, and have conversation that doesn't feel forced along with a menu that is mouth watering. There is no way to describe it, you must experience it for yourself! The kindness Fernando who is a Manager at Burtons showed us and my son Francesco (who happens to be in the Culinary Club at his HS) was something we will never forget! What a testament to his hard work that he shared with us that last two weeks of May he is going to be training staff at Burtons Grill new location in Gaithersburg, MD!! We stayed in Gaithersburg once to cut the travel to a family Christening in Maryland so it was really something that the new location happened to be a place we stayed at randomly. After hearing that we had been there previously and that the travel was within 3 hours, Fernando requested that we meet him there as his guests the week of the Grand Opening. Our last night I happily showed him where we were spending our Memorial Day Weekend...the State of Maryland!! There was nothing not to like about our dinner at this popular chain ... convenient Towne Center location, plenty of parking, a large bar area separate from the spacious dining room, a menu with enough apps and entrees to please and a pleasant, attentive server. On the other hand, we were there for the food ... and it was just average. My American Mule ($10.00), made with Tito's, was large, which is usually a good thing, but the proportions were off ... way too heavy on the ginger beer. (Joe's California merlot ($12.00) was a decent pour and satisfying .) Our side Caesars ($5.95) were generous, but overdressed. Joe's bone-in grilled pork chop ($24.95) was nothing special, topped with a fine dice of roasted red peppers and accompanied with overly mashed potatoes. No other vegetable was available to substitute for the broccoli as the julienne veggies were sold out ... disappointing. My Paleo sirloin ($27.95) was a generous portion and grilled to order. I enjoyed the caramelized onions and mushrooms though I wish the portion was larger. Marinated tomatoes and fresh steamed broccoli rounded out the plate ... no problem! We did not have a reservation but I suggest if you plan to arrive after 6:30 PM you reserve a table as the entire restaurant and bar area were filled by 7:30 PM. An aside: I have a food allergy that I usually don't disclose but I also have trouble lying, so recently the bartender asked me if I had an allergy and I begrudgingly said "yes but PLEASE don't worry about it". Burton's has never disappointed me. From the fancy still water in a wine glass, to the amazing appetizers and salads. Entrees are always spot on for me. The service is always so nice and welcoming, they ALWAYS make sure everything is good and came out how it should have. This time I got the brisket grilled cheese with the rosemary Parmesan fries. From making the reservation with the sales department, to leaving after the event. We had 24 guests, and everyone was served promptly and politely. Honestly, I go here about once a month with my wife. It's probably my most frequent dining venue. It's just really easy. The service is great, and if you're a regular and use their loyalty program the prices are pretty great too. The super food salad with crab cakes is her favorite, I like the Baja Bowl but honestly a monkey could throw darts at the menu and you'd end up with something good. They know what they're doing at Burton's too. Over the holidays I ordered their togo meals -- Burtons provided me with a great Christmas Dinner and all I had to do was warm it up. And My Wife and I both celebrated our birthdays on their patio. The service was great and we had large parties and the wait staff was super helpful and friendly, even with our little ones. Burtons isn't some kind of magical culinary experience. But If you're looking for excellent food that everyone can enjoy no matter what their dietary restrictions are, or are looking to just have a low key night with your spouse in a relaxed environment, Burtons is a great place to do it. read more

First, this is the best restaurant I have ever been to when accounting for its customers food allergies. The only good thing about this restaurant was the service! Their menu is VERY small and limited and definitely overpriced for the quality you receive. The crab cakes lacked flavor and were more bread than crab (yuck). The chocolate cake was so dry you could choke on it. I had to wash it down with milk in between bites. This used to be one of my favorite go-to restaurants. I've eaten here so many times and it's always been consistently very good. I convinced a reluctant friend to try this restaurant after raving about it. Unfortunately, to my surprise, we had such a disappointing experience. I was embarrassed I recommended coming here. They recently remodeled the place and apparently are under new management and must've changed their menus/recipes. It has gone downhill big time. The young girl at the hostess stand was extremely unpleasant, we were taken aback by how unbelievably rude she was. Our server made up for it though as she was super nice and attentive. The spinach artichoke dip was below average with stale chips. My friend got a Caesar Salad and the chicken was so overcooked and dry she picked around it. I got the Black Bean Burger, which I crave because it's always so good. This time, it was absolutely terrible. Dry, burnt bun, overcooked burger patty that had really hard chunks of stuff in it that almost broke my tooth and I kept having to spit out things that I couldn't chew, the tomato was white it was so hard & underripe I had to take it off, the lettuce was old and wilted, the avocado was brown and they gave me MAYBE 10 fries on the side. I was so excited for chocolate cake for dessert, thinking it might redeem our underwhelming experience. They gave us a piece of cake that was maybe half the size they used to for the same price and the cake was dry as dust and the buttercream had big chunks of butter in it. My friend and I both started to feel like we could not breathe out of our noses half way through our meal, not sure if it was from the heavy fragrance in the restaurant or from something in the food. I could taste air freshener in my mouth which was super gross. Neither of us have food allergies and are not sick so it was strange. Hopefully this was just a really bad night for Burton's but I'm sad about this and not sure if I will be back again. read more

Burton's looks to be upscale on the website. While the place is "nice" it is certainly not "upscale". It is a decent place with a nice atmosphere. The menu selection is ok. A person in my party ordered the "Chorizo stew" soup. When she asked for bread she was told "we don't really have just bread, we have garlic bread and it's like 3 bucks". When it came out, it was a small piece of bread with some stuff on top. Not what you would expect. This place is a 3. Nothing more, nothing less. read more

We always make reservations as a precaution but there wasn't an issue of waiting long. I had the superfood salad with shrimp and OMG - delicious. I couldn't eat it all.
