Finally able to try this place (sometimes hard to find parking or line appears too long)! But what i learned was that they are fairly fast, so take out is worth it too, if youre able to find parking. Simple process to dine in-- name on list, wait outside. She'll call you when table is ready. Decide your order while you wait. She'll give you menus when your table is ready but you order and pay at the front register. That's nice so you leave whenever youre done eating. I was very impressed with how patient she was with everyone. She remained calm, cool, and provided terrific service to all. Menu is fairly small but definitely get a French toast. Majority chose all the fruits and whip cream (so fully loaded), even though that added over $7. The stuffed one looked good too but more people ordered the fruit ones. We got the banana one and it was so good, didnt even need syrup. Corn beef is the real meat one with string potatos, not canned version with potato cubes. Bummed they ran out of meat jun. Portion size looked like a heaping mound! Next time.

Valentine's take out order. placed an online order via seamless app. within 15 the order was ready just as i pulled up to pick it up. parking lot and restraunt was already full. my daughter hopped out, grabbed the goods and drove, ready to grind in the comfort of home. the korean short ribs were tasty and soft... fall apart with plastic fork kine tender. dem tots were still crunchy and ono. bits of fresh corned beef was ono too.

Driving to Haleiwa, we were looking for a breakfast spot & found this tiny place. Waited about 10 min to get seated. Oh boy! My husband and I tried this place for the first time back in December 2025 and we shared the short rib Benedict. Thank god we shared it because it was the perfect portion to start our day. The short rib was so moist and tender. We also got it with fried rice and that definitely enhanced the flavor and taste of our meal. The wait was about 20 mins. There's limited seating inside but it was definitely worth the wait. I am definitely putting this spot on my list of places to visit when we come back. The staff were really nice and service was great! It's easy to find but parking can be limited.

There was a line of people waiting before they opened, which is always a good sign. There was a mixed demographic of customers which is another great sign! You're handed a menu to look over after you're seated. You go to the counter to order. Water and coffee are self serve. The food was prepared rather quickly and it was such huge and delicious portions! There are only like 6 tables so you'll probably have to wait if you come at a busy time, but I promise you, it's worth it!

I was excited to try here, wanted to try since they opened but never been here till now. Small hole in the wall with maybe 9 tables. Service was pleasant, the cashier was sweet. The corned beef in the Benny had good flavor, wished it was made more like a patty. Corned beef hash seemed like it was just tossed with potatoes. The French toast was ok not as sweet as I expected which was good. The fried rice was undercooked. Overall the food was mediocre.

Cute little hole in the wall with tons of free parking. There's only like 6 tables or so. Make sure to have your whole party with you or else they won't seat you. The girl at the counter was sweet. The homemade corned beef was yummy. We ordered the corned beef Benny with potato hash but it was just cubed potatoes and it was a LOT. The stuffed French toast was suuuuper sweet just as you'd expect. The classic breakfast was just that. Classic.

Super small restaurant offering big flavors! They do a lot of to go orders, I don't think I saw them not packing up someone orders to go the whole time we were there. The French toast was huge, we saw another party order the stuffed French toast and were amazed at the size! It was HUGE! The Koraon short rib melted in my mouth, first time I had eggs benny like that. The eggs were perfectly poached., I was only wishing for more hollandaise sauce, it was kinda lacking I. The amount. Really it was hard to find the sauce or the flavor in my bites. The reg 2 stack French toast with strawberries and banana was enough to share due to the sheer size of the sweet toast! Yummy!!! Husband stated he thought their fresh made corner hash was really good, and he loved the fried rice!

Some friends told me about this place and even showed me the photos but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to go. However, my Sunday morning plans changed and Janey and I trekked out to Pearl City to find this gem...hidden gem is more like it. It is located in a small commercial center on Nimitz. If you don't know where you're going, you will miss it, however, look for the people waiting. There's plenty of parking which is great! The inside is small and cozy but they do a great job. It's also not a place to sit and talk story. Eat, talk a little while eating, and then leave cause people are waiting. We decided to share the Korean short rib benny and the ube stuffed cheesecake french toast. I also had a small side of the homemade corned beef hash. That benny was soooooo good! Tender short rib with delicious hollandaise sauce, and we upgraded to the delicious fried rice. The french toast was delicious! Janey said she'd only take a small slice, but then kept eating at it...LOL! We loved the corned beef! The staff is soooo friendly! It is a well oiled machine! Lots of families coming in. Locals and maybe a few tourists. Definitely worth coming out to. Looking forward to coming back! Mahalo Button Up!

Craved for an eggs benedict ideal during brunch. Korean Braised Short Rib Eggs Benny is the epitome of easy to pull apart, tender pieces, with fat around the edges that keeps it tender and supple. Runny yolks complemented the deep marination from the short ribs and English muffins. Add in heaping scoops of local style fried rice containing Portuguese sausage, spam, bacon with fat, diced onions, green onions, shoyu, oil, black pepper. Both items delivered an explosion of flavors varying from creamy, rich, savory, salty, tangy. Yummy for the tummy! Stuffed Ube Cheesecake French Toast has a quarter of the center filled with creamy ube mixture. Loved how inside tasted soft and pillowy. Syrup not necessary. Best consumed all together with hybrid of whipped butter or less intense chantilly, sliced strawberries, whipped cream, ube and toasted coconut. Also loved how this particular French toast is mildly sweet. Perfect to consume for breakfast, brunch or dessert. Majority of parking stalls in the front are compact and tight. Highly recommend parking in the back if driving a larger vehicle. There are five tables with chairs. Best to arrive prior to open business hours if dining in. Dress comfortable. Mini restaurant gets packed with people, main door is kept open, while ambiance gets warm even with ceiling fans running. Big mahalo to the sweet ladies for excellent customer service and kitchen crew for cooking amazing meals. Would love to try the corn beef or kalua pork eggs benny and stuffed strawberry cheesecake French toast in person on a future visit.

We stopped here for a quick bite before we headed to Waikiki, we saw this place on one of our favorite YouTubers video and wanted to give it a try. My wife and I shared the short rib benedict. It was so ONO!! The short rib was so tender and flavorful, we also got it with fried rice which had bacon and spam in it that was good as well. Service was great. You have to be patient as the restaurant is small and can get packed. We signed in and waited about 15-20 minutes. All in all everything was great.

Unassuming little hole in the wall with incredible breakfast/lunch options. Great home cooked style meal with generous portions that come out fast. The wait list can be a little long because the place is very small, but worth the wait- just not a place to take your time eating at! If you're not used to the Hawai'i temperatures, 10/10 recommend going on a cooler day as it can get pretty warm in there! Could have done without the coffee- but the food and quick service made up for it!

I finally got to try this place after months of bookmarking it.... This hole in the wall is really a hidden gem! Although the seating is limited, the food makes up for it... My boyfriend had the short rib Benedict with fried rice and I had the strawberry cheesecake stuffed French toast which were both delicious! The French toast was just perfect to taste, not too sweet or overwhelming. It is a generous portion so if you don't want it as a meal, it's perfect to share on the side. Also, the staff is really friendly and service is fast! read more

I absolutely LOVE Button Up Cafe! This was my first time eating here and let me tell you the food is AMAZING, I would like to give a big thanks to the hard working chefs in the back cheffin it up. Also the customer service is fantastic. The esthetic of this restaurant is a cute little vintage vibe which I really enjoy. The only thing that It does get warm due to it being no AC. But other then that I HIGHLY recommend you try this place if you have not already. P.S I will be coming back!!!!! read more

This place is super yummy. Go in the morning in a weekday to avoid pearl city traffic. There was only 2 people when we went in but before we left it got really packed. We went for breakfast but I can imagine it gets really packed around lunch time. It's a cute little breakfast and lunch cafe. Prices were pretty reasonable and portions were larges. We tried the popular stuffed strawberry cream cheese French toast which was super good but is on the sweet side. We also had the corn beef hash Benny with fried rice. If your a corn beef person I recommend trying it, it's great! We'll definitely be back again read more

Sunday-715am. The famous XL Stuffed Strawberry Cream Cheese French Toast: As Aunty Marialani would say, "Not too sweet...and just right!" It's a generous portion with the perfect French toast to strawberry cream cheese to pastry cream ratio. My BF and I joyfully smashed her to bits in under 5 mins. Spinach and Mushroom Omelet with Tater Tots: First of all, the fact that tater tots is even offered as a side makes my heart sing. Again, the portion size is hearty. The omelet was chocked full of spinach, mushrooms, and onions which were well-seasoned yet not too salty. When we got there at 715, it was pretty empty but it got packed when we left. No MSG!!! The service was on point. Friendly cashiers and prompt delivery of our dishes. Highly recommended to Foodies the island over. read more

Came here for brunch with my family after finding this hidden gem on Yelp and boy am I glad we decided to give it a shot. Most of the time it's these "hold in the wall" eateries that dish out the best food. We ordered the stuffed French toast and t came with strawberry filling. First of all it was huge and the filling was just right! Not too sweet not too thick but just enough. The portions are big and for the price point you can't go wrong. Come early because it does get crowded on the weekends and there isn't much seating. read more

LOOOVE LOVE LOVEEEE this little breakfast spot in pearl city! the location is perfectly located off of Kam highway next to the vacuum store! its a small cafe with a few tables inside and a few outside of the place. the prices are a little high, but the service is on point! you order your food before you take your seat, and the lovely workers bring the food over to the table your seated at. The food was really good and I would recommend the fried rice! I havent got the chance to try the cheescake they serve because its alwasy sold out :( which is a bummer because i have a majorrrr sweet tooth! overall, this place is a 4 stars because the prices are a little high, and they sell out of some of the menu items pretty early in the day! but I love the convience of the place and the location! read more

Where do I start... dropped hubby off at the ship and we were starving. Yelped best restaurants and Button Up sounded good. I was wrong, it is GREAT! I ordered the Korean short rib beef eggs Benny (11.95). OMG delicious! Monster one ordered the chicken pesto sandwich (7.95). Big chunks of chicken and delicious. Side salad a great touch. Monster 2 ordered a port. Sausage and spam omelet (9.95). Tons of meat... of course she ate barely any. But it is good. I like my omlete with more veggies in it. Too many other choices my taste buds want to try... kalua pork poutine! Strawberry cheesecake stuffed pancake! Bulgari grilled cheese! Great service too. Highly recommend! read more

So Ono! The Korean braised short rib beef eggs benny is the bomb. The meat is so soft that you can cut it with a fork and melts in your mouth. Also tried the spinach and mushroom omelet that had the right amount of ingredients. The tatter tots were so crunchy and didn't get soggy after awhile. Joyce was so nice. This place is worth the drive. Try the stuffed strawberry French toast too. Can't go wrong. read more

OMG! Using Yelp my sister and I checked this place out. We actually ordered take out due to the reviews saying it was a small place...but the food reviews were good. We ordered 2 Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast & 2 Korean Braised Beef lunch plates. The French Toast was delectable the presentation of the take out plate was a 10. As they say in Hawaii, "Broke da mouth" delicious. The Korean Braised Beef plate was delicious - the beef was tender and seasoned perfectly with the mac salad and rice. Unbelievably delicious is all I have to say. We ordered eggs Benedict and a side of French toast. SO. MUCH. FOOD. The hollandaise sauce was wonderful, and the tater tots, they were little bits of potato heaven. Highly recommend this place after having a strong workout. Only thing is that it is in fact cash only. Next door at Money Mart (the exchange place) they do have an ATM which is convenient, so I didn't lower the stars due to this one little detail. Killer breakfast, friendly service, Mighty Leaf Teas. What else can I say? I will be back and I would love to try their lunch options as well. read more

Came here on a whim after a good morning run and workout. Super quaint and cute spot off Kam Hwy. Honestly was not expecting much, but when I saw the menu, I was pleasantly surprised. The cashier was super friendly and customer service was great. When the food came out I was impressed with the presentation. Also, not only did it look delicious, but it tasted great, too! They've only been open for about 2 months, but I hope they stick around for longer. Prices are reasonable. Definitely will return! read more

The go to "hole in the wall" for breakfast. I over ate and wasn't mad about it... Actually I was wishing there was room for more. We ordered the Kalua pork eggs benny and stuffed French toast. Absolutely amazing. Come hungry because the portions are pretty good sized and it's comfort breakfast food. Only negatives would be The hash browns and potato hash. They could use some basic seasonings. They are a small place and it was a bit of a wait for our large group of 7. I wouldn't recommend bigger groups that 6 based on the size of place. Overall an amazing food experience. read more

This place average. I brought my family here at 1000 on a weekday. We walked in and the place was really small. It's not really a sit down brunch with your lady kind of place. It's more of hole in the wall plate lunch vibe with paper plates and plastic silverware. We walked in and did not you had to order from the counter and seat yourself. We just stood there awkwardly until we figured it out. The girl behind the counter seemed like a Japanese exchange student. I ordered a full stack of pancakes, strawberry cream cheese stuffed french toast, and short-rib moco. We sat ourselves down and our food came out pretty fast. First, I got some plain French toast. I tried asking the girl behind the counter why it wasn't pancakes and she couldn't understand. So I just ate it, because it don't like to make trouble. It was nothing special, just your average cinnamon French toast. Next, the stuffed French toast came out. My wife and I thought Sweet E's was better with their blueberry stuffed French toast. Last, was yes short rib moco. I had high hopes for this one. The short rib was way too sweet and overpowered the beefy taste of the short rib. This dish really messed up my meal, because I was craving something salty after all the sweet. Overall, nothing worthy of me recommending this place or making me want to come back. read more

No button up shirts required for button up cafe but bring your appetite. The wife and I indulged on her favorite yet again, breakfast. Just with a cursory review you can already see the obvious Hawaiian flavor of the menu with dishes that won't be found to common anywhere else. I love Portuguese sausage and Kalbi so their appearance in the menu was welcomed. Boy o boy my wife's french toast was huge and delicious. The best contribution from the French, second only to their fries. A great breakfast spot read more

I do not remember what I got specifically but it was alright. I like to try local businesses a try and see what theyve got. This place wouldnt be a place I would go to. Their food was OK and not the greatest. The lady who took my phone order told me it was going to take 40-50 minutes. I was fine with that. I got there about 15 minutes after I made my order, and come to find out my order was just sitting on the side. I was kind of upset because what if I came in the time frame she gave me? My food would have been extremely cold. I know they were really busy, but the least the employees there could have done was to call me and let me know my order was ready. But they didnt bother. Do not think I will be back here for their food, I could probably go to Koa Cafe in Kapolei for food similar to them. read more

Search breakfast/brunch near me and this place just so happened to be down the street from us. I'm so glad we found this very cute cafe because I will definitely be back for more! The food is incredible and quite frankly, to die for! We got two plates of bfast, plus 2 coffees, plus the huge stuffed French toast to share and we left spending about 30 bucks. It's small (not a bad thing) so definitely don't try bringing a huge group of friends unless you want to take up the whole place. It's a very cute and chill place, and the people that work there are really nice too! I can't wait to go back! read more

The portions were a good size. Usually my boyfriend is a big eater, but he couldn't finish the food. Overall, the food was yummy. We got the original loco moco and the corn beef hash eggs Benny with fried rice. The loco moco was just a regular loco moco, but the fried rice and eggs Benny were the stars tho. My boyfriend loved the fried rice in the egg yolk. The people next to us got the strawberry cheesecake French toast which looked amazing. Prbly will get that next time. There were 2 challenges: getting to the restaurant was challenging because of the the construction and the food took a long time to come out. It was a good meal though. read more

Service and food is immaculate here. This size of the establishment is another story. Takeout french toast is a no-go though. It's just not nearly as good as it is right there. Also I wish they fried their spam a little more crisp in their fried rice. read more

This is my favorite breakfast spot. I just want to say after 4 years in Hawaii that button up cafe has served the best breakfast on the island! Be patient as parking is hectic and the lot gets full. If you wish to eat in you must sign in on sheet hanging on door and get in line or order at counter if you want food "to go". Food is yummy and the french toast is indulgent & served like a lava cake read more

I've been trying to get my girlfriend to come check this place out with me. Only a 10 minute drive from my house, Button Up Cafe is a hole in the wall, worth every penny. Such a small hole in the wall place with such large flavors. I had ordered kalua pork eggs Benedict with fried rice and my bf had an omelette. Let's just say we were full and everything was delicious. Probably one of the better breakfast places we have been to the fried rice was better then most places and the prices are very reasonable considering that they give a lot of food. Good breakfast joint. Came here on Sunday and had a little wait. This place was packed. You have to go up to the counter to order and pay and food will be served to you. I ordered the loco moco and it was good portion for the price. I hate when I order this at other places and they are skimpy on the rice and burger. Very tasty and filling. I will definitely come here again as they have a variety of dishes I want to try. read more

Sister in law mentioned trying this place out. Right off of Kamehameha Hwy in Pearl City...buggah is winnah's! We came after breakfast hours (coming back to try stuffed French toast) and I whacked the Braised Short Ribs Loco Moco and Kalua Pig Hash. Sampled the Braised Short Rib Poutine fries too. Everything was awesome. Stoked! Must try. read more

Wow! I'd never been here before, but it was way better than I expected from this location. I ordered the Short ribs eggs benny with potatoes. Every item on my plate, right down to the English muffin was knock your socks off amazing. The Kalbi was super soft, the eggs just the right amount of runny, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked, crispy, and not oily. Tell your friends. Carpool and get them here so they can get a bigger/better location, they deserve it for the quality they're putting out. The only room for improvement is that I'm really turned off by the plastic cups and cutlery. So, my recommendation to the reader and future customers, do a sea turtle a solid and bring your own fork. read more

I love this small hole in the wall restaurant. It's small but quaint. The food is amazing. I love going there for the Benedicts. I've tried their stuffed French toast which was good, but realized I'm a salty palate person for breakfast. The tater tots are super crunchy and the potato hash is yummy. Can never decide which one to get. read more

It's birthday week and I saw their famous strawberry cream cheese French toast on Instagram and new I had to try this place ASSP. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! I'm always looking for new different foods and this hit the spot. It wasn't overly sweet and had a good bread to cream cheese ratio. The whipped cream helped too. We also ordered their short rib Benedict. The meat was super tender and full of flavor. Glad to see a new brunch place open up in the Pearl City area. read more

I went to check if they changed or pulled this very misleading bait and switch sign down.. which they did not. A very dishonest practice and also against the law. I took the sign down and when I returned 1 hour later they put up the same sign again which proves it wasnt a mistake it was a dishonest tactic to cheat the public their patrons. They just want you to grab it because its advertised as a good deal and if you dont notice you get rung up a higher price. My friend said depending on which bento the prices vary from 8 - more than $10. So if they purposely do this in the deli they could be using this tactic throughout the store... Its a beautiful market with the majority being good people but this practice aint cool and once trust is broken its hard to get it back. I am hoping thier HR dept comments we will see.

Great little unassuming diner in a nondescript strip mall in Pearl City. The food is great here, and the chef isn't afraid to season things. I have to admit that when we walked in with only 15 minutes left before closing, i really expected some sort of complaining but experienced nothing of the short. Came with my extended family so we ordered a lot, bacon cheeseburger, bulgogi cheese sandwich, tater poutine, mixed bbq plate, jun plate, loco moco, and the kalbi eggs bene. Here's a rundown of what you need to order. .... poutine poutine poutine. It's soo damned good. Them taters are smothered in gravy, cheese sauce, coveted with cheese and a dosed in a secret sauce. That secret, is a creamy chipotle sauce, and it really adds a touch of heat and nice earthy and smoky dimension to the dish. Tater tots are the perfect delivery vehicle as the lattice like crunchy exterior holds up nicely against all that sauce. Two thumbs up, all the way up. The burger was nicely seasoned, great job, tho I'd be willing to pay more for a more substantial patty. The bulgogi sandwich tasted great, but same as the burger, wanted something bigger. The Kalua pork is unctuous, tender and smoky, very nice, tho on the salty side. It's perfect with a mouthful of rice. The jun with its sauce was great, actually that sauce. Think essence of dried Chile, with a touch b of sweetness that brings out all the jun's flavor. Excellent. I didn't have a chance to taste the kalbi bene, it was gone in the blink of an eye. Looked amazing in its short time on earth. Now the loco moco was just good, nothing amazing. My parents are a bit old school and no meal is complete without spicy pickles (kimchee). So even tho it wasn't in the menu, the boys in the back shared their private stash of their mom's homemade stuff. Ono. Highly impressed with their generosity. I'm extremely disappointed with Button Up Cafe. My spouse and I had planned a date brunch before picking up our daughter, and we were really looking forward to it. To make sure we had enough time, I even dropped my spouse off early to wait in line and maximize our dining time. Unfortunately, when they got there, we found out the cafe had closed 40 minutes before their posted hours. What's the point of having hours posted if you're not going to honor them? Closing early with no warning is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, especially for customers who go out of their way to plan a visit. We were left scrambling to find another spot last minute, which put a damper on our day. If Button Up Cafe can't stick to their own schedule, they should at least update customers. Love this new place! Definitely a fan of the Rosemary chicken salad and Chicken Pesto Sandwich! If you are a sandwich lover that would be the best choice. So. Much. Flavor! The flavor is perfect in that sandwich and I love that they use ciabatta bread. I tried the short rib eggs Benedict (due to Yelp reviewers) but it was way too much flavors for me. If you'd like a calorie filled breakfast plate, maybe you might like it. I prefer something cleaner and lighter in the mornings and that choice was a little too much. Also was not a fan of the sweet bread French toast (I usually love sweets) but everyone is different and the crowd seems to like it. Hot on summer days (NO AC only fan). Please do go there! We hate the wait but it's well worth it. The food and the price compliment each other almost as much as the creativity. Definetly worth the trip. ....This my review.. Owning my own restaurantS and coming from an area with an abundance of places and variety of restaurants is that there are so many different tastes. What most likes and dislikes seem to focus on is personal taste and not what the Chefs ideas are, meaning what We are used to. Think about it, how does a new try become a favorite? I came across this place while searching for breakfast spots to try in Hawaii. It's best to arrive early as it fills up quickly. Although it may not look impressive from the outside, the food is truly delicious. So, it's best not to judge the place by its appearance. The service is excellent, and the servers are always friendly, especially with my kids, which I appreciate. We have been there multiple times and always had a great experience. Oh gosh, I already miss this little gem of a restaurant. This is the best, BEST, breakfast/brunch place in Hawaii. Definitely a cute little hole in the wall but they know how to cook the food. Eggs benedicts were delicious, way better than Cinnamon's restaurant (in my opinion). The Korean braised short rib beef and Kalua pork were to die for!!! Their hollandaise sauce was good, not too creamy, just perfect. The eggs were poached perfectly and potato hash was hot and crispy. I wish we went back again. This place was truly yummy! It is a great place to order food and find a different spot to eat because there are only a handful of tables in the place. Parking was pretty good and pretty easy to find! We chose this restaurant for our last breakfast in Hawaii. I had the spinach and mushroom omelet and it was amazing. The eggs were light and fluffy and cooked perfectly! So much yumminess! The coffee was really good for cafe coffee also! Highly recommend, but be prepared for a little wait. It's very popular and not a huge place. So worth it though! read more

Wanted to visit someplace I have never been. Button Up popped up in my search. Liz had a massive Braised Beef Loco Moco on fried rice. Very good. I ordered the Corned Beef Chiabatta breakfast sandwich. The Chipotle aioli was very good and the eggs cooked perfectly. The best part was the crispy corned beef. read more
