Fellow yelpers - this place did not disappoint. I'm glad I read the reviews before I came here because I was really happy with the food I got a week ago. That fried rice though! So freaking delicious! It's simple, not your traditional Chinese fried rice with veggies and sausage, but danggggg whatever combination of seasonings they used, I was impressed! It was really satisfying, I've missed my parents' cooking since I've moved out and it reminded me of my Dad's five minute fried rice which is pretty much seasonings and eggs lol. No joke though- it was worth the extra $. Do it, trust me and the other yelpers! The rice was moist and held up well, not mushy at all and eating it with the chicken had me in such a good mood after a longggggg day at work. The rice has this enticing aroma, I couldn't figure out what's in there. Smells and tastes awesome! Alright so my pick was the super combo with teriyaki beef and chicken. This came with an egg roll and three potstickers. The teriyaki wasn't swimming in sauce which I liked but had a nice char but the meat still extremely juicy. The sauce that comes on the side is amazing! I dipped my meat in it lightly because in all honesty, I could just eat the meat as is, I thought it was really good! Not coyingly sweet but you can taste the sauce sauce and noted of vinegar, a very balanced teriyaki sauce. I liked the chicken more than the beef, I was also curious about their kalbi but I'll let you guys know when I order that next time! The portion was very generous and for the quantity and quality, I think it's worth it! I've been a fan of Toshio's on Rainier since my husband and I were still dating so I'm kind of upset at myself for never giving this place a chance considering I've been living so close to it for years! I made this takeout into three meals, so in the end for those who eat in small quantities this is quite a deal. The egg roll wasn't anything special- it tasted homemade, it looked kind of like a Costco egg roll but from what I can tell- it is not although Monica the "Food Investigator" had doubts at first lol. Gyozas were ok, nothing extraordinary... So I would actually advise NOT to do the combo, just go for meats only people! That's where the awesomeness is! Salad is ok- I'm going to ask for more dressing next time, all I could taste was lettuce. The salad was wet so it tasted like I was eating a diluted dressing. I also ordered Mongolian beef and sweet and sour chicken for my hubs and he was quite happy with what he got. The man is Chinese and my father in law cooks the bombest Chinese food ever, we have no business buying this as takeout but surprisingly it actually didn't let my hubs down because he ate it with no complaints. Heck, he did not share with me and from the bites I managed to have when he wasn't looking, I think their sweet and sour is actually pretty good. Buxx Teriyaki is truly a diamond in the rough. It may not look like much from the outside, but this place is truly delicious. I stumbled in here while traveling in Seattle based on good reviews and a location near my hotel and it turned out to be the best meal I had on my entire trip. The chicken teriyaki is phenomenal and the gyoza is perfectly crispy and delicious. I recommend the super chicken teriyaki combo, because it comes with a little of everything to try. Prices here are very reasonable and the serving sizes are generous - you will not leave hungry. If you're in Seattle, you need to try this place! read more

Although it might not look like much from the outside the food is incredible and was actually the best food I had in Seattle. This place is a little hidden gem in Seattle. I've lived less than two miles away for years and hate that it took me so long to find them. My favorites are the General's Chicken, Mongolian beef, and chicken yakisoba. All the entries are solid. But their egg rolls are God-like. Best teriyaki I've had in Seattle, and I've tried many. Fortunately for us, we live just down the street from Buxx. We get the spicy chicken breast teriyaki and ask for it extra crispy. Been in Washington just under a year, but this is the best teriyaki place I've found so far. And they have different teriyaki restaurants everywhere here. My only complaint is that they aren't open on Sunday. But everyone needs a break, good things come to those that wait, right? The spicy chicken and pork teriyaki is addictive and the beef short ribs have a great straight off the grill flavor to them. I have yet to get anything I didn't enjoy. Most places give a mid sized styrofoam carton with two heaping scoops of rice to do a push out bra effect under a layer of meat. Buxx does good portions of meat in a large carton. I frequent the 7-Eleven kitty corner from here and decided to follow my nose to this little diamond. The name put me off for a while (just reminded me of "Buck" from Kill Bill), but it stayed on my radar because the smells from outside made me salivate. So far, this truly is the best teriyaki I've had in Seattle--saying a lot since there are teriyaki spots everywhere. The portions are very hefty, there's a crunch in the meat so you can tell it was grilled, and the sauce was thick and sweet. Prices are very reasonable for the portions they serve. They also serve Chinese food if you happen to be craving that in a Teriyaki restaurant. Considering how good the Beef teriyaki was, I may give it a shot at some time as well. read more

My favorite Teriyaki spot hands down. I've been to many teriyaki places and this one beats them all. They're a little pricier compared to other teriyaki places but I'd much rather go here. The place is clean and the food is good. Chicken teriyaki has the perfect charred edges and the sauce is incredibly delicious. I normally come for their lunch hours (10-2) and order their chicken teriyaki super combo, for $8.99(+tax) it comes with a good portion of teriyaki, rice, salad, an egg roll, 3 gyozas, and a small soda. Very yummy. I've been coming here since they first opened and will be a forever customer. the only downside is they can get very busy during certain hours (just shows how popular they are) so I'll generally order to go and eat at home. Chicken beef super combo was delicious! Teriyaki sauce was perfectly sweet yet not too much. Super friendly owner, the tea was jasmine and had real flavor (unlike some which are very weak.) The tofu teriyaki with side of veggies was so tasty. Veggies were notable size, there was a nice variety and they were cooked just how I liked (not too soft, not too crunchy.) I've tried a number of different items on their menu over the years but tonight was the first time I had the chicken yakisoba and I was not disappointed. It had tons of vegetables and a perfect amount of chicken. The staff are extremely nice and always remember me. I live just down the street and even though they always tell me it will be about 15-20 minutes it rarely takes that long . I am also always happy with whatever I choose.
