At Luc Dinh Ky Restaurant, I ordered the house special chow mein. It was a hearty dish that had plenty of ingredients, including shrimp, chicken and Chinese sausage. I loved that there was a good portion of crunchy noodles that "nested" the softer noodles and dish itself. The portion size was generous for the price, and there was plenty leftover for another meal. Service was really friendly, and the waiters came by often to make sure that we were satisfied with our meal.
the rice dishes are so delicious. the chow fun wasn't too bad. it's a spacious place with lots of seating but it can get crowded easily. the crispy rice had nice texture and the portions are good. service is quick. overall, a great local spot and i highly recommend the rice dishes.

I came here because of a Reddit recommendation. The food is good, just not memorable. I tried the salmon plate with grilled rice since everyone on Yelp said it was a must-try. It was good, but not amazing. The Hainan chicken was okay too. I really liked the free drink that came with the meals. It was perfectly sweetened. You can order it with ice or without - but fair warning, no ice means it comes very warm in a plastic cup. It's not room temp. They do take apple/google pay. It's not cash only like I had thought, thank goodness. But when I tried to leave, one of the ladies yelled at me and held me hostage. She insisted the transaction didn't go through because the receipt said "signature not required". I showed her my copy of the receipt that said "approved," but that wasn't enough. She made a scene, it was embarrassing and annoying. Eventually, after taking pictures and sending them to her boss, she finally let me go. What a first impression!
Luc Dinh Ky Restaurant is super nostalgic for me I've been eating this growing up. It's definitely a staple when it comes to hủ tiếu mì Lục Đỉnh Ký and cơm nướng bò lúc lắc. It's very much a mom-and-pop spot, which I love because I'll always support my people. I'm pretty particular about my Vietnamese food, and this place usually hits the mark for me. On my most recent visit, the rice with my beef dish was a little mushy, but other than that, the flavors are usually very on point and the service is quick. There's typically no wait when I go, which is such a plus especially if you're already starving. They move fast: your food is often out by the time you sit down, and even faster if you already know what you want. Portions are generous, and they also offer free herbal tea with every order (no refills). Another plus they're open until 11 PM, which is clutch for late-night cravings. If you're in the area, definitely check them out. There are two locations this is the original spot, and the other one down the street is a franchise.
Pho ap chao bo aka beef chow fun is the best here. Comes with a side of their special spicy soy sauce so you can control the saltiness. Love that they give you a free chrysanthemum tea with each entree, even for to go orders! Portions are great value! Could feed two or perfect leftovers for the next day. After dining in and getting more entrees to go, they gave us an additional free bottled drink to go.

We've been to this location for years. Always order the shaking beef and salmon with rice. My husband likes the crunchy rice and soft for me. Parking can be tight during peak hours and weekends. I also love their free herbal teas.
The food is home style and could work on the seasoning. Salmon with crispy rice - overall bland and the sauce served with it is the saving grace. Stir fried noodles - unlike the salmon it was a salty. The lup cheong pieces alone were salty so the dish itself could've done without it.

I took pictures of our food, which looked delicious, but I thought it would be good to show how we literally all emptied our bowls completely. I ordered the beef stew pho, one friend ordered wonton noodle soup with yellow noodles, and another friend ordered congee. All meals come with a cup of sweet tea. We couldn't figure out what tea it was... maybe chrysanthemum? But it was VERY sweet. A lot of Vietnamese restaurants are cash only but they take card here.
Easy spot to find with its convenient location. There's a parking lot available, though it can get a bit busy at times--but overall, it's not too bad. Prices are reasonable, especially for the portion sizes, and it's nice that they include a house drink with the meal. The food is better than average and comes out pretty quickly. Service is warm and friendly, with sweet older ladies taking care of you. The place itself is a bit older, and cleanliness is about average, but still comfortable enough to enjoy a meal. Overall, a solid spot for decent meals.
I'm from San Jose, but I always come here whenever I vacation in SoCal because my boyfriend loves this place. We usually come for the crispy salmon rice alone. This time, we still got the salmon crispy rice but I also ordered the Hu tieu luc dinh ky to try because I was craving soup. The crispy salmon rice was as good as I remembered it being the last time I came here. Not sure how they get the perfect crispness but they did. The sauce and veggies that come with the plate completes the dish as a whole. Even if you don't really like fish or seafood, I think many people would enjoy it. Now, the Hu tieu luc dinh ky was good too. The only thing I didn't like was that the noodles inside were the thin noodles like pho. Most Hu tieu restaurants I go to use the flat, white and thick noodles. I wished I knew this because I would have ordered it with the mi (yellow noodles) instead. The Hu tieu was still good nonetheless. The broth was flavorful and savory, you don't really get tired of sipping the soup. Some of the meat like the chicken in the soup was overwhelming for me to eat because it was so thick. I wished they had cut it into smaller pieces, but it's okay. I'll be back here still every time I come back to socal. Now at least I know what to order for next time when I'm craving the soup along with the crispy salmon rice hehe. Also, the complimentary drink they give you with your order is so refreshing. A great audition to have with the meal.
whenever i crave crispy rice and salmon, i always have to come back to luc dinh ky! they serve the crispiest rice without it being burnt, and the salmon is fried without tasting greasy or oily! i like putting the soy sauce on my rice and the sweet and sour sauce on my salmon and eating everything together for the perfect one bite. another plus here is definitely the free and refreshing chrysanthemum tea !! my bf got the bo luc lac, which we both thought was just okay and not as good as the salmon. the beef was pretty tender tho and was yummy with the crispy rice, so if you like bo luc lac, this one is pretty good! we also shared a wonton soup, which came with huge wontons and a very hearty and clean soup. i also like the veggies in the soup too, but it did have a lot of green onions that i'm not the biggest fan of ... the service here is pretty quick and efficient with people coming and going constantly. i even received a free collagen drink when i paid, so that was a super nice gesture for the customers! overall, this place remains as a classic in westminster, and i'll be back for the crispy crunchy rice! read more

After a fun-filled day at Great Wolf Lodge with my nephew and hubby, I was craving some noodles, and hubby told me about this spot--although he had never actually tried it either. So all three of us were first-timers! Let me tell you, Orange County is OVERWHELMING when it comes to Vietnamese food. There are restaurants on practically every corner, sometimes within what feels like ONE FOOT of each other! We decided to give this one a try, and thankfully, we were not disappointed. We're not usually big on fusion restaurants because sometimes the menu gets a little too modernized and loses that traditional authenticity we're looking for. But the second we walked in here, we already knew this was NOT one of those places. It's definitely an old-school, no-frills Vietnamese spot that has been around for quite some time--and honestly, sometimes that's exactly what you need! #21 -- House Special Egg Noodle Rating: 9.2/10 #24 -- Wonton & BBQ Pork Egg Noodle Rating: 9.2/10 Hubby ordered #21 dry with the soup broth on the side, and WOW. Sometimes a simple broth can tell you everything you need to know. After tasting that broth alone, we already knew the noodles were going to hit. What I loved most was the sauce underneath the egg noodles. Once you mix everything together, every single strand gets coated with that delicious savory-sweet sauce. I'm not exactly sure what they use or how they make it, but there was almost this char siu drippings-type flavor that brought everything together. Then you get those slices of char siu, half an egg, chicken, greens, and all those delicious little bites mixed throughout. Simple ingredients, but when they're done right, they DON'T need anything fancy! My nephew ordered #24, and he enjoyed his just as much. Definitely a win when the kid approves too! What type of business refuses to take calls? I called 4 times around 4ish PM but no one picked up!! When I got to the restaurant to order, staff told me it's bc they were in the middle of changing shift. While I was sitting there waiting for my food, I saw with my own eyes there was a male staff right next to the phone, refused to pick up calls eventhough the phone was ringing off the hook! I ordered 1 of their popular dishes, cơm nướng bò lúc lắc. For $18, the portion is VERY SMALL for a petite 100 lb person like me. I was still hungry after finished the food. This cơm nướng dish is VERY HYPED!! Save your $$ and go elsewhere. They would not pick up to take orders and you would end up hungry with your dish. read more

My dear husband went after work to pick me up some goodies after I told him I was craving some food after watching some food reels. He got me one of their popular items on their menu, the #3 crispy salmon with crispy rice. It was easy to place an order over the phone, and they were very nice during the pick up. They even gave a free iced tea to go. Glad they accept cards too without an extra charge. I enjoyed the crispy salmon. It was still crispy when he brought it home. And I really enjoyed the crispy rice & sauces it came with. Looking forward to trying more on the menu. read more

I used to come here quite often in my salad years! I have not been here in years. This strip mall changed drastically. I did not like the fact that as soon as I entered the woman there asked for my name, I have not even looked at the menu to order anything yet, the restaurant was empty! I ordered wonton soup and seafood chowmein, the wonton was good but the broth was bland. The chow mein was so tasteless, it was strange they added a lot of Chinese sausages that changed the taste of the chow mein, too much rubbery fish and not enough of shrimp and no scallop or even squid, I did not like it, I forced myself to eat a little bit and unfortunately I had to throw the rest out. The free herbal drink tasted weird, I went next door to buy a sugar cane drink. The bill came out to $32. 3 stars is a generous rating. read more

i used to go here at least once a month with my family for like over a decade since i was in elementary school haha, i won't lie its always been relatively inconsistent with how they prepare the food but its usually still good LOL i always get the bo luc lac with com nuong, thankfully wasn't burnt this time but i was so used to it if it was haha, its been a year since i've gone here and the vibes are very different with how they changed the setup - the workers are basically all the same people since i was little and they're always very nice to us! i also really like their com chien ca mang and think theirs is one of the best in the area! otherwise i don't get much else, but my family gets their salmon and rice which i think is also good! the restaurant is still open late but it used to be even later from my memory. their nuoc mat is still the best but sad it's not free refills anymore haha, they took it out a long time ago during covid i think read more
Luc Dinh Ky is a very popular, local, Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Little Saigon. This spot has existed for ever, and I have many fond memories of eating here at 3 or 4 AM with my family. I came back recently, and it has remained mostly the same. They still provide free tea, and the food is still rather good! However, the portions are definitely smaller. The service is always a little hit or miss. Overall, Luc Dinh Ky is still worth a trip to get solid, yummy food! read more

I've been coming to Lic Dinh Ky for years now! I always come to this location and not the other one. Usually I get the Ap Chao Dac Biet, Bo Luc Lc or Mi Lic Dinh Kay but this time I ordered Hu Tieu Xao Dac Biet and I was not disappointed. Such a good flavor and loved the amount of veggies it came with compared to their Ap Chao Dac Biet. This place always gives free herbal tea with your email which is my absolute favorite part about coming here also because they close at midnight every night. This will always be one of my Vietnamese restaurants to go to. Portions are a pretty big size for me because I can never finish their chow fun or rice dishes and always pack the leftovers for the following day. I never have to wait long for the food to come out either! read more

Came here for dinner with the family. Combination stir fry noodle - flavor was a bit bland for my taste but it went well with the soy sauce chili. Dry noodle - the noodles were a little bit overcooked for our liking Wonton noodle soup - delicious Crispy salmon rice - good as always Salted fish with shrimp rice - good and not too salty Herbal tea. - always delicious but a tad bit sweet read more
This place has gone down the drain. I ordered the special crispy noodles and salmon rice. Both dishes taste not the same as before, especially my crispy fried noodles did not have any meat nor squid like before. Instead they put Chinese sausage and something that tasted like vegetarian meat, very strange and I could not eat it all because it was very difficult to eat. The customer service was terrible. Food quality has decreased significantly. I'm not sure if they have a new cook or new management but someone definitely ruined this place. The portions are also much less now . read more

One of my favorite Chinese Vietnamese restaurants. They have the best salmon with grilled rice, house special egg noodle, and salted fish fried rice. It's so delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The bonus is all entree comes with FREE nouc mat a.k.a herbal tea. Even when you order for to go. The service is fast and the owner is very friendly. The place is old but clean. Totally recommend this restaurant if you're in the area. read more

whenever i'm craving late night vietnamese food, luc dinh ky is always my go to spot since this location closes at midnight and they just have so many good staples! food always comes out hot and the portions are great for the price! service can always be wishy washy as it usually is with most asian places, but i've never had any bad experiences and the staff have always been generally nice! definitely hits the spot when i need that quick, late night, vietnamese fix read more
Been here a few times visiting California and finally got to rate it. The menu was huge and had a lot of great dishes to chose from. I don't recall how the pho was the last time I had it, but I'm pretty sure it was good since I'm back. This time around we ordered different dishes. Hubby and I ordered the loc lac and steamed chicken to share while my sister ordered pho. The season of the chicken and beef was very good. The meals also came with free sweet tea which was a plus for us. The ladies that worked there didn't speak great English but they were very nice to us. read more
