    Buttermilk Chicken Tenders
    Eric M.

Had a late night meal craving some good ole chicken tenders after HYROX NYC. Great tender! Had excellent flavor and still some crunch after delivery! Also love to see local business doing hand cut fries and homemade food. Always will pay a little more for it. The sauces left something to be desired I think the honey mustard and bbq sauces were a miss on my end and the cornbread to be dry, but there's still a lot to like here. Would definitely try some of their bbq in person next time I come!

Coming back 4 years later after an initial stellar review, I was disappointed with some of my choices. What was good: Burnt Ends: No wonder they are award winning!! They packed with immense flavor and tenderness. This was by far the best meat of the 3. Pork ribs: They were fall off the bone and the sauce was delicious. They were flavored thoroughly. Brussel Sprouts: whoa these were out of this world good! The crunch was mastered and the glaze packed it with dynamic flavor. The Bad: Pork belly: This was the most disappointing, dry bits, not much flavor Corn bread: just bland, dry, not worth consuming Corn: it felt like it was just cooked and slathered with some mayo and tajin seasoning but there wasn't any flavor to it Mac n cheese: nothing to write home to

Mac N Cheese, Burnt Ends aka Meat Candy, Corn Bread & Grilled Chicken!! Bam

One of my favorite BBQ spots. Always enjoy the food here. Great flavor and tasty indeed. Grilled chicken was delicious especially with their BBQ sauce, the creamy Mac and cheese was equally delicious and flavorful. On the Ribs I'd go with the fall off the Bone instead of the dry rubbed. Just my opinion. Corn bread was good and the mashed potatoes could use some butter and seasonings.. Besides that we enjoyed our meals. Service was great. Jade took care of us. Very nice and accommodating. The venue itself is very nice. Clean. Flat screens to watch the games on, nice bar seats, outdoor seating options. Overall great spot for lunch, dinner, solo or with a group. So if you're looking for some good BBQ check out Butcher Bar! You won't be disappointed. Have a great one yall! -Ray

We had an amazing time, they offered great promotions for their drinks which was amazing! Their service is super fast and our server was always great! The only thing I would suggest improving is their corn bread, maybe if it was a little more moist or warm it would help with the experience! The place was very cozy and tbh, would have been great for a night out with friends and just staying for a while! I love that they have an extra review program with their cards at the end of your meal, really a great idea to check on comments from their costumers! Great spot in Astoria

Brussel sprouts with bacon with a side order of fruit fly !

This place was recommended by a pt of mines! I finally went to try it & was super disappointed!! Corn bread & burnt ends were decent!! Everything else wasn't worth it!! Sadly!! Brisket lacked flavor, meat on ribs were super dry, cole slaw had a funny spoiled flavor, corn was old & shriveled but slathered with mayo so you can't see it but you can sure taste it!! Don't get me started with the brussel sprouts with bacon, it was very greasy & halfway thru it a bug/fruit fly fell out of it!! Just absolutely delicious!! I told the staff & my waitress Cathy came over & she said that it's normal since they get a lot of fruit flies!! I'M DEAD!! You get to eat bugs/fruit flies while you're there as she said tis the season!! FML!!!! Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Service was great! Cathy was awesome and super helpful. Meat candy was sooooo good. I ordered the animal burger, but they let me sample the meat candy. Highly recommend if you are in the area

Super friendly service, attentive staff (about 3 ladies including the bartender) always checking on us. Staff seated us right away on a Saturday evening with no reservations and our server was friendly and told us they were out of ribs and only had 1 hangar steak left - much appreciated so we were able to manage our expectations. Ordered the smoked wings, that last butchers steak and burger with brisket. Everything was good, generous portion and affordable!

Visited this place and oooo my goodness!! Delicious! We got pulled pork, pork belly, and brisket, with mac & cheese, garlic broccoli, brussels sprouts with bacon. Everything was delicious. Service was also great! I will be returning for sure!

I'm disappointed. I heard so many good things about this place but it did not live up to the hype. The space is really nicely themed and smells of bbq as soon as you walk in the door. The staff is really friendly and made lots of recommendations. But the food ... lackluster I know we're not in Texas but I've been to other sit down bbq places in NY and Butcher bar falls short. It hurts me to say but the garlic broccoli was probably the best thing I ate during my visit. And the burnt ends deserve a shout out too , they were pretty good. Burger gets a pass too The wings were okay. Good texture but nothing amazing The Mac and cheese is creamy but pretty flavorless. The brisket was really disappointing. Really thin and a little tough on the bite. Cornbread was okay. Nothing spectacular a little too grainy for me. Overall I'd say good for a one time thing but wouldn't come back.

1/4 Rack St. Louis Style Dry Rubbed Ribs-1/4 lb brisket- 1/4 lb burnt ends
    Catherine Y.

Overall, the food was ok. There were some winners and some losers. The burnt ends were pretty good, the fat well rendered, the brisket was too lean for my taste, and the pork belly was a disappointment. It was cut so thin that it was hard and dry. I was disappointed that the cornbread has gotten way smaller or maybe they just gave less than they used to since it was one of the things we enjoyed. The Brussel sprouts and queso street corn were both really delicious. The cheese fries were super disappointing as the fries were not fresh cut and desperately needed some color. Our server was nice but not to be found when we needed him given it was a quiet weekday and there was only one other table there. I do think it was only him and the cook there at that time so I didn't make a big deal of it.

I try to eat only organic food. What meats are organic? What sides are organic?

I have no idea but you can give them a call and inquire about that.

I was wondering if they still allow BYOB?

I don't think so. That is usually only allowed while a liquor license is pending.

Curious what time are items such as the Porkys platter and other similar items available on Saturdays? A friend had told me when they visited at 2pm one day some time ago that the brunch menu was only available so I want to be sure! Ty!

Brunch ends at 3:30pm... platters can be ordered after then!

What time is brunch served until on the weekend?

    4 pm

    Keto friendly options?

    Absolutely !

How is the street parking in the area? I'm in the Briarwood section of Queens, so commute isn't too easy by train (sadly). I'm wondering if I should ditch the car and Uber?

There is a municipal lot at 38th and Steinway that usually has spaces if you can't find street parking.

Do you roast pig for takeout?

No... we only have pulled pork and pork ribs for take out. Roast pig is for catering orders only and starts at $500 for a roast suckling pig roasted in our oven. We offer rotisserie pigs and pigs done in a “Caja de China” but both of those options…

Are the smoked ribs and burnt ends beef?

They have both pork and beef! All outragusly delicious!!!

    Is this place kid friendly?

    Yes

There has to be a better way to organize this. All that aside, Pig Beach is where you want to come when you're craving BBQ on a nice day. The venue is mostly outdoors with a few indoor tables and two bars. Drinks here are well priced and the specials are even better - I paid $5 for a tequila spritz last time I was here. The meat here is really tender and the sides absolutely slap. Even if you're coming here with a vegetarian there are solid options - the mac and cheese and cole slaw are my favorites. Also I never thought I'd be okay with paying $7 for pickles but the half sours here absolutely slap. Last time I went here I had the ribs which were huge and tender, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage that I def didn't need but it was so, so good. If you're coming here to watch a popular game, get here early to snag a spot.

I would gave them a 2 star for yesterday's experience. First, the place was empty on a Friday night at 10:00pm. Probably have 3 takeout order while we were sitting down. The first time I went was on a weekday night back in December, and there were more patrons. Not sure if the place is going down hill, but they dont have slushies anymore. We had the mango slushies the first time, and the only drinks available was whatever bottle drinks they have in the fridge. Mind you, they dont serve you water, so you have to get drinks since the food is garlicky or spicy. We wound up getting the milk tea ice rice this time. It was ok. I never tried it, but the rice is a bit hard. I won't order again. Best dish is large eggplant. Very flavorable, maybe a bit too garlicky. Will order this again. Also, the chicken wing is huge, for the price of $3 each. Thats why we ordered 2 chicken wing this time. But, I think it wasnt grilled as nice as my first time. Still good since it is a lot of meat for the price of $3. Lotus root is also pretty good, glazed with sugar. The worst i would say is the lamb, a bit too chewy, lack of flavor. The bathroom has all sorts of postcard of famous album. I found that pretty neat. Lastly, I think the squid tentacles is much smaller than before.

It was so cold out the night I went so I was very happy they kept it nice and warm inside the restaurant. There's a very large selection of skewers, they have basically everything you could want. I especially appreciate that you can order just one of any skewer, unlike some other places where certain types only come in orders of 3 etc, allowing you to order a large variety even if you're dining alone. The seasoning was delicious, and every skewer was not coated in identical seasoning. None of it was spicy at all if that's what you're looking for, but none were lacking in flavor. The meat was juicy and you could taste the smoke from the grill. I loved the different textures of vegetables which were all well cooked. I'm still thinking about the crunchy exterior of the rice cake. I think my favorite skewer was the lotus root, which was perfecting complimented by the seasoning mix. An amazing meal! 16 skewers came out to less than $50. I look forward to returning!

The place is LOUD albeit with good taste of retro, 90's music and not the modern trash that floods the radio waves so I can rock with that. Place is sized pretty well with an outside seating area and plenty of tables inside the albeit dimly lit bar/restaurant. Coming into the place I was greeted by a blonde woman who seemed to be a supervisor of the area. She directed me to a comfortable seating area and a server took my order afterwards. The place was relatively busy so the wait for my food was kind of in the long range, about maybe 15 minutes. I ordered Chicken & Waffles with Iced Tea and the food was definitely worth the wait. That chicken was so good, a bit on the crisp side but it's solid in taste. The Waffle had such an awesome texture with the right measure of powdered sugar, decorated with Blueberries and Strawberries, the entrée was plated very well. The Iced Tea, I didn't know it was unsweetened so that threw me off but some sugar kinda fixed that. Service was also 'A' Tier. The place was busy so it was a tad on the slow side but they were very attentive. About 3 different servers tended to me whether it was about my order, how I liked it and paying for the bill when I was finished. That's dedication and I always give props to that. I enjoyed my visit here.
