BWP's staff did so well last night in Saratoga's event to support local small businesses. The staff was not aware that they were participating in the event until they showed up to their shifts. With the extensive amount of takeout orders they received (about 70 all at once through the mealeo app) they came together as a team and you could see how hard everyone the staff was working to please the overwhelming amount of customers. It is true, no customer got their order on time and there were plenty of cancellations but with the lack of information, the staff pulled through and worked the hardest I have ever seen people work. There were screaming obnoxious customers who were just looking to get the money's worth out of the Saratoga event - the problem came from the abundance of online orders through the mealeo app, not the Saratoga restaurants. Came here on a weekend visit to Saratoga. Close to the mall and far superior to TGIF and Applebee's the offerings include burgers, pizzas, flatbreads and entrees and a full bar with a great selection of local and foreign beers. I had two New York beers and the pulled pork flatbread. The pizza was crisp and soft as it should be with juicy pulled pork perhaps too much chipotle aioli and an almost perfect balance of jalapeños for some genuine heat. Maybe too much but it was good. The bar is interesting and the service knowledgable. Will definitely come back to BWP. read more

We went to BWP for the first time this week. And honestly we wanted to give a shout out to our waitress...Brigid. She turned around our experience, by insisting on fixing our pizza when it came out wrong from the kitchen though we explained we weren't picky. And even fixed our drink when it came out tasting like straight liquor. She made our first experience into a great one, never have we had such a caring waitress. We visited for the first time last night. The restaurant is real nice with a generous amount of staff. We had chips, salsa and guacamole. It was very tasty. We also had a pizza that was terrible. It was cold, over cooked and lacking the ordered toppings. We had a few basic beers. I thought it was pricey, 85$ . How about I pay YOU in COUPONS? I have to say that I have not eaten at this place. It is close to my place so I have been thinking of going there before they even open. But I don't think I will. First of all, I was excited by the promise that they would have gluten-free pizza. I called to make sure but the phone number they had on facebook was the owner's cell phone. Ok, maybe it was just their first couple of weeks since opening. Anyway, sounding all confused the owner said they don't have gluten free pizza and don't plan to. Then my friend had an interesting experience with the owners (who by the way own another restaurant in Saratoga). These business people walked in an establishment next door to theirs, had their fill of food and drinks AND good service and.... tipped their waiter with.... a coupon to their new restaurants. Seriously???? People who work in the industry do not know that waiters depend on tips to compensate for very low hourly pay? What if I come into your restaurant and decide that the food unsatisfactory? Can I just pay you with some issues of Bon Appetit magazine? If you can't afford to tip a server do not eat in a restaurant! If you have a problem with service ask to speak with a manager. These people smiled and appeared happy about the service they received but their cordiality was reduced to a stinking coupon for 15% off in their new restaurant. Shame! read more

I am giving it one star just because of the great location. We are SO disappointed with this place. We eat out often and consider ourselves to be real foodies. We ordered the pizza and it was horrible; not edible. The crust tasted like a saltine cracker sans any salt or flavor. It was supposed to be a kale pizza. When it was delivered it had three bites of dry, uncooked or dressed kale thrown on the top. You kidding? It was awful. I had also wanted a dinner salad but they don't have one on the menu? Really? The waitress said they could put one together so I agreed to order. She brought me a tiny, tiny cereal bowl with two little hunks of ice berg lettuce and a wedge of pink, flavorless tomato on top. Gross.... What chef would think this was acceptable? The other problem I had was the menu did not list the prices of the wines. The waitress told us that the managers wanted people to choose which wine they wanted based on the name and not be concerned with the price. Really? Most people I know like to know the cost of a glass of wine before they decide which one to order and at least use the information to make their decision. My husband and I are incredibly disappointed with this restaurant as we live around the corner and were hoping to eat here often as our local hang out. While BWP attempts to appeal to the hipster foodie crowd, the pizza is simply too soulless. It tastes very by the numbers and forgettable. Thus is a nice pub-style restaurant with a solid beer selection and a good menu. Great burger too. The problem is the largely inexperienced children the owner has hired to work here. Lousy inattentive service and they would rather text their friends or make time with others than provide service to patrons. So third time here and it was not a charm. First 2 times were on Sunday afternoons and service and food was good - came on a Friday night and neither was very good. I get the gluten free pizza - on Sunday it was decent topping was good (I always ask for extra sauce since I can't have the cheese either. ) on Friday toppings were sparse and sauce was scarce crust was burnt. I've been to BWP many times over the past two years and they're very consistent. They run a tight ship. The facilities, like all three of their places in Saratoga Springs: Wheatfields, BWP and 2 West are top notch. All of their ingredients come from locals farms and gluten free options are always available. The pizza here is top notch and made fresh by hand. The gluten free crust is also very good. The menu isn't extensive beyond pizza and burgers but like all of their local restaurants, there are fresh salad options and best of all, a full bar. 2 stars only because the layout and atmosphere is kinda cool and it would be nice to have a place to escape from all that is downtown during track season. Coupled with an IPA heavy tap selection we had bbq, the medium and the garlic wings. All ordered xtra crispy (not) and apparently they won the Saratoga wing contest in '16. They must've been the only entrant. We then ordered the bbq chicken pizza, the buffalo chicken pizza, a plain and a pepperoni. All were doughy, not really cooked thru and kinda just gross. Especially the buffalo chicken pizza. Hardly any chicken and it really tasted not good. Like bad. It's just bad. The traditional red sauce used on the pepperoni and plain was blah. And I didn't understand why they came out kind of like warm at best. It was a slow Thursday night. And it's pizza. And you're called beer wine and pizza. So be good at making pizza. It's in your name. And for the love of who ever use a water filter. The tap water they serve tastes like it was passed thru a dirty gym sock. Just friggin gross. Go to hearth and harvest. Came here for pizza takeout and unfortunately, it was terrible. There was no one in the restaurants itself, which says a lot. Our takeout waiter was pleasant but the pizza was the worst pizza I have ever had. I didn't know pizza could taste bad. We used to come here all the time. When it first opened we were here every weekend. Ever since about Feb the service has gone down. I came with my family in June and more than half the beer menu wasn't available. I know the manager and have seen him here regularly. He was at the next table the entire time this was happening and never acknowledged this (it was a very slow Tuesday). We came on beer and burger Tuesday and our bill didn't even reflect the deal (we got beers and burgers). We have come out of town to visit family for the holiday season, we observed one of your servers with the utmost hospitality and did not want to let it go unspoken. We came in for dinner on 12/2019. Our server was Alyssa, and although the food was very pleasant, we did not have a very pleasant experience with our server. The young lady who we observed however, was tending to a very large party. We were very taken back by her patience, organization and consistent warm smile. We did not catch her name but she had blonde curly hair. We travel frequently and come across many servers. All too often our service is very unsatisfactory, so when there is an outstanding server, like the exceptional young lady tending to that very large party, we feel it should be brought to the attention of management. We will back for the Saratoga race season and we hope to get seated with that fine young lady. read more

Ok, so, this is a sports bar. Don't expect anything else. While another reviewer commented negatively about the TVs having sound, I like it because when I watch a football game I want to hear what's going on, but it is a little loud when not busy. So, I guess they could do a better job at adjusting the volume when there are not a lot of people jabbering to drown out the sound. They were short staffed on the floor and in kitchen the day that we went, and we had to wait longer than usual for our food, but they handled it very well. And the food was pretty good. Had the tuna (done perfectly). The broccoli that came with it had a little bit too much butter and salt, but was good nonetheless. My fiancé had the bbq pizza. Yummy. We will return with the knowledge that it is a sports bar. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I had to in this case. We showed up at 230 pm after a baseball game with 17 people and they got us right in to tables and took our order. Excellent waitress service and the beer is a great selection of local draught beer and some just outside the NY area. The hand tossed pizza is awesome and the wings are great too. A couple people had the burgers and they said they really good. One had the fish and chips and that was also really good. All in all, it's a great place to eat. It's kind of difficult to find as you can't see it from the road. You have to go into a small subdivision of condos and its hiding in there burning lad we found it. read more
