    Spicy Chicken Teriyaki

I have tried plenty of teriyaki places and this one is one of my favorites! If you're in the area its definitely worth the stop. I got the spicy chicken teriyaki and the flavor was amazing. We called in the food and it was ready by the time we got there. Its a little place that is easy to miss but even though its small don't let that fool you! They have really good teriyaki.

Consistently good. We love their combos. Nice menu and great local teriyaki. Pick up or eat in.

My family has been going to Buxx since I was elementary aged. I am now 30 and still continue to eat here with my family now. Last week I called and placed an over the phone, and my food was ready upon my arrival and was still warm by the time I ate at home. Highly recommended! Prices are decent, I'd say they are good for the current economy and you still get lots in your plate. I ordered a chicken katsu plate and a side order of egg rolls and it totaled to $27.18. This provided me a lunch and dinner because there was so much.

Wow better than expected, dining in, the presentation is amazing. The star of this place is definitely the Chicken. The beef while tasty was beef crumbs but the chicken with a large portion. Our dishes came with a vivisected egg roll and 3 gyoza dumplings white rice and a tasty but unappealing salad that was actually yum.

    Black burnt bits in food.

Black burnt charcoal bits all throughout my Beef Fried Rice... They can't clean their cooking surfaces?

Thanks to YELP, I've found my "I'm hungry so I will stop here on my way home" teriyaki spot. Buxx is about a 15 minute drive from SeaTac airport, and easy to find. The portions are great and can be split between two people. But, I decided not to share. The food was GREAT! They have quite a huge clientele, so if you come around lunchtime, be prepared to wait. The wait isn't long and it's absolutely worth it. Great customer service as well.

Delicious teriyaki! We got a combo plate that was about $20. It was a good portion that had us both full at the end after finishing it. Food came out quickly, and the staff was friendly. The place was empty when we went, but the food was nice and fresh!

    Super combo chicken and beef

This place was in an out of the way strip mall near a gas station. I had a super combo with chicken and beef for about $20. It was about a meal and a half. It was was swimming in teriyaki sauce and they give you extra sauce. Nothing special about the chicken and it didn't have any char even though I think it was grilled. The beef was chewey and not easy to eat. There was an egg roll, gyoza, and salad. I don't live very close so I probably won't be back.

We got a matcha float with mochi and a hojicha float with mochi. We love the hojicha better. The matcha is prob one of the better I've tasted, but not often you can find hojicha ice cream and milk tea. It was creamy and mildly sweet. So good, refreshing and satisfying! The mochi were ok. It was very bland and not sweet at all. I do prefer my mochi to have a little sweetness to them, like a sweet bite. This was like chewing a bigger non sweet boba ball. So I'd pass on the mochi here and maybe do all ice cream. If ever we're in Seattle would visit again. Update: we came here a few yrs later. The drinks were still good as ever. My husband got a frappe and loved it. We had a salmon bowl which was decent. Not something I would order again here but we were so hungry from traveling and meeting friends, we needed some food. This time no line out the door. We got a seat inside. We came in June this yr, nice weather outside but inside was super hot as they did not run the AC. They had the windows/doors open but no breeze and mosquitos were inside attacking. I can't imagine a good breeze when the cafe is wedged btw two huge buildings. It made our visit this time very stifling.

Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the reputation. The clam chowder was just average. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't memorable or deserving of the accolades we had read about. The slice of sourdough bread served with it was extremely dry and tasted stale, which was disappointing given Seattle's reputation for great sourdough. We also ordered the cod fish and chips, and the fish tasted like frozen, pre-breaded cod rather than fresh fish. The coating was crispy; although, the fish did taste fresh. Overall, we left feeling that the restaurant was overrated. We had expected a standout meal based on its reputation, but instead found the food to be average at best. While the service was fine and the line moved efficiently, we wouldn't make a point to return or recommend it as a must-visit dining experience in Seattle.

This is a sushi by the pound place in SLU, but they also have a menu with variety of things such as udon, inari, chirashi, etc. The selection of fish you can choose from in the weigh your sushi section is not that big. They only have 2 high premium fishes available: otoro and amberjack. However you can only get 1 of each, which to me defeats the purpose. I also got a bulgogi inari and it was $5 / piece which is pricey. Another thing is that they use a lot of rice, too much rice. Service is ok, they ring you up and bring the food to you if you ordered through the menu. It's a very relaxing and chill area as well. The fish maw soup is very collagen-rich and comforting to drink. We also ordered the beef sirloin slices, lamb shoulder, and pork belly, all of which were top quality. What I like about Haidilao is the variety of items you can use to make your own sauce. The food was good, the service was fun, and our kids absolutely loved coming here. We went back yesterday and were honestly shocked at how much has changed. 1. Combo A has been gutted. The old Combo A was around $34 per person and included vegetables. Now, to get roughly the same meal, you're looking at closer to $50 per person. This isn't simply a price increase--they removed much of what made the combo a good value. 2. You're now charging for the condiment bar. Want soy sauce? That's an extra charge. For a family of four, getting access to basic condiments adds roughly another $30. Charging extra for soy sauce at a hot pot restaurant feels incredibly nickel-and-dime. 3. The family-friendly experience has disappeared. No toys for the kids at the table. No bibs. Many of the little touches that made Haidilao unique--and justified paying a premium--are gone. 4. Even the claw machines have changed. The kids used to receive one token for every $10 spent, so a $100 meal meant 10 tokens and they could almost always leave with a prize. Now that same spend gets only four tokens. It may seem trivial to adults, but for kids it's one of the highlights of the visit. Instead of leaving excited, they leave disappointed. What puzzles me is that these cuts can't possibly save very much. Bok choy is inexpensive. The toys probably cost about a dollar each in bulk. Yet all of these changes together make the experience feel 25-40% more expensive. Our family of four would now easily spend over $200 for dinner. Sorry, but this isn't a high-end steakhouse. The robot servers are neat, but they're not "$200 dinner" neat. The biggest disappointment isn't even the higher bill--it's that Haidilao is no longer fun for our kids. That was the entire reason we kept coming back. We happily spent around $1,500 a year here because everyone in the family enjoyed it. Now we'll spend that money somewhere else. Maybe the restaurant is packed enough that they don't care. Maybe they've intentionally decided to stop catering to families with young kids. That's certainly a business decision they can make. But if that's the strategy, they've lost our family as customers. It feels like the company is sacrificing long-term loyal customers to save a few dollars per table. That's disappointing, because Haidilao used to be one of our favorite restaurants.
